[Q] Droid Dna games - HTC Droid DNA

Hey there.
I'm going to be getting the DNA in a week and have looked through youtube and there's no videos yet on gaming performance except the one game that comes with it. I was curious as to how well the DNA plays more graphically demanding games with the 1080 screen. Are there any hiccups anybody has noticed? I know need for speed most wanted was one of the games that seem to have Fps slowdowns and Nova 3 has had some hiccups here and there on the note 2 I had. Any info would be really helpful.

According to adrenaline, a lot if games don't work yet.

Ya, i've heard that some games don't work with the 1080 resolution yet. But I only heard of a handful not working. Won't be able to do any testing myself until I get a hold of the phone next week. I have basically all the gameloft games. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me, but it would suck having to wait for the devs to play catch up with the higher res screen.

Is the Razr a decent gaming device?

I'm interested in getting a Razr and I would appreciate some experience with playing games on it as I'm a big gamer. I have an iPod Touch, but I only play like three games on it because the screen is so small. Is the Razr capable of keeping up with intense games?

So there's no significant slowdown or freezing when playing intense games? When I play intense games on my Droid 3, after 20 minutes it becomes unusable and requires a reboot.

I recently acquired the craze for this amazing games available, and I can say they run awesomely great!
See, I used to have an Xperia, and the games were either too big (in MB) or too demanding (processing power) so I never really played, since the phone slowed down considerably.
Now with my RAZR, I tried a bunch of games that ran as smooth as butter, with very detalied graphics on the, oh so great screen, it's overall a much, much better experience. I tried GTA 3, Battle Bears, Spiderman HD, Real Racing 2 and Shine Runner. All took up 400-700 MB but they run with no hiccups.
Real Racing 2 works on the RAZR?

Yeah, just tried it this morning. Seems to work so far.
We've got a PowerVR GPU. It's enough.
Somehow, my riptide GP and sprinkle ( YES SPRINKLE) lag when i play them.
Also, the water effects in sprinkle is not real..it looks like round dots..which are really ugly. Already using chainfire3D but still there. dont really know why
It's not about capability, it's all about compatibility.
it's a beast.. just played gta 3 for about an hour.. runs great
well my razr doesnt fare so well, so far it lagged heavily on fruitninja HD, ninjump and ashphalt 6. anyone else expierencing this?

Is asphalt 6 compatible with razr?
I have bought that when I was using my old milestone 2, but it doesn't appear in my razr's [email protected]@

Agreed on GTA. Please also consider that unlike a few other recent devices, the Razr has a qHD, rather than 720p, so less pixels to push. Especially if you play game emulators, the Gnex and Rezound do not play very well with virtual pads, plus PSX and N64 play slower.
Pixels are a factor for game emulators and is why they play faster when in a smaller native window (less pixels to push). Not sure why there is not better scaling for Android, but all current chipsets have the issue.

Just wondering who all is into this game and if anyone has got it running well online
Im currently on ICS but also tried it on overclocked GB
problem is when I play it online firing rate slows down way more then it should be
result is getting my ass handed to me
now I love this game would love to have it working well
any thoughts or suggestions are welcome
edit: even other online FPS that play well would be welcome

Its a pretty solid device for gaming, I've run almost all the Emulators on it and they work great, and all market games work very smooth like! Also helps that there was a great person who got the Wii Controller to work with our device, just search for that thread if you're interested
It is awesome. I have never experienced any lag. All the games I've played at the highest graphics settings have run very smoothly.

There are a few games that do not work, just as an FYI. I haven't been able to play Robot Unicorn Attack, N.O.V.A 2 or Sim City, to name a few.

Wild Blood released today

EDIT:
Gameloft released an update today that fixed most of the Tegra lag that most of us were running into. I'm glad to see the company responding to criticism.
OP:
Gameloft's much-anticipated foray into the world of Unreal graphics was released today... and it absolutely sucks on the TF201 with JB. It is so laggy that it is almost unplayable.
If you've got $7 bucks to spend on an action/adventure game, go with Horn.
Runs very smooth with ics oced to 1.7ghz. Some textures could be better upclose but is looking good overall and no lag.

downloaded and played very laggy and is going to be a kracker of a game but until they fix the glitches i cant keep motivated to play

Couldn't find the right enough words to describe how true this is, and taking into consideration most of the biggest titles of Android games comes from Game loft. Just when you thought that this tablet isn't bad enough, game loft ditches tegra optimizations

I actually think gameloft intentionally makes it run bad on tegra3 because they don't want tegra zone to get big and successful. Its infuriating!

I suppose that might be true but with optimizations for Tegra would mean that they've won out a huge share of the market that has capable hardware and they would've already won half the battle

I've got to say that it's a good thing that they had this updated for Tegra, but I've noticed that they've disabled all the shader graphics and sword swinging effects for the Tegra version, take a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q051U1nzjM&feature=youtube_gdata_player and notice the effects when the player swings the sword
Edit;
As from the Note 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avQPCv9ki8k&feature=youtube_gdata_player full graphics are enabled as well, so it's just for the Tegra 3 that gameloft has disabled special effects
like it
make fun
See, this is the issue with the Tegra3 SoC. On one hand you have some great games developed for it (mainly by Madfinger) but on the other hand, other developers are taking effects out of their games in order to get their content to play smoothly on Tegra3 devices.

Really, one core? Which CPU monitor are you using? That seems really kind of ridiculous since all Android phones made in the last 2 years have 2 cores. The only devices that I know of that's come out in the last year that has a single core is the Intel based ones.
Anyone know if Wild Blood supports sixaxxis/ps3 controller natively? I recently downloaded Dungeon Hunter 3 and it works flawlessly with a PS3 Controller (i'm not rooted!). Thanks in advance for anyone who answers!

I've got a Logitech F710 that works with most games that support controllers natively, but it doesn't work on Wild Blood.

Watch Nexus 10 running Need For Speed Most Wanted and Asphalt 7

I have search the Nexus 10 forum and I have not found anybody else posting these videos here. Last night I came accross these video so I thought I should share with you guys:
Nexus 10 running Need for Speed Most Wanted:
http://youtu.be/y8SeoVHXyeM
Nexus 10 running Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and Asphalt 7
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7aSfUacFUE&feature=share&list=UU9ogazG-vgEg6rbH8e_fF-g
This is to show you some real world gaming performance. I have heard that Nova 3 works pretty well on this tablet. Some textures on the Asphalt 7 are still like whats on Nexus 7 so it probably needs to be updated. However both EA and GL working hard to update their games before 13th November.
Lol, who is this guy and why does he have a nexus 10?
I've always said screw the useless benchmarks. Nexus 10 running real games this smooth looks very promising.
EPIC LAGS on the most wanted video, 3:29 and 3:31 (and minor lags the 10 seconds before and after that), wtf?

Lolz yes and the guy was shaking his tablet hoping that the game would start working this way
Beside these lags the game was working fine. There was some weird green holo in Asphalt 7 when you collect money. I think asphalt 7 still needs more work although game was updated on 2 Nov. Gameloft is updating it games and so does EA

No idea. He is indian but I think currently he is living in USA. I saw one guy posted a comment on his video that nexus 10 is available from ebay for 699. I check on ebay and there were preorders only. I think some reviewer sold his tablet to him like people right away sold their nexus 7 as soon as they came out of Google I/O.

Yes CNET is always praise for this tablet as well and normally they are apple guys so this means tablet is indeed good. I have seen Asphalt 7 running great in another review video some days ago so I knew that games are not an issue on this tablet.

Getting the 32GB version, you can't add extra storage later and a bit more cash gets you double the space. Getting rid of my iPad 3 64G LTE, putting it up on eBay. So long Apple.

Likely a system background app doing that yea, thus "Android" lagging the game per se, like on any other phone/tablet.

Yeah think if the tablet couldn't run the game it would lag all the time, a couple of blips points to another app causing it.
One app I could telling was open in the background was poweramp when he started the music from the drop down menu. Overall I would have to say that video is encouraging. With a developer streamlined kernel overclocking the gpu a little the N10 is going to beast.
Watched the asphalt 7 vid and I see the graphics are set on low with the tiny opening gameloft logo. Would really like to see a7 with the graphics on high which can be enabled by editing the config file found in the obb. The N7 has to be overclocked to the max to make that game smooth and playable when all graphical options are enabled.

I think its also worth saying that all these reviews and demo's have been on the review version of the OS, you can expect more "tinkering" with it before the release, and you can almost guaranty there's gunna be an update avilable as soon as you connect it to the web.
