[Q] Weird Screen Issue... maybe you can help - HTC EVO 3D

I just got this phone from a friend, the black spot in the bottom right corner was there but I didn't think it was going to be a big deal. It seems to be heat sensitive, not tested, just something I noticed. When its really warm the black spots are almost completely gone and in the cold they get bigger. The one on the left side developed over night.
Any thoughts? Is there anything I can do to get rid of them?
Thanks!

Sorry, it wont let me post outside links yet

Does the screen issue cause your phone to post in the wrong section?

Seems like a 'general' question to me, didn't see a 'repair' section.
sorry

Exactly. It's a question. That's what the Q in the Q&A section stands for.

Yeah my bad. Maybe I should have made it an open statement in here.
Like I said, my bad.

Don't let Uncle Lizard get to you. He's a self-proclaimed mod in training.
As for your screen issue, you could take it for repair as it sounds hardware related.

Maybe a little grumpy this morning. Better now that I have it out of my system.

If it actually still has the scondary film covering over it then use a wooden or soft plastic tooth pick to slide up under the screen protector and simply remove it. I would wait until you have a replacement before doing this. I've been a PDA user for years and I learned the hard way early on that the first thing you should do is put on the screen protector or you end up with a scratched screen.

Being "productive" is a relative point of view. Many of us consider you starting a new thread with a double post as non-productive.
I am not being a forum cop. I have just as much right to my posts as you do and the community polices itself. Maybe you also missed that in the forum rules. But we can let the mods decide once they see this.
My opinion is that your initial question is a little ridiculous. Is original protector removable? Really?????
If you are referring to the flimsy protective film that ships on the device? It is removable. Otherwise you would need to try and look through the message that is pre-printed on it.
If you mean the protector that is shipped in the box, well that is also removable if you have attached it.
If you mean ANY screen cover, then the answer is still yes. They are all removable.
I hope that is a productive answer for you and you will drop this silly question.

Thanks for your help but, I don't know if there is any "secondary film" on the screen. Of course I'm not talking about any film with writing on it. My question is, Is there a protector installed on the screen that shoud removed before installing the extra spare that is included in the box? I don't want to start digging around without even knowing if there is a removable screen protector there. I guess what I need to do is call HTC and get the answer. Thanks anyway.
Oh yeah, for the forum cops, I started this second post because I wasn't getting any response from the first.

Ever think that you didn't get any answer because the question was so silly?
If you ask the question 100 times does that make it a better question? I don't see any fine print in the forum rules that states if you don't get a reply you should pepper the board with the question until someone answers you. I guess you have become accustomed to getting an immediate answer to any question you have. It must be nice.
Thanks for the award. It just reaffirms my belief in your intelligence and maturity. Have a nice day.
For the record, there is no secondary, tertiary, or other film on the device. Just slap your screen protector on there like all of us do. It really is not a big deal.

Never buy only a replacement digitizer, it's very difficult (nearly impossible) to separate without breaking LCD: https://www.google.de/search?q=separate+lcd+digitizer
Better buy a complete lcd + touch digitizer "assembly", they have become quite cheap (starting from 15$/€):
www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?Search...e=15&maxPrice=30&SortType=price_asc&isRtl=yes
Pretty cool to have that

but i'm little curious. Apparently the display is ok, just the touch doesn't work. I've noticed that the screen is "transpiring" too much moisture and some screws and springs were rusting. Has anyone tried to find out why the touch fails along the time? its maybe a CI problem or umidity

Well humidity becomes a problem especially when the device temperature is much lower than room temperature (like when coming in from winter/snow ) because the air surrounding the device surfaces cools down and water condenses, even on the inside.. it happens with watches, too..
Or you (or someone close to you) might have dropped it into liquid (toilet?) when you were very drunk
in that case, take out battery IMMEDIATELY, dry clean with a cloth, carefully shake out remaining fluid, then put f.e. into a bowl of dry rice and wait at least 24 hours before trying to power it up..

with some luck, a wayland phone distro will be usable on it someday :cyclops:

(Q) amoled screen black spots, and how fast the screen degrades

Alright, I know if I search, I can find hundreds of articles about how this happens on amoled screens. I am not trying to beat a dead horse, but this will be my first amoled screen. How bad are the black spots? At what point is it bad enough to get a replacement? Being a "power user"(5 hours screen on a day), will the screen degrade before a 2 year contract is up? I jumped on a Rezound when it first came out, and it has burned me, I just don't want to feel let down because my screen went to pot 6 months in. Thanks

Sorry you don't like the answers but here we try again. Every single one of them will have it. Never seen an AMOLED screen that doesn't. Second you could get one worse or get one better. Pure gambling. Also, it doesn't get worse over time.
Apparently all this looking around and searching you didn't bother to read what you found.

Also I got a replacement before because the headphone jack had some static.
Never had an issue. They also cover water, physical and and if it gets stolen so yeah... Not encouraging anything but it is really easy to get a replacement.

Since this is my first screen that is a amoled, i wanted someone with experience with them. I was asking for personal experience, and it was helpful. Thanks guys.

That's weird. My xda app is showing the same avatar for you and the other guy but it is different on the computer. I went off of that. Sorry! Lol. Fooled by the xda app. Thought you were just posting twice because you didn't like my answer before since these threads are so close and your post in this one mimics what I told the other guy too do.
I generally do have a bad attitude on here. Mostly because when I first joined this site people actually read first and read second and read third before doing things. Now people just either post questions without reading or post issues because they didn't read first. I generally give the person crap but still answer their questions. Could be worse and I could just be a jerk.
Also I don't think I ever made ROMs for the incredible?! If I did go me for doing something I didn't know I did! Haha. I've only released two ROMs and they were for the GSIII back when it first came out and no one could figure out how to deodexe them correctly and I decided I was going to learn how to dev and do it myself. That also led me to get a shorter fuse as if I could teach myself as much as I did, then why should everyone else always get a free ride and just be handed answers.
I also am man enough to admit that I got you mixed up with someone else here. Still doesn't mean you should have resulted in calling me names as to be fair we really didn't need a second thread with this as you could have asked your question in the other thread first.

Just thought I'd put this out there. You WILL get AMOLED burn out just by using the phone. The second the display goes on for the first time the organic substrate is already starting to decay, it's just the way it is.
The catch is how long before you start seeing burned in app drawer rings and notification bars all over grey/white images. I'd expect if you use the phone for hours a day with the brightness up pretty high you could start seeing the burn outs in less than 6 months. They claim something like 15,000 hours of lifetime for the blue pixels, which have it the worst of the 3 colors, but people report seeing them in less than 500 hours. Brightness definitely has a huge impact as running with max brightness will result in much faster burn out.
Does it really matter though is another question. Before anyone flames my post and the information I provided as saying "well you're gonna get a new phone in less than a year anyway" just know that not everyone does that. Some people like to ride out their phones until they really feel it's time to get a new one. With this device I'd anticipate people riding it for at least 3 years and being very satisfied even at the end of the third year, with the performance. That means for those people holding onto this device they should be aware of ways to minimize burn out so they don't end up with eyesores 12 months into ownership.
As for the black spots, yep. Every single AMOLED device I've ever owned (around 4) they've all had it. Very disappointed that my Note 2 has them. Not all of them do but I wouldn't be able to tell you the odds of finding one without the splotches. Just know that I can certifiably say I know what to look for when searching for these spots and my brother's Note 2 100% does not have them. At all. Yeah, I am jelly.
So if you want to play the return/exchange game trying to get a display without the splotches good luck to you. Me personally? My display has 0 dead/stuck pixels. This to me is worth far more than a display with no spots but dead/stuck pixels. And that is my 2 pennies.

I have a minor black streak that is only visible when the screen is displaying a black image. Even a small amount of color on the back background makes it difficult to spot.
Overall I am very happy with the Note 2 screen.
my n7100 after a year now its a horror in the dark..first was some dots and now its in all the screen

Manufacturing Defect : Dirt under rear camera Flash (Pictures Attached)

Hello everybody,
I purchased RN 7 Pro on very first sale on flipkart , after using it for about 1 month I noticed few dirt particles under camera flash glass.
Initially I ignored it , but it kept growing day by day. While xiaomi bragged how sealed shut this phone is I didn't expect thing like this to happen.
and by the way my phone was very carefully used without a case.
So , Am I alone with this issue or anyone else is facing it too ??
Kindly check yours and let me know.
Thank You

It's just you and you are posting this in the wrong forum, please refrain from posting such things in the Guides section.

well this was Guides , News & "Discussion" section.
I thought a conversation about manufacturing defect comes under discussion. maybe Real Life Reviews would have been better, will keep it in mind for future.
and by the way thanks for checking on everyone's devices for letting me know it's just me. must have been a monumental task.

Yeah sure, the Q&A section exists for a reason, but people like you clutter this section..Users looking for Guides are instead met with posts like yours which don't help them in any manner whatsoever.
Seriously Bruh? This issue seems to be quite specific to you, and noone has reported anything of such sort.
Maybe if you knew how to access the forum correctly you would have figured that out.
