thats actually a little low...bump your gpu up to 640mhz. that got me a best score of 20091.

Yeah I've seen a few others reach over 20,000.
See if your phone can benchmark with the GPU clocked at 800mhz. You'll see some good scores there

Yeah and it feels much slower in real usage, so who cares about synthetic benchmarks?
Exchanging the DNA for the Note 2 yesterday was the best decision I've ever made. This thing absolutely smokes the DNA in real world performance, most importantly getting around the UI. And the battery life kills it too.
Other than the very sharp screen, the DNA has absolutely nothing going for it compared to other high end smartphones. Not to mention mediocre battery life and laughable storage space. Sense is still awful after all of these years as well. Very slow and heavy.

So that's your secret to getting 7-8 hours on screen time - power saver mode lol. How low does power saver mode clock down the max CPU speed to?
EDIT: Never mind. Power saver brings the CPU down to 1100 Mhz lol Gosh.

I think since Project butter, benchmarks and high power cpu's arent necessary. Unless you do a lot of gaming.

Ok, keeping benchmarks out of it, how is the DNA faster? In which areas? I have also owned both and it wasn't faster at all for me.

The DNA's gpu is much better. I'm sure within the next couple of years that will show with games that will be coming out. On the other hand, I'm sure the Note 2 will still be able to play them with some settings turned down, and the DNA will only be able to hold a couple at a time.

Yeah, I saw the Note 2 has the Mali 400 MP. Isn't that the same GPU that's in the Galaxy S3? If so, I wonder why Samsung didn't 'up' the specs in that department.

looks like that the biggest increases comes from switching between a 266mhz single channel memory interface (s3) to the new 500mhz dual channel one more than from core optimization (which should be still pretty nice as it is cortex-a15-like)

Yes, my sentiments exactly, but the number one reason that I refuse to buy the x one is the lack of removable battery..... hell no to that.
Thank god for this phone. I love the non removable battery, I hate seeing phones that look like they have car batteries attached to them, no wonder why iPhone users think android people are retarded
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
It says that it scored a 4900 on quadrant, but yet blows away the Transformer Prime. I've tested mine and scored an 5088 with Quadrant. Here is my proof. I am not dissing the One X by any means, I am just stating my Prime can pull the same #'s on tests. To me its how well the OS is built for the phone and what kind of developers we have to make what HTC gives us and transform it into a beast.

For me it's more about choice. You don't have to attach those large batteries but you can if you want to. And all my friends who have iPhones say after a year or so they can't hold a charge any longer. But you can't do anything about that on the iPhone. At least you can replace the standard battery on most Android phones.
But yeah two reasons I won't be getting the One is the lack of expandable storage and no removable battery. I have maps and media installed on my phone and that takes up a good portion of the memory. Also, I need to switch out batteries when I cover E3 or CES as that thing gets used a lot for SMS in communicating with the team (talking is horrible with all the noise at these things) and reading emails and appointments.
The performance does look great and I do like the car dock mode for the One. Honestly, if the Sprint variant had LTE, removable battery, and SD Card slot, I'd swap out my EVO 3D for it
I think the phone looks nice but it's not for me. I have the galaxy note which has expandable memory and battery. That's really important for me. Batteries get worn down or are defective. I had an iPhone 4 which came with a defective battery and all I could do is send it back. If it were any other phone I'd just buy a new one and ask to have it reimbursed. Who knows how the battery life will be on a device with that many cores. Hmmm... I'm still not tempted.

Your not comparing apples to apples there...you OC'd nodded the Prime. I'm sure they were comparing it to bone stock on both devices.
The Prime should win out GPU wise from what I've read but rest is at the very least a toss up if not S4 in favor...

I just enabled the 1.6 that Asus put in there after they gave us ICS. Before ICS, the 1.6 config was not in there, but afterwards it was. So we, Prime owners, just enabled it. I have rooted my Prime, but have not unlocked it or flashed a custom ROM/Kernel yet.
Are there screws somewhere on the phone (like the iPhone) that could be taken off to have access to removing the battery?

I would assume there has to be, because there has to be a way for them to replace a faulty battery in case it ever happens.
I to am hating the no memory card and no removable battery.
I'm not bothered by the battery at all. If it ends up being faulty, get a new one. I can see why the people who travel a lot might miss an extended battery, but there are car chargers and a lot of other accessories that can make that more bearable.

Lets see some benchmarks

I'm thinking of upgrading to this device from a SGII. But I really want to be able to tell the difference if I'm going to make this upgrade. Would have went to a sprint store and tested this myself if that were possible.
I was curious and ran a quadrant benchmark and here's what I got
Almost identical as yours. Lol

Just Flash It !!!
Because benchmarks are so useful. The benchmark can drastically change depending on what type of storage you use or other factors that barely effect real performance.

Here's mine, 16gb white us on sprint.
Thanks for the benchmarks. After reviewing the results I may have to pass on this one. It was either a sg3 or a psp and after seeing the gpu scores I'm going to go with the psp vita. [Q] Would you reccommend the Optimus G

I am looking to upgrade from my Atrix 4g at the end of the month, I am looking at getting either the GS3, Optimus G, or Xperia TL, leaning t'words either the GS3 or Optimus G due to the extra Gig of ram. What are your personal pros and cons about the phone? How is the build quality? I see its rootable yet the boot loader is still locked, which to me isn't that big of a deal since I have only unlocked my Atrix to flash CM a few months ago before the ICS update was canned. If anyone is a previous LG user how are they with updates are they worse than Moto or better. Assuming the bootloader is unlocked and CM is ported to it I will run that but as long as stock isn't too slow I am fine with that.
I am a HUGE Sony fan and am so disappointed at both Sony and AT&T for releasing the TL... it's almost like the hardware was unfished and not a flagship device... Everyone knows the sg3 is a great phone but the screen resolution just doesn't cut it... I want to love this new LGOG and if they can iron out some of these little software glitches this will be an amazing phone for LG if the biased tech writers jump on board.

That's why I am looking more at the GSIII and Optimus G, the TL I'm sure is a pretty solid phone but it does seem like it was unfinished, plus I'm not a fan of the AT&T Logo on the front. I figured since the Optimus G is very similar in specs to the new Nexus if we can get an unlocked bootloader we should be fine on the drivers front on getting newer versions of Android working. I do love the look of the Xperia ION and the TL though. The Optimus G is a great looking phone and has an SD Card slot, I'd have to have my 32gb UHS1 Class micro sd card go to waste.
What kind of bugs are you experiencing right now? How is the stock launcher (I will most likely go with Nova Prime right off the bat, which I run on both my Atrix (CM10 w/ 'those' libs) and my TF101 CM10-nightly)

Well the phone has only been out for a couple of days now so I say it's a little to early to say weather the phone picks up. Though you are most likely right. Seeing as the internals are very close to the Nexus 4 though, we might be able to port roms for it with minimal tweaks. I do root and flash roms, but only when I have to, the only device I've regularly flashed to is my TF101 which I flash nightlies every few days.
I can highly recommend this phone. I have only been using it 2 days now, but the battery life is amazing with brightness on at around 63%. From 9:45 am this morning to 6:06 pm now, on high brightness with using the phone like an average user, I have 68% battery left and the is with Eco mode and Power Saving OFF. Very pleased with this phone.

Add One X+ as well to your considerations, but I would say go with the Optimus. Its stock software has its fare share of bugs, but in my opinion, one of the most important factors is the potential. The Optimus has superior hardware to each. Its A15 processor is more power efficient and faster than the other two.

Turned out I was up for an upgrade today, not the 22nd as I was lead to believe, so I picked up an Optimus G on my way home from work, I've only had it for about an hour, but I'm liking it so far.
Edit #1: For those of you who already rooted I'm assuming this is the only method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941699? Any issues with it, did you run it before or after running the OTA update?
Edit #2: I tried it myself, works fine.
I've had it for about 24 hours and, with the exception of the stock LG UI (Already replaced with the new ADW), it seems like quite the rocking phone. When the One X+ gets here at the end of the week I'm going to take a hard look at that and may swap out, but I don't think you can go wrong with this beast!

Lag?

I'm getting ready to switch to Verizon and was interested in this phone, but I keep reading about it having horrible lag. Anyone care to enlighten me with their opinions?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Ive yet to see any lag on my phone. But thats because I actually close my apps when im not using them. So unless you forget to actually close out of your apps you wont have any lag
Sent from my Bonestock S4
Every phone has some lag at times. Everyone's definition of lag is different. What I think is minimal could be horrible to someone else. Phones will always lag. Even the note 3 with iys rumored 8 core cpu and 2+gb of ram will lag. It's not all about processing power, it's about a well optimized operating system
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
Anyone who has lag doesn't know how to setup their phone.
Just changing the CPU governor greatly effects the phones responsiveness/lagginess. Changing the tunables within those govs will change it also. Kernel settings, ram settings, controlling background app functions all completely change how the phone responds.
For performance and no lag I run mine on fiops or deadline with interactive. Interactive set with high speed freq set to the my highest frequency, go high speed [email protected] 70, min sample at 90,000, and timer rate at 18,000. I also change all the kernel's VM settings so that the system writes it's information more frequently and favors the current foreground app and drops old apps more frequently freeing up memory.
Not great for battery but I experience zero lag.
I don't remember stock settings but typically its set to a happy medium with ondemand and cfq. With low ideal frequencies/sync frequencies.

If you use cases with your phone y9u wont notice the cheaper plastic personally I use hard plastic cases on every phone I've owned so the build material doesnt effect me because they all feel the same

I came from nothing but htc devices to an s4. Other than the cheap construction and weaker reception, I love it. I'm not familiar with the g2. Who's making that one?

Oh yeah. They seem like good phones. I'll never own one simply because, well, who has one? Which means mediocre at best developer support. After having a rezound and very little dev support, I will only go with Samsung purely for the features and great rom development or only for flagship htc devices.

All I can think about LG is lame a$$ phones other then the nexus phone. I can't bring myself to even think of LG. They will have to have better phones for awhile before i would consider them. Moto has always had the best quality phones but lack luster update times but that should get better. I have have always had Moto phones but this year i finally went Samsung GS4. Easily the best phone i've had to date.
Personally i never drop my phones and are never in my back pocket so i don't really care much if it's plastic or metal. Plastic just makes it lighter. Plus like a few said once in a case, it matters not if plastic or metal. It's such a ridiculous gripe about plastic or metal. I want the best phone period. That is IMO the GS4.
Meh, just my 2 cents

Benchmarks

Looking for benchmarks from our new n6p. I've done antutu so far. On par with 5x. 45k ish. This is stock on the oldest/first factory image.
I realize our device does not bench great but I've been using it most of the day and it's very snappy more proof benchmarks don't mean much, but if we bench stock then unencrypted, and use custom governed we have something to compare to.
First quadrant
Geek bench
Apologies for the noob question. - but looking at the antutu benchmark screenshot, does it mean that a nexus 6 performs better than the 6p?

You guys are getting low benchmarks...
Ran antutu yesterday and got 57k, and 1310/3950 in geekbench.
Got 62410 in AnTuTu..
?? i get 45k with my 2013 nexus 5, does it heats up or it throtles down too much?
Got this on mine.
Androbench...The NAND is WAY faster than the Nexus 6.

Around 50k?? My OPO gets 48k-49k stock.
Those 62K is more on par of what I expected to see.
Would love to see more benchmark scores. I'm waiting till end of Nov for mine.

OPO is 1080, 6P is 2k. Working harder and using more resources to draw the extra pixels.

Man you quoted me before I edited my post for typo's lol
QHD shouldn't make that much of a difference. Note 5 and S6 have QHD and pulling 66K. Yes better processor but not 16k better.

Remember the S810 is being throttled heavier than the Exynos also.

Thank you! I was about to cancel my order (for the 3rd time). Whoops...... forgot that I started buying accessories to prevent me from canceling again! But glad to see good scores.

Every review and users are saying it's lightning fast but I guess if I downloaded an app that gave me an arbitrary number I would also cancel/sell my phone ?
Coming from a note 5, I don't notice any real world difference. Smoother with no bloat, no aggressive memory management. Runs great!

I may have run that in the first ten minutes of first boot and it may not represent actual readings? Now I've had 1 day of use I ran the test again, however now I'm not encrypted.
