[Q] NFC does not work during Lockscreen - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Hello,
I'm very happy with this phone, the L9 P760 and with NFC.
There is only one problem i encounter with NFC. It works fine but when youre phone gets on standby, it doesn't read NFC tags anymore.
The only way now is to unlock the phone again and it will work again.
I use the standard LG rom with LG Tag+
Is there a way the the phone will read NFC tags even on standby/lockscreen??
thanks in advance

No one???

Am i the only one who encounter these problems with NFC?
I guess that i am not the only one who wants to use NFC on the LG L9...........

Come on, not a single reply?
Really no one using NFC?
:crying:

Is phone rooted?
If yes you can check somethnig in etc/settings. There are lines like a powersave nfc. Maybe is that.

I don't know about tag reading but NFC payments do work when phone is locked (P760).

Oke, never tried it.
I just bought a couple of NFC tags for in my car, at the office, at home just to switch on/off bluetooth, wifi, 3g, sound ect...
The idea was the it would be easy to do all these tasks just by passing your phone along a tag. But if you must unlock your phone first to read the tag, it isn't easy anymore.

NFC tags

I am currently on the fence (don't know whether to get Evo lte out sgs3). I want to know of the Evo well play nicely with NFC tags the same way as the sgs3? Anyone try it out yet?

A thread here about it.
Anyway, I do personally have some and it works awesome especially with NFC Task Launcher. Its integration with Tasker is awesome. I can turn my PC on by just touching a tag (literally).
Thanks a lot!

Disable charging led

Hey.
I'm so annoyed by the charging LED. Both the orange while charging and the green when fully charged! It's charging at my nightstand and can't sleep because of that light
Any app or hack I can apply to disable the charging indicator?
Try lightflow from market.

TI Have Tried Lightflow But It Did Not Work. Is There Any other Way To Disable Charging Light?
You can try putting a stub lights.semc to kill all LEDs.
The problem is I would still like to use the LED for notifications. I only want to disable it during night or/and while charching, Lightflow gives options for both, but is not able to control the LED on this phone.

Put a sock on it.
The LED shines thru.
Little bit of blutac/tape over the led at night?

Yeah! Playing around with tape at evening and in the morning sounds like THE solution! You may wanna to patent that idea!

Why dont you just use the leather cover that was given along with the phone. That should help.
I have the same problem, I wan't to disable the led during charging.
When I bought my phone, no leather cover were given with it. And I can't turn it around because at night it's charging on a dock...

Why is it that people love to give retarded suggestions on this site? Is it to increase the post count of some sort? The guy asks for a way to disable the led, NOT how to turn around the phone. It's NOT what he asked for so why would you pester his thread with stupid replies? It's so annoying thinking that you've found a thread where the 'issue' you are looking to solve, are being discussed, but then it's just a bunch of people with mockingly stupid answers.
It's either that or "why would you wanna do that?" replies, on this damn website. If you can't help addressing the issue, why make the OP think that someone gave him a useful reply in his thread?
/rant
In an attempt to help anyone else who might stumble upon this thread: If LightFlow works on your phone you should just set the flashrate on the "charging" part to have a humongous "off" time. You can't disable the LED completely but I've found that you can make it flash extremely slow for like 10 ms every 1 hour or something. It helps.

Weird or what

My hox+ vibrates when I put my wallet behind it. I checked and its because of my transport card. I was wondering if it is because of the NFC Beam function? And if it will damage my device in any way.

Turning it on actually drains battery? I searched more about NFC and yes phones that support NFC will vibrate with this kind of cards or cards that contain NFC chips . Thanks anyway

[Q] One Touch / Screen Mirroring not working

Hi there
I can't use One Touch Setup with my Z1 and Tablet z2, both 4.4.2, but the tablet ends quickly with this message:
Timeout
Connection timed out. Make sure your device is running Android 4.4. or later and supported for use with One-touch setup. To use this feauture. you must be logged in as the device owner and keep bluetooth on
And of course, my Z1 ends with the same message, but a few seconds later. Could be related with my "unlock-relock bootloader"?
Thanks!
Hmmmm thought I was the only one having issues. My Xperia z Bootloader is also unlocked. I don't believe that's the problem though. Need someone with locked Bootloader to confirm this.

I am able to use both on my 512. I am all stock still and I throw to a C2G mircast receiver. Works fine for me.

My tablet is locked but my phone is unlocked.
He is able to do mirror cast between that TV receiver. Would be great if he can test between a phone and the tablet

Sorry, I know this is an old post but do you know that you're only supposed to have the set up screen active on one device. The other device should be at home screen with NFC turned on.

New solution to unlocking bootloader; $25 cable.

Just starting a new forum to see how many people have done this successfully and to gather details. This is a topic that I am forwarding from Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769 General > [GUIDE/TOOL] Unlocking Bootloader & Recovery ; this discussion is cable specific. I have found the LG 910K USB flash cable online for $25.00, and it seems as if this could be our saving grace to unlocking the bootloader as it allows more data to transfer than the standard micro USB when the KDZ is flashed. This could be the key that will open the bootloader's "door". I am eager to hear if anyone has tried this with success, and have already read a post or two to that respect. (I want CM11!!!)
Just bought one
Well I just purchased a cable online. It is coming from the Peoples Republic of China, so it might be a while before I receive it. Cost less than 20$ USD shipping included. Would love to hear if anyon3 else has made this work.
Method with 910k works. I unlocked bootloader by using this cable

I used octobus box, but some people unlocked bootloader by using offline method. I didn't use it so I can't help you with it.
For the cost of the octopus box, just get the Optimus L90. Not only that, you'll have cash left over for a protective case.

Was the fastboot cable a selective resistance cable? If so, what setting was used? Which KDZ did you attempt to flash?
dumb question, but...
exactly how is a selective resistance USB cable supposed to help unlock the SOFTWARE encrypted bootloader on lgms769's (metro PCs)produced after June(or July) 2013?
my guess is that ppl having troubles unlocking the BL on these devices is more translation and procedural than the actual guides being wrong.
I made a thread about how this fon is kinda like the Motorola droid x with its locked bootloader and how KitKat 4.4.4 was made to work on IT by using safestrap and some other process to,I guess, stop the normal boot process and leaves the fon in a state that allows custom kernals and such to be loaded.
anyway maybe someone can look into this? I'd do so myself but my laptop along with my trusty old droid x got stolen outta my car last week...
assuming a fastboot cable even works with this phone, it wouldnt necessarily unlock it, all a fastboot cable does is kick it into fastboot mode, assuming that we just were having issues getting it into fastboot but still were able to receive the token, maybe it might help in the sense that we could then issue the unlock command.

No the fastboot cable just has two of the wires jumped. I did order the selective one and I will be trying it as soon as I receive it.
It's been quite a ride. ...but I've had enough. I'll be checking back from time to time. Even though I have L90, I'll hold on to the L9 as my backup. Bye for now!

I don't even want to sell my L9 on Craigslist. I wouldn't want to inflict this phone on anyone else. I DO have a conscience.
It makes for a decent alarm clock, at least.

Giving up?!
Just spent another eight hours trying to follow a detailed an extensive Euro_20B flash and unlock procedure. Needless to say, it didn't work.
Thank you Kuma for the awesome locked bootloader ROM. I was able to reflash it after much struggle with a wonky touchscreen ect. Unless someone can show that the variable resistance cable makes a scratch of difference without an octopus box, I do not believe I have the will to try this again.
Is there no hope for this? (06/2013)

No, I don't think there is any Hope for unlocking these encrypted bootloader on the L9's. If this "Cable" method works (which has been rumored for months) you then have to spend the money to purchase a cable and/or an octopusbox. I'd rather invest every single cent into a different phone at this point...
Sorry to hear that you spent 8 hours drudging through the whole unlock process again. I just spent about 8 mins flashing the new Android L developers preview image on my Nexus 5. Lol. Point is I gave up on my L9 months ago and not just because of the encrypted bootloader but, its slow, it lacks features and has terrible internal memory. I couldn't be happier with switching phones.
Yes, kuma82 is a savior and a saint! That's the only way to make it even worth using our L9s.
