Return to t-mobile - HTC Amaze 4G

hey guys im returning my amaze to t mobile, so can i just send it with the stock ruu and re locked boot loader, or they might make me pay extra charges. i wanna return it because the buttons are not working correctly.

Return to stock as possible. Relock and flash RUU should be all you have to do....unless you changed your CID then you'll need change it back also..

Then a simple reflash to RUU will suffice. Good luck! I heard the S3 is having some fun with their rooting...

OK thanks. But at I'm worried about is that its going to say relocked

Is it Possible to Unflash an Evo 3D Flashed to MetroPCS?

I have an Evo 3D which is currently flashed to MetroPCS and I'm interested in getting a new phone, so I want to sell it on eBay or something of that sort. I was wondering if it's possible to revert back to all of the original Sprint settings and make it as if it were never flashed before?
If you really want to have it all back to stock, you need to relock the bootloader and then flash the Sprint stock ruu.
what do you mean relock the bootloader? The phone hasn't been rooted, if that's what you are referring to. I am hoping somebody could give me a little info on how I can do what coal said? Thanks.
Then just run the 2.17 ruu and you should be good

I assumed you were rooted since you said it was "flashed" to Metro. If it is not rooted or unlocked, then you only have to do what iTz said and run the ruu.

Returning ReZound to verizon

So my ReZound is getting way too hot and there are so many different threads with different opinions.
I just want a straight and bold answer...
Verizon care or not if the phone says Re-Locked?
Will I get in trouble or what?
Why take the chance ? Run the release update , then relock and no way in hell would they know . I returned four phones already and not once have they said any thing

I'm S-Off too. So just run the latest gb ota. Then s-on and relock.
In that particular order or...?
do Not not not not lock with jumper hboot. Run the ruu twice , the official gb one , that will restore your hboot , then relock , easy process will save you potential headaches
ask not what your developer can do for you, ask what you can do for your developer.
Yea all you gotta do is RUU back to GB then your fine you don't need to relock because the RUU does that. You can also leave it S-OFF because some are like that anyways I left the one I sent back S-OFF.
Also you only need to run the RUU once as long as when it's done all the items say "ok" next to them.

Ok thank you guys I'm gonna do that
Let's say your on the latest leak and need to send in for warranty will the s- off process work on that leak?

so far all of the hboots and ruu are exploited so yes, even with the lates ics leak ( not sure about .13 though , but mine was on the .10 leak ). so s-off , ruu to gb then s-on , I CAN NOT EMPHASIZE HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO ONLY S-ON AFTER YOU PUT BACK THE STOCK H-NOOT

+1 but you really don't need to S-ON to return it.

How are we supposed to s-on after running an ruu? Is there another way to do it besides the write secureflag command; I thought stock, locked hboot's don't accept fastboot commands?

yes it does

it does accept commands, just not all of them, this one does accept the write secure, try it, it never failed me.
If I'm S-On and on the latest ICS RUU, I can't RUU to gingerbread without S-Off, right? Is the safest thing to do to just install a stock gingerbread rom with some sort of patch?
Edited to add: I'm also on the 2.25 Hboot, which I can't S-Off from, right?
As long as your just returning it to Verizon just flash a stock rom or ruu and they won't notice/care. If you ever had to warranty it with htc though I would lock it down and return the whole phone to normal.
Man, this is good news. I have a hardware issue but I thought that being unlocked meant I'm screwed. I'll run the GB RUU to clear any evidence of being unlocked and request my warranty replacement.

^This.
Only way to get rid of it is to go S-OFF. Then you can use RegawMod's S-ON Tool to restore it to complete stock, with LOCKED rather than RELOCKED in the bootloader.

Part of the process should've included flashing an RUU. Didn't it? It says locked - isn't that what you wanted?

[Q]bootloader unlock question

If I have my bootloader unlock.bin from when I was on 1.05 and now I am on the 2.06. Is possible for me to unlock my phone and get s-off?
U need to go back to 1.15 and unlock the bootloader. Then you can get s off. Look in the stickies section in the development room.
Husker_DNA
i think you should downgrade first

You can still unlock with it.
As long as the unlock.bin is from that device, it should work just fine. Boot into bootloader and see if you have all 1's, or 2's listed on the 2nd or 3rd line down first. If so, give it a try. It will either work, or it won't. Let us know.
From my S-Off DNA
so if i do not have super cid my original unlock.bin code will not work on my original phone

But why do you not have supercid anymore. You will have supercid until you manually put it back.

i did the return to stock ruu method. Wouldn't that remove super cid?
used original unlock.bin and it worked

S-off

I'm not new to rooting, I've rooted Samsung phones, Motorola and nexus. This is my first HTC phone and man is everything different. Could some one please explain to me what S-off is using dummy terms lol. I mean if I root but stay s-on can you still flash Roms?
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Getting Soff can unlock you boot loader and if u do it through htc devs it unlocks your our boot loader but keeps Son but it's you use revone , it would unlock Son to soff and you are able to change CID and flash radios thru hboot but you can flash any rom that is compatible to the htc one but just unlocking the bootloader. You don't necessary need soff to flash Roma but it's good to have off thru if u want to return you phone back to the carrier and remove Tampered and return done back to stock !!!!

I'm not sure the last post was clear for a NOOB. S-On / Off refers to the security of the device. With S-On, the phone will only allow you to flash things built for your device. This prevents you from messing up the phone by flashing the wrong stuff or wrong area of the memory.
You can unlock your phone without S-Off, root it, and flash any ROMs you like, so long as they are for your particular phone model.
