[Q] Ubuntu for Phones/Tablets Image Availability - Ubuntu Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So we all know that the preview images of Ubuntu for Phones and Ubuntu for Tablets will drop tomorrow for the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 (correct me if that's not accurate). Does anyone have any idea of the timing of the release? For instance, should I be reloading the Ubuntu.com homepage at 12:00 a.m. or should I get a good night's sleep?

What no skyGo

It looks like British TV network Sky is starting to catch up with the the pace of Android OS upgrades. Today it's launched a new version of its Sky Go mobile TV app, introducing support for 14 new devices along with Android versions 4.1-4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). Today's update brings Sky Go to a wider audience, after an update over the summer first opened it up to ICS phones.
From our own device history, we can confirm that Sky Go supports the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Galaxy S3 LTE, Galaxy Note 2, Sony Xperia T, LG Optimus 4X HD and Jelly Bean'd Galaxy Nexus, amongst others. Notable exceptions include the HTC One X+ and One S, which unfortunately remain unsupported.
Other changes in the new version of Sky Go for Android include improved navigation and various other UI changes.
so the Nexus 4 and 7 get it but no nexus 10 ?
surely this is some kind of cruel wind up?
I know this is a big joke, im new to the android platform and just purchased the Nexus 10 and Sky Go is the one thing lacking from it right now. So just to add salt to the wounds they update the app but dont make it compatible with Nexus 10. My take onit is just that there lazy!!
I think the Nexus 7 is the first Android tablet supported by Skygo so that is a milestone and the Nexus 10 is sure to follow.
Has anyone tried simply installing the apk?

[Q] what tablet i should buy ?

hi guys
how are you
iam planning to buy new tablet but iam confused dunno what to buy
any help ??
iam thinking about sony xperia tablet s or galaxy note 10.1 or nexus 10
any suggestions
You should get the Samsung Note 10.1.
I love that tab. It has a very accurate digitiser and powerful specs.
Nexus 10 best on the market build quality ah not the best
Personally, I dont like the Nexus 10. The nexus 7 is great though.
Take a look and compare the development threads of both devices and you'll find that Samsung Note 10's development had slowed down a lot. Not much of choices too. If you like ROM and kernel developments, go for the Nexus 10. If you like extra features like S-pen, ext SD and stuff, go with Note 10.
10 inch tablets on android currently are not that great. I would much rather get a nexus 7 :good:

I ave a nexus 7. It's great, powerfull, great gaming experience and it's not expansive. You can buy it, but if you want a 10.1 tablet, nexus 10 has a better resolution, and cortex A-15 processor, or you can wait for the new samsung tablets (coming soon this year).

Android N Developer Preview: Can it be ported

Looks like the developer preview has arrived for Nexus devices. I was wondering that since Hammerhead and Onyx are very similar if it could be ported or if it's a possibility. Here's the benefits of being able to do this:
1. Android N support on release from Google. We would have a fully working ROM the same day Nexus devices see it
2. We can start working on patches quickening the development process.
3. Access to new features that could potentially be back ported to M for stable ROMs
4. A fully developed device tree on launch
5. It's Android N? Who wouldn't want to run it in spite of it being incredibly buggy?
Just a thought.
There is no Android N for Nexus 5, only 5x etc man.

Even then. Just read that. I wonder if it's still a possibility

Not yet. But see Google Git: https://android.googlesource.com/device/lge/hammerhead/
As you can see, Nexus 5 (hammerhead) will have Android N developer Preview, and I think it will be soon.

It seems they're trying to get it to work on 5 but is not for now, you can see nexus 7 too.
For sure it'll arrive unofficially.
I have tried with a good friend to port the preview on Opx. Actually we have a kernel problem. When the phone boot it goes pratically into 2 secs into recovery. We have to wait more time until we get kernel N full sources and study better the situation

General Question about PwnPhone

So I know it can be used on Nexus 5 phones and Nexus 7 Tablets(Atleast that's from what i've read). So my only question is since I can't seem to find anything on it. Can I turn any android phone/tablet into a PwnPhone/PwnTab or is it only on certain devices? Anytime I search all I get are results for the Nexus 7 Tablets and LG Nexus 5 phones.
