yes, stock 4.0.4

Try a usb jig, if that doesn't work i'm afraid your phone is bricked: jtag or mb replacement
+ does your phone get hot near camera when put on charger?

what is usb jig ??
on charger it gets not even warm ;-(

A usb jig is used to force your phone into download mode. Search on google for it: galaxy s2 usb jig.
Try to put it on charger for some time and then see if it gets hot near the camera, if it does then im pretty sure its hard bricked: brick bug.

o.k. i'll try the charger test ;-((

phone stays cool.....

Then i would try a usb jig.
But i have read that this method also worked for a few people

Flashed Custom, Worked fine for a few hours and reboots, now won't turn on

So I flashed SuperNexus to my I9300T and it worked great for a few hours. I had to reboot a few times to iron some bugs out.
Then I looked at it after leaving it for a while, then the notification light was flashing but screen wouldn't turn on. So I pulled the battery and now it won't turn on. I can't get into recovery, power button just does nothing.
Any ideas?

A few times that's more like a bad flash .
Charge the battery
USB Recovery Jig to try download mode flash stock rom ..
Fails then .
Paid for JTag repair is usually cheaper than a service centre repair .

Oh it was OK, just some bluetooth and 3G issues mainly. I've ordered a USB jig.
What would cause a bad flash? I used to flash my old HTC desire all the time never had an issue. I'm going to get a new one (via work) as well as fix this one. I loved the new ROM so I really want to re-flash the new one too...
Ah well back to my iPhone 4S for a while.... ergh

Problem with my SGS2

Hi all ... I've been having this problem with my Samsung galaxy s2 i-9100 lately:
After booting, as soon as it enters into Android, the phone powers off. Also it seems not to be recognizing there's actually a sum card in it. I initially thought might be issue with my battery, but when I am going onto Recovery or Download mode I can clearly see the battery level being high (above 80%) and it is holding power as it should be.
One more thing I would add is that if I leave the phone connected to USB/charger, the phone stays ON and does not shutdown. Though sim card is still not recognized. And then as soon as I remove the USB / charger cable, the phone shuts down...
History: I was previously using Biftor 4.7 ROM , where everything was working fine.. then for some reason I reverted and installed stock ICS 4.0.4 ROM from sammobile.com . It is after installing the stock from that I think I started getting this issue.
I tried upgrading the modem to no avail ...
Current: baseband I9100XXLS6
Current Rom biftor 4.7
Any help and clue appreciated please ...
Thanks
Nitish

He mentioned current rom.
@Nitish. Can you try booting your phone with another battery? And even I once faced sim problem on lsj. It resolved by flashing rom after a wipe.

My brother coming from London end of this month so I asked him to bring me genuine batt and charger.
Mine is genuine too, just wanted to rule out any odds..
However I am 'quite' sure this is not batt related - I didn't see any gradual degradation of charge held by my battery ... and as i already mentioned, if i boot to recovery or download mode , even with the screen lit at all times, the battery does hold on for ages!
I was thinking its maybe modem(baseband?) Related.
When i started getting the issue, to come back, I was on stock 4.0.4 with baseband i9100xxlq6. I tried updating this to i9100xxls6, which is what I am currently on, but same issue.

What rom you flashed ?
Any custom rom available for download mode ? I was once facing issues with screen flashing at boot time and hanging there. Couldn't go to recovery. I fixed by using a custom cyanogen from into download mode .. but I seem to have lost it ...

Still isn't clear for me about current ROM, you were on ics 4.0.4 and went back to Bifort?
Flash this via Odin and see if it flies.
If you still on 4.0.4 beware of brick bug.
And I'm pretty sure batt's got anything to do with this.

Yeah I started encountering the issue while is was on ics 4.0.4 stock .... then for troubleshooting I went back to jb biftor but issue persists.
Yesterday I flashed stock 4.0.4 again then connected to kies . It was saying a firmware update was released: so I downloaded it via kies and updated. Now my device has:
ROM: stock 4.0.4
Baseband: I9100XXLQ6
Build Number: IMM76D.XWLPY
When I issue Settings > About Phone > Status , I see serial number as 00000000000
Is this normal?
Can u tell me about the 4.0.4 brick bug? What about efs?
Apologies for late reply, am using Tapatalk only on Touchpad now ...

i9300 won't turn on

Hi it looks like my phone is hardbricked, but it dosn't make sense how it has happened.
Iv'e been running it with Siyah v1.8.6 Kernel
with Paranoid Android (2.56)on the primary boot
and stock i9300 on the secondary boot
It's been working fine for the past two weeks
I wake up today and the device is dead, It was on charge the charge LED was on.
After unplugging it from the mains it won't turn on or boot into download or cwm.
Any ideas why it's hard bricked?
Any solutions? Just ordered the USB Jig
sudden death, samsung will replace the motherboard under warranty
Condolence buddy.

ahh forgot about about the sudden death issue thanks

dead?

i flashed a rom onto a m8s galaxy s2 after i rooted it the phone was stuck on bootscreen for around 30 min i turned it of and phone will not charge light up or anything ive tryed jig and nothing ive tryed button and nothing battery is fine ive tested it
i thought it would be easy as i have done it on s3 lots of times
is the galaxy s2 dead or can i revive it
Maybe jig is faulty? Have you tried booting into the download mode? It is the same as s3.
If not, try another jig or another battery. Also, try charging it. Does it get hot near the camera when it charges?
If the above fail, you have to JTag, unless you wiped from a 4.0.4 stock rom.

Well its customery (And common sense to be honest) to inform people of relevant information when asking for help.
What exactly did you do/steps you took?
Which rom did you flash?
Which kernel did you flash?
How did you root?
Did you wipe data/factory reset at any point?
Give as much info as possible so that it can possible diagnose what happened.

s2 shows charging even not connected on charger, does not boot until in recovery

hello guys.. hope ur all doing well
i really need help here...
i have galaxys s2 and it has eh following problems
1. it keeps showing charging even when the charger is not connected..
2. when i switched off, it keeps showing battery sign blinking and then dis appear even the charger is not connected
2. when i switched off and tries to power it back on. it does not start until i go to recovery and reboot it,when i reboot in recovery the phone start up
what i did is trying to reflash the phone using Odin on official stock jelly bean but still the same problem, pls guys i need help
thanx
I had this EXACT same problem with my wife's S2. In the end I narrowed it down to a faulty usb board. After I replaced it, all the problems you describe went away.
See this thread, and read the OP in full if you want to try replacement. ..

Thank you keith for the fast respond...
Can you help me understand on what coused this? So that i wont repeat doing the mistake again..
I will try to look on the link you gave... but iam currently in Africa..... i hope i can get the things i need here
In my wifes case, it was moisture in the socket and subsequent charging, but it can also be caused by physical damage to the contacts in the socket....something *might* be shorting with something else which *could* have been caused by incorrect insertion of the charger plug.....or it might simply be 'wear and tear'.......the socket IS the weak point of the S2, and therefore the part most likely to fail first.......

Thank you very much....
Bt iam stil using the phone... i need to prepare myself and get new s2
Mate....try the least expensive option first......this board costs pocket change....and it might save you the expense of a new phone......
