@ALL please upload and share mirror links for all KDZ.

Some people already reported what in hidden menu on P765 with official V20B absend "Bootloader Unlock Check". So I've suspecting what in P765 oem-unlock won't work

so how it is smooth ? great ? bad ? how ? any new good apps? latest launcher? bloatwares?
Baseband should be different coz they release different BB for different regions. BB contains the Variant Name also like ... P765, it should be different than P760 though version number could be same.

Maybe, i compared versions: "L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1232.00", they identical...
What I've noticed - after flashing and factory reset - internal memory is about 2Gb free, compared to P760 where was about 1.6G

"adb reboot oem-unlock" brings my phone to fastboot.
I've flashed CWM, rebooted phone into recovery mode, flashed root.zip
So my P765 CIS V20B now have normal CWM and working root

[Q] p760's firmware on p765?? Is it possible?? has anybody tried it yet

Has anybody tried flashing firmware's from different variant's of Optimus L9
the reason I am saying this is p760 will be unlocked in the next OTA update.
yes you heard it right p760's bootloader will be unlocked in the next update.
So I was thinking if p760's firmware is compatible with p765 or not ????
I think it would be worth to try flashing firmware of p760 on p765 !
they both are identical and the only difference between these phones is gorilla glass. IMO
I know it would be very risky. but it would be worth the risk.
It would be nice if two or more people could confirm that p760 firmware works on p765.

In first hour the phone is functioning great. Saw some improvements.
1) Noticeable more responsive screen
2) Faster and Smoother than before.
3) Data and Apps were not lost (after this Offline FOTA) so checked all options and apps, were seen working fine.
3) The most important thing is Outstanding Full Network. Was having 2/3 bars inside my home, now it FULLLLLLLLL

Based on the confirmations should we think P760 firmware is indeed compatible with P765 !?
what do you guys think? Is it safe to flash P760 rom on P765 or not.

MG is unlocking the bootloader? Would you please share the source of the information you just gave?
You need to compare the two phones to the bone to see if there is any difference
go ahead then do it. you will brick your phone

Yeah you right, if we could somehow compare all the variants of L9 and make comparison/compatible chart for the ROMS that would be really helpful for the L9 community.
I wonder if there is way to try find whether the rom is compatible or not, something like RUN/debug the ROM on the device without flashing it. I wonder if it is possible to that.

OMG, you are really brave. I think you are the first person to try that. Are you sure all hardware and features working well. I will also give an immediate try.
Actually I do guinea pig myself and my L9 always, but this time just want to re-confirm for some more confidence.
The difference between p765 and p760 I think just in the NFC feature (cmiiw). I installed the firmware 10A Baltics only for downgrade from firmware 10C Indonesia. Since I can not downgrade to 10B Indonesia for the purpose of rooting, so I try to use p760 firmware 10A Baltics. And it worked. I am not really sure if "all" hardware and features working well since i use it only for couple of hours but phone, texting, data, wifi and tried some important setting were working fine.

wow, glad to hear it, data and apps will always be there after you update the fw using that method
My 765 running v10C screen is not so responsive, think I'll give 10G a try
Btw, 765 is flashable with 760 version and it works. I tried Europe version.
I've tested the stability etc etc
The only not working is the NFC and camera.
Dunno if the others have camera problem too like me, but it can be solved by using 3rd party camera apps like camera360 :good:
Now, I'm downloading the 10G and gonna give it a shoot on my 765 :fingers-crossed:

Good News! For LG Optimus L9 p760, Its Bootloader has been unlocked via JB update.

After 3 months. ie. on 13-3-2013
As spokesperson from LG promised, LG has finally released Jelly bean update for Optimus L9 with unlocked bootloader. Hip hip hurray... :victory:
here is the original post:
I recently contacted LG regarding unlocking of bootloader of LG Optimus L9
They told that Optimus L9 p760 EU will be unlocked via next OTA.
But they’re not sure about the other variants because operator’s decision hasn’t been made yet.
I think this would greatly help the developers owning P760 EU.
I just hope it helps other variant's of Optimus L9 aswell and just hope there's is not much different between other variants hardware wise.
Specially p765 which is almost identical twin in terms of specs.
Here’s the original reply from LG spokesperson:
Dear DavinderSingh
Thank you foryour interest about our mobile phone.“We received your request on LG Open Source Code Distribution site (http://opensource.lge.com).This site isjust for providing source codes of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) we haveused in our product.”
P760 EU Open will beunlocked on next version update. We estimatethat you can receive the version during the first quarter of this year. But we arenot sure that the other models because operator’s decision hasn’t made yet
We hope thisinformation will help you.Thank you.
Sincerelyyours,

Wait wait wait. Dont jump too high. Its LG pals.
When they say next version update, they really must be meaning "next version update", but they have not told exactly when. So just wait until it really comes.
They said LG Optimus 2x will be given ICS in August 2011 (was printed on box too) then they said 2012Q1, then said 2012Q2 (facebook lg italy) but finally they released it in Dec 2012.
I hope this is not the same kind of TROLLING with us. lol I am not being so negative, but its really hard to believe this company.
EDIT: BTW, Mr. Davinder Singh, how did you get P760 in India? Officially LG L9 released P765 in India, its on website too. Nothing about P760 on indian section of LG.
@cmahendra sir i have LG optimus L9 p765 asian version same as your.
Re: Good News! For LG Optimus L9 p760, Its Bootloader will be unlocked via OTA update
I wish someone would pull their boot.img and recovery.img from the other variants so I could compare them to see if one variant that has an unlocked boot loader would be a universal fix for the entire L9 range.

Pull boot.img and recovery.img from which version? Can't you do that?
I saved this procedure long time back, but its FOR LINUX ONLY from Galaxy Ace thread. Not for windows user like me.
Download this: http://www.mediafire.com/?zdw766gu35o0fb6 to follow readme.txt that is included. (It's for Linux)
---------------------------
Europe have only V10A for P765, this also means next update will be most probably V10B. I think all experts should check V10B from all countries, may be they are unlocked too.
I had asked LG guy info on bootloader unlock for all the variants L9 , The Lg guy only told me about p760 eu.*
I guess angryGTS wants to compare all the boot.img,recovery.img but he only has his own boot.img/recovery.img.
Lets make a table of Features/Differences and ROM compatibility chart for Lg optimus L9 variants.
Re: Good News! For LG Optimus L9 p760, Its Bootloader will be unlocked via OTA update
Right. I only have the P769BK. I would like to compare the other variants mount ponts, boot, etc to see if they are all equal on that aspect so we could possibly get a universal bootloader if they arent already the same.

Bootloader is very important part of Android and it is made proprietory by each manufacturere. If bootloader of P760 is working on P765 without issue then probably at least these two L9 variants have matching bootloader. I may be wrong. Tell me.
PS: By the way V10G is officially released for P760.
Re: Good News! For LG Optimus L9 p760, Its Bootloader will be unlocked via OTA update
You are absolutely correct but since these are the same phones in essence minus some small difference like smaller screen and lack of NFC for the P769 and a couple other minor differences in hardware that shouldnt effect the way the phone boots or the mount points for recovery etc. Thats why i wish someone with the other variants would either pull the boot and recovery or at least post the mounting points like on the thread for the P769 in the Development section. (If what i typed made any sense lol)

Now we know that P760 KDZ is working fine on P765, this means both bootloaders are same or bootloader of P760 works perfect on P765.
This also means if we have UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER for V760 (europe), it will also be used as unlocked bootloader for P765 Roms. Wild guesses, though, but please tell me if this is wrong.

On device you must use dd utility from console or ADB:
dd if=/dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.1/by-name/recovery of=/sdcard/recovery.img bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.1/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img bs=4096
That's all, in /sdcard you have two files... Don't know if dd present in stock firmware, but with busybox it's definitely works.
With .KDZ a bit harder...
By the first you must extract .KDZ file - LG-P970 ROM COVERTER 2.1.exe, what I found on this site, works just great (there an other utils, but this best, thanks for it's author). This utility converts .KDZ in to two files: LGP765_V10E_00_AP.bin and LGP765_V10E_00_CP.fls (in my case).
LGP765_V10E_00_AP.bin - that's unpacked firmware.
Now you should grab some HEX editor and get recovery and boot images from .bin file (I used xvi32). Find "ANDROID!" strings (case sensitive!).
The first occurrence will be something like this "boot linux from emmc: mmc failed to read bootimg header ANDROID! boot linux from emmc: bad boot image magic", search next. After you find this string, just after "ANDROID!" you have structure, described in bootimg.h header (http://www.netmite.com/android/mydroid/cupcake/system/core/mkbootimg/bootimg.h). You must get size from there and cut .img file with this size from .bin
Then you must use split_bootimg.pl perl utility to extract files from .img images. In windows you must have perl installed or use CygWin. I have Linux notebook, so I used Linux on this step, because it's simpler and faster...
Sorry for my english, I'm not used to write such manuals

How can i do the hard reset?
WARNING: Do not flash P765 and P760 kdz/roms on P769 and P768. They wont work due to hardware differences.
P769 will end up with permanent touch issue and P768 will end up with dead camera issue (no idea if permanent or temporary).
Flash back to any old rootable KDZ for P768 and update to latest via OTA, if possible. Not guaranteed if camera will ever work or not. Whatever you do further more take necessary precaution and try to restore.
@thomasoeli, congrats for being guinea pig for all And finally it is confirmed that Camera dies after flashing P760 roms on P768. Rest of p768 pals, learn from this.

@amnik and @codearm2,
Both of you have P765, his problem with P768 is different than yours. Seems you have not noticed his variant and do not exactly know what has happened. Your innocent advices can mess his device further more. Dont make yourself responsible for more issues. Some P769 pals have damaged their touchscreen permanently with mirrored touchscreen issue coz they flashed P765 on P769.
Probably "thomasoeli" is the first person who flashed P760 on P768 till date. At least I dont remember anyone else who did that.
Back to V10b (ICS)
I have good news! I have downgraded to the original firmware V10B with KDZ. After this, i do a hardreset. Without this, the phone is not started.
The camera now works perfectly!
But, the phone is not rooted for now. Can i rooted again with CWM?
Thanks for your help.

I have good news! I have downgraded to the original firmware V10B with KDZ. After this, i do a hardreset. Without this, the phone is not started.
The camera now works perfectly!
But, the phone is not rooted for now. Can i rooted again with CWM?
Thanks for your help.

congratulations you can unlock your bootloader using JB firmware then return to v10x ics and still have unlocked bootloader. So doesnt matter if your camera didnt work on jb you can flash custom roms that recently came out as well as recoveries as long as if you have unlocked the bootloader during your time on JB.

Basicly the p768's bootloader can be unlocked using the method previusly for p765 without damaging hardware.

You forgot to mention a person, who tried that first to be a guinea pig for P765, for all.
Then I flashed the original firmware, also stand in the top the bootloader is unlocked.
Is the boot loader after the complete downgrade still unlocked?
In which way can I root my P768 again? Is this still possible?
The versions confuse me somewhat.
One more question: Can I actually flash a one rooted firmware (ICS) for my P768? When it is available.
I thank you.

Please read Opening Post carfully, it clearly says will work only for ICS.
ANOTHER NOTE: If you do not see KDZ from your own country, try to find in this thread and MAKE YOUR OWN HEX-EDITED BIN FILE FROM THAT KDZ for above rooting.
Choose any P768 you want from list. Good Luck.

Good morning,
I did last night successfully created the bin file from my KDZ. Today evening I will probably flash the rom again and replace the bin file.
If everything works and the Rom is rooted, I'll put the BIN file for the P768 for all available.

V20B Europe Open P760 KDZ | Where can I find it?

Hi,
So I need the V20B (Europe Open) KDZ file for the P760. Does anyone have a download link for it? And if not, will V20H work for unlocking the bootloader on the LG-P769 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198114&page=29) using that tutorial, and he says use the V20B one, but I tried using the link and it doesn't work. Please help.

Hi,
I've checked that link, it just has V20H, which I've tried and doesn't work.
Xda member Polloos had a spanish site with most roms for the L9.
I unlocked the bootloader with v20c back then. Some custom roms need the baseband fimware of v20o or v20p, like Artas' Cm11and seemingly Rammar515s PA. So I would use v20b or c only to unlock the bootloader and then update.
Alright then, thanks.

new update - v20b-sep-11-2015

hey guys,
i just got a notification saying there is a new update available for my beloved mini.
-> d620r in europe
-> v20b-sep-11-2015
well, my problem is the following:
i am rooted, have a patched bootloader, twrp recovery and xposed (with several modules, for example xhalo)
can i update? what will the update do to my configuration? can anyone tell me what the update contains? (is it worth it?)
thanks

I do hope Tse™ could provide us flashable copy of v20b (I'm using his flashable 5.0.2 version complete with TWRP and SU) if it is not troublesome...also curious to know what update LG did.
back to the topic, i don't think you will be able to update since your current rom has already been modified, usually update works only on non-rooted unmodified rom
I flash the 20b.kdz and now i cant root, Kingroot-lg one lick root, towelroot, Purpledrake, etc.. Nothing working..
Still nothing for Serbia ...I do not know if it's safe to flash Germany kdz ?

That is actually 26 aug, our v20b is 11 sep.
Ok so i updated to V20D and kingsroot it's working. When you get that error message, just continue.
620LTE.
so v20b = v20d? im guessing just branding but both do contain the same content?
been using v20b for a couple of days now and i'm very much happy with the improvement (as a poster said, second life to stock rom and it is very much usable now)
