(YP-GS1/3.6) (Solved) Touchwiz and keyboard no longer there after factory reset? - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

**This issue is solved, thanks to safariking and MrBrubble!**
I even flashed it, this is always the end result, factory reset, or flash:

Even connecting to Wi-fi is hopeless, due to no keyboard:

Hello Galaxy3.6,
Follow these steps (Read before do!!!):
1. Download the CWM Insecure kernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1864741
2. Download safariking's great KingOS from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41671701&postcount=1
3. Be sure you installed Odin and Kies
4. Flash the insecure kernel
5. Boot into CWM: shut-down the device; press home-button, vol-down and the power button at the same time; when your device shows the samsung logo you must release the power button; wait until it shows you the CWM logo
6. Clear everything
- Format data
- Format system
- Format cache
- Format dalvik-cache
7. Mount USB storage with CWM
8. Copy the KingOS *.zip-file to the player (Intern SD card!)
9. Unmount
10. Go back, select "Install zip from sd-card"
11. Select "Choose from sd-card"
12. Choose the KIngOS *.zip-file and say "yes"
13. When the installation finished, you have to reboot your player (The first boot can take up to 10 minutes!)
14. Now you can revert back to stock OR stay on KingOS
Let me know if this helps, if you need support, feel free to pm me !

For flashing via Odin DO NOT BOOT INTO RECOVERY MODE. Boot into DOWNLOAD MODE. here is a description below.
The Samsung drivers must be properly installed and phone recognized prior to flashing with odin.

administrator. Odin will open.
2. place your phone into download mode. Turn off phone - press and hold volume down, home
button and power button at the same time. When you see the warning push the volume up
button to continue.
3. Plug your usb cord to your phone and computer and wait until you see any number and com
in the com
4. Check the PDA block and browse to the tar file you would like to flash.
5. that settings are correct for what you are doing
When all this is setup Odin should look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

[Q] Problems Flashing to CM 10.1...from EH03

The phone immediately restarts... the samsung logo appears with the cyanogen mod logo....boots into recovery and I come to find out that my CWM was updated to CWM (6.0.3.3).
"Warning: No file_contexts" appears at the bottom of my screen and presents an error when I try to access my SD card. "E:Can't Mount /sdcard/
I know how to get it back into working order with EH03....I just want an operating system to instal that is firmware 4.0 or above...
Thanks.

Back to stock rom form cm13

hello
I'm so confused.
Please help me how I'm going back to the stock (3.1.3) rom from Cm13 best way and safe.
Thank you
Download Oxygen OS 3.1.3 full ROM
Download MM based unofficial TWRP
Downloaded Modded SuperSU if you want root
You will require a PC with WinRAR & Notepad++, because as we are running custom ROMs the zipwill give an error 7 saying that The package is for OnePlus, this is an onyx, we need to remove that.
Don't worry, its super easy.
- Download the OOS3 zip, copy it to your PCs desktop
- Open it with winRAR, dont extract it, just open it
- There will be a META-INF folder, open it
- Then open com, then google, then android, there will be 2 files here, updater-binary & updater script
- Double click on updater-script
- It will ask which app to use to open the file, then select to open with Notepad++ (designate it from its installed directory if it isn't visible in the initial list)
- The file will look like this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- Delete the entire first line that starts with getprop
- Now it should look like this
- Now press Ctrl+S to save the file and close the window
- WinRAR will ask weather to update changes in the archive, say yes to that
- Let it finish its job
- Done !
Moving on the the flashing now...
Assuming you are using official TWRP with your CM13 now,
- Copy the modded OOS3 zip into your Device
- Boot into TWRP recovery
- Wipe system, data, cache & dalvik/art cache
- Flash the modified OOS3 zip
- Let it complete
- After it completes, press the wipe cache/dalvik button below
- Now reboot to system
- Complete the initial setup
- Goto settings, unlock developer options by tapping 7 times on build number in about phone
- Enable advanced reboot
- Then reboot to bootloader
- Flash the MM based unofficial TWRP via fastboot
- Remember to boot into this newly flash TWRP before booting into system so that it doesn't overwite it
- Done

Actually, you want to update to 3.1.3, right ? Then you don't need to go back to OOS2 then again OOS3, the method i gave above will work as intended, its tried as tested by many users along with myself.
As for not requiring Root, just dont flash the SuperSU zip.
Keep the TWRP, its handy.
Also, press the thanks button on bottom left corner of my post, no necessary to say it in the reply.
I need to go back to stock rom for Exercise responsibility
thank you again
Hello,
I followed these instructions and It worked perfectly. (Note that I was coming from CM13)
Thanks a lot !
Thanks for the great description!
A question, just in case, I would go back again go to CM13 , can i then just import my old backup via the modified TWRP, or I have to note something again?
Thanks in advance!
