Screen smearing / tint issues ?? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

What about it folks - anybody having these issues reported repeatedly in the other S4 forums?

Guess not..............
That's good news - was a little concerned considering the posts across the different carrier forums.

[Q] Screen issues in German RAZRs?

I really like the build quality and the look of the RAZR, but I live in Egypt and I don't know when it will be released here..
I will be in Germany next month for couple of days and wanted to buy the RAZR from there, but from reading the reviews, I'm afraid that I may buy one that has the screen spots issue and I'll not have enough time to get a replacement...
So my question for the people in Germany, do you also complain about the same screen issues?
Also if you have any suggestions for trusted places selling this phone in Berlin, that will be appreciated
Thanks
I bought mine in Sweden and don't have any issues.
I would guess Germany and Sweden get the same builds.

Countless meaning 5-6 on both AndroidForums and here?
"The RAZR display uses a new high efficiency OLED material. These screens may in some cases exhibit slightly darker regions, like you've noticed. Because the darker regions are only visible when viewing the black screen in a very dark environment, they will not interfere with general use. Most importantly, they don't change over time and are typical for this generation of OLED material. They in no way indicate a problem or defective screen."

Forums sure can be annoying at times. Especially when people read a few threads and assume all the phones are the same. Don't forget, we, the forum people make up a tiny percentage of users. Out of us forum people many of us don't have those issues. You do the math, if you wanna base your phone purchases off of words rather than real life good luck.

How many users who do not have this problem have created threads about NOT HAVING this problem?
How many people have had this phone for at least a week now? 1000? 5000? 10,000? Or maybe more? How does that compare proportionally?
Quite happy with mine, screen quality is the terrific. There, one happy person to give the rest hope. Just stare at it in all environments with all sorts of back ground colors?? What the heck, you should be able to use it for a day in and out (or before you leave the store) and determine through real world use if it suits you eyes. I came from a atrix 4G so maybe I am used to crap?? And this thing looks awesome in comparison??
edit: I do see them now, have to be looking though. If you memorize where they are, you can problem obsessively watch them and grind you teeth. If no one had ever shown me what they look like I would have never found them... still dont care, and it still is a great screen and if you have a OCD go nuts.
I read too many mixed reviews about this issue which made me not sure if this issue will be annoying to me or something that I can live with it..
Anyways thank you everyone ...and I still need suggestions for places to buy the RAZR from Berlin with good price?

I'm pretty sure this is related to the black crush issue. It's just that the guy in the video uses ink as a description. I can appreciate his description, as it does look a little bit like that. But yeah, this is the same problem as the black crush problem.

I think too much of a hype is being created about the screen bleed issue.
I am of the opinion if the screen bleed is not interfering or degrading Ur phone experience including videos watching and day to day use, forget about it. As it is everybody concurs that this condition does not get worse with use
Everybody has different perception about what they want and no point in losing Ur peace of mind, just enjoy the phone.

True that I'm also seeing useless posts from everyone Owing new poco f1 it's not that big issue LCD panel does have this problem many premium companies also had this problem in thier products that used lcd panel, some people does have major bleeding and for that matter Xiaomi is replacing handset as said by jai mani on twitter. PLEASE PEOPLE STOP SPAMMING XDA AND TWITTER IT'S NOT THAT BIG ISSUE and many of us don't have this issue. As i said some people does have major bleeding and they should go to nearest service centre instead of spamming everyone and quoting heads of project after they answered what we can do about it. Peace.

Question [CLOSED] ANYONE KNOW WHEN 12L BETA MIGHT BECOME AVAILABLE FOR PIXEL 6 SERIES?!

That's it, not much else to add...anyone knows/heard anything on this, an update would be grand. I've not been able to dig up
nor waterboard anyone on this topic! Lol (ty)
p.s. I'm aware that many patrons of our Pixel 6 series are still plagued with ongoing issues, but a friend inside said that's not necessarily it (the cause for delay)?
No idea. Sadly no communication from Google as well apart from "coming soon" since beta 1.
GSI is showing in "DSU Loader" but we are not able to boot into that.
I am pretty disappointed with how the updates are being handled for p6 series.
I am having a Samsung kind of experience, w.r.t. software updates, after buying p6

makes sense, & I'm very colorblind so not something that's been catching my attention.

Every OLED panel I've ever had has had green tint in a dark room with dark mode.
People really need to stop going and looking for issues. If you have to tell someone how to look for it, it's not an issue.
What is the purpose of starting this thread when there is already a thread on this subject?
Just curious, because I try to read all threads in the Pixel 6. And it gets annoying with this type of nonsense.
Seaching and reading benefits everyone.
Would you be signing up for android 12L beta? Why?
Given android 12L beta 1 is due in few days would you be giving it a try on your P6? What would be your main reason for this? For me: Dynamic color on boot animation :P May be better dynamic color on UI. Just like to stay on top of updates :D

That's complete bs dude.. Don't try and justify your purchase.. I've NEVER had the green tint on any amoled device. Period. Maybe some light bleed on back lit devices. But nothing like this. My $1099 12 Pro Max has a green tint if I put in the exact conditions you describe. So does my Pixel 3 XL. The only *OLED device I've ever had that I'm certain didn't have it was my Samsung Captivate.
My point is that I'm sick and tired of seeing people tell people to go look for issues. If they didn't see it before, it wasn't an issue until you made it one.

It doesn't matter if I have one or not, I'm going to call out stupid BS when I see it. Having people check for insignificant issues they didn't even know about just makes people who were previously happy with their purchase unhappy because once you see something, you can never unsee it. People need to stop spoiling other people's happiness. Like this thread wasn't even started about the "defects" of the device, they were brought up to someone who just finished saying they were happy with their device! It's ridiculous.

I'm sick of people like you who can't be objective and see the issues for what they are and have to push your little self conscious bias on us who ARE having issues. Just because some may not be having issues doesn't mean the rest aren't. And who's to say those that "aren't having issues" really aren't, or maybe they just haven't noticed OR just prefer to ignore it. Of course there's people like you and vandy who completely deny that there are issues. "Uh the green tint is a sweet feature, what you mean"

I'm not denying that there are issues. My problem is people like you who think it's your job to tell someone who's happy with their phone about the issues it likely has. Stop ruining people's enjoyment of the device just because you demand perfection. You came into a thread that wasn't about device issues and told someone who just finished saying they were happy with the device that it's likely defective. Just knock it off. Keep your misery to yourself and threads designated for it. I'm not going to reply to this any further because I don't want to make work for the mods but it's just not cool to ruin other people's experience with their devices.

Ruining people's happiness lol. Grow up dude. If there's an issue with my device I didn't know about, I sure as hell would like to know about it, whether it affects me or not. If the problems don't bother you that's great, kick rocks. But people should and have the right to know that these issues are prevalent and widespread. If they aren't affected or choose not to care, that's great. But at least they have the information. Your argument is weak sauce

What has caused ROM and kernel dev to be so anemic with this phone?

In the past, Lenovorola phones have usually seemed to garner a large dev community. Given thay this phone is not only a flagship, but also has a common Qualcomm SoC, why is there so little development behind it? Is there some proprietary blob absence that I've missed in my research?
