[Q] SD Card Options - Xperia Tablet Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
Just purchased the 16GB variety XZT. I went with this model because of the onboard option of expansion. However, I have never done this with any device I have owned. Does someone have a recommendation of a card that will work properly with the XZT. Thanks in advance!

I've got a Samsung 64gb sdxc card in mine.

Just pick up any 64GB SDXC card. Sandisk, Kingston or Samsung, they're all good.

I just ordered 64GB Samsung card and it should come to me tomorrow. I will confirm it works or not when I test it.

Sandisk 64GB SDXC exfat works fine, as well as Sandisk 32GB

Which micro sd card?

Hi guys, I am thinking to get some additional memory for my beloved sgs2 and I am thinking of 16gb one, but I don't know which class of the card to buy. I can get class 4 for 15-18 euros, and class 10 at around 30. What would you suggest? Thanks

Sandisk mobile ultra class 4.

i have this one: Kingmax microSDHC 16GB Class6 and is working great.
It's very fast and did not make any problems so far.
There is a picture of it:

Sandisk all the way: they'recreliable and fast. Class 4 ones are pretty good: unexpensive and still really fast.
Thanks for replies! How much of video in full hd can be stored on 16gb card? Good thing to know that class 4 is not slow as the guy in the shop told me.

It says that it supports up to 32gb because 64gb micro sd is barely on the market.
it should support it as my skyrocket does and the spec sheets only say 32

Yes, but they have been reported to work on nearly all 2011 phones. Don't see any reason why they wouldn't work here.

The microsd socket may support microSDXC like all other GS2 models do. But the native Android OS does not support exFat the microSDCX cards should be formatted. But for most 64GB microSDXC cards out there, they all are formatted as fat32 for compatibility reasons. But in the future, when bigger cards come out (microSDXC can reach 2TB capacity) and are formatted as exFat, they will not work.
microSDHC, the current standard, tops out at 32GB.
microSDXC, the new standard, starts at 64GB all the way to 2TB.

Does it come with a micro sd card?

Does the note come with a micro sd card? If not would you go class 4 or class 6?
No. Have to buy it separately. I got class 4. But it depends on you.
Either class should work fine. Amazon has a Samsung class 10 32GB for like $50.
I heard newegg has the 32gb class 10 for around $40, I'm throwing my 16gb card from my hd2 until I get a 32 gb.

I broke down and got the new Sandisk 64GB class 6. Seeing as I'm a media hog, 80GB is welcome.

Cool, getting it tomorrow then.
The international version came with a card. Small, i think it was 2 or 4gb but at least it was something

oh ok thanks. Wouldn't a class 10 be overkill? And why did ATT cheap out on both the earphones (doesn't bother me much) and the micro SD card!?!?

http://blackfriday.com/stores/best-buy/flyers/black-friday/page-17
was $35 a couple days ago shipped free. I ordered 2 should be here monday/tuesday
I REALLY wish they would get with it and and release a 128gb card. I keep filling the damned 64gig cards and its only going to get worse with my new affinity to 4k video
I went to Best Buy on Friday and bought the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. I wanted a 64gb mem card to got with it. They had the pixtor 64gb sdhc on sale for 34.99. The store I was at was out of stock. They called a store not far away and allowed me to do a mso order. Which is where I pay for it at the store I was at and pick it up at the other store. I ordered 2 cards at the 34.99 price. Well I went Saturday to pick up the cards and the employee gave me the cards. She gave me the SDXC cards which were 64.99 instead of the SDHC cards. Win/Win.

You got the cards you paid for. BB just described the product incorrectly. SDHC only gets as large as 32gb. Beyond 32gb in capacity, it must be SDXC. SDXC goes up to 2tb theoretically. And there is no bonus to having one over the other I don't believe. It is the class that determines speeds, which is where people pay premiums for a same sized card. Hope I helped.

SanDisk ultra still considered to be one of the best. I have 32gb version almost 3 yrs with no issues . Lexar makes a decent one also but I have personal knowledge.

Samsung's honestly. Faster than the comparable class# sandisk, even when used in a phone, (the difference is even more pronounced on PC) and I have seen reports of sandisk failures. (But that may just be a artifact of the total # of cards). I've had my samsung UHS 1 since launch. Works great.

I have a 32 and also 64 GB sandisk SD card I've had no issues out of them but I do know there was issues and they replaced any of them in said batch.
I have a sandisk ultra 32 and its never given me issues. They can be pricey but you get what you pay for (usually).

SanDisk ultra 32g class 10 has been good to me. Thinking of getting an Extreme 64g at some point though.
