1st Step comes from a chinese tool:

1. Enable Android debug mode
2. Execute the program (click root on the bottom right), wait for the phone reboot.
after reboot.
1.go setting >back up and reset> Factory data reset.
not yet finish follow the 2nd step.
2nd Step
Using Mtkdroid tools
Download Mtkdroid tools
1.Connect your device. make sure that you enable USB debugging.
2.click root (after execute)
3.click reboot. Congrats. your phone has been rooted.
-if the step 3 in MTKdroid Tools does not work... go to 2nd tab root,back,recovery.. click the SuperUser then click reinstall superUser and mobile uncle tool. then click reboot on bottom.
This is the step that i'm using to root my device LG Optimus L5 II E450
but you can try to skip the first step.. but when its not working, Just follow all the steps above..

tried it again, this time i did the factory reset i did not the last time.....
still no root yet, but it got chinese superuser installed.
installed english SU version, and tried to update binary (guide in other thread) but SU can't get root access to write in internal memory.
now i'm stuck with chinese SU and no root....! (root checker basic = device does not have proper root access)
anything else i can do to root it? ....or at least how to remove chinese SU?
btw,
it's a E460 not E450..... maybe that's the fault.....

Tried the root method shown in the other thread. Literally run the chinese program and get chinese root installed. Install Superuser, update binary then disable the chinese root (had some trouble with it when I uninstalled it so just disable it). Done.

it did ask for permission, but after installing SU englich version,it could not write the binary update.
i installed the english SU version right after, thought everything went well, but apparently it didn't.

i did it again, this time i reset the phone both times (before step 1 and before step 2)...
again no root access.
then i tried again and did this, although mtkdroid tool worked as expected:

Hello,
I follow the process my phone is rooted, but when I use link2sd it says :
"App2sd is not supported by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. You can link the app in order to move its file to the SD Card"
And when I try to create link I have :
"Second partition Not found
/dev/block/: device not found
Make sure you have two partitions on your SD Card and both are primary"
Do you have an idea please.

1.having 2.2.2 (india) can i unroot it again and which app is most suitable for this?
2.is this illegal?
3.I know this thing void my warranty but any problem happen to my mobile mobiler repairer will repair it?
4.I know this thing void my warranty but if any problem happen to my mobile will mobile repairer will repair it?
5.can I update official firmware of lg optimus one 2.3?
I also heard that
there is app2sd app that can move any application to sd card is that true and how?

1. You can unroot after rooting. Use Gingerbreak app to root/unroot.
2. No it's not. If this was illegal, there would not be such a big community supporting it.
3. If you do all the steps properly, you will have no problems with your phone. Even if your phone gets bricked, tell the LG care person that you messed up with your phone while updating the firmware through the LG support tool.
4. You've repeated the same question twice
5. Yes you can. Download the official firmware from the forums and flash it through KDZ.
And please don't open up new threads like this for such basic stuff. Read the forums and use the search button. See this thread first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901247

There is app2sd which will move the whole stuff into external memory. I've never used it and never thought of using it. If you want to store the apps on your memory card, you can move all of them if you use a Cyanogenmod 7 based ROM. And regarding your stored data, I've no idea as I never had to buy another card from the one I got with the phone. Again, please search the forums.
ok thank you I rooted my lg optimus one using gingerbreak.apk
but there is a problem when I install busybox installer and when I click on install
they said sd card is not plugged in?install failed
also rom manager tells

don't do it again and again, that might cause a permanent brick. Try this
Switch off your phone and try to enter recovery via 3 button combo i.e home+vol. Down+ power button.
If it boots into recovery, its good then

ROM manager is useful only when you need to flash a recovery. Once you're done with flashing ClockworkMod recovery, just kick the hell out of ROM manager and never use it again. It is one of the ****tiest app around. After the recovery is installed, you can use it always. It will be easier than messing around with ROM manager. Good luck!

Generally when we fix the fastboot semibrick, we actually flash the recovery img of amonra. If someone wants CWM after fastboot fix, replace the amonra recovery image file with CWM's img file

SFM 3.0 and Root access

I installed SFM 3.0 [as per instructions] and have not been able to get root access for Titanium back-up, which means I lost root access.
How do I re-gain it without going into recovery, wiping, and installing another rom?
Thanks.
this also happened to me, its a common problem with this rom.
go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317368
scroll down to where it says superuser installation and click on the link and download the file.
then obviously place file on sd card and boot into recovery and install it (i dont think you need to do a factory reset or wipe cache or anything like that)
then just make sure you have the latest superuser from the market and then everything should be fine

Rooted but not able to gain root rights

I rooted my phone months ago but suddenly today I noticed when trying to make a backup with Titanium backup, a few weeks after my most recent backup, that the app lost it's root rights. Normally this wouldn't be a problem because when an app needs root access a pop-up display asks you if you want to grant or deny access. But since the pop-up wasn't showing up either I started searching on my phone for the superuser app. All settings seemd correct, also the premission manager which comes default with MIUI rom looked ok.
To keep the story short, I eventually found out that my phone lost it's root rights. Don't know why... perhaps a new kernel I tried the other day but even then it would be weird that my phone has suddenly unrooted.
So I tried rooting my phone again using Odin. I got all the confirmation messages I used to get after the rooting proces has completed so I re-ran Titanium backup. But this time after a few seconds I got a message onscreen that the root rights had been denied! I checked Superuser app and the log area showed me the same but I can't seem to find out why I keep getting this message instead of the regular Grant/Deny root access pop-up box.
I eventually even tried unrooting my phone. Then re-root using Odin including flashing of CWM touch and Superuser app. Still the same problem: every root based app I try (even typing "su" in the terminal) gets a toaster saying root access denied without even an option to grant or deny root access to this app.
What is happing with my SGS3 and how can I get my root access back to working state?

Some Basic Q/A related to rooting

Hi!
I've been wanting to root my Canvas HD for the past month but did get success with sp tool..So I'm gonna try the Motochopper method which has reportedly high success rate... but because that tut was not very detailed, I have some doubts.
•I wanna know if I follow this method will I lose any data, app data, game progress, contacts etc etc.? And if there is a chance of that is there a way to backup these things? Apps like titanium and nandroid require root access which I don't have.
• When trying out the sp tool method some people reported that they lost their IMEI no. after rooting which is clearly a very serious issue and I don't wanna end up like that so does this method poses the same threat? if it does, is there a way so that I can take a backup of my IMEI no.??
•Do I need to take out my memory card/ battery?
Note: I am a noob in android rooting and stuff so please don't be harsh. I am currently in middle of the process
Thank you any help is much appreciated :fingers-crossed:

You won't lose any data or IMEI and there is no need to take the battery out. it's not like flashing an entirely new firmware. i assure you it's very very safe.

Hi Vemajai,
Removing Boaltware is a kind of hit and miss.
The way i do is
1) Open ES file explorer
2) Click on Root Explorer
3) Mount Write Permissions
4) go to /system/app
5) Cut the Apps that I dont need and paste them into any folder on external card.
6) Go to CWM recovery, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and fix permissions.
Choosing the apps to remove/delete is important, you can search internet to which apps are safe to remove, but it will be device specific.
There are few scripts available on the xda that do this job automatically, but we dont have one for our A116 (correct me if i am wrong).
If you remove a wrong apk accidentally, you can end up with FC's(Force Closes) and few functions or apps may not work.
So its better to have a Nandriod Backup (can be taken using Recovery like CWM or TWRP) so that if some thing goes wrong we can go back to working state.

Firstly we need twrp, go and get it from
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767135545
Simply flash it via odin.
Then root it by flash latest magisk from
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
After that you will see that twrp cant mount data. You have to format data (go to wipe - format data - type yes)(It will erase all your data SO BACK-UP) and flash the boot image patcher to prevent device from re-encrypt every boot
This is the working boot image patcher by zackptg5.
Download DM-VERITY AND FORCE ENCRYPTION DISABLER
And you will get file name
Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_09.02.2018.zip
Download link below.
http://zackptg5.com/android.php#disverfe
And now simply reboot and enjoy
IF IT HELP YOU GUYS , PLEASE HIT THANKS BUTTON , THIS IS MY FIRST THREAD AND THANKS WILL BE ENCOURAGING TO ME.
Thanks to @ashyx for twrp , @Zackptg5 for Universal DM-Verity, ForceEncrypt, Disk Quota Disablers and @topjohnwu for magisk.

Still confuse on this, which file to download and flash?
Disable_Dm-Verity-09.02.2018.zip or Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_09.02.2018.zip
Firstly, I couldn't understand that...
"Simply flash it via odin.
*But no verity no encrypt _ashyx is not working anymore. So dont flash it.*"
Testing and everything works fine but problem with titanium backup. TB read my phone not rooted.

I think you choose completly uninstall magisk through an app and install the latest magisk beta v17.3 step by step in the guide. The ploblem should solved I guess it was a ploblem while you install magisk.
Why it's not like olds? Using one click root or just with TWRP? Maybe we should wait a little bit more. Cause it seems risky to me. Also, need to erase all datas etc.

Fresh install apps, CRIA (same),odin 3.13.1, magisk 17.3 [It is not about odin if you pass flash time and never cause from data app] Or you can try re-flash firmware wipe data and root.

This what i did:
> BACKUP PHONE DATA (INTERNAL STORAGE)
> PLACE ALL NECESSARY ROOT FILE ON SDCARD
> FLASH TWRP twrp_3.0.2-1_sm-a910_a9100_7217.tar WITH ODIN (DISABLE AUTO REBOOT)
> ENTER TWRP
> FORMAT DATA (After TWRP 1st boot, internal storage need to format)
> REBOOT TWRP
- INSTALL Magisk-v17.3.zip
- INSTALL Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_09.02.2018.zip
> REBOOT SYSTEM
> ONCE BOOT, GRANT PERMISSION TO ANY APPLICATION THAT REQUIRED ROOT ACCESS (PREFER TO TEST WITH T.B FIRST)
> IF YOU HAVING NOTIFICATION FROM SECURITY LOG AGENT - DISABLE IT
Everything works fine now
TQ
