Mines is all loose and my charger keeps falling out its a hassle charging and texting, on CDs, our just using the phone period while its on the charger. Do I have to dish out $100 to get it fixed with TEP?

Lol it was a little incident my phone was on the table at work charging close to the edge on vibrate my theory due from vibration the phone moved closer to the edge and fell to the floor barely any cosmetic damage besides the charger port bottom metal looks slightly bent

Last year the happened with my EVO 4G and I think is HTC bad build in usb port cause I never the problem with the nexus s , iphones and mine is feeling loose I hate ir cause ain't fair to pay 100$ for a stupid mistakes that they should handle, I heard some people getting some free replacements but you should check it out, maybe you could get one

I got a replacement they hit me with the $100 hardware damage I had a walk around started flashing a Tom popped the battery out and the turned s-on went to another store told them phone wont boot after update made me leave it for about 4 hours came back he swapped it for a used 3d with someone Google account logged in, Facebook, contacts still there, scratched up phone, and already had apps I called retention and told them what happened they said that's unacceptable and set up an appointment to get a new phone today now I feel like I pay TEP for a good cause lol

Hi all.. this morning I noticed a tiny or rather really small lump on the Battery cover of my phone.. I can feel it when I run my fingers over the phone where the phone details are printed on the Kevlar skin..
Is it normal or is there something wrong with my phone(battery maybe)? Please help..

Has the phone been over heated ? Do you have a warranty? If so call and get it replaced.
It gets heated (42-47 degree) after10-15 minutes of 3G browsing. .
The phone its under warranty and what should I tell the Motorola people to get the phone exchanged under warranty?

Took the phone to the service center.. They saw the phone and said its heating up badly.. They took the phone and said that they will have it under observation for two days. So will update you guys once it comes back.
And BTW they said that all RAZRs will have a tiny bump on the backside, they said that its the battery connectors and it will be there. Not sure if we was saying the truth or not!!:-(
Hia guys, something strange happened to me the other day..
I had some change of money in my pocket and when i i put my phone in the same pocket i
and i pulled it out some time later, my change was magically stuck to the back of my phone..
So i tried that again, and it seems that my loudspeaker of the phone is still magneticaly charged. I tried this with some other phones, including the iphone but no phone did the same..
This is kinda odd because as far i know phones arent allowd to do this.. what if i slide it on accident my pin or credit card allong its back.

the magnet on the speaker of the xperia s/p/u/sole/go is not covered, with materials that have magnetic permeability properties, and absorb magnetic field! becose they fownd a way to make it not interfere with the compass and other stuff and to make stronger the magnetic field detection!
so i think is not a problem since is not powerful enough to damage stuff like credit cards!

Hey.. i have the sony xperia s now for a few weeks. And i have to say, it has broken 2 of my credit cards!! Now i am searching for a new backcover to protect my cards from the phone -.-
I was amused when I pulled my XPS out of my pocket and had a bunch of coins stuck to the back of it
I'll make sure I don't keep it next to my cards from now on though!
If the Xperia S magnetic speaker can demagnetize and damage credit card, then it is really having strong magnet...
And the only advantage of having a mobile phone demagnetizer is when you are in date and don't want to pay the bills...

Hey guys,
Terrible tragedy here, had this phone for just a couple months and the audio jack started going wonky. Audio would cut out of one channel unless I spun the wire exactly the right way. Got tired of this, so I ordered a new jack for a few bucks and waited for it to come from China. When it finally did, I pulled my phone apart carefully following this guide:

Not my first rodeo here, so it was pretty simple to take to apart, snap in the new jack, and put it all back together. Turned it on, and sound works, volume rocker, haptic buttons light up, vibrates, indicator light, all that good stuff. But the screen won't come on! Step 3 of that guide (the image is a little hard to see) has a black outline around the screen flex cable. Reseated that thing some 50 times already crossing fingers and praying to gods I don't believe in. Still nothing. I swear I was more careful with this repair than I've ever been with anything in the past, didn't crack anything, twist, bend, break anything, didn't go crossing wires or doing it while the phone was on. I can't see any reason why the screen won't turn on :crying: And the pricetag on a new screen is just about what the phone is! That, and of course there's no guarantee that a new screen would solve the problem if the issue happened to be on the board side of the connector.
Any advice? I'm grabbing at straws here and really don't want to have to drop money on another one just a few months after I bought it. Help greatly appreciated!
I am not sure what you can do, but since you had a legit issue with the phone that you didn't cause by doing something you shouldn't have, why didn't you get it exchanged under warranty?

Interesting... that thought never even crossed my mind. I guess my presumption was that a problem like that could be deemed damage to the phone if they insisted I had a wire plugged in and bent it or something to that effect. I guess I'm just so used to warranties not ever fixing anything that I forgot they existed. My natural reaction has become: something's broken? I'll have to fix it.
Though, I guess I could put it back together and bring it to a Verizon store and say the screen turned off and won't turn back on. Playing dumb may be a viable option.

Now that is fraud and I don't condone that. One thing to have a legit issue and they would have sent you a refurb with no issues.
Now that you have damaged your phone you should pony up and pay to get it fixed.

My mistake, I didn't mean to cite fraud on this board. I'm simply frustrated with something that doesn't make sense to me and looking for a viable option that doesn't involve a $700 price tag. If I dropped it or got it wet I'd pay the bill, no problem. That I can clearly say is my fault and I messed up. I'm just astounded as someone who builds and repairs laptops, has fixed countless cell phones, ipods, etc. that simply unplugging a wire and plugging it back in would make the screen completely stop working with no signs of life. I just can't make sense of WHY it happened. If I could, I could blame myself and accept the bill for it and call it a lesson learned. But I haven't learned anything, other than that 99% of the time when I carefully replace parts everything will work fine, and 1% of the time - the time when the replacement bill is over 200% the original bill - something will strangely go wrong without any reasonable explanation.

Samsung doesn't charge an insane amount to fix the screen. Not anywhere close to 700.
The end of the day, the screen worked fine, you took the phone apart, screen now doesn't work, your fault. You did something. Everyone makes mistakes. You have a lesson to learn here, you just don't like it. Your lesson should be to have it replaced with a refurbed unit through Verizon not fix it yourself while under warranty unless they deem your issue not covered by warranty.
Warranties are interesting things. They sometimes cover things they shouldn't and don't cover things they should. Laptop warranties cover the AC port. I've sent laptops off for customers in the past where they obviously broke the AC port by putting extreme force against the AC cord. MFG still covered it. Not every company is out to get you.
I've only had to do it once with my Rezound. Got the refurb in a few days and sent my original one back. Was simple. I also didn't pay a dime.

You're 100% right, I hadn't yet gotten out of the denial stage of grief. Funny enough, I used to work at a Staples EasyTech and would work on and send out customer's computers and see the same sorts of things.

After the note we're really getting into tablet territory with our next phones. Maybe Ill start a clothing company and just make giant pockets in everything. I foresee a market in previous note owners in 2 years.

I know how you must feel. It really does suck. Just trying to help make this a learning experience for you and others who read it.
But seriously Samsung doesn't charge a huge amount to replace the screen. Give them a call and check. They may not even have to do that much. Who knows until they look.

Hi guys,
Does anyone know where the water sensors (white round strips) are on HTC One? I accidentally dropped my HTC One in water. It started vibrating and I could not turn it off. It turned off once the battery got drained. I am not sure if I should try to plug it in. Its just over a month that I bought it..but I dont have the accidental insurance...I wonder how HTC knows if the cellphone (in particular HTC One as it is pain in the ass to open according to ifixit) has water damage or not.
Thoughts??

just call att and tell them then you want the insurance added. tell them you didn't realize it was just over a month. they always honor it. then next day do a claim.

I am not sure if you should try turning it on either. Not do I know about how htc detects water damage.
My sister-in-law spilled some soda on her phone and put it in a jar of dry rice (surrounding the phone with rice entirely) to dry it out. It worked well for her, but I don't know how effective it is in general. Nevertheless, it might be worth a shot.
When I took my phone in for a replacement they checked what color it was under the glass for the flash. Maybe that could be it somehow?
Pull out the SIM card slot. Put it a container filled with uncooked rice and seal it up. Make sure you bury the phone into the rice so it sucks out the moisture from the phone. Leave it there for about 3-4 days. Take it out, place SIM card back in, plug in charger and see if the red notification light turns on. If it does, it means its charging and let it charge for about 30 minutes before powering it on.

I did the rice thing already for 2 days. Plugged in this morning. The red charging light starts flickering and then has been blinking ever since. Not a solid red light like its supposed to be during charging. Phone doesnt get charged. Tried holding power button for 10-15 sec with no luck.
I am assuming if I call HTC, they wont honor the warranty no more...Am I correct?

I would try AT&T they may swap it out without checking. HTC probably will check.

When I called for service they mentioned the same thing. They asked if the yellow around the flash was red at all.

The same is happening to my phone right now after i kept it in rice for 3 days. What happened to ur phone then?
The flash is the water sensor, as others have mentioned or guessed. I was at the AT&T store for a sim card swap and casually asked. I know the tech well and he told me where it was himself. Also, the dry ice trick is more reliable in my experience.
You can use silica desiccant in a bag for much much better results than rice. You typically find small packets in shoeboxes, etc. (No, I am not encouraging you to take the packets out of all the shoeboxes at wal-mart. But if you did, you'd confuse the hell out of the security personnel if they watched you on camera =P) You can refresh the desiccant pebbles by heating your oven to about 300 and then turning it off & leaving the packets on a cookie sheet inside. This will purge the moisture from them and re-activate them.

I dropped my HTC One in the toilet, and it's not working at all. Can anyone help?
It was in the toilet for a second or two. I then took it out immediately and turned it off, wiped off any excess water, and left it in a bowl of rice, rotating it every few hours, for 48 hours. I have tried to turn it on this morning, but have had no luck. The screen is just blank, and the phone does not react when I put the charger in. The led green light doesn't come on to say it's charging, and neither a laptop of computer are recognising it when I plug it in. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong with it, or is it just completely dead? It's a new phone on contract, and I really can't afford to get a new phone. Or does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to repair it?
Any advice or tips would be really appreciated!

I have been working for a sub that repairs phones for AT&T for several years. Water damaged phones do not get repaired as there is no way to get all the water and the contaminates that it migrates to the PCB out from under all the parts and connectors. If the Rice or other suggestions did not work then the phone is history and must be replaced at your cost if you don't have insurance. If you have insurance just be honest pay the deductible and get the refurb the will give you.
Thats your only options.
The ones water Indicator is actually inside the flash lens. Look next to the camera lens and see if that's a pinkish color or a off white- yellowish. Pink is water. There's also a small one inside the Sim slot that you can't really access or see. Good luck
