Yes it works on 2.3.5 IT sounds like you need to install drivers for your device first and you need to enable USB debugging first. For help installing drivers you may try Snap Pea, it helps install generic drivers that may work for you.

You still need drivers, that did not work. The error device not found is because the PC cant see the phone as connected.

i tried to root manually using adb but now the problem which occured is it shows permission denied and other one is read-only system
what do do in this matter please help

Way to Root Zen Ultrafone101(Sad for posting so late)!
Before the process:
First, Rooting voids warranty, I will not be responsible for any loss caused while following this tutorial.
Second, your phone needs to have battery above 80% before starting the process.
Third, this tutorial requires a PC (I used a Windows PC )
I rooted my ultrafone 101 two years ago following this method:
First off, you need to download drivers for your device. For that, download ADB Driver installer for PC. Then run it while you have connected your phone wIth a usb cable and also usb debugging mode is enabled in your phone. It will take some time to finish.
Next step is to download an PC software Mobogenie. Opening it will start the connecting process, in which it automatically installs its Android Mobogenie app in your phone, and you are connected.
Then go to 'Tool kit' from menu in the left column.
Click on One Click Root icon. Wait sometimes until it is downloaded. Progress of download will be shown under the icon and when finished it will pop up automatically.
Then just click on root now, if everything is fine, you will get root access within three minutes. After this, disconnect the phone and take a reboot.

1: get SuperOneClick from its original thread if you don't already have it. Latest version is 1.5.5, but most versions seem to work fine.
2: Delete the "rageagainstthecage" file (no filename extension).
3: get psneuter.zip from the Xperia X8 Android Development forum thread.
4: Unzip it. Rename "psneuter" to "rageagainstthecage" (no filename extension), and move it to your SuperOneClick folder, to replace the rageagainstthecage file you deleted in step 2.
5: run SuperOneClick. Mine rooted without looping.
6: reboot your phone. Test your shiny new root!
Remember to put your phone in debugging mode, etc. Someone in the X8 thread claims that X10 Mini can be rooted via this method; I don't have a Mini so I don't know for sure. But I've got a Mini Pro and it just worked.
Update:
The file you need in Step 3 is "psneuter", not "psneuter.c". psneuter.c is the source file for psneuter. You can ignore it.
donetus says that if you have problems with Titanium Backup (even after step 6!), uninstall it, reboot, and reinstall Titanium. This appears to have worked for several users.
Amey006 says that s/he had to install drivers from the Sony Ericsson PC Companion for SuperOneClick to move past "waiting for device". I had PC Companion already installed when I did mine, so I don't know whether the process works without PC Companion... if you don't have PC Companion, you can get it here.
Update 03-2011:
The latest version of SuperOneClick now includes psneuter; you no longer need to follow the steps above. Just use SuperOneClick!

Does your phone say that it is connected? Try another USB port?
ADB will say "waiting for device" because SuperOneClick tells it to wait until a device is connected; if it says "waiting for device", ADB isn't seeing your phone at all.

Yes my phone says it is connected.
The usb debugging and usb flash symbol come up on my status bar.
After the message waiting for device the applicaton (SOC) stops responding.
I changed my usb port too.

Follow the instructions here, namely this bit:
Turn USB Debugging OFF
Click Root
When it says: Waiting for Device, Turn USB Debugging ON
It'll now run RATC
When it says: Starting ADB Server...
Turn USB Debugging OFF
Turn USB Debugging ON
Turn USB Debugging OFF
All BEFORE it says "Waiting for device..." again

The z4 root tool doesn't work no more.. it stays on the 'busy rooting' notice forever.
Then I tried the here mentioned method with SuperOneClick with with replaced pseudo file etc..
The program say it has rooted and the superuser app appears in the drawer. However Titanium and Root explorer apps do not have SU accress..
What can I try? I used superoneclick v. 1.5

I use WIn7 32bits or WinXP 32bits. I probe in 3 pcs

I had the same problem.....
What i did is:
I removed the cable
Booted into bootloader
went to fastboot
and connected the usb
After that, my pc detected some device...not the the mom card or phone...
Again after that, i booted into bootloader, connected the usb, and went to recovery...it went to the screen with the phone and the exclamation, and the pc made 4 or 5 connected and disconnected sounds...
I then powered the device on, and lo and behold! It recognized my phone and everything was back to normal...
This is just something that worked for me, as i was in a USB brick...prior to this, i was not able to connect to the pc, and the charger was not fluently or continuously charging the phone.
Hope this helps someone....

Hello immortal_yash, i'm also a noob. it's the first tiime i will be having an android phone and thus rooting it.
Using the root tutorial on your signature and then installing the jaggy rom is the best way to go as a noob?
Will the cpu be oc with this rom? and the phone unlocked so i can use different sim cards?

What is your problem?

Did you turn off the phone, remove the battery and replace it, then turn the phone on while holding volume up button, then select "FASTBOOT" from the menu that appeared by using the power button to select? If you have done all of these things, then fastboot should recognize the phone. Otherwise, there is no way it will work.
Did you try superoneclickroot? That's the best one to root. You should find a video in YouTube really !

yes i tried the step but my pc was unable to find driver for android 1.0 then i googled it installed the driver than went to other stepp but i think i am facin prob in sdk software i dont knoe which 3 files r for htcexplorer

You need to install the HTC drivers. The easiest way is to first off uninstall whatever you installed already. Then install HTC Sync. Are you following JaggyJag's root tutorial, from the link in immortal_yash's signature?

well i just bought this bootlegged android phone and its amazing. but the only thing thats holding me back is the 4.0.9 and the fact that it lags on big games. so i was wondering if there is a root for the N9977 phone, i've searched multiple webs and did not find so if you can please tell me where is is.

I have the same phone but mine is running android 4.0.4 can I ask you if your magnetic sensor is working? I mine is a yamaha530 but it doesn't give out data...
And please let me know if you find something, i've been searching high and low... I've even offered fastcardtech a free ftp server for all their Roms on talkingmobi.com if they can help us... Same as you I want to find out if we can use the "root many mtk65xx" here on Xda.. But I'm not really up to just testing and bricking it..
I received a reply from the phone supplier with a way to root th phone, I'll test it ASAP and post the results

So i managed to root my N9977 this is how:
Download this rar first: www.anniblue.com/xda/rootingn9977.rar
1. Enable usb debugging and connect the phone to your pc.(win xp/ wista/ 7/ 8)
2. Install Snappea and download the usb driver within Snappea, when the phone is recognized, pls turn Snapped off and click do not remember it
3. Go to pc task manager- process- kill wandoujia helper.
4. Extract MTK6577 One Key Root to your pc, and click one key root.bat, then press enter on your keyboard then on your phone there should pop up a restore screen choose restore My Data (No need to type the password). Then the phone will auto reboot twice.
Meanwhile do not touch anything on your phone or pc, or the phone will get bricked.
5. Check menu- if there is an “#” icon, if yes, it’s rooted, or do it again.
The one key root.bat is all in Chinese or some strange language but no need to do anything but click enter after you open it. Then after its installed you will get a Chinese superuser apk but just download superuser from play store and run a binary update in the new one and you'll be fine

Sorry I don't have that phone anymore but I made a thread with a link to a ton of roms for that phone, I belive there was a stock version there. Sadly the page is in Chinese but just use Chrome and you'll be OK...

i connected my lenovo to my computer then suddenly it got power off
then i got a message like encryption unsuccessful and then i hard restet my mobile
then it was just showing start up lenovo
i gave it to the service center now its not even starting
service center guy said that you need to buy a motherboard because ROM is finished
so can you guy help me out that changing motherboard is only option or isa there any other way to get my lenovo p780 alive
please help me ASAP

When you plug in to the computer the red light still appear? It is still charging?
What rom did you have 4 or 8 Gb?
What writes on your phone box, it is made before or after 03.2014?

Did you tried to reflash home another ROM ? Your computer recognize your phone when you plug him to usb cable ? I still try to understand what happent to your phone! if your computer still recognize your phone there is a chance!
You must keep your device manager window open and plug your phone to PC. In the device manager window will appear your preloader for 1 or 2 secconds! That is good. If not is bad!
Do this and tell me what happent!

Tutorial is still there. Unistall your installed drivers and install what i send you there.
Then try again to flash your ROM.

but that lenovousbdriver one is not working in won 8.1
when i was flashing i was getting an error BROM ERROR : S_DL_PMT_ERR_NO_SPACE (5069)
i dont know what is this
do i need to make a partition of my sd card ?
for internal memory
or something like that please

i am trying with SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1304.0.119_lenovo-forums.ru
yea i have a win 7 pc shoul i try with that ?

Tutorial is still there. Unistall your installed drivers and install what i send you there.
Then try again to flash your ROM.

still getting same error
and that lenovo usb driver is also not working it is installed in computer but i cant find any shortcut or app

Did you tried to reflash home another ROM ? Your computer recognize your phone when you plug him to usb cable ? I still try to understand what happent to your phone! if your computer still recognize your phone there is a chance!
You must keep your device manager window open and plug your phone to PC. In the device manager window will appear your preloader for 1 or 2 secconds! That is good. If not is bad!
Do this and tell me what happent!

Hi. Did you tried SP Flash Tool v5 ? Try with this one and tell me what is going on.
