Thank you Korado for answer.
Yes ,I know after the latest update this method is doesnt work,but we have one solution.
If you are still using Official JB 4.2.2 XXUAMFB Firmware first download from PlayStore Voodoo OTA rootkeeper.
Link:https://play.google.com/store/search?q=voodoo%20ota%20rootkeeper&hl=tr
After installing Voodoo apk open it and press PROTECT ROOT buton.Now you can update your device via OTA.
After update your device open Voodoo root keeper app. and press RESTORE ROOT buton.You will see the root is come back.
But If these procedures before you update,my advice is flash Official JB 4.2.2 XXUAMFB Firmware via odin and do the above procedures from the beginning.
NOTE:I dont try update via KİES .

This didn't work for my LTE model. Instead I downloaded the program which rooted in one click. It won't let me post a link as I'm new but head to mgyun dot com slash vroot
It's in Chinese which I don't understand but I plugged in the phone, clicked the green button and it rooted it, then I just installed Super SU from Play Store and all is good

As your screen shot says, use Kies!
Yes I know that . But why will it not work ota . Is it because I'm rooted

So the same thing just happened to me. How did you end up updating? With kies?
Anyone have any idea why it would fail ota? Mine is also rooted.
Have the same problem with the OTA, Spain, unbranded. I can't even flash it through CF-CWM.
Will have to wait until my wife comes with her computer, mine can't run Kies.
I just updated mine via Kies. It was rooted (stock rom)
Now its not rooted anymore, so i have to root it again.
/Pete
Yea I just updated via Kies as well, worked fine, except it failed downloading the update a few times, so i tried on a different laptop, and it was all good.
What version was the 3 UK update?

Could the problem be that I integrated system app updates in the /system? Or it's just that it's rooted?
me too. i'm getting failed OTA updates. the OTA update should be working will with chainfire 6.3 right? any help guys?
Had the same. Updated through Kies but lost root. Think it knows the system is modified so won't work ota.
To all with problems: OTA won't work with rooted devices!! Use Kies. And yes, you will lose root, but thanks to Chainfire that's very easy to restore...
My guess is that the failed OTAs have got to do with the custom recovery, that's why Kies works.
OTA does not work with custom recoveries like cwm.
What you need to do is let it download, move it out of /cache/fota/ to your sdcard, then update via cwm as you would with a custom rom. You will then need to reroot your device.

SGS3(rooted) can't update firmware via OTA(even Kies )it will stop on CWM
This what I did successfully
1.up firmware(use Odin) to CF-Root v6.3(that will have CWM 5.5 ver. 1.5)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238
2.Then update firmware via OTA (settings>About device>Software update)check your firmware version in About device it should be new samsung firmware and that you will unroot you phone too
3.Re-root step 1 again if you want to root
Finally, I have successfully updated my stock rooted SGS3. Here's what I've done (upon my discovery)
1. For all the changes you've made on the root folder (/ or /system), make sure to put everything back to its normal state as the OTA looks up for signed apps/modified apps on those folders before updating. In my case, I had to remove the hyperx camera mod and make it to stock again as well as deleting unnecessary files like build.prop.bak that I've made. Just make everything SAME as the stock and everything will work as normal.
2. Make sure you're using CFRoot 6.3
3. After OTA update, you will surely lose your root. Just flash CFroot once again.
I have done all u say, but it will not let me update, keeps saying use kies but kies dont work for me keeps hanging after it says update firmware.

I'm sure you know this, but thats what you get for using random programs and not backing up!
Just flash the stock from (just use search)

Description: This is a simple guide that will allow you to easily root your Verizon Galaxy S4 device without having to wipe your device or flash a full prerooted factory image. This method works using a leaked prerelease kernel (provided by user sextape) and root method (provided by user djrbliss). Only change is I have modified the Motochopper root method to use the latest SuperSU instead.

The motochopper link triggered mine. Followed the instructions and I had to run the motochopper run.bat twice, first time it installed Superuser.apk but it wasn't rooted. Second time everything worked perfectly, I am now rooted. Thanks!

This worked for me this afternoon. As I mentioned in other threads if you're getting stuck at boot.img in Odin try using a USB port on the back of your PC. That was what did it for me (to get the kernel installed.) I did everything else from the back USB port as well and it went great.

I know I have read somewhere about the "Boot unlock- Custom" message that appears when you boot the phone, could somebody point me in the right direction on how to fix this please? (Running stock softwear, no ROM yet)
Also, how would I go about switching the Superuser app to SuperSU? (I have the paid SuperSU I use from my tablet and want to use it with my new S4)- NVM- Chainfire made it all to easy for beginners like myself. SuperSU will overwrite and remove superuser automaticly for anybody else with this!

I can confirm that freezing SEAndroid 1.0 removes the warning instantly
Install SuperSU and update the binaries. Then uninstall superuser and reboot the phone 2 times and the unlock icon will be gone. Good luck.

For now it's not required, I'm going to do a lot of testing tonight and if restoring the VRUAMDK kernel still works with latest SuperSU I may just update both at once.
It worked for me. This was posted somewhere in the AT&T S4 section.
Thanks I'll be trying this as soon as I get my hands on a S4 (soon).

We need an unlocked bootloader to get a working recovery right? Would it be semi safe to assume we can follow some of the other models (i9505, AT&T etc..,) "de-bloat" threads to de-bloat ours?
are there any risks with this method, i.e., not being able to receive OTA? can we easily de-root and restore root?

Do we have a list of what's safe to remove yet (before we get custom Roms) ?

Yes, it can. For testing sake using Kingo Root I have first Unrooted my I9205 and then re-Rooted it without any problems.
Unrooting takes about 5 minuts, rooting was very fast. Root Checker says, so device is rooted, although I can not find SuperSU which was previously installed.
Custom Recovery (TWRP) stays and two red lines during booting to recovery stays also. I do not know how it will be when one root fresh Mega using Kingo Root. Some say there is not any red lines then.
Root SGH-1527M
Tried the Klingo Root program. Root failed. Reinstalled and tried again. Root failed. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated
I was wondering when these questions were going to be ask...Ok here we go...If you did the OTA update...It installed Knox for starters..Ok root with Kingo..It will reboot...When you look for Super User you're correct it won't be there..Why you ask?Because with the OTA the binary is totally different..But it's a simple fix...Once you root with Kingo reboot and go in to the play store....Type in SU in the search..You will see it pop up with the blue Android icon...Download it..and let it install..It will then ask if you want to update the binary..Choose yes..exit out...Reboot once more...Now you will see the SU icon...Now click on it...and it will ask if you want to disable Knox..Choose yes...Exit you're done..Enjoy...

It's Work my E5333 rooted.
I was able to root my E5506 (Wind Mobile) with or without USB debugging on. I tried both ways and it works using the latest Kingroot 4.8 app. It might reboot in the middle of rooting but just continue after the phone reboots. if it fails just try to root it again and it should work after a few tries.
I managed to install Titanium Backup Pro, Busy Box without any issues.
Note: If your Titanium Backup won't allow you to backup in your sd card, just download the app in the play store called SDfix. This app should fix your sd issues in TB. [emoji4]
If you flash a firmware using flashtool you will lose root so you'll have to re-root.
Nice, I'll try to change the root manager to SuperSU. Thanks for the info!
let me know if you manage to make it work. I tried to switch to super su but I keep getting error on su binary when it tries to update
OK Root C4
In my C4 I run until the fifth attempt. Xperia c4 5306
Fine...
After rooting can i use flashify to flash custon recovery? There's a custom recovery for C5 ultra by Bigrammy.
if your bootloader is unlocked you probably can install a custom recovery. my phone's bootloader is still locked just was able to get root access.

Doesn't biggrammy's custom recovery method address' this fact? It may show as "secure = yes" but recovery can still be flashed.
Quote:
following info from Sony my phone stated “NO” and as you can see the bootloader info said secure = yes but been a I went ahead anyway and here is the weird and lucky for us thing.
After I unlocked it I got (bootloader) secure = NO from fastboot but the System software still reported Bootloader unlock allowed = No
Nothing tripped no warranty warnings nothing it’s like the system never even knew sweet.

Success changing KingRoot to SuperSU!
Just follow the rules precisely as are mentioned in the following post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/replace-kingroot-superuser-guide-t3251013
Oh yeah! Confirmed Kingroot to SuperSU is a success here too! Thank you pablo_xperia for sharing that link [emoji4]
I don't know why it didn't work for me the first time I rooted my phone but this time definitely worked like a charm.

Yes I understand that bigrammy did mention in his thread that some may show "secure=yes" but recovery can still be flashed. I am just worried about mine being a carrier bought phone not being able to flash the fotakernel. I don't want to screw up my phone just yet. Right now i'm fine with being rooted and have superSU installed.

You have to install supersu and terminal. Put wrm dir into phone storage
Follow the commands,
Su
/Sdcard/wrm/root.sh
When it completes, go launch supersu and update binary.
Then reboot

[Tutorial] Make any Gear S rootable

Hello everyone. This is my first tutorial with Gear S so I hope it will help someone.
First of all
I am not responsible for any damage done to you deviceI saw in this Tutorial thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s/development/definitive-guide-to-rooting-gear-s-t2973455, that some people have unsupported firmware versions and they can't root they'r device. It is not true. You can root your device, if you will follow this simple guide.
What do you need:
1) Gear S
2) Charging cradle with USB cable
3) PC running Windows (because windows is only OS I know XD)
4) Odin 3.09: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4xXHWEm81OleU0wckt0S2pjSU0
5) supported firmware downloaded from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-R750/ (it is just on you which one do you pick, but it must be supported in the root thread)
6) Drivers: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4xXHWEm81OlT1ZBeXdHYXZqQTA
If you have everything downloaded you can proceed to the tutorial it selfStep by step firmware changing guide:
1) Unzip downloaded software and install drivers
- you should end with one .MD5 file and one .dll file (I am not sure, if the .dll is needed)
2) Open Odin 3.09
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- Here you have to Tick AP, click on AP and select your .MD5 file
-you should start to see something like this (wait until it says leave CS..)
- you can continue if you see this
3)Untick Auto reboot
4) Enable USB-Debugging on Gear S
- Settings -> Gear Info -> USB Debugging
5) Put your gear S into download mode
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=qwcf79m9ycw
- credits go to cipherswitch
6) Connect your gear S to PC
- you should see this
7) Click start and wait till it is done
- when it is done you will see this
8)Wait till Gear S reboot
- Now just look at the firmware page and there should be new software version
If you have an error
-repeat everything but with different firmware version
P.S.: Sorry if you can't see pictures, so if you have problem just look into attachment they are listed here

I downloaded the exact same one from sammobile then I flashed the AOA7 root file from the root thread and it works fine. The software version will still be AOA7 but I think the baseband will be APC1 but mine is working flawlessly. Also you could still flash stock AOA7 first then root but theres no need as I've tested it.

Sorry, sounds right...can't remember the steps off hand.
Inside the .tar is an image file, might need to be unpacked, sorry just don't remember the steps.
Just follow the guide and use this file.
Best of luck.

If you were to load android os well then su will probably be available.
I'll look back through my files, looking for any guides when i get a chance.
