Why so many 4.2.1 builds for xu when 4.2.2 is well-adopted - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Sorry about such a long title. The question is mainly aimed at developers. At the moment (correct me if I am wrong) 4.2.2 by team Canjica is the latest working cyanogen-based rom for xu. It has not been updated in a while and there are no major working builds out by other devs with 4.2.2, although 4.1s are quite a few and are updated fairly regularly. What is the catch and will this situation likely change? Why do people not fork from Canjica's progress? All but front cam is functional.

Probably because 4.1 are based on Sony stock rom, while 4.2.2 is based on CM and build from source and require a lot more work.

Is front cam working in cm 10.1

May be because FXP is more famous than TeamCanjica, although TeamCanjica has done a great job.

4.2.2 daily use here - seems ok save for front cam and can't account for bluetooth as I'm not using it. It is just as I understand development - it is building on the best towards even better and right now we do have a fairly solid 4.2.2 with sources, meanwhile people keep using earlier stuff for their roms also cyano-based. I'm only hoping everyone is waiting for a 4.4 to go hot.

Xperia S AOKP ROM or ROMControl

Hi there,
I wonder does the Xperia S got an AOKP ROM? I am using the latest CM9 ROM and really hope It could have features like AOKP. ie. thoes quick buttons in the notification panel.
I have searched that was an AOKP Rom development but it has been halted at the alpha0 version, which I cannt flash it at all.
Or is there any ways that I can customrize my SystemUI.apk like the one in AOKP?
Thanks in advance.
For know we don't have aokp roms, but K900( dev) is working on it and he is waiting for fxp team to release sources.

I'm waiting for CM10 to become stable. Once most of the things are working, team FXP will release the source and I'll have AOKP in no time.

[DEV][MaclawStudio] CyanogenMod for Galaxy S3 Mini

Hello guys!
I'm Macław. Maybe some of you knows me as developer of Ace and Gio ROMs.
I was a first guy, who run fully working ICS (AOSP and CM9) and JB on Ace/Gio.
Now, when I received my S3 Mini, I want to start developing here.
<LINKS Removed> Thread Closed - No placeholders as per XDA rules and members should not be directed to another site.
My plan:
Run CM10 (based on 4.1) on it from my source DONE
Fix all important things
Enable USB OTG
Enable 1080i recording (yes, it's possible)
Run CM10.1 (based on 4.2) on it from my source
Fix all important things on CM10.1
Run AOSP 4.2 on it
We have working CM10 with base functionallity already!

Homebutton wake is working. Just gotta change system/usr/keylayout/generic.kl file to
Key 172 HOME WAKE
Or so
You gotta find it yourself. Maybe CM skips that update and directly goes to key lime pie.
Sent from my LG-P760 using xda app-developers app
Just a little correction if anyone is going to try it. Map key no 172 for HOME WAKE.
And CyangogenMod di tweet yesterday "10.2 It begins." so it must be 4.3 coz KLP would be CM11 in all probability.
Whats to be seen is if L9 continues to be officially supported by the wonderful CM Team.

indeed. jelly bean 4.3 is not that "wow" .. and the main problem is with this versions.
if google makes more 'silly versions' of android .. we have a strong change to remain with 4.xx .
Does anyone knows will we ever get 4.2.2 frol lg, official?

They don't support any other variant. But then expecting them to support different variants of the same device could be too much to ask.
BTW for 4.3 update they are working on the OMAP devices which should be a good news for us

Nexus'
Qualcom devices
OMAP
Tegra 3
Exynos

[Q] Android 4.4 KitKat

Hey there I'm curious to as if our devices will support android 4.4 KitKat because it includes the new API ActivityManager.isLowRamDevice() ... and that it would work on 512 Mb RAM ... What do u think ... and will there be any development for our devices
KitKat
Chck This link it says Kitkat is designed to run on low memory devices which has 512 MB ram.. So will it possible to run Kitkat on our Devices.http://developer.android.com/about/versions/kitkat.html
i think someone will probably port it for our device if developers gets kernel support and technically yes kitkat is designed to run on 512 mb ram devices

I had doubts say that the kernel used for CM10.2 by mikeioannina could be ported and used for KitKat would it run on that ??
Do you mean that xperia 2011 will get updates to Kitkat?

Kiktak should run well on our devices. maybe our devices are to old, but not very weak. I have the nexus 5 kitkat port on my nexus 4 and it is running very well and uses much less ram, even with a couple of apps running in background it is not taking more than 350 MB (previously android 4.3 was taking somethimes 700MB).

[Q] Plans for 4.4 Kit Kat?

Hi All. I'm wondering if, realistically speaking, we can expect to have Android 4.4 on the Atrix 4G? From what I understand, even the 4.3 port is not yet stable enough to be a daily driver, so perhaps it is unrealistic to expect 4.4 to come.

All development is being put into the kernel at the moment. krystian has stated that the 3.1.10 kernel should be able to run 4.4, however if not, he'll work on revising the kernel to match the Nexus kernel (I think he said it was at 3.4?) For us, CM10.1 (4.2) is the most stable current Android version. Cyanogenmod even says it on their page/wiki, 4.3 is at the preview stage, meaning its not at the same stage as all previous versions. That's why it is not stable enough to be a daily driver. Epinter just resurfaced and released an updated CM10.1 to reflect the changes in 10.1.3. He stated in his thread, since the updated release, that he will give CM11 (4.4) a shot. He's not making any promises besides saying that he will attempt to build.

Does Motorola's recent commitment to bringing kitkat to a few older devices help ROM builders in their efforts?
(can't post links yet, google 'motorola kitkat older devices' for details)
Does this mean it might be possible to port the changes to the Atrix 4G?
If had been a good 4.0 version...

Anyway, it seems too much for the price
