S-drive not working, tells me to check the car audio - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I installed the new svoice and sdrive that was ported from the s4 on my s3. It works fine for most of the time but im having problems connecting the sdrive to my car.
I turn on bluetooth, that connects to my car OEM bluetooth right but when i turn on "drive mode" it says to check the cars audio, even though it works fine with making/receiving calls (and it used to work with a similar function on a htc 8x with windows phone).
Anyone with the same problem?
Does anyone know what it is or if there is a way to fix it?
My s3 is a LTE version ( i9305) running ripper rom with 4.1.2 and my bluetooth an audi OEM bluetooth model.
Thanks

I just noticed that now. I saw SIII Q&A and assumed it was for the s3 in general. If the mods find it better to have this on the i9305 section, please move it and i apologize for the trouble.
Anyway, i don't think it matters in this case if its i9300 ou i9305 since the major difference is RAM and LTE and this seems more like a software issue from android or the svoice/sdrive software.

Yes maybe but i am always wary of users flashing wrong stuff to fix a problem as they are in the wrong forum .
Could be a Ripper rom problem as a lot of these S4 ports are picky as to what they work on .

Yeah, it could be the rom. I actually never had much problems with it and thats why i have been using it for a while.
Other thing happened also and that was that i tried to use s-voice ( not s-drive, just regular svoice), that works fine on wifi but using my carrier internet/data it said that it didn't had a connection. Its strange because browsing pages and other apps work fine. Svoice is not supposed to just work on wifi? It should work on a mobile data plan, right?

[Q] Asian Galaxy S3 i9308 modem driver?

I live in China and just bought a Galaxy S3 here, apparently the i9308 model that is sold by China Mobile.
Big mistake, it is bundled with loads of Chinese bloatware that replaces crucial software like Google Play and replaces those with proprietary Chinese services that I cannot use (I can't read Chinese). So, although the phone works and have English language for the most basic functions, it takes all the smart out of the smartphone. I cannot even install an app on it.
The seller refused to refund the money, which is the common way to do business here, so in desperation I turned to custom ROMs, even though I know my hardware is probably not identical with the i9300 which they are usually designed for.
I followed this procedure to install the Omega 2.5 ROM on the i9308:
- Installed CF-Root-SGS3-v6.3 with Odin 3.04
- installed the I9300_Omega_v5.2_XXALF2, using no bloatware option
- Factory data reset
After this it works great, with everything running as I hoped for - except the modem does not work!! So, basically , I now got a dead phone running as a PDA over WIFI only.
So, apparently the modem is not working any longer since it is different from the one in the i9300.
I took a note of the original baseband version used by the i9308 though: I9308ZMLEA
Is there anything I can do to get my phone working again with an English system?
EDIT -UPDATE
I gave up, and tried to restore to the original Chinese ROM as provided here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722247
But although the modem seems to be working and I got antenna bars, I could not be connected to the network, so basically the phone was dead AND I had a Chinese system. Could hardly be worse.
Finally I just took the phone back to the store, said it is broken, and negotiated to get the proper i9300 version as a replacement. It's working fine, and the only problem is it is butt ugly as they only have the i9300 in white color.
Anyway, a big warning to anyone who wants to pick up a phone in another country. Although the phone seems to be the same, some local teleoperator might have completely screwed it over until it's practically useless and nothing like what you have been reading about in the reviews. Samsung has been way too flexible in allowing China Mobile to basically ruin an otherwise great phone.
not to bump this old thread but you wouldn't happen to jnow of the tech support email for chian mobile? or another way to exchange this relatively new Gt-I9308 for the GT-I9300 model as you did in store? because otherwise I'm here in america stuck with a chinese galaxy s3

China mobile doesn't offer the I9300 only the I9308. China Unicom is I9300. My guess is they bought it through a retailer and made the exchange that way.
old post late reply, i know but nvm that, anyway if anyone is still interested in this, here i have the right solution to this. recently i have been collecting some old Samsung phones, i managed to get hold of a Chinese 9308, as u know, all i9300 roms/twrp work on 9308, but can't detect SIM card/mobile network, however i found one version of the MIUI6 roms, so far so good, everything appear to work perfectly, has all languages, Google play & framework (services), most importantly, 3G works fine too. i will shortly provide links to the downloads.

You would be best starting you own thread with your downloads as it'll get lost in all the clutter if you post it in this thread.

no sound with receiver during calls

Hey guys,
Does anybody who ever or being suffered from the call issue like hearing nothing from the receiver during phone calls(I am using I9305 and I know some people have the same or similar problems with me)??Sometimes it work, but sometimes it doesn't!!And the speaker works in most of the cases, whereas sometimes it also breaks down liked the receiver. Moreover,I can hear some cracks from the receiver in some cases.
I am totally freaked out because I am sure that the receiver is good (no problems with skype and wechat, and I also have checked it by using "*#0*#" when the situation happens) and it seems impossible to be solved after wiping and flashing different firmware(both by cwm and odin),and so do the modems and kernel including Perseus.
Today I found sth strange about the call issue by chance: when I lock the screen maybe for more than 5 mins, then wake it up and make a phone call soon, the receiver can't work every times. However, when I put it into use(light the screen) for more than 3 or 4 mins, and then the receiver works again during calls.
What I want to say is: maybe there are sth wrong with the cpu setting or the power management.
Any solutions or suggestions will be totally appreciated!!!
Maybe try flashing different modems? I had this problem too awhile back and flashing a modem fixed the problem.
Writing in big font is annoying..
This is the i9300 forum, not i9305.

I'm a freshman and I dont know much of the rules...Sorry for the troubles...
Actually I have tried to turn off the noise reduction but it doesn't work.Someone told me that is a hardware issue..I have no idea about this,I thought it it just the software issue since everything perform good except calls.

WIFI Madness - Samsung Galaxy S III i9300 (International)

Hello everybody, this is my first post in XDA.
I'm in a dead end with my phone, and after checking the whole forum and of course googling for an answer I can't find, here I am.
I've got a Samsung S3 i9300 (Int) which was functioning perfectly well with Ultima ROM 10.1. Now I tried to move on to 11.0 and found out my WIFI stopped working. Actually, it's able to connect to a non secured network but is unable to cope with wpa2 for instance. For some reason, it tags every network as WPS and fails to connect every time.
Strangely, I tried with a couple of other ROMs (Omega 44.2, Slim, NeatROM) and I have the exact same problem.
But if I move back to CyanogenMod 10.1 or stock, it works perfectly.
Can anyone help me out here?
THANKS!!
I had this exact same problem and banged my head against the wall over it and ended using just wpa, when I get time I'm going to attack the problem again though!

Well yes, but having this amazing phone and having trouble to connect to WIFI on a bar or something... sounds way too un-cool for me!
I hope someone has a solution for this,.. or at least a hint!
Have you tried using custom kernels such as Perseus or Siyah.
The kernel includes the Wifi drivers but not the wpa_supplicant so it should !e easy to pinpoint what causes it.
Also a logcat would be nice.

sadly, this is a known bug in the S3 community :\ you could try to check my thread on Authentication Error and stuffs relating the WIFI. the link is on my sig

I had a look at that post, and I've tried most of those without any luck, and the one I haven't tried like an extreme wipe, I'm not willing to. I know it's not flawless logic what I'm going to say, but I think that if it works with some ROMs, it can't be solved by wiping.
