[ROM][KRT16S][DEC-08-2013] Pure Nexus AOSP KitKat 4.4 for LG optimus G E970 - AT&T LG Optimus G

this rom is with the intention of bringing the nexus experience to the lg optimus g, so is based on the source code of google android kitkat 100% stock, and the kernel and device tree is based 100% on the nexus 4.
I have taken the kitkat nexus 4 kernel and I have adapted it to the Lg optimus G preserving the essence of the nexus also the device tree is based 100% on the nexus 4
at this moment this rom not pretend to have new mods or options, i only one to focus in the performance so this rom is based in the nexus 4 but with optimizations, like a15 optimizations, kernel vm optimizations, ui rendering optimizations, i/o performance for more speed in read and write, building with ART compatibility (dalvik default for now)
my sources are open and free in my github: http://github.com/samuaz
what works?
everything
what not work?
MHL, I WILL FIX THIS IN THE NEXT DAYS
REMEMBER THE PROCESS TO INSTALL THIS ROM IS THE SAME AS OTHERS KITKAT ROMS LIKE OMNI OR PA, You need to update your recovery download from here for geeb
http://ribs.bbqdroid.org/recoveries
Is a flasheable zip flash from your actually recovera and reboot the recovery, next do the wipes and reboot the recovery again And next flash The rom
BUT REMEMBER THIS RECOVERY DONT HAVE A EXTERNAL SD SUPPORT
Code:
you can get back to your old twrp recovery with external sd support flashing it via twrp sideload example
download this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2275794&d=1379880501
that is the twrp recovery with external sd support
restart your phone in recovery mode go to advance and next click on adb sideload
connect your phone to the pc and start a terminal or cmd if you use windows
type adb devices to check if your devices is detected if yes, type
adb sideload TWRP-2.6.3.0.zip
and that will flash the recovery with external sd support,
you need to have adb installed in your pc
the process to install this rom is the same like the others kitkat roms like omni or pa it requiered lasted twrp recovery with selinux support, but that recovery builded by chadouming dont have sdcard support i will build a new recovery with external sd support for our e970

can F180L flash this rom?
besides, do this rom support F93kernel? because i want "double click screen on" function

Silly question since all these days I have been flashing Rom and gapps and now planning to give this phone to my parents who don't know a thing about internet so just installing Rom without gapps phone will be functional correct me if I am wrong what issues I might face if gapps not installed. Than you for the great Rom faryaab.

Does this require the TOUCH version of CWM or will the normal CWM recovery work as well as longer as it is higher than version 6.0.3.2?
Flashed but I can't figure out how to change the options to show what options you can add from the pull down screen.
Is it possible to change/add/delete any of these options on this screen?

ohh? A new super nexus?!? interesting. anybody given it a go yet? I loved SuperNexus 2.0, got worried when there were no updates to 3.0.
google dialer would be a cool addition to supernexus.
I installed this, but it would not allow me to install anything. It would get stuck at installing when doing so from the Play Store.

Installed fine and it pulled down and restored all my apps. I also installed one or two apps from the play store no problem. Installed a few apps by manual apk install.

Hi. What was your CWM version when you were flashing this ROM?
I checked here http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager that the latest TOUCH version for i777 is 6.0.1.0
I was on cwm 6.0.4.4 standard and it worked fine. I did not have the touch version installed. After flashing it is 6.0.4.5 standard version installed.

you need to have the latest CWM recovery installed, usually people do this by just flashing the latest CM 10.2 nightly (that's what I do) lol. I have one sitting on my SD card most of the time. Afterwards, just reboot INTO recovery, do a complete wipe, then install the ROM =D
First of all thank you the awesome Rom, I had few issues.
1. Trying to shoot a video freezes the camera every time.
2. Charged fully and left it stand by and it drained to half in 2 hours just sitting in stand by and it almost 4 hours to fully charge from 20%.
3. For some reason I have a home and home3 launcher and I set home as default and when I restart it switches to home3 launcher and even the listing in settings has moved up/down.
4. Animations are too slow.

I don't have CM 10.2 nightly but I have SuperNexus-3.0-i777-BUILD1
Do you know what the CWM version of this ROM is?
If it is higher than 6.0.3.2, I will try to flash it first before I flash SN 4.0
Currently I'm on SN 2.0
Thanks.

Superuser must be flashed as the recovery script is still intact. Fashing SU in the same session will prevent the recovery being overwritten.
If /system is mounted in recovery, you may get an error flashing the gapps package. Just unmount the /system partition and flash gapps again.
1.) Perform factory reset
2.) Flash ROM, GAPPS, and latest SuperSU
3.) Reboot
4.) Profit

Yep. Its only 163 because gapps are not included (since it is source built and not based on the factory image like other ROMs posted). So be sure to flash the gapps linked. Any will do, but I prefer the PA version as it is most up to date.
Let me know what you think. Aside from what is listed as not working, it is fully functioning.

Cool. Let me know if all is good on GSM side too. Calls, mms, sms.. the usual stuff. Went in to this blind but I assume if it works for me on Sprint it would work on the GSM side too.
Wow very nice indeed. Can't wait to try this out. Your name, good sir looks familiar, did you used to develop/use og evo, anywho, thanks again mang.

Yep! OG Evo it was. Made Unchained on that years ago based on CM 7. Last time I did any sort of development for a device. Wow that was a long time ago lol.
I get this after flashing the ROM:
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/aosp_hammerhead-ota-eng.actofgod.zip'
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/aosp_hammerhead-ota-eng.actofgod.zip'
Not sure what happened :T

Guessing TWRP and you had wiped the system partition. If you wipe system it mounts that partition. Restart back in to recovery and flash again or go back to the main recovery screen, select mounts and unmount system then flash again :good: I will put in a command to unmount system before flashing in the script so this error can be avoided.

To confirm, unmounting system fixed it? Or did you reboot back to recovery and flashed again?
In regards to the app, yeah I noticed that too. Typically, it auto downloads everything when you run the same ROM. Any future updates to the same ROM will still save the info, so when you wipe and flash to the same ROM but an updated version, it will automatically restore. In this case, it is a brand new ROM and a start over is basically all that can be done. Once you've set everything up it should automatically restore on any subsequent build I put out. Best thing I can suggest in the future is titanium backup so you can restore app and app data. :good:
It is also one way to tell who is using the same base.

1. Make sure you have latest TWRP installed.

5. Reboot.
6. Enjoy the awesomeness.
Updating Slim6 build
1. Dirty flash ROM and GAPPS.
2. Reboot.
If you want, you can wipe Cache, Dalvik/ ART Cache and System before flashing ROM and GAPPS. Do not forget to flash GAPPS.

From the mountpoints in device tree it should support any type. Can you check if it works on CM13 or not? If it doesn't work on CM13 fefifofum did not add support for exFAT yet, alternatively you can reformat your sd card to FAT32, Im 100% sure theres a tool that allows you to format storages bigger than 32GB into FAT32 which should be supported by any rom. I've got 16 and 32GB cards for my G4 and G Pad 7.0 formated to FAT32 and never had any issues.

I just tested with 32GB SD Card formatted to FAT32, and it works well in TWRP and ROM.
This problem I had earlier ... unfortunately we can not use FAT32 because I often zip and rar files larger than 2 gigabytes and films more than 2GB ..and if I remember correctly for FAT 32 file one registration is limited to 2 gigabytes
what amazes me that there is no support for NTFS twrp 3.0.2
clean cm13 try and let you know how it went

Im glad to hear it. It might have been some internal error or something with sdcard itself, that can happen sometimes.

Any suggestions on how to solve it?

DOWNLOAD ROM
*****Disclaimer*****
Important note before proceeding!!!
The copy A/B partions zip is crucial in order to prevent bricks. It only needs to be done if your coming from the stock ROM or you recently restored stock firmware manually. Other wise without it you can brick due to Motorola's A/B partition scheme.
Preparation for A/B Roms:
01. Download TWRP.
02. Remove your google account under Settings > Accounts then factory reset your device as FRP is enforced.
03. Unlock your bootloader
04. Use terminal to boot latest twrp.img "fastboot boot twrp.img"
05. While on Slot_A Flash copypartitions.zip (This step only needs to be completed Once only after updating from stock factory firmwares.)
06. While in TWRP choose Reboot > bootloader
07. Now you're ready for ROM Steps below
ROM - Installation:
01. Download the ROM.
02. Use terminal to boot latest twrp.img "fastboot boot twrp.img"
03. Wipe data, dalvik, system and internal storage, then format userdata.
04. Flash ROM.zip + TWRP_installer
05. Reboot > Recovery
06.Install Gapps + Magisk (if you choose)
07. Reboot > System
Updating (AKA 'dirty flash'):
01. Download the updated ROM
02. Boot into recovery
03. Install ROM.zip + TWRP_installer
04. Reboot > Recovery
05. flash gapps + Magisk (if you choose)
06. Reboot > System
Notes:
Any time your internal storage aka "Userdata" is from a stock install you must "format data" in recovery before using ROMS
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

Thank you Rom is really stable and beautiful plenty of customization baked in. Been running it for 4 days no problems at all OTA is also working great two updates already love it
Thanks! I run it as my daily driver. My first official ROM! I have built plenty in the past, but decided to make the jump. As soon as a few bugs get straighten out I will be moving it to Android 10!
Just installed the rom a couple of hours ago, and damn it's good! Only a small problem though, when you make a screenshot the little menu that appears where you can edit and take extended screenshots closes after a few seconds on its own. Is this intended or a bug? If so I hope you can fix it in the next update. Thanks a lot for the rom!

You can change the animation speeds in developer options to slow down that screenshot options. That will allow that edit page to stay on your screen longer.

Thank you, it worked.
As it is getting regular updates I though I would give this ROM a try on my new G7 Power. To be honest it works much better than I expected, not seeing any stability problems and it has some nice features. Still testing, but will probably start using this ROM + phone as my daily.
I did however have a heck of a time installing and getting both the ROM and TWRP to boot on the phone. That mostly had nothing to do with this ROM and more to do with the A/B partitions thingy Google has done on recent phones (which I have grown to hate). Also the ROM's install instructions are a bit vague in parts, so there was a bit of a learning curve (for me at least).
One the upside everything I have tested so far works. Storage encryption is enabled by default and working, wifi works (even with hidden SSIDs), dual SIMS works, camera app works, fingerprint works , call quality seems good. SELinux is disabled, which is not good but I can live with.
A big thanks for the all the done work on this!!

The search bar is apart of the launcher, it is based off the Lawn chair launcher. You could always not flash Gapps and use Aptoide as store for apps..
Any suggestions on the best way to use MicroG with this ROM? It's listed here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71042083 as having signature spoofing but I could not find it. cheers.

Go with the Xposed method. As of late CrDroid Pie dose not support it. That would have to be a custom build.
Thanks @Rondeau79 will try Xposed. MicroG's spoofing check does not detect signature spoofing.

Thanks again for this port o.p
Ive tried all roms accept omni and this rom by far exceeds expectations. The Best Gaming Rom ive used.
I dont know what changes were made from the kernel between the 11/19 build and the 11/28 build. But I got better performance with the 11/19 kernel so i lm using the 11/19 build boot.img on the 11/28 rom update.
Battery drain is less noticeable on the latest build as the 11/19 build was draining very fast.
Once one roots this rom with a few tweaks, one will see a huge boost in performance.
Resurrection Remix was my daily driver prior because of the Led Notification light in which i love on this phone.
@Rondeau79 can the notification light get added to CRDroid like on RR and Aospex...?cOther than that no bugs to report.
You rock o.p..!!!

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Code:
/*

Thank you.
Hi,
Somehow I'm not being to properly install and boot this build.
I repartitioned, then restored the stock partitions via the same script; installed the above TWRP.
I can only see the LOS logo for a very long time.
Any idea what it could be?
Thank you,

I am not sure what you mean. This ROM runs on reparttioned device only. Boot into recovery, select wipe, select system partition and tap on 'resize or repair' button (you don't need to repair or resize, it's just to check partition size). There will be a report on partition size. This size should be above 1.1 Gb or the ROM won't boot. Exit this page without doing any modifications. If the partition size is 800 Mb or so you have to repartition the device.

You do not need to repartition. It works correctly on stock partition scheme (system with 832M size). Also, make sure that in TWRP, all your partitions are in ext4 format.
Try doing this:
- Goto Wipe -> Advanced wipe -> select all partitions and then swipe. Once done go back to main menu
- Goto Wipe -> Format Data -> type "yes" and then press enter. Once done go back to main menu
- Goto Reboot and then select Recovery
- After reboot, tick the "allow system modification" and then swipe to enter TWRP.
- Connect to Laptop/PC and copy lineageos.zip
- Flash only lineageos.zip (for testing)
- Reboot
If you get the welcome screen, then there should be an issue with any other zips that you are flashing along with the ROM.

cm-14.1 works with stock partition scheme. You need repartition only for Android 9 ROMs and above (If I am not wrong as I don't know about oreo)
I have successfully installed on my Nexus 7 (2013) LTE (deb) with stock partition scheme.

Hi,
Just wanted to report that, after restoring my tablet with official image from Google and wiping it and flashing lineageos-14.1, it all went ok.
I then proceeded to flash BitGapps core and Magisk and it's running like a charm.
I don't know why it wasn't running, but I decided to revert back to the original partition scheme, restore stock images, and start all over again.
This version is stable, fluid and fast, and probably it's the best version for our device, since Android Q seems to be a bit more heavy on resources (tried the official flox build).
Thank you for keeping our device alive!

I felt the same which is why I went back to Nougat.
I use microg as only use it for watching movies/tv shows and for reading. AuroraOSS works like a charm for installing apps.
By the way, If you want things like DT2W (double tap to wake), overclocking CPU/GPU, etc... you can also flash ElementalX-N7-6.17 kernel

Yep, that's the kernel I'm running. Mainly because of DT2W. Loads of options when flashing because of the Aroma installer and easily manageable with exkm, which I bought some years ago.

When you flash this kernel, is there a way to re-apply/restore existing settings? I have had to go through the Aroma installer and manually enter the same settings after every update, but I can see an elementalxbackup file in my Internal Storage, which would be much easier to use if possible!

I think you need to use EX Kernel Manager app from Play Store which is basically app developed by the same person who built ElementalX kernel for managing the kernel. But you will need to Root your device for the app to work (if I am not wrong)
this looks great - thank you - does it work with any of the Custom Kernels?

First also a big THX from me for supporting our good old nexus7. You mentioned in #8 that you use microg only. How can i achive that? Is there a ready made microg.zip i can just flash with twrp after rom?

I create flashable microg zip via https://github.com/WeAreFairphone/flashable-zip_microG and then flash it along with ROM, magisk and kernel. Afterwards, I use SmaliPatcher Module to patch and enable SignatureSpoofing so that MicroG works.
I had also raised Merge Request in lineageos4microg so that We can build ROM with microg without syncing repository but my MR is still open and so, Not able to build that.

Hi,
May i know which 'official image' you restored and which version of twrp was used?
I flashed LOS 18.1 before and it work but seems lag. Then I tried to flash this ROM but faced the same problem, endless looping is the screen of upwards arc w/ circle (LOS logo?) running from right to left again and again.
Thank you!
Update: Well, i just follow the link provided by @JT1510365 in https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...oted-unmodified-6-0-mra58v-flashable.3694735/ and download the stock rom, restore to 6.0, it boot normal. Then flash twrp & this rom and it work now.
Thank you for your share of the reinstallation of 'official image'.
