Flashtool 0.9.13 by @Androxyde
XZDualRecovery 2.7.43 BETA or newer.
Current rooted FW version: 14.1.B.1.532 or 14.1.B.2.257.
Special features:
SuperSU integrated in system, FULL ROOT!
XZDualRecovery 2.7.75 BETA (CWM & PhilZ Touch & TWRP) pre-installed;
init.d support (read how to enable)
For both locked and unlocked bootloaders!
In the following guide I suggest you use an external SDCard but that's just good practice, you can use your internal storage or even an USB OTG storage device in TWRP if you like to install, that's no problem!... If you are modding and the likes, best is to have an external sdcard, just for safeties sake.
If you are unable to download torrent files directly, have http://zbigz.com/ do it for you!
How to update to 14.2.A.0.290:
Files:
For C6802: Download C6802_14.2.A.0.290.flashable.zip (Bittorrent: 842MB) and C6802_14.2.A.0.290_Stripped.ftf (21MB)
For C6806: Download C6806_14.2.A.0.290.flashable.zip (Bittorrent: 815MB) and C6806_14.2.A.0.290_Stripped.ftf (21MB)
For C6833: Download C6833_14.2.A.0.290.flashable.zip (Bittorrent: 760MB) and C6833_14.2.A.0.290_Stripped.ftf (21MB)
Save them somewhere you remember;
Due to a little bug inside the updater-script, you need to follow the guide in this post to make sure flashing it works OK. (Only if you downloaded the older version)
Put 'C68XX_14.2.A.0.290.flashable.zip' on (the external) SDcard1;
Put 'C68XX_14.2.A.0.290_Stripped.ftf' inside the Flashtool/firmwares folder;
Create a backup of your phone in TWRP and don't forget to backup the contents of 'SDCard' (the internal storage!);
Install XZDualRecovery 2.7.74 or newer from PC.
In TWRP -> Wipe -> advanced Wipe Tick/Check:
Dalvik-Cache
System
Cache
Data
Then 'Swipe to Right' to make it happen and go back to the TWRP home screen;
Flash 'C68XX_14.2.A.0.290.flashable.zip' in TWRP;
NOTE: do not reboot but go back to the main menu, then go to reboot->power off;
Flash everything in 'C68XX_14.2.A.0.290_Stripped.ftf';
Now reboot to system;
Once you get to the language select screen, reboot to TWRP (no need to finish the guide);
Restore the backup of DATA only, when done go back to the TWRP home screen;
In TWRP -> Wipe -> advanced Wipe Tick/Check Dalvik-cache;
Reboot to system.
The first boot will be slow and after a long wait at the boot animation you will see Android start optimizing the apps on your phone.
Video Guide:
NOTE: This guide is based on an older guide for the Xperia Z1 which has since been updated a few times, but it will give you a general idea.

Enjoy! :fingers-crossed:
Known XZDualRecovery Issues:
Busybox Updater/Installer: If you have XZDualRecovery installed, un-install any Busybox updating app/tool as most if not all of them will install a version of busybox which does not support the lzma compression applets XZDualRecovery depends on. The version installed together with XZDualRecovery is very stable and I have yet to hear anyone complain about it's stability.
How to report errors:
Please, before shouting out "It doesn't work!!1!" or "I lost root!" or even "My phone reboots when remounting /system RW!!" try the following:
Restore any JB 4.2.2 FTF using any means you are familiar with so you can try again.
Root it using any means you are familiar with.
Install XZDualRecovery and then try to update again using TWRP.
If it still fails something from there on: LOGS!!.
NOTE: The important ones can be found in /cache/recovery and in /sdcard1/XZDualRecovery, pack them up and send them to me or attach them to your bug report.
Thank you

Tips and Tricks
Easy switching between locked and unlocked bootloader states!
NOTE: USE TWRP ONLY for this guide.
NOTE 2: You NEED to have XZDualRecovery 2.7.43 or higher to make this work.
Create a backup, including the Trim Area (TA!)
Unlock your bootloader
Restore backup without TA
Create a new backup of your UNLOCKED TA
Restore the previous TA backup to relock your phone.
Done :good:
Now you can switch between locked and unlocked bootloaders quick and painless: no more system wipes and you can basically do whatever you want
How to enable init.d support:
Open a filemanager app and navigate to the location where the XZDualRecovery folder is located and go in to it. Open XZDR.prop as a text file and set dr.initd.active to true.
NOTE: For this ROM it means the init.d script called 99SuperSUDaemon will kick in to action, so it's best to disable (by setting chmod 644) /system/etc/install-recovery.sh for the time being or to clear it's contents.
Done
Downgrading to a 4.2 ROM:
Download C6833_14.1.B.1.532_[NUT].ftf (Bittorrent: 760MB) and flash it using FlashTool. I've also added the FTF to the downloads page on the DevDB tab, this will allow straight downloads as well.
This FTF will allow you to downgrade to .532 without loss of your IMEI :good:

ROM Status: STABLE
Update 1:

Update 2:
C6833 ROM uploaded and seeding.
Update 3:
C6806 ROM now uploading, FTF and torrent file links have been updated.
Update 4:
C6806 ROM uploaded and seeding.
Update 5:
A little bug has been discovered in the updater-script. To be able to flash the one you possibly have downloaded already, follow the instructions in this post to get it to work properly!
I will be updating the packages soon, in the mean time I have updated the OP guide to include this small fix.
Update 6:
Removed the files from the bit-torrent seeder. I'm currently uploading them again now. It will probably take about 30 minutes to finish that, will update again once completed and seeding again.
If you have already downloaded the package, make sure to read 'Update 5' with details on that how to fix yours.
Update 7:
Files have been replaced on the seeder box. There is no need to re-download them if you follow the guide pointed to by 'Update 5'.
Enjoy again!

Why?

Failed
Tried a few times to flash C6833_14.2.A.0.290.flashable.zip in TWRP, but each time it failed in the final step:
Code:
set_perm: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/C6833_14.2.A.0.290.flashable.zip
(status 7)
So I decided to try the flashable zip from jackie099's thread, and that one was successful.

Ah frack, because of this report, I just rechecked my edify script, and even though it was correct typo wise, it is trying to set permissions on a file which no longer exists in the package.
I'll redo the packages soon. Packages have been updated. If you have one downloaded already, follow this little guide to fix yours!
In the mean time, open the flashable ZIP in winzip or winrar, extract META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
and remove this line:
Code:
set_perm(0, 0, 0644, "/system/bin/ramdisk.stock.cpio.lzma");
Put the updater-script back inside the zip, updating the one there. It should make it flash OK from there on.
Thanks for the report!

thanks for all your hard work! however, torrents do not download (understand dependent on other servers etc) hope someone can post these (C6833) Thanks

Set up flashtool to where it asks you to connect your phone:
Turn off your mobile, then hold Volume down while connecting your usb cable. It will then start flashing.
Holding volume up will put your device in to fastboot mode, FYI

ahh, volume down lol. great, that did the rick
thanks a lot NUT! appreciate your job hehe. great work
oh right, i still have the notification of OTA update to 290 after i flashing your ROM. is there any way to clear it?

From common sense, its logical that a rooted rom will obviously work So if anyone still has doubts, go through with it and have no worries It will work just fine
[ps : This is the same method I described so dont get confused ]
I already got it, you need to make a flashable CWM update.zip archive.
This is problem I have very few free space on SDcard.
Would it B so hard if anybody made pre-rooted ftf file for locked BL?

I'll add this to the guide I have written for those with a locked bootloader.
Excellent work [NUT]. Works great! Thanks also to Jackie (thread on general forum), blueether for guides to get to rooted 4.3 and NUT's 532 for the C6833. All super work, not to forget to mention so many others (LordManhattan), hamdogg etc.
Used the Xperia xposed apk someone posted forget where and got the extended power menu module loaded and working.
Guessing this is safe as well for 6802 right?

It will work fine, I'm using the 136 ftf for c6833 on my C6802.
The phone will think it is a c6833 with lte options etc
Thanks, [NUT], excellent work. Why don't you update the OP to state more explicitly that people coming from .290 can restore their data partitions from the backup? That would be useful to many.
Edit: Well, I read the OP more carefully, and it seems that this time we don't even need to wipe data, so there is no need to restore anything. Am I right?

[GUIDE][VIDEO][locked BL]Rooting Android 4.4.4; Ver. 14.4.A.0.108

I`ve updated the complete guide by changing the way you have to do these things and making a Video out of it. Thanks [NUT] .
Files:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053...
http://nut.xperia-files.com/
Steps:
Enable DEV. Options and USB-Debugging, PC Companion must be installed AND CLOSED.
Download SuperSU and place it into your internal storage
Download ZU-lockeddualrecovery2.7.154 INSTALLER here, extract it and run Installer.bat.
Use option 3 and follow the instructions
Device will reboot, make shure your device goes into Recovery by pressing vol. up.
In recovery flash SuperSU.zip
Reboot and you're done
Enjoy root
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Busybox is already preinstalled, don`t override it! The APK from the Play Store is useable but don''t tap on install or uninstall, this can result in trouble.
Point 1. You write about downloading TabZ-lockdualrec - why? You have been tested on C6833, it is ZU. Why not to download ZU-lockdualrec and use it? Recovery for ZU is broken or som? Version for TabZ and ZU are the same, have the same build number… confused

this should also work on non C6833 Z Ultras. The. point is i only have the C6833 to test it and the tabz one doesnt need root to work while phils recovery also works for the Z Ultra.
so the TabZ Recovery Installer gives you only a temporary root on 4.4.4 and installs the recovery, which means after reboot the Root is gone (enugh for installing Recovery). so you need to Root it again permamently via the easy Root tool after rebooting and install SuperSU directly after it via Recovery, so that not every app can have root Acess whithout asking you.
using this order all works perfectly.
update to 4.4.4
enable usb debugging
run easyroot bat
reboot
install supersu from play (and update binary when prompted)
run ZU Dual recovery installer bat (from same @[NUT] dl page)
done.. easyroot and supersu (via play) before recovery is a neater option and then no supersu flash is required (plus you have supersu so can grant adb shell access when asked during the recovery flash). You then choose method 1 instead of 3 when flashing recovery ("already rooted with supersu" option instead of the "about to root with towelroot" option).
cheers..

Or you install XZDR with option 3 in the installer menu and have @Chainfire's latest SuperSU flashable ready on your sdcard/internal storage before you do. Then you can flash it the instant you enter recovery for the first time and be done with it

@Lightbird I see there is a ZU-lockeddualrecovery2.7.141-BETA.installer.zip. Is this newer and should I use it instead of 2.7.128 ?

you can try it, the .132 stucked in Towelroot, thats why you should use .128 instead. However if this one stucks in Towelroot, too and you want to have the newest Version you simply can flash the flashable.zip version after rooting whith the .128.

This message appears if you didn`t extract the files bevore using the .bat file ^^. Try again after extracting the Files in a seperate folder :good:.
If this doesn`t work try to run this as an Administrator (rightklick - run as Admin) (maybe your permission settings block the script loading other files). If you cant run it directly run cmd as admin and navigate to it:
Cd.. = directory up
Cd (folder) = navigate into (folder)

What does the script do?
It basically removes the partitions present from your device and creates partitions with modified sizes.

Features
Adds more space for more apps.
Reduced cache partition for even more space for apps.
No need for a computer, fully flashable in CWM.
How To Install?WARNING: From this point onwards, this guide requires your fullest attention so that it will not brick your device. I tested this on my own i9100, and it is working perfectly.
Links will be provided at the end of the post.
This will wipe everything from your device! Please make a backup before proceeding. Don't say I didn't warn you.
There are two methods to flashing this script. Both works perfectly fine.
Method 1 If you're using 1.1 and above, steps 6-9 are not needed!
Download the two recoveries provided in the Download post below.
Reboot into recovery (CWM or TWRP needed)
Flash philz_touch_6.07.9-i9100.zip and reboot into recovery.
Flash the repartition-apps<xxx>-data<xxx>.zip (Note: It will hang at rebooting to recovery in 5 seconds. Just take out the battery and boot it to recovery.)
Flash kk-kernel-05-01-TWRP.zip and reboot into recovery.
Click on Wipe, then Advanced Wipe.
Tick Internal Data, then click on Repair or Change File System.
Click on Change File System, click on EXT4, then swipe to confirm.
Click on Change File System again, click on exFAT, then swipe to confirm.
Go back to Advanced Wipe, tick on
Dalvik Cache
Cache
System
Data
emmc
Then swipe to wipe the 5 partitions.
Next, click on Install and install your preferred ROM.
Reboot and enjoy!
Method 2 If you're using 1.1 and above, steps 5-8 are not needed!
Download TWRP and the "parted" file from the bottom of the post.
Using a root browser (Root Browser recommended), place the parted file you have downloaded into /system/bin and set its permissions to "RWXR-XR-X".
Reboot into recovery and flash kk-kernel-05-01-TWRP.zip and reboot into recovery.
Flash the repartition-apps<xxx>-data<xxx>.zip
Click on Wipe, then Advanced Wipe.
Tick Internal Data, then click on Repair or Change File System.
Click on Change File System, click on EXT4, then swipe to confirm.
Click on Change File System again, click on exFAT, then swipe to confirm.
Go back to Advanced Wipe, tick on
Dalvik Cache
Cache
System
Data
emmc
Then swipe to wipe the 5 partitions.
Next, click on Install and install your preferred ROM.
Reboot and enjoy!

First response it seems. I'll have to try this later as I haven't had to repartition my S2 and it sounds a lot quicker than using say ODIN for the job. Anyone had any issues yet?

I am sorry if this is a stupid question, but what happens to the space between 12.4 GB and 15.2 GB? In the original partitioning there is 1.94+11.5 = 13.44 GB of space, while this setup has only 4.48+6.33 = 10.81 GB. Thank you for you time.

Debloat Guide
Below is a list of system apps that are potentially safe to remove.
Always make sure to have backups.
My recommended app is Titanium Backup to remove/disable apps.
If you are unsure, try freezing/disabling a few apps to see how things go
Second List- Stats
This is a list of system Sony Data collection /Stats apps. I have been testing these for a day or so and they appear fine to remove but this one is a maybe, please note that I do not use sony apps like keyboard or xperia home, only the xperia email so thse sony apps may/may not be related to those apps. You can always try for yourself and see:
If you are unsure about an app I will do my best to try and figure out what it is. Also if I missed any or if anything needs to be added please let me know :good:
To state the obvious, if you are uninstalling things like stock launchers, keyboards and things, always make sure to have the replacement app set up before you uninstall things
Good Luck

Hi there,
This is not based off stock, this is based off Sonys Concept Rom, you can find more info here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/sonys-android-concept-marshmallow-t3229536
It's more lightweight than stock and is closer to AOSP, with a few sony features.
I dont have a D5833 so I cannot confirm if this works or not, if you want to try it you can, just make sure to a have a backup ready
Hey there, thanks for this ROM!
I'm on latest Concept with SuperSU 2.79SR3 and Xposed installed. Could I dirty flash your ROM if I uninstall Xposed first? Or should I wipe everything?
What about the camera quality in comparison to stock? Is fisheye effect present?

Second post updated with debloating list. If you want me to provide explanations for each app I am happy to do so.
As always, make sure to backup before modifying your system., I always recommend Titanium Backup to remove/backup apps.
I have taken system apps down from about +-150 to about 85.
I have also disabled a few extra things that are not on the list like NFC services because I don't use this feature.
Good luck :good:

Zip installs fine for me, please can you provide more information? Just saying you get status 7 is not very helpful.
1) Have you tried re-downloading the rom and checking the md5 to make sure it is not corrupted.
2) This has only been tested on D5803, D5833 may not work
Also make sure you are running the latest version of TWRP and that you are already running concept rom and is rooted

2) This has only been tested on D5803, D5833 may not work
Also make sure you are running the latest version of TWRP and that you are already running concept rom and is rooted

My device is D5803 too. I try 2 downloaded rom ams checked md5. Is this the latest TWRP recovery https://dl.twrp.me/z3c/twrp-3.0.2-1-z3c.img.html ?? I think could be the recovery...
may I suggest including DRM restore function?

Edit: I saw it's included in OP.

Try redownloading the ROM.
This is the screenshot of the error 7. I' m in Concept 3657, rooted with superSU 2.79, with TWRP 3.0.2-1.
If i edit script in zip file, deleting assets line, and rename file to 220117_Concept_Plus_Beta2.zip, then gives me error 6.

Have you tried redownloading the rom

So I am having Bluetooth issues and when someone is calling me it doesn't display the thing where it says to answer,I need to wait for the person to hang up then call them back.
Could it be because I flashed this ROM over CM12.1?

For me sometimes it would work to flash TWRP MultiROM recovery from here:
http://www.dl.myself5.de/aries/MultiROM/TWRP-Multirom-20160606-00-aries.img
If it doesn't want to download then long press on the link and press the last option which should say like "Download connection".

Yes, possibly. As per first post, please make sure you are already running the concept rom and are rooted. Also make sure to set Google Dialer as default dialer
