[ROM][All-F2FS] SlimKat with All-F2FS support [02/05/14] - Nexus 7 Original Development

SlimKat with "All-F2FS" support
I have modified SlimKat to work with F2FS partitions. All credits for the ROM to SlimKat guys.
This is for "All-F2FS" that mean that /system, /cache and /data are formatted with F2FS.
This is needed to switch to "All-F2FS".
ROM contains my Kernel with "All-F2FS" support and other goodies.
Ported sl[aou]b from Linux 3.4
Ported timer and workqueue from Linux 3.4
Ported random from Linux 3.13-rc4
Ported rwsem from Linux 3.11
Kernel NEON Mode
Etc..Etc..
Added GPU OC (Franco way..)
Added Toggle for FSYNC
Revert CPU OC things (We don't need it and it was a bit dirty..)
One of the goodies of my kernel is that i was able to reclaim more 18MB of RAM for Android. As you can see in Settings we are now at 993MB.
MultiROM isn't supported as now because i need to patch it to work with "new" ram.
What is F2FS?
F2FS (Flash-Friendly File System) is a flash file system created by Kim Jaegeuk at Samsung for the Linux operating system kernel. The motive for F2FS was to build a file system that from the start takes into account the characteristics of NAND flash memory-based storage devices (such as solid-state disks, eMMC, and SD cards), which are widely used in computer systems ranging from mobile devices to servers.

Wonderful, can't wait to try it - thank you! Do you have any idea yet whether you'll have the time and/or inclination to keep up with future Slim builds?

I've been using SlimKAT as well on my tilapia. It seems that overall, tilapia has been left behind on most ROMs for the N7. I don't know how difficult it would be since as far as I know the only difference is the existence of a radio, but if you could do this for us that would be awesome!

Can u please modify the latest OMNI ROM nightly or can u at least point out exactly what needs to be modified if it isn't extremely complicated like changing 100s of lines of code in the source?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Is it possible that there is something wrong with the rom's zip file?
I'm asking since I've tried installing it on my grouper multiple times, and each time I got stuck at the Slimkat booting animation. When I downloaded the latest weekly from the Slimrom site and applied your kernel and the g-apps, everything worked fine.

I think that you didn't follow the instructions. Read them Otherwise let me know..

I installed the grouper version on my tilapia ( I couldn't wait) but I had a little problem flashing gapps. I couldn't flash full PA gapps because there wasn't enough space on the system partition. I usually use PA stock gapps with slim ROM. When I reverted to the previous file system with your zip( it worked, I tested it ) I flashed full PA gapps successfully.
Did you try to use art? For me it caused FC's.

PAC-man ROMs
CandyKat ROMs
houst0nn
arcardinal
mathsz
zymphad
ronasimi
AK
and everyone else working hard on the LGOG
Bugs:
I use these as daily drivers. I can't code at all, so squashing bugs is tough. Let me know and I'll try.
Installation:
You have to have been on stock 4.1.2 or LGNPST'd to it or teenybined your RPM/TZ partitions. Search or ask if you don't know what that's about.
Do a nandroid backup
Wipe: data, system, cache, dalvik
Flash PAC-man ROM
Flash GApps
reboot
restore apps and app data using TB or your another backup application if desired
Downloads:
PAC-geeb 10/13/14
CandyKat-geeb 10/13/14
To flash I recommend using my TWRP 2.8.1 build.
I would use the BaNkS 4.4.4 minimal Gapps.
I use the AT&T Jellybean radio.
Kernels:
AK geeb kernels for CM and AOSP mako based ROMS:
AK.360.geeb-cm.zip
AK.360.geeb-aosp.zip
AK gee kernels:
AK.360.gee-cm.zip
AK.360.gee-aosp.zip
To maximize the capabilities of these kernels, flash:
UKM,
install the Synapse app from the playstore,
and remove or disable Trickstermod, Faux control, or any in-ROM kernel control apps and settings.
If WiFi doesn't work after flashing the kernel, try flashing the Revert_4.4.3_Wifi_Fix.zip. It may fix WiFi on 4.4.2 ROMs and 4.4.4 ROMs that don't have the updated mako WiFi drivers.
These kernels won't work on gproj or E970 official ROMs based on gproj device sources. Ask me, your ROM dev, or just about any other experienced member on here if you don't know about compatibility.

They are both feature rich Roms. I wouldn't call either one vanilla...there are lots of things in both that are not in vanilla AOSP Roms. To me, it appears that Beanstalk uses CM and then modifies stuff, and PAC modifies from AOKP. I'm pretty much judging this from the layout of the system menu. Both are very feature loaded...similar but not identical feature sets. Beanstalk has a newer pie implementation. PAC has PAs per app DPI settings instead of using xposed for that.

Good point. Maybe vanilla wasn't the best descriptor. I meant there wasn't much on top of the AOSPA/CM/AOKP features.

Gotcha. Yep, I'd agree with that description.
From what I've seen, PACman, BeanStalk and RootBox are all pretty much different ways to "interpret" a hybrid of CM/AOKP/PA. The major stuff is pretty much all there in all of them, but each one has areas where the Dev prefers one implementation of something over another. It's really personal preference, I think, that determines which one is better for a given user.
Has anyone downloaded the 9-1 build? The filehost says 0 downloads for some reason.

[ROM][All-F2FS] OmniROM with All-F2FS support [30/03/14]

OmniROM with "All-F2FS" support
I have modified OmniROM to work with F2FS partitions. All credits for the ROM to OmniROM guys.
Hope i dind't any errors writing this down. I personally tested this procedure.
Enjoy.
First thank you for the rom. Will you update this rom on a weekly basis?
Hey thanks. Will try it today when I get time. Will give feedback, hope u update it at least once every two weeks.

Wow.
Held off installing on my Sprint S4 but this looks like the perfect thing to try on my tablet. TYVM.
Can u pls upload somewhere? Media fire is so slow and that is when the download actually starts which it rarely does. Can u upload on g drive or anywhere better like zippyshare.

Hi, I have installed this rom and seems to work very fine. But I have only one problem. When i try to install Xposed Framework this message appears. This is related to Rom or SU problem? Thanks
Hey, just flashed the ROM. Followed the procedure point to point except I also flashed ur legokernel and superuser zip cause omni ROM isn't rooted from default and then I formatted everything. Now I rebooted and its stuck on Google logo.

Any chance we can get a AOSPAL all-f2fs build? It is the #1 smoothest fastest trouble free ROM I have ever tried on my N7. Please?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2636893
Ya I'm hoping for a AOSPAL ALL-F2FS support as well. This is my current daily driver and might be the one I stick with. Its vary smooth, stable and fast. Also nicely customizable as well.

this was an issue for me as well. i restored the stock nexus 7 software and tried starting from pretty much complete scratch. i'm afraid to reboot because of that, but will give it a shot.
on a related note, i've gotten a system message saying that there's an update for omni-4.4.2-20140313-grouper-NIGHTLY.zip
are updates to be turned off until there's an F2FS update available?
edit: just rebooted, everything rebooted nicely.

Yes turn them off for now.
I discovered the problem with my procedure. I was using the gapps recommended by omni team that I use with the regular omni ROM, the ones from the PA gapps thread. Those were the problem. Also, Lego kernel isn't working with this ROM, N7 gets stuck on Google logo.
Edit: after a second series of flashes I have came to realise that actually the gapps were also the fine. Its the Lego Kernel that was messing things up. Tried the M-kernel f2fs and that also isn't working and is resulting in a freeze at Google logo. Now I am just gonna give up on kernels and just flash omni ROM, gapps and superusers.

As has been said before legokernel and m-kernel and all the other kernels as far as I know are NOT ALL-F2FS supported yet. They are only F2FS on the data partition. This OmniROM will not work with those kernels until someone can modify them to work with ALL the partitions formatted to F2FS file system a.k.a ALL-F2FS. No one has done that yet...

Thanks for the rom. Overall the n7 has become much snappier than it used to be. Is there anyway to revert the theme of the playstore back to the stock theme? I don't like it. Some texts are not readable

I've never had experience with this filesystem but have had similar messages when using inbuilt superuser on their ROMs.
I would suggest using the latest SuperSu as it's complaining it can't use the mount and copy commands which do need root.

Unofficial OctOs 5.0.2

Since I had the repo downloaded and I ported this to my Bionic I figured why not give the other OMAP4 boys a taste of this sweet ROM. I want to begin with I DO NOT OWN THIS DEVICE SO I CAN'T TEST BUGS. Now that that is clear, lol big thanks to @Bobcus Leper for testing the initial zip so that I can start building for Maserati.
Requirements:
-Half a brain
-A desire to have an awesome ROM
-The new SELINUX enabled SafeStrap by @stargo
-A XT912 Motorola Droid Razr for VERIZON
Screenshots (Click Link)
Downloads
ROM: Gdrive - XDA
Google Apps: PA GApps
Superuser: SuperSu Flashable (UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.45.zip - 30 Jan 2015)

Bugs
When turning Off Hotspot(wifi tethering), phone may reboot

I have no clue. @Bobcus Leper told me that it booted and that he would test more tomorrow. If you want to test just make a new rom slot and flash. This was built using CM12 device tree so it should have all of the working functionality of CM12.

If you wipe system, data, and both caches then yea. If you want to dirty flash though, be my guest just don't report bugs since every single dev requires a clean install if coming from another ROM.
One thing to mention, with any of the Team OctOs ROMs for Android 5 (A5), it will take quite a bit longer to flash than other A5 ROMs. To the point we specifically fixed the progress display. Be patient!

Yea CM12 takes like 5-10minutes to flash for us. And initial boots take ages especially since we use kexec..

I meant TO Builds tend to take longer than regular CM12. CM12 uses a image-based system, and we prefer the individual files.
Any screenshots or features list? Will probably give this a shot tomorrow. Thanks!

It runs as smooth and is basically equal to @stargo's latest CM12 build. Since this ROM is built from CM source, expect the same bugs. The stock camera does work by default in this rom.
So, after an hour of testing, unless you want added features (color and statusbar customization) this ROM may be for you. If not, stick with CM12, because it is essentially the exact same ROM.

@Oggie7797, My grandma has a DROID BIONIC, and my RAZR blows that phone out of the water! Not to mention that her screen has terrible screen burns all over, from the screen protector. The Bionic only has a regular TI-OMAP-4430 1000~300 MHz not the plus version right?

Incorrect if she updates to jb it clocks at 300-1200. When bionic first was released it was clocked at 1ghz but they realized at jb "hey let's clock it to an actual usable speed" lol

[KERNEL][M] ODS Kernel r3

Hello all.
Today I am proud to bring you ODS Kernel for Android 6.0, based off FrancoKernel r33.
The purpose of this kernel is to build off of the amazing base that is FrancoKernel, and add a variety of passive patches, as well as some minimal features.
Features:
- Uses a Ramdisk based off of ChainFire's new SE Policy, meaning that we are able to leave SE Linux Enforcing, and retain Root
- Adds Kexec-HardBoot Flags to default build
- Disables some security check to allow (hopefully) for a full Kexec bringup in the near future (I'll be making an attempt at it, please PM me if you are interested in helping)
- Edits Ramdisk for additional MultiROM compatibility
- Built with custom ARM-EABI-4.6
- Adds partial ability to load kernel modules (in prep for aforementioned Kexec Module bringup)
- Everything included in FrancoKernel
To be implemented:
- Make use of ChainFire's new non-system altering root setup
- Allow for Wake gesture
- Allow for screen off gestures
- Add several binaries to ramdisk
Changelog:
- 8/31 - Happy Halloween!!!
Initial Release
Only setting that should be enabled by default is Charging LED, which can be disabled through any variety of Kernel Configuration apps.
I strongly recommend grabbing the FrancoKernel Updater app from the Play Store to support FrancoKernel's developer! If you want a free alternative, I recommend Kernel Adiutor (Not a misspelling).
To try the kernel, you can just "fastboot boot boo.img" To flash the image, you can use: TWRP Image Flash Option, "fastboot flash boot boot.img", or good ole' dd.
Source can be found here: https://github.com/npjohnson/ODS-Kernel-Shamu

Happy Flashing!!!

Flashed multiple times on Pure Nexus rom and couldn't ever get it to boot. Flashed from Franco kernel.. Anyone got this to boot? I installed through twrp and flashify and no go. Even tried Chainfire's boot image then su 2.52 then this kernel and no go. Bootlooped every time.
Maybe I need to do a full wipe and install that way?

Like I said above, apologies, the one on git is broken.
Also, FYI, I test the kernel on both stock and PureNexus. It works beautifully on the 10/30 build of PureNexus, and even allows for Enforcing SE Linux, whereas Bean's kernel opts for Permissive.

Thank you sir. I redownloaded kernel from link in op as you said and boot image flashed fine in twrp.
Any plans to add Francos color control in? Like the presets like he has in FKU? I immediately missed that feature. Going to give her a run a few days and see what happens. Thanks for sharing!
