ROM Manager says CWM 6 is installed - but I boot into Android Recovery - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

So I used ROM manager to install CWM recovery 6.x.x.x on a brand new, fresh stock install. The app says that CWM is installed on my system. Yet when I boot into recovery it takes me to the Android System Recovery 3e. Any ideas what's going on?
Edit: I have root access.

Try using Flashify from the Play Store to flash a recovery. For some reason there's been issues with ROM Manager and many have gotten by this by using Flashify from what I've seen.
ROM manager may not be Lokifying the recovery or something I'm not entirely sure. Something going on there though

Thanks guys. I am on MDK. I ended up trying GooManager and it properly installed TWRP, so I just went with that.

Installing recovery issues

I tried installing cwm with rom manager and when I attempt to boot into recovery I am at the android screen with a triangle. I then used rom manager to flash rom racers cwm and I thought it was successful but I got the same screen when booting into recovery. So I used goo manager to flash TWRP. Same issue when booting into recovery. I am unlocked and rooted. Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong?

Here's an idea - stop using ROM manager!
How about you try flashing recovery using more traditional methods, like fastboot? That hardly ever fails.

I'm was just following the directions in the thread for installing cwm. The directions are dated since this is an older device. That's why I asked the question. TWRP is the recovery of choice for me on my GS II.

Did you delete (or backup) install-recovery.sh from /system/etc? If not, then that is most likely causing your problem. See the "Miscellaneous" section of this 2nd post from romracer's thread.

Key Mapping for Recovery start
Can someone dont forget to implement Key mapping for starting the NEW recovery Mode.
Im proudly a happy user of this great phone but a recovery to start from off situation were pretty cool.
An app or a tool for erasing download count and others to be tweaked were also very helpfull.
Best regards
not work is bootlop to recovery is some like my build

I guess you downloaded them from the official cwm site?
Soz for asking all theae questions but it's pretty interesting!
Not really no, but the size is different they're bigger I'm assuming because of some minor bug fixes.
Yes I've downloaded them from http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager

You ll need root access and the app superuser!
Get the .img file from first post.
Get an terminal emulator from market and open it.
We ll flash it via dd on terminal.
Move the .img to internal sd via file explorer.
In terminal first type su.
The command for flashing is in the first post. Begins with dd.
All right?

Your phone is not bricked, it is save-able just revert to stock rom if possible, reflash original recovery, OR install the right rom for your phone you may have installed an incorrect rom or kernel

Ok i am factory reset with some essence of AOKP on the device... but no gapps, lets see if that flash works even though it failed last time
I installed this now
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187854
And still, boot loops.
How the hell do i find a rom to use?!?!
Now when i reboot into some sort of factory reset... it still has the custom boot load screen and such... and i put a new file on the SD card i cannot flash it.
This has all been one nice ****ing nightmare.
Can someone please link me to a zip that i can flash from recovery that will freaking work?!
How are you flashing? Did you make a backup first? More importantly did you do a factory reset in cwm before flashing? That link you showed for mean beans works in this phone so it's something on your end

Sorry for all the confusion, i have the phone at least working now so I am calmed down.
After doing the root method, i installed clockwork and clockwork premium. I then downloaded that first ROM which should be for my phone. I selected install rom from SD and also checked backup current rom/wipe cache. When clockwork went to reboot, it booted up in a different recovery manager like TWMN or something? and it said the backup failed. Now the only way to get my phone out of boot loop is to select factory reset. However, when it is reset.... it really is not... i did factory reset and i have all of the options available to me from the ROM, the boot logo, the settings like CPU changing.
I downloaded several ROMs and all of them boot loop. the latest was the Liquid one i found on this forum, it bootlooped after flashing through CWM so I selected factory reset and now the phone is working best i can tell.
The only problem is i cannot get Netflix to work.... or Songza. Both apps fail. Netflix lets me log in and see all my stuff but just says "loading" when i try to watch a show, even after deleting the cache and a full re install.
I have rooted before and have never had issues like this with the boot loop. Something had to have gone wrong.

Multiple Problems with Note 2 in general

Alright I have been having some problems with my Note 2 that would be for instance I used to use TWRP but know I use ClockWorkMod Recovery and I don't want to anymore but I try to switch back and it said it did but when I go into recovery mode it just goes into ClockWorkMod Recovery. Also another problem I am having would be I am trying to flash over a new rom (Jedix17) but when I put it on my sd card it says its on there on my computer but when I go into CWMR it nots even in there.
Anyways or ideas that you guys can think of to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
How are you installing TWRP? I would say ODIN or adb it. Also CWM is not seeing which SD, internal or external? Put TWRP on internal and try that if you have not already.
Just download goo manager and install the TWRP recovery through that.

Thought it was pulled from goo cause of having to have the correct boot loader? I know it said my device was not compatible or couldn't find it for my device. Pretty sure that it said that on the twrp page.

TWRP Update

I have a sprint g3 that is rooted and running twrp 2.8.0.0. I am trying to update to the latest recovery version. I downloaded Goo Manager from the play store and when I click on install openrecoveryscript, it says unable to find a recovery for your device. I know the latest version is 2.8.0.1. I tried going to twrp website but could not find it there either. With Goo manager, I installed from the play store but when I go to google play and do a search for goo manager, goo manager does not come up. I also checked in my All apps and goo manager is not listed, this is very weird. I was going to uninstall, then reinstall but goo manager is not in the play store. Anyone have any suggestions??
After doing some extensive research, apparently the goo servers are down for service. Does anyone have the updated version 2.8.0.1 of twrp for the sprint g3 that I could upload, thanks.
Look in the original Dev section. There's a 2.8.2.0 version (I believe) and it's flashable in recovery. No need for goo manager. I'm not even sure if one you got from too would be properly bumped.

[RECOVERY][BUMPED][LS990] TWRP touch recovery 2.8.2.0 [12/13]
Twrp 2.8.2
I flashed it with Flashify and it works o.k. :good:
I flashed with twrp and it worked good.
Have a question, I see version 2.8.4 is out. I went to the twrp website, it said I could download and install through twrp manager which I already have installed. I downloaded from that app but then this window came up and I am unsure about. I will try to post a screenshot.
Also, I am on a spring LG g3. How do I know if this twrp is bumped or not?
I don't want to brick my phone and it said if I'm on the wrong partition, I would brick it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
It will not brick your device. Partition is correct. If it s not bumped you cant access recovery that s all.

Thanks, I flashed through twrp manager and all appears good. I don't know if you know anything about live backup in twrp manager but I did a backup from twrp manager and it only backed up two files, just data and system which I thought was weird. Live backup does a backup without booting into recovery so you can still do things on your phone while its still running. When I do a backup via recovery, there are usually about 10 or so files when it gets done. But when done with live backup, there are only 2 files?? Anyone have any suggestions on this? I paid to get live backup through twrp manager so I would like to use if at all possible.

Just curious, I thought if you installed TWRP thru TWRP Manager - that it only installs TWRP and not BUMP along with it.
I was under the impression that TWRP and BUMP were installed together if you used Flashify.
How do I tell if I have BUMP installed? Is there an app like Bump Checker (i.e., Root Checker) - I ask, because I can get into recovery - does that mean I am BUMPED?
Thanks!

If TWRP is working for you then you're good.
Only install TWRP's from this forum to be safe.
The G3 versions of TWRP that TeamWin posts for download are pre-bumped except, possibly, the T-Mobile version.
Thanks meyerweb! That was so confusing to me before, whether or not I was bumped or not!
