Screen protector - Samsung Gear Fit

I'm thinking about buying one of those screen protection things, as on my hand the display seems much more vulnerable to accident scratch. I've seen Spigen and Xtremeguard on Ebay.
Anyone has it? Comments about quality and visibility with the protector on?
Thanks

In using the Spigen and I don't even notice it at all. Because of the curved screen I really think it needs some protection.

Oh, nice. Could you please provide some photos?

How? My screen is scratched 1st day!!!
Also my frame around the screen got a scratch.

Hi, quick review.
dont buy this **** :
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/6Pcs-Nacodex...l_Phone_Screen_Protectors&hash=item3ce07d868c
the film doesnt fit the gear at all, its too small , i cant understand how they created their product, its a robbery...
Now, i just buyed the screenguard for gear fit, will tell if working .

Never had anything on any watch I owned

yes but its not a watch, but a smartwach.. i owned also many watchs, but the screen was in saphir, you can do anything, the screen will never be broken. I dont think its the same with the gear fit, and what do you want to do if the screen is scratched and you cannot interact with it ?

I interact with my Note 3, as I did with the Note 2 and all the phones before never got a scratch.
Got to admit got watches scratched, say carrying something brushing against a wall.
Could happen, has not yet but if it did I do not care much.

The yellow tint is covered by the warranty, might take a couple of weeks but you get to keep your warranty.

In most cases lcds are glued to the glass... Ive replaced both lcds and the touch glass in phones and the two parts can be prized apart quite easily there's enough glue left over to stick the new parts together too

Thank you for your replays,,
so, I want to understand something here, if the cause of this is the glue between the glass and the lcd not the lcd itself, the glue can it be cleaned?
what I found is this item in the link from ebay which is the lcd

it is coming as one part I think the glass and the lcd right??
"Why So Serious?" it looks like you have an experience with this stuff what do you advice me to do or change??
for those who talk about warranty as I told you I don't have warranty so I don't care about it

Hello,
this might sound strange but, do you think it is possible for me to get my phone´s screen replace under warranty even though my screen is broken, but luckily I own one of those xperia which has yellow spots on the display when the phone gets warm.. I read the other day article about it, that sony replaces those screens under warranty.

[Q] Shatter proof sheet/pre applied screen protector

Hi People,
just wondering if the Sony logo will come off with taking that thing off. Anyone experienced how scratch resistent the "real" glass of our Tablet is?
On my Xperia Arc S I took it off in the first month of use...got it almost 2 Years now and only 2 noticeable scratches.

You got a full black glass front then
With cm10.1 on it i will have a nexperia tablet z without the logo.

After much hesitation, I finally got around to remove the pre installed film last night.
It is not easy to remove , but it is worth it. You get better touch sensitivity and clearer picture; and it feel so much better to touch actual glass than plastic!
Use a blade or a sharp object near the corners to lift the film up carefully without scratching anything else.Fingernails didn't do the job for me!
After you have lifted a good amount of the film, you can pull the rest by hand; but it doesn't come off easily and will leave some residue behind. Use a clean cloth to remove the residue. Voila!

Nope. I think that happens only to certain models of the Xperia Z phone.
Though I personally would have been happy if it did come off; don't care too much for the branding and would have liked a plain black front
Will the screen scratch easier without the film, or is it som sort of gorilla glass under the film?

I don't remember exactly the spec, but I am pretty sure it is scratch resistant glass but not the 'gorilla' brand.
I hate screen protectors and am okay with a few minor scratches as long as the don't interfere with the screen when its on.
Worst case, I got Sony Care if the screen gets really damaged and hopefully can get it replaced.
I expect the anti shatter film to be similar to the one in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GzYnDnZDRg
I'm keeping it on the tablet, at least for now.

Sir, you mentioned that you have already removed pre applied screen protector on your Xperia Arc S, so I was wondering is that this layer about half of millimeter smaller than the whole screen?
please answer as soon as possible.
Thanks!

It's the layer which stands out a bit if you look from the side or feel it with your fingernail. I recommend something like a thumbtack or something else sharp to remove it but watch out not to damage your screen! The screen may be sticky after removing it. Just wash it with a wet cloth some times and after 1 or 2 days of usage it will be gone.

G5 + polarized lenses - anyone else?

Hey Folks,
Enjoying my G5, but I am confused. This is the first phone I have ever owned (and I have owned a ton, most recently 6s, S7, S7e, HTC 10) where when I'm wearing polarized sunglasses, I cannot see the screen at all unless I hold the phone in landscape orientation. This may sound silly, but it is an enormous pain in the rear as I always have my sunglasses on in the car and outdoors. I have never seen this before.
This is my third G5: first was a T-mo variant, then the dual-sim and now I got the H850 + Hi-Fi adapter. I swear the previous two did NOT have this issue, though perhaps that is my imagination. Does anyone have similar findings? I've tried two pairs of sunglasses with identical results.
-Collin-
I heard about this, I can't remember where but I think it was something like most phones do their polarization at a 45 and for some reason LG did it at a standard viewing angle this time.
My screenprotector solved this problem.

The only spigen screen protector I found on the spigen site is the *LG G5 Screen Protector Crystal.

I have a Yoo Tech screen protector and don't have the polarized glasses issue. It seeems like a good screen protector. Curved at the top and covers the full screen. Got it from Amazon. Took a while to get here though. That may have been due to backlog when they first started making the curved full screen ones.

Oh sorry @ YMatrix was a bit confused myself as well. I meant to say Nilkin H9 cornered glass. https://www.bol.com/nl/p/nillkin-am...rotector-lg-g5-rounded-edge/9200000058484688/
I can't believe someone would manufacture a phone with the glass polarization oriented in such a way that you can't see the screen in portrait mode if you're wearing polarized glasses. Every phone I've ever had had it oriented so you can see it in portrait mode and not landscape mode. If there are manufacturers that do it at a 45* angle, I'd like to check one out in person.
It is interesting that a screen protector fixes it, but I guess I can see how. I'd imagine not all would work.
Well thank you guys for the replies and for confirming my worst fears. I guess I will get a screen protector, which I hate! Can't believe this.
Drove five hours in the car yesterday with GPS and it was torture.
-Collin-
I realise this is an old thread but just thought i would share my experience with the screen issue.
My original G5 had a serial number beginning with 604 and I had issues where the screen would "black out " in portrait orientation with polarised sunglasses on, landscape orientation was fine. I had this phone swapped out for a new one under warranty due to another issue and received one with a serial number beginning with 605. This phone is viewable with polarised lenses in either orientation there is only a slight shift in colour temperature between the two, one being "cool" one being "warm". I have noticed that the screen on the newer built phone has a better quality image and colour range than my original handset also so I think LG may be sourcing the screens from a couple of different suppliers again. From what i can gather the screen on my new handset has a display manufactured by LG, the code number being LG4946. This is the same panel noted in the teardown from ifixit.
Cheers
i had this issue with a HTC M8 but with the G5 it is not present

Why wouldn't you turn it sideways? I mean it's unbelievable it does this, but your car holder should rotate?

Did the screen protector fix this issue?

Naked feels so good!

Because of the recall I pulled off my screen protector and after using glass screen protectors for the last 3 years all I can is is duyammm duyammm duyammm this feels good. I guess it's the olephobic coating but this feels so much better than any tempered glass protector by a huge margin.
Anyone else notice how "soft" this screen feels?
Pfft! Raw is always the best. It's the natural way.
Oh dear, this thread isn't going to end well.
Come on guy's a bit of fun is fine but keep it clean, we have children who use xda so be careful please
Regards

I also removed the Ghost Armor I had on the front and rear of my Note 7. The screen feels better than I remembered before the film was applied. The replacement phone might only get the rear film if any at all.
I've never liked the feel of screen protectors (either glass or film). I've also been lucky (or careful?) and not had a phone all scratched up either.

Screen Guard/Protectors (Film) not glass

I'm still looking but only have tempered glass or glass or gorilla glass protectors. Can anyone locate the plastic film types of protectors?
I've had screen protectors in the past as this is enough to stop key scratches and small drops.

Did you try ask Dbrand? They don't have Xperia 5 in the lineup, up to zx3, but I'm almost sure, they'll do you one if you ask.
And I guess even if they won't, you got nothing to loose by trying mailing them. :good:
Unfortunately I don't think this phone has anywhere near the user base for dbrand to produce for it. They're a Canadian company and Sony doesn't offer any phones there currently, and they barely sell any phones in the US.

Thought it was worth a try. ?
Maybe ES then? EasySkinz? You cant know, unless you ask?
Dbrand is to me known, for making skins to whatever, if they get the job. I could be misunderstanding though.
Otherwise. You could just buy some quality m3, and do one your self? With a scalpel and heat? You'll have some try and error in a single sheet. Can't see it should be that hard really. (Just a brainstorm idea, I wouldn't be scared to try, and in what ever color or pattern you wish?) Win win imo. You just need to do the measurements and cutting your self. See it as a fun challenge! And make some custom sh!t! I'd love to try actually, but I'm using a case, and I don't have any m3 laying around. And nothing to use the rest of a sheet for so seems brainless for me to go out buy. When never gonna be visible. But I'd encourage you to try, why not?
:good:
Lastly. If not in mood to try your self. Go down to a car wrapper, with a box of beer 30min before closing. They'll wrapp this no time. I suppose.
 :victory:
That's a wrap. Lol
Guess I got nothing but bad ideas. Sorry.
BTW I actually successful broke my first h9 tempered glass. Real glass. It was cheap but fitted Nicely. But it shattered, phone is intact. :good:

Does anyone know a good silicone protector/case for the xperia 5?
https://www.mobilefun.de/roxfit-sony-xperia-5-protective-soft-shell-case-clear-76819
I have used these protectors on other devices for years
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/303361246627
They wasn't available so I requested them and the following day they we're released. Not tried it yet on the Xperia 5 but will do when these cheap ones are removed.
Previous experience is the ease of application and can even use water to help fit them properly.
