The moment you request Unlock Code from Moto, your warranty is void(Unless you live in EU).They flag your IMEI and it is registered in the database.
Now, if you're lucky, the local customer care might help you (knowingly or unknowingly).
PS: That's the reason I'm gonna wait a few months before requesting a BL unlock.
As used in this Legal Agreement and Warning, the term "Unlocked Device" means a Device for which an Unlock Code has been obtained, regardless of whether such Device's bootloader has actually been unlocked, relocked or whether such Device's software or operating system has been modified or whether it's original, unmodified software or operating system has been reloaded. In other words, once a Device's Unlock Code has been released by Motorola to User, the Device shall thereafter, for all intents and purposes, be deemed to be an Unlocked Device, irrespective of whether it was, in fact, unlocked or modified.

Nope, impossible...
You had void your warranty when you unlocked the bootloader...
Unless you brought it from EU...

Or you can just return it to Flipkart?
Sent from my XT1033 using Tapatalk

That should work. But Flipkart will send it for quality check to Moto service center and they won't pass it.
You can try though.
Sent from my XT1022 using Tapatalk

Once the Bootloader is unlocked, a fuse inside the device is irreparably blown making the device's warranty void forever. So, No, it is impossible to revert iswarrantyvoid:no to yes. Unless a dev could write a Bootloader which doesn't scan the fuse or whatever and always displays iswarrantyvoid:yes. But Alas, why would they?
P.S Read it on the internet somewhere, not sure, the Moto G XDA Forum probably.

Its called an eFuse. I'm not sure if Moto E and G also have those for BL. 'Cause if the efuse is blown, it wouldn't relock.Won't matter if you reflash your stock ROM.

I would like to send the phone in service, so I am interested in whether it is possible without problems through official unlocked phone?
The first time I successfully unlocked and is now locked to send in service, that if it can be again unlocked the same way?

yes bootloader
Should work the same, just if you get replaced device back, then IMEI is different.
Haven't tested, not sure, just an opinion.

i know that the imei is different if i got another device, but if i got same device can i enter same cod i use firs time to unlock bootloader?
Yes, code stays the same then.
Are you sure? If we're talking about BL unlock, isn't the code calculated based on the IMEI? So, if you get a new phone (different IMEI) then code should be different...

1. Loose warranty if si number aint the same.. Coz si number is written on hardware ( in xu,... Below the battery)
2. Loose warranty
3 . Root can b unrooted...so unroot it before u get to a service center
4. Unlock bootloader - loose ur warranty for sure
5. Any other process - mods and other software modifications leads to lose of warranty

4. Not true, can easily go to locked boot loader, always
You will never lose warranty, you can always go back

Sony's website clearly states in capital that
Unlocking ur botlotloader will void ur warranty
And its not like u do anything u retain the warranty jz by flashing any official rom and relocking bootloader
Si number of the software needs to match wid hardware
And if checked ( hardly takes anything to check) will indicate software tempering and a voided warranty
Sent from my ST25i using Forum Runner
Nope, because you can relock it your warranty won't be voided
Also if you keep it unlocked, you will only lose warranty on software, not on hardware.
I have had 3 Sony phones (2 se 1 Sony) I develop on all of them, returned them for warranty like 15 times and never had any issues.
Si number Is only for updates not for warranty, imei is for warranty.
I know all of this, because of my contact by Sony Holland and Sony united States

I think if they use EMMA I finds that your DRM keys are gone, they might void it.
Drm keys arent that important
They are jz meant for some softwares

It says unlocking may void warranty.
This is what Sony UK told me:
Hi #####, validating the warranty of a handset once the bootloader has been unlocked is done on a case by case basis which is why we are unable to say for definite whether or not the warranty would be voided by doing this.
However, unlocking the bootloader is usually done to load custom roms and unofficial software which does void the warranty in most cases.

hi,
that is only to scare people, with flashtool you can relock the bootloader and and restore to stock firmware.
Emma doesn't give problems, tested it myself
they also won't check for drm keys.

emma is sony's official flash tool. and a question, when we unlock the bootloader via sony's website, sony getting our phone's some informations and imei, isn't it harder to find warranty? can sony's service say "it looks like your bootloader locked but sony says it unlocked before and she isn't virgin anymore"? (with relocked bootloader)

[Q] Warranty status after unlocking bootloader of Xperia U

Hello everyone..
After using ics in my xperia u, I felt its pretty laggy...
So im thinking of unlocking the bootloader..my only doubt is whether after unlocking the bootloader, I completely lose warranty or not..
Does relocking the bootloader restore the warranty or not?..ive seen that for unlocking bootloader, a code is needed which involves provision of Imei no., so does sony store the details in their servers about which phone's bootloader has been unlocked?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Cheers..:good:
If you unlocked your bootloader, your warranty completely gone. If you know how to relock your bootloader back, then your warranty will restore back if the Sony service centre does not know you unlock bootloader.... unlocking boot loader needs your imei number so they can give you the bootloader code... sorry, my explanation very messy!!! Hope you understand it!!!

I guess this is relevant...
I unlocked the bootloader of my Xperia Neo in order to install custom roms / kernels. Later I noticed that my screen had some objects burnt in it (most likely due to excess heat).
I reverted to stock firmware, relocked the bootloader and sent the phone for warranty repair. They replaced the screen and the touch panel, no questions asked.
In my case, there were no problems with the warranty despite the previously unlocked bootloader. Note that the situation might not be the same for you (different problem, repair staff etc).
In other words, there is a chance that unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty of your phone. It is up to you to decide whether it is worth the risk.

Yeah, that could be the case but I'm not 100% sure: according to Xperia Blog, Sony has refused to repair some phones with unlocked (or relocked) bootloaders (http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/07/25/sony-refusing-hardware-repairs-on-handsets-with-unlocked-bootloaders.

Yes there are traces left behind if you unlock and relock your bootloader-its the DRM keys. They are lost forever once you unlock your bootloader and even if you relock your bootloader, they won't get back.
And if a service center checks for DRM keys, then they'll surely know that the bootloader has been unlocked and you cannot invoke your warranty.
Does testpoint method work on 2012 models? Bcoz that method unlocks BL without loss of DRM keys.
Guide says it works on 2011 models, but doesn't look updated. And anyhow phones with fixed battery will not be able to use it anyhow.

Does Rooting POCO F1 voids warranty?

Hey XDA Family ,
I have been wondering about if Poco f1 still be in warranty if it is rooted, or not?
I am from India (New Delhi).
When it was released it is said that it will be a developer-friendly device and will be on-warranty even after rooted. is it true?
Help!!

OK bro, listen.
There's no way someone can know if you've rooted your phone after you reflash the Stock rom.
And about unlocking bootloader, you are applying for it and the mi itself is allowing you to do it, so no risk there; also you can relock your bootloader.

Yes it does bro.
There is a particular tweet from Alvin Tse clarifying what is covered in the warranty. He mentioned that the warranty covers even if the device is rooted, bootloader unlocked and customized. However, it will not cover customization related to overclocking of hardware in anyway will void the warranty. This cover but is not limited to CPU overclock, screen refresh rate increase and battery charge tweaks.

We do not spread false news, the warranty with the unlocking of the bootloader is NOT invalidated, Xiaomi allows the unlocking of the bootloader while maintaining the warranty, but if you break it modding with custom kernel / rom you will have to pay to fix it.
