See new DEV DB thread. Thank you
Test build for GT-P5200 COMING SOON!
Looking for two testers to download, flash, and provide feedback as I do not have access to a P5200.
Current "stable" builds for P5210 only. P5200 test build coming soon.
Two builds. One is mostly debloated, and the other is a modified TouchWiz ROM. Each one is listed below. Thank you.
As with all ROMs. Do a backup first, and as always there is always a chance of your device bricking.
Screenshots in build notes by version in post 2
Based off of the files @Restl3ss posted for the stock 5210 and 5200 Deodexed rooted roms:
GT-P5210 Deodexed
GT-P5200 Deodexed
NOTE: Allow Play Store to update Google Chrome prior to first use. If you don't it will only force quit until you do. This is a bug I am trying to squash. Whether I replace the file with a newer version or not
Features of both Debloated and Regular:
Rooted
Deodexed
Epic Android L Launcher by Nikao
JRummy's Root Browser
Titanium backup
Lean Data ( I have found this little tool to be the best way to save battery)
Goals:
Custom Theming
Faster performance
Suggestions and ideas welcome.
See Release Notes and Screenshots in Post 2.
Change log in Post 3.
Flashing Instructions: Fully tested with Angel666 TWRP recovery
In TWRP
BACKUP your current rom
Factory Reset
Install zip.
Wait 10 minutes. (usually take 4 to 5 on first start)
Enjoy

Debloated notes:
This is not 100% debloated, and I have added a few apps. Root browser and Titanium are available for your convenience.
On first start it will ask which launcher you want. Choose TouchWiz to initiate the home button then switch to Epic if you want to try it. Let Google Play update Chrome prior to first use. It will force close, if you don't.
Some minor bugs and issues.
Remember to set all your settings manually in settings from app drawer.

The alpha build seems to flash well. This is the only time I plan on having alpha or beta builds. Unless I make major changes.
I made a custom bootscreen.
I am thinking I might just place Nova Launcher in as the replacement for touchwiz home. As soon as I make up my mind on apps and launcher I will post the beta download link.

Looking forward to flashing your rom.
PS: I'm not a brave soul, so I'm waiting for 01/07 :fingers-crossed:

I have suddenly been busy lately and have not made much progress on the theming. I might continue work on that and put it in a future rom and leave the Samsung look for now with no touchwiz. I'm still making minor tweaks so it is not 100% stock.
I will have a Beta download link posted by Saturday. Yes anyone will be able to download and flash it. I need more feedback.
Edit: Had it ready in less than one night. Just a few more things to work on.

Nice to see. I am curious... could you share some screen shots please?

I will get some up shortly. I got that done late late last night.
As a description it still looks very stock. The only noticeable difference is Nova Launcher instead of Touchwiz home.

requests
cag,
downloading for testing now.
my request list [for your kind and thoughtful consideration] is as follows;
1- improved experience from command line/terminal [some roms the term does not hold to working directory and wrong busybox version]
2- a seperate gapps and bloat package
3- the removal of all wizards for an out of the box boot to desktop experience
4- maybe a pre-adblocked host file ?
5- include quickpic and jota free version
thanks for reading and i will post if i find something helpful.
m
okay so,
everything seems mostly good
please change default wallpaper, maybe a frame from boot animation?
when bash i get precmd not found
my own taste in keyboard is hacker's keyboard
userdata dissapears after flash, reappears on restore of daily driver, just a directory preference i guess, no big thing
just point it out in op
same kernel as grievous so didn't che k otg, assume it's good.
some widgets [picuri ram, particularly] don't load correctly till reboot
terminal hang till reboot, figured superuser just being cranky, default set for allow with su nonag would be nice.
what mods made to nova launcher?
if i come up with anything else i'll post.
m

THANK YOU for the feedback!:victory::good:
I will consider making 2 packages 1 with and 1 without bloat. Unfortunatly as much as I like the idea of an ad blocker, a lot of developers depend on those ads for income. I prefer to let the user choose to place that.
Ihave been looking for keyboards. I will look at hacker's. Ihave noticed the terminal issue. I am currently working on the wallpaper. Ihad some issues with it earlier in the week that had me take down the link. Ihave not made any mods to Nova launcher yet.
Do you use bluetooth? Ihave a bluetooth keyboard that I use with it and as you may notice some of my words don't space out. It continually disconnects and reconnects. Iam not sure if it is the bluetooth or my keyboard.
I am considring a fresh start from the stock backup I made. To resolve some issues Imade.
Thank you for your feedback. This is my first ROM and so it is a learning experience for me. I feel like learning here before Itry other devices.
EDIT: Iam guessing it was the picture frame widget that was unable to display correctly until a reboot. Ihave tried to recreate the issue several times but it seems to work every time for me. If you could give me more information Iwill try to look into it more.

My device won't turn on or charge at the moment. I was flashing some builds to it last night and it worked fine. Put stock back on it and went to sleep. Battery was at 60%. Woke up and it won't power on or charge.
I will continue to build. But unless I can get my tab working, I will be working blind. Anyone want to test builds for me? I will let you know of what changes I am looking for in each one.

i'm good for testing :good:
on device- you boned your kernel, when you plug your power cable in the kernel kicks on and gets the charger stuff going.
mess that up = no charge/dead device/not bricked. happened to me on bad sbf with droid2. you need a spare cable,
clip it,strip it, find pos&neg on cable, open device, find pos&neg on battery, tie them in, double check you have it right,
THEN plug cable into charger, and only for a few minutes [10 tops]. you only need enough charge to get to odin mode
and flash stock kernel. you can shorten the process by setting up the jumpstart first then connecting your cable by
regular means and odin while you have a live power source. should take 3 or 4 minutes tops. be careful, be wise, use the force.
afterthought- search for and check out some teardowns for your device first to get
familiar with things.
m

I had suspicions that I might have. I have been foolishly optimistic about a simple fix though. I have been on YouTube marathons about teardowns.
Funny thing is I used to work on hardware a lot until a few years ago when I decided I hated working with these new devices. I enjoyed the old pop the screws off and go approach. Lol

The project has been on hold for about a week. I am moving everything I have onto a new desktop which doubles my resources. I have copied all my information off my windows laptop to this new system, and now I will transfer everything over from my Linux laptop, which is where I have the Cagrom files. I plan to be back to normal by Monday. I am looking for another good storage device to. I am looking for 3TB or more that I can actually afford.
I will set a new goal for July 15 to have a good rom by. By good rom I mean a rom that meets my expectations and differentiates itself from others.
Thank you.

[ROM] MelodyMod - Dedicated Music Player (05/06/12)

PLEASE NOTE: FLASHING THIS ROM WILL MAKE YOUR PHONE USELESS AS AN ACTUAL PHONE. YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO MAKE PHONE CALLS WHILE RUNNING THIS ROM, AS ALL PHONE FUNCTIONS HAVE BEEN REMOVED. YOU BASICALLY HAVE A WIFI/BLUETOOTH ENABLED TOUCH SCREEN MUSIC PLAYER WITH THE ABILITY TO DOWNLOAD APPS/BROWSE THE WEB IF YOU SO CHOOSE TO.
With my purchase of the Galaxy Nexus, I found it hard to just toss my "Sexy Nexy" into her original box and into the closet where she'll likely never been seen again. Read someone suggesting using it for a dedicated music player, so I decided to do just that. After playing around with several other ROMs and just basically gutting them, I decided to just take a base ROM, "theme it", gut it, move a few things around and come up with my own Frankenstein of a ROM. Never used the Kitchen before, nor did I have any experience on what could and could not be removed, so after 2-days of trial and error, I finally got the results I was hoping for (still don't know which libs and such can be removed though). With that, I present to you...
♪MelodyMod♪
Android 2.3.7
Based on MIUI 2.3.30
Deodex
Zipaligned
Beats Audio/SRS Mod
SuperUser/BusyBox
Themed (using MIUI theme customization)
Apps Removed:
Basically everything from /system/app folder (had to leave a few things like GMail because it kept causing force closed loops even after rebooting and gutting other things I thought would solve it).
Apps Added:
AdFree
ADW Launcher (removed MIUI Launcher)
JukeFox
DSPManager
ESFile Explorer
Music Paradise (need to sign into PlayStore, search for it and click update...it won't take for some reason, just force closes without that)
Pandora
Play Music
SuperUser
PlayStore
REQUIREMENTS:
Should work perfectly fine with just about any HBOOT; radio shouldn't matter because you have no cell reception. Not much to read here...
TIPS:
Changing Language To English on First Boot

*Once logging into PlayStore, you will receive random process.google force closes, so unless you really feel the need to download apps, don't bother. They are not very frequent but still annoying at times (I think its a Google sync issue)
*JukeFox has a setting which allows overwriting of the default lockscreen with a pretty nice music control one, if you choose not to use MIUI default music player.
Thank you to everyone who created everything I used, because obviously I didn't create any of this myself. Rockodev for the Beats/SRS libs, everyone involved with MIUI, Iperzampem0 for answering questions for me via PM , dsixda for his Kitchen...everyone

Great Idea...I was thinking along the same lines, but didn't see the need to "gut" a ROM, since the music/etc. would be on the SD card anyway.
Congratulations!

The main reason I saw to gut it was to try and improve battery life. Removing telephony and such that'll search for a cell signal will drain battery.

I was really interested in this ROM. My N1 is also my dedicated music player. Has development stopped? My only real beef with it was the few remaining visual aspects of it having been a phone. If I remember correctly it constantly reminded me it had no cell signal.
Maybe someone smarter than me could pick this up? It was a neat idea.

I've done quite a bit of development on the S3 over the last year or so and have learned a ton since releasing this (I knew nothing when I did this).
I currently use my N1 as a speedometer for my newest car purchase while I troubleshoot and fix it.
My point is, I may put something together to make it a dedicated music player and release it on here

I too don't use my N1 as a phone - well, actually I use skype now as my phone and people can only call me when I'm connected to wifi. Which means at home, at the office, or at a free wifi hotspot. Any other time you can't reach me, which suits me perfectly. Apart from skype, I only play music, so I'm curious about this ROM as well. Provided it can run skype as well as the music stuff, I'd try it.
The only thing putting me off it at the moment is that all those force closes tells me its probably not stable enough to use as a skype phone. But any further development (or a new music-focused ROM) would be interesting to try.

I just checked my dropbox account, which I haven't used it years, and it appears I deleted it. I have since built a completely new rig so my old files are gone.
I'm highly considering setting the kitchen up again just for fun and making one. I still have my Nexus (it's actually sitting on my computer desk).

some ideas here too
I did something similar but I didnt create a mod mostly just showed how to take any phone and make it work as an mp3 player and get great battery life.
I'm still using the HTC Rezound as my primary music player and the battery life is still really good.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644588
So, my wife had been using my Nexus as a speedometer because the one in her car went belly up for some reason. It's been in there for months.
I cleaned it off the other day and what do you know! The MelodyMod r2 file was still on the internal storage. It's what I've had running on the Nexus since I created it.
I've re-uploaded it, in case anyone is interested. I've had probably 4 or 5 PMs about this ROM randomly over the year, so I'm sure someone wants it.
Enjoy!

EDIT- Just an FYI, I am NOT supporting this ROM so please do not ask for updates or anything. It does work though, it's what is running on my Nexus now which like I said was being used for months by my wife for the speedometer app.

Have you ran it for a bit @kkozma? How's battery life, I know its been poor in some 4.4.2 builds for the Rez.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Poor battery life with the Rezound is just a fact of life... I know that switching to Art DOES increase battery life, but there are issues with Art that really make it not that great for a daily driver.
I've noticed a few graphics issues in this rom that we don't have in CM, so I'm going to have to investigate that a bit, but otherwise it's been pretty stable.
Netflix hack posted in 2nd post. Tested and working.
Nice job. Thanks!!!!!

So your saying that the battery life is as "typical" on KitKat with the Rezound as any other ROM?
Also, what issues have you noted with ART that might effect it being a daily driver? I use ART on my Nexus 4 and it is trouble free... What do you see as the reason ART couldn't be a dd ROM in this case?
Can someone post a screen shot of this once it is installed? Please
@kkozma ROM seems really smooth. YouTube, BT streaming and calls, and camera functions all work well with dalvik runtime. As you mentioned ART does seem to have issues at times.
Great job on the build - look forward to testing it out more as a DD.

Will post some screen shots shortly... Pretty plain jane, so not sure what your looking for.
One thing I noticed, from the home screen if you press Menu -> Settings nothing happens, no menu, pressing Settings from App screen works fine. Also, if you press Wallpaper from Menu on Home screen you get "Launcher3 has stopped" (Nevermind, it just didn't like the fact I had the SD card mounted as USB Storage, once I turned it off, it was fine). Just starting to play around, haven't even flashed Gapps yet.
EDIT: some basic screen shots attached, not much to see though
EDIT2: Gapps installed (Banks), base configuration, and some basic apps installed (Play Store didn't reinstall apps coming from LiquidSmooth) and ran it through some everyday stuff... Exchange email, WiFi Hotspot (tried Nexus 4, HP laptop, XBox360 all successful), media playback, Chrome, Google Maps, etc. all working fine, no issues of any kind so far other than the Menu->Settings things I mentioned above. Going to give it a run this week and see what happens... nice work @kkozma and the rest of the devs. :good:
EDIT3: Added a screen shot from after I configed with basic apps I use, a few widgets, and gapps... in case someone was interested.

Wow... memory usage is amazing so far, averaging 390MB free?!?! I haven't seen that in a LONG time!!!
Been using it for a little while, it's really fast. Might be because I had that install of CM11 for a while and I wiped it for Evervolv, but who knows.
With xposed and Gravity Box I'm not missing anything.

Not sure about GSM. I do know that Evervolv uses a slightly different telephony codebase. Give it a shot!
This is my new daily driver ROM... I tried to break this, really I did, but I couldn't... everything works, Bluetooth, camera, tethering, prox sensor with no tweaks, Exchange email/calendar/contacts... everything. The ONLY think I found that isn't working is when you press Menu->Settings it does nothing, but accessing settings from the pull-down or app menu works fine.
Battery life is average, not terrible, but not great. Memory management and usage is amazing, and I am running with close to 400MB free on a regular basis.
FYI to others... this ROM is plain jane, there isn't any fluff at all, it is as very basic and has few tweaks and settings but that is by design. That isn't a bad thing but if you are used to Tachyon, Carbon, or others it might seem like something is missing, but it isn't, just be aware you will have to add the apps and stuff you want/need that are anything beyond the core of Android. Out of the box there is barely one full page of apps and only basic widgets, so you will probably need some lockscreen and widget add-ons as well if you are used to other ROMs.
All and all, for the first full blown KitKat release for the Rezound, this is a stable, usable basic ROM... I whole-heartedly recommend this ROM.
Will continue to use this as my DD, if I run across anything I will share.

Thanks for the glowing review! If it means anything to anyone else. I've installed this on my wife's Rezound and she has no complaints. She's as big of a technophobe there is, so I'd say that's also a good sign. Haha!
How about mounting the SD Card for USB mass storage? I wasn't able to get that going on mine and I saw someone in the CM thread with the same issue... I think it's probably something in the mount points, but I'm chicken to mess with that stuff!

It worked fine for me, but I did have to turn it on manually from the dropdown menu.
Edit: now that I think about it, all I did was access the internal storage to grab my screen shots, I didn't try to actually access the SD card, I will give that a shot when I get back to the office.

Ok, I just tested GSM with my AT&T sim card and it did not work. It's possible it was caused by something I missed in one of the config files to build with. I have corrected that and am re-building now.

omg AOKP
i've had so many memories with this ROM on various devices i've owned..
UNICORNZ!!!!!!!!!
ok, first off i would like to report the installation process.
it's about the same as CM11. if you need help (aka if you're a noob) go there. basically you need at least CWM 6.0.4.5 or TWRP 2.7 or higher to flash a kitkat ROM.
the first time i flashed it, it booted one time and i went through the setup until the screen went black and i found out the tablet turned itself off. i turn it back on and it won't get past the AOKP boot animation.
second time, i was able to get through the setup. on first boot, when i went into the stock launcher and then tried going to the play store, the tablet locked up entirely until eventually giving a Google Play Store FC. but it was still unresponsive so i forced it off (long pressing power button until screen went black).
on third boot, the AOKP boot animation loaded, and worked for about a minute before going 1 frame per minute and then turning itself off. it appears the same thing will be happening from now until eternity on this build.

Hmm very strange, i've been running this build since it was built and haven't had any issues. I'll be doing a repo sync and build in the next day or so so hopefully you will have better luck with the next one. Without any logs or experiencing it myself there isn't too much I can do right now
I'll give your next build a shot.

i think i'm gonna try cm11 before your next AOKP build and see if that helps anything. it's usually recommended by some people that you get on a CM rom before trying a derivative.
is there anyway to enable full google play access for this ROM? (for "incompatible" apps (or so they're listed))
i haven't messed around with any android build for a few years so I'm a bit rusty and behind on the methods on how to do it.
I've tried the xposed "all apps in play store" module with absolutely no luck. thank you for your reply (when ever you get around to it)
Hi LowEndGeek,
This ROM is SICK!!! The performance is out of this world! I can't even believe it's the same tablet.
Running Quadrant GPU tests, I'm seeing solid 50fps (a little higher if I enable ART) - nice! :good:
Only thing that I can't seem to fix is with the latest update to Google Play Services, it breaks location services so Google Maps and weather apps don't know where I am based upon the wifi signal. Seems to be a fairly common issue with the last couple of updates to Google Services so it's most likely nothing to do with the ROM.
Anyway, THANK YOU for a sweet ROM to make this thing fly! :victory:

Sorry to hear about your laptop! Hardware or software issue?
FYI, I let my daughter at the tablet last night and this morning. Over 3 hours of screen on time, bunch of game playing (big and graphically challenging ones) and she said it's like having a new tablet. She said other than a little slower load time, performance was on part with her Moto X! No lock ups, Nada!!!
Additional fyi, I was experiencing entire system freezes when exiting Quadrant and if I used TricksterMod to tweak any governors. Uninstalling TM eliminated all freezes (other than the Quadrant one).
Thank you again and I hope your laptop issues are nothing major!

Hey everyone, sorry about the absense, i'm getting my issues sorted out however. What happened was the internal fan got busted and the charger broke so I couldn't charge and my laptop would over heat easilly, I have gotten a new charger and just ordered a replacement fan which should be here in a couple weeks. Plus I may be getting a new cpu (much faster then the one I have now) for my birthday.
Soon i'll be able to get back to work, also I am working on a new ubuntu touch port.
Came from a CM7 rom... Updated to CWM 6.0.4.8.. Rebooted into Recovery again, Flashed Rom and GAPPS. Got stuck in a bootloop for 40 minutes.. Anyone have any idea of what I could be doing wrong? Haven't used AOKP in a while, must say the new Boot animation is cool!

Device: i605 (Verizon Note 2)
Hey all! I am here to bring you the latest version of AOSPA-Legacy to the Verizon Galaxy Note 2! This is always compiled from the latest AOSPA-Legacy sources compiled with the CyanogenMod kernel. I have added some new features to the AOSPA source, but there are no extra apps in the final build.
NOTICE:
This is an unofficial build that I made for myself that I am sharing with all of you. I have a set use for my phone and therefore cannot test everything. Because of this, your warranty is now void. I am not responsible for any damages this ROM does to your phone, but just know I only upload after testing on my phone. Results may vary. Also, this ROM will be updated when I get around to it. I do not have the infrastructure to build nightlies on this computer (it's a laptop btw), and will only update to add new features/fix bugs, maybe weeklies, haven't decided yet. Perhaps I could become this device's new maintainer since everyone seems to be gone, but I'll get to this later.
Without further hesitation, let's get to it!
INSTRUCTIONS:
MAKE SURE YOUR BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED!!
Reboot into either the latest TWRP/Philz Recovery
Wipe Data, Caches, etc.
Install this Rom (Download Below)
Install PA-Gapps
Wipe caches again (eh, why not?)
Reboot
???
PROFIT!

Experimental Build! (Should still stable, just need some feedback on these 2 new features) -> Download
Added Dynamic System Bars!!! (You'll find this under Settings->Display)
Added Mobile Network Battery Saver Mode(Automatically switches to 2G Network after the screen is for 30 seconds [unless a music streaming service is active] and sets it back to 3G/4G when the screen is turned on!)
11/19/2014
Added a swipe to switch between Quick Settings and Notifications
Added Quiet Hours
COMING SOON!
The new Card-Based Recent Apps
Gerrit is down but being fixed, so I am not able to cherrypick these two items. Hopefully PA can resolve this soon and they will be added.
GOOGLE CHROME UPDATE: There seems to be an issue with the latest build of Google Chrome (v39) where the app will always start in floating mode. To return to full screen Chrome, clear app data after updating from the Play Store and every time you open Chrome pull up the Recents Menu (default is long press home button) and select Chrome again. It will now be full screen. This seems to be an issue for all of AOSPA.
Another fix is to stay on Chrome v38 and not update. Link To apk
Weird issue after installing
Not sure if it is related to this ROM or not but I had not encountered this previously under any other ROM. Installed this last night - wiped everything with all the normal steps. Also installed the latest PA GAPPS (the link in the first post - installed the Full version). Restored most of my apps with TB and everything went as normal. This morning, the phone, while just sitting on my desk, made a noise (maybe like I got a notification). I picked it up and it was pretty much loading and displaying things from different apps and videos on my phone without any input from me. I could not get it to respond to any button presses and was even having issues trying to power it down until I just pulled the battery. I re-loaded one of my backups from another ROM and everything appears to be back as it was and I've not experienced the same issue at this point. Can't say 100% it was this ROM but thought it better to at least note it.

Hmmm...That is a very strange issue indeed! Did you install a custom kernel? Were you running any Xposed Modules? Would you be willing to try this ROM again and report if it happens again? Thanks!

I did not install an alternate kernel- usually I find it pays to stick with the one that came with any ROM I install. AGNi kernel always seemed to give me one problem or another. But I digress. I might try to install again to see if I can replicate but it was a little disconcerting as it looked like it was opening apps and displaying data I had entered - almost like some sort of bot. Don't keep much on the phone of a personal nature and it is no longer a work phone since I retired this summer - mostly a toy of sorts so I just try the various ROMs out there.
Won't get to it tonight but i'll let you know when I re-install.

Sorry - didn't answer your other question. I did install Xposed installer. Only active module I used was Gravity and changed the battery icon and lockscreen background. I also have Greenify and Wanam Kit active but did not actually use either one to modify anything.

Really didn't mean to imply or suggest you did - I was more amazed on what I experienced and was hoping maybe someone else might have some explanation. I think I have installed every Note II ROM that has been out there since I got the phone 2 years ago so I'm not shy in regards to flashing new ones. I appreciate the effort all you developers put into this so again no blame intended.

Don't worry about it! I didn't mean to come off as so defensive, I was simply trying to stamp out anymore thoughts of there being a bot.

Reflashed ROM - No repeat
I did reinstall the ROM last night since I wanted to try to replicate the overall process I followed and I wanted it to sit overnight. I got thru this afternoon without the same problem occurring. I did not activate the Xposed framework so none of the modules were active either. Other than that I re-installed basically all the apps I had installed the initial flash. All went well although I did have the SMS "unable to send issue" happen (it seems to happen every so often after I reflash a new ROM - doesn't seem to be ROM specific) so I ended up following the usual process as outlined by DreamFX and restoring a different ROM. I have consistently found the Unofficial Aokp ROM by apophis9283 to be the most stable ROM for me - I'll try yours again when the next release is out there.

I'm on Carbon rom until I try yours this weekend. Of course it does this for me and is annoying as hell. It appears to have something to do with all kitkat aosp roms compabilty. My brother is lucky enough to have lollipop and it's not doing this on lollipop.

I'm really hoping this rom doesn't have that ok Google crackle that plagues most aosp roms for our device.

Been meaning to try the new HyperDrive, but just hate TW so much. Eclipse is giving me problems so I was going to go back to HyperDrive, but I'll give this a shot first. So sick of my phone lagging...... didn't do it on GPE, but I had problems with GPS on that..... As well as no Google Wallet......
Gig, before I download this. Can you install this on the stock slot?

id imagine yes no problem but I havent tried. no reason you shouldnt be able too tho.
Got it installed, but gmail will not open. Keeps saying unknown google play services error.
EDIT: guess whatever it ways woke up. Gmail finally synced. No options for any themes or anything?
It's snappy, I'll say that. I am having a wifi issue. It was working before, not sure if it was working before I installed Xposed (hadn't looked) but it's not working now. Won't turn on. I tried the NC5 ones again, which had been working. No dice it seems. Overall, getting like 200mb free more on boot compared to using a TW rom. I mean that's awesome, but I need to have WIFI =[
Edit: GMail refuses to sync, that was happening from the get-go, just hasn't started working. Just had a reboot while reading a text also.....

All 3 versions worked fine on SLot 1 and Stock for me.
I did have a few issues trying to get WiFi working but other than that it seems to be working well.
Only bug I've found so far, is the fact that the copy paste option, after you copy something and long press to paste, the word does not come up anywhere and you cannot paste anything.
Edit: been running darkmeat 2, and it will not remember wifi after a reboot. Have to manually reconnect everytime. I can honestly say, this thing is ridiculously fast!

How exactly did you get Wifi fixed? I've tried a few different gogolie fixes and so far nothing!
@liv3dn8as
It was more difficult than most ROMs for some reason. I think I ended up using wififix-VZW-NG6-w-modules-modem-w-hlos-SS.zip but had to flash it a few times and do a couple fast boots/soft reboots after I got booted up. I definitely had the problem where WiFi is not saved after each reboot as mentioned above. I had to go connect and enter the password each time I booted.
@LGtMgG2t
Just got it working with that as well! Thanks for the reply. Glad to know it was the same fix! Now I can get back to fixing my original error, com.android.phone stops working. Thankfully it only happens when it first boots. I did just notice though that my SMS aren't sending sometimes. Not sure why yet! Time for a logcat!

I also get that phone force close at boot too. Usually happens twice. I believe it may be an AOSP issue though. I know on the GPE rom it was doing it as well.

Correct. The phone FC issues happens twice only on boot up near as I can tell. Doesnt seem to cause a problem and also happens in the BlackBox ROM twice on boot.

I cant tell you how many different options I tried to stop the FCs then I finally came up with a working non FC and had built this ROM up with a working aroma installer for multiple themes and tweaks and a ton of options then someone stole my laptop and my 2tb external hd when my roommate had a party... sucked I had to start all over again about a week ago. and was apparently too intoxicated to replicate that FC fix thus far... that version had a lollipop all white custom themed aosp 444 took me forever. thieves suck.
im not sure as to the wifi settings not saving I also noticed that only allowing unknown sources to install only works for a single package install.... glad to hear most of you got the wifi issues figured out by installing one of the generic fixes I made for anyone on NC firmware it should work on install.
the gmail issue might be due to a newer version available. if its an issue for anyone just delete it via the safestrap filebrowser and reinstall via playstore.
i'll keep working on the ROM and this aroma installer with themes and what not i have a hard time deciding what to put into it I had like 20 different options for dialer and contacts, mms, systemui and framework was coming up with some interesting themes probably giong to just do that again. i had the option to either use TW or AOSP too
thanks for the feedback guys!

Of note, I hacked the unknown sources before the first thing I installed, have installed a couple more and it hasn't asked me yet. I flashed the ng6 and nk1 (whatever the new one is) modules just to see if it made a difference saving wifi and it didn't. Love the quickness of this thing so far!
Just a thought, but have you guys tried Instabridge? It works great for saving wifi passwords. Well auto connect also. I know having a completely working room would be nice, but it could help those wanting this as a daily driver. I've been playing with empty galaxy myself. dOPE was faster, just couldn't rock it as a daily. ....

Anyone else getting a boot loop with the PSOA-BB-DarkMeat-v3-gogolie ROM? I clean flashed on the stock slot. Guess I'll try v2 and see what happens and might need to download v3 again.
