[ROM][AOSP][2.3.7] OxygeN1mod FINALE! [2011.12.10]

"A minimalist, lightweight and super-stable AOSP ROM"
Oxygen is now fully supported for Nexus One. Download official ROM from http://download.oxygen.im/roms/
Due to family and work commitments, updates to my modded version will be few and far between, if any. Hope you enjoyed the ride as much as I did. And thanks for the thanks!

Hi all,
I wanted to try a super-stable and bloat-free ROM for my N1, but couldn't find any in this forum that suited all my requirements. I finally found one on the Desire forum, called Oxygen. But it didn't have any version for Nexus One.
So after some (initially futile) efforts on github, this is my personal port of Oxygen for Desire, a minimalist, lightweight and super-stable AOSP ROM by AdamG

About
Oxygen is an AOSP source built ROM (ie. not a mod of any sense based ROM), it's minimal, it's superfast and mostly bugfree.
The original Oxygen is not a mod/port of any other HTC/CyanogenMod or any other ROM and may not be to everyones liking, since it's minimalistic and basic. I'll only be porting changes made to the original Oxygen source code, but I'm open to ideas and suggestions for functional improvements to the N1 version.
(Requests for bloatware like custom lockscreens, live wallpaper, etc. will not be entertained)

FAQs, Issues & How To Report Problems
FAQs
Q: Is there Arabic support?
A: Follow instructions from http://blog.devasque.com/?page_id=11 (thanks to ultra99)
Q: I'm having issues with the Market place force closing. Is anyone else experiencing this?
A: Try changing language/locale to something else and then back to your own. Then try to open Market again.
Q: Does this ROM come with built-in Apps-to-SD-EXT?
A: No, you must use a 3rd party solution (search for Dark Tremor, D2Whatever, S2E, etc). Reflash it everytime you flash a new ROM update. If you wish to use dark tremor apps2sd, you can try my customized (ext4-only) version HERE
Q: The lag is really bad on this rom when I flash data2sd
A: Flash libsqlite.so tweak by iinga and convert sd-ext partition from EXT3 to EXT4. (thanks to Treatcon)
Q: My bootloader and radio versions are different. Could this be the cause of my flashing problems?
A: No. It's usually a simple issue of zip file corruption. Always compare checksums first when you face any flashing problems.
Q: Can you add XXXXXX feature?
A: Maybe, but not if I consider it bloatware, and only if it does not compromise overall stability.
Q: Can I use a custom kernel?
A: No, since most custom kernels are made for/from CM-kernel, which is incompatible with this ROM. The built-in kernel is already fully optimized. But for those who wish to test dynamic undervolting, there's an AVS version to flash separately. (Warning: will NOT be as stable as the built-in kernel)
Issues
Some users have experienced phone freezes when using Tasker. Details HERE (thanks to Royan)
If you're phone freezes/reboots while using the AVS kernel, that means it can't handle dynamic undervolting and/or the constant voltage scaling. Stick to the built-in non-AVS kernel.
One incident of user having problems with bluetooth, details here. I don't use bluetooth handsfree devices so have not been able to experience (nor fix) the problem, if any.
How To Report Problems
For those having problems with market, video, 3G, wifi, reboots, freezes, etc ... please do a full wipe (use my format zip HERE) and then reinstall WITHOUT any extra scripts/optimizations.
If problem still occurs after a full wipe and reinstallation, then please capture BOTH logcat and dmesg/last_kmsg AFTER the problem occurs, using the following method ...
1. Start terminal emulator session
2. > su
3. # dmesg > /sdcard/dmesg.txt
For reboot/freeze problem, replace Step 3 above with
3. # cat /proc/last_kmsg > /sdcard/last_kmsg.txt
4. # logcat > /sdcard/logcat.txt
5. Wait ~1 minute then exit terminal emulator
6. Paste contents of resultant txt files to pastebin.com
7. Post pastebin URLs here in this thread for diagnosis
In other words, help me to help you. Clairvoyancy and telepathy are a couple of skills that I don't possess ... yet ;P

This seems interesting. A couple AOSP roms nowadays. Won't be long when start asking for further modifications, additional features, etc.
I believe Sibere's Data2ext script will work?
Thanks for the efforts...always saw Oxygen to be so popular back in the desire forums.
I'm using Dark Tremor beta without problems so far, so Sibere's Data2EXT should be good to go.
Does Trackball-Alert work with a built-in option are do we have to install a 3re-parta app?
Is there Arabic support?
coool, great work.. keep it up!

LED notifications not built-in, yet. I'm looking at how to work it in without too much bloat. I haven't tried it, but hear that Trackball Alert is a possible option for now. Let us know how it turns out for you.

Good for you! But this patch actually replaces the existing framework, and will probably break other built-in framework features (such as DSP libs, notification power widgets, battery percentage, trackball wake, volume button music control, etc). Please try out the various features available in settings and let me know which are broken.
love it . thanks for porting it to N1 !!

All of these features you mentioned work no problem. However, Arabic letters are still disconnected in gmail and browser.
Might have to look further into this. Can't you take anything related to Arabic from CM7 as it has it correctly?

Comparing the features list of Oxygen for the Desire and your OxygeN1mod, could you please clarify if Apps2SD comes pre-installed on OxygeN1mod or does it need to be installed separately. If it is a separate install, would you entertain the idea of creating separate builds with and without Apps2SD for those who would like it to work "out of the box." Thanks in advance!

[Kernel][sense][Apr27]tbaldens kernel3.6[HOME2WAKE|HTCLogoMenu|CIFS|NTFS|NoOC/UV|OTG]

[kernel][sense][Apr-27-2013] tbalden's kernel v3.6 [CIFS] + [HOME2WAKE][HTClogoMenu][HTCLogo2Wake/Sleep][OTG]
NEWS: Teamed up with n3ocort3x, as TeaMSeven. Development of this kernel continues in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255160 . Check out second post for the STABLE edition (no OC/UV/gcc), and first post for PERFORMANCE edition (OC/UV/linaro)
- Compiled from HTCDev source
- Fixed audio routing issue with voice calls [phone's earpiece amplification fixed, htc left out a good chop from its released kernel sources]
- Adds support for more USB OTG devices than official HTC kernel - (pls test if you think your DSLR/ps3 controller etc and report - only works if your phone's charged above 30%!)
- Added CIFS (windows share filesystem mount support, use CIFS manager)
- Added NTFS (read/write) support
- All in one installer - script by @he_stheone64 (thanks !)
- Added init.d support (thanks @torxx !)
- Based on latest kernel source: 1.29.1540.3 Developer Edition
http://dl4.htc.com/RomCode/Source_and_Binaries/m7ul-jb-crc-3.4.10-42e6c45.zip
- Tested on 1.28.401.7 (please report your Build number if differs), international One (m7, from UK)
====================================================
VARIANTS:
HOME2Wake and HTCLogo2Sleep:
- What is HOME2Wake -> It's a bit similar to Sweep2Wake, but instead of swiping through the capacitive buttons, you have to push the Home button instead, to wake the device from sleep. Then press HTC logo to switch screen off. At times it takes 2 consecutive presses when the phone is in deepsleep. Still testing this stuff.
Video:
HOME2Wake and HTCLogoMenu
HOME -> wakes phone
HTC Logo -> Menu button mapping
HTCLogo long tap -> screen off
Known issues:
- None
- Aroma installer sometimes exits in the setup process, try again till success
KNOWN TO WORK ON:
- 1.28 International edition based ROMs, and 1.29 (1.29.1540.3) developer edition based ROMs, updates up to 1.29.401.5, 1.29.xxx.13
!Doesnt work on Sprint HTC One variant, as it's CDMA, not GSM!
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarms on your phone failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this Kernel

* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

3.6 All-In-One installer zip (flash from recovery) - kernel and modules and keylayout and working camera firmware, Aroma based (thx @torxx for aroma script):
tbaldens-sense-kernel-v3.5-full_installer.zip: http://d-h.st/uSB
Use CWM or another AROMA compatible recovery. You can select all stuff from Menus, no need for additional flashing. If you get stuck, or exits to Recovery menu, try again. Should work! (Aroma is sometimes a bit flaky, but it works, preferably press Next buttons in installer a bit slower, that way it's more stable)
Changelogs in second post
Older versions:

Camera Flashable fix for v3.0 + ROM versions 1.29.xxx.12 and 1.29.xxx.13 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1908030&d=1366810966[/b] - you NEED this flashed from recovery, if you're on a rom based on those versions, so camera will work
http://d-h.st/SIE - Base version 1.0 (not with HOME2Wake)
http://d-h.st/4ZM - HOME2Wake & HTCLogo2Sleep version 1.1, test version, might need two taps when it deepsleeps, Push HTC logo for screen off
http://d-h.st/JkK - HOME2Wake & HTCLogoMenu version 1.1 (if you want HTC Logo as Menu button)
modules installer 1.1 (flashable from recovery), only for 2.0 version and below, for Wifi and kernel modules + HTCLogoMenu button, not needed for 3.0+ http://d-h.st/7Iq
INSTALLATION
0. go into Recovery
0.1 DO A NANDROID backup if you didnt already -- if anything goes cheesy, restore your backup

2. reboot
CONFIGURATION OF HOME2WAKE/HTCLogo behavior
You can select the Variant you want in the Aroma installer, and also select a mod to Disable on-screen three-dot menu button (useful if you use HTCLogo2Menu configuration)

ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS KERNEL
This is a feature oriented kernel development thread, not performance oriented.
This kernel will stay free of Overclock/Underclock/Overvolt/Undervolt patches on purpose.
I'll keep that part in line with HTC's original kernel and intention so as to remain rock stable on the long run.
What HTC did I consider well tested and best for everyday operation, but adding usability features (like wake/button and such stuff I've introduced) I'm very much interested in. So that's the part where this kernel comes into picutre, very stable with additional usability features.

Changelog, history:
Version 3.6 - April-27-2013
- Added long press HTCLogo sleep for HTCLogo2sleep modes too (Home2Wake/HTCLogo2Sleep and HTCLogo2wake/Sleep modes)
- For HTCLogo2sleep modes added a Long tap and Short tap variant. Long tap variants will need a long tap on HTCLogo for sleep.
- For HTCLogo2Wake (when screen is off), the size of the Logo area to tap for wake is slightly increased for easier wake (not increased when screen is on, to not interfere with keyboard)
- Added a short time counter for HTCLogo2Wake too, to avoid accidental wakes: you will need to press the logo button slightly longer to wake the device.
(when device deepsleeps, you will need two slightly longer Logo button press to wake device!)
Version 3.5 - April-27-2013
- Added long press HTCLogo button for sleep (works only if you enabled a HTCLogo
function [logo2sleep or logo2menu])
- Added a short time counter for Home2Wake to avoid accidental wakes, you
will need to press the Home button slightly longer to wake the device.
(when device deepsleeps, you will need two slightly longer Home button press
to wake device!)
- Added possible msm_hsci_host wakelock fix from CAF for test purpose.
Tested, works fine, not sure if it gives or takes away, but
deepsleep works fine with it.
Version 3.4 - April-27-2013
- Moving to Aroma installer, thanks to @torxx
- Logo2Wake options added to possibilities (Logo2Wake+Logo2Sleep and Logo2Wake+Logo2Menu)
Version 3.3 - April-26-2013
- Haptic feedback for HTCLogo2Menu button feature added (thanks @codeworkx for the right solution) - will switch off if you switch off Haptic feedback in Power save mode
- Haptic feedback added for Home2Wake/HTCLogo2Sleep button functionality
- possibly resolves OTG device incompatibility issues for DSLR adn PS3Controller and alike, please test and report back[/B]

NOTES
SlimKat 4.4.2 Build 4
Build 4 is live! Please read the Changelog for more details including proper upgrade/installation methods, as well as notes on activating root.
Changes, Features & Fixes:
Changelog for Build 4
changelogs since stable SlimKat 3 release: 3.2 - 3.4 - 3.6 - 3.8 - 3.10
Framework: Fix LTE tile
Framework: SlimPie: turn on HA on highEndGfx devices
Framework: Add Landscape layout for ECA
Framework: Add support for QC's time_daemon
Framework: SystemUI: Remove broadcast from QH toggles
Settings: QuierHours service: call with qualified user and introduce controller
Settings: Fix possible illegal argument exception
Camera2: if camera HAL does not return valid picture formats do not show wrong values.
Device specific: several fixes and upstream. See attached changelog on the device download
Gapps: Complete rework of the gapps package. Update to Google Music, Google YouTube, Google PlayStore TRDS
Known Issues
i9100 Specific Known Issues (Build 4 as at 01/04/2014):
SDCard/Fuse Daemon issues (aka "Music Playback Bug"). On extended music play it can suddenly happen that the playback stops.
Camcorder - Zoom on 1080p mode is buggy see below for "workaround"
WiFi Direct doesn't work
General Known Issues (Build 4 as at 01/04/2014):
LTE tile: on clean flash if the first toggle of LTE tile does not work go into settings->more->mobile networks and set one time the network mode to 3g. After this the LTE toggle will work always as expected
National data roaming: If you tick the option in settings all entries get visually disabled although they still work. Do not worry about it and just re-enter the screen again and it is corrected. As long as SlimKat supports your provider this works as intended.
Notes:
If you are running on ART, and you're having issues with an app... check this list to see whether app is known to have issues with ART.
Zoom on 1080p mode "sometimes" works... if you set camcorder to 1080p, switch to camera, change res so zoom starts working again, and then switch back to camcorder... zoom will work on 1080p :silly: However, if you turn the screen off, or close and re-open the camera, the zoom will be broken again Also, once it stops working on camcorder, it'll probably stop working on camera as well until you change the resolution/picture size
4.4 mini-FAQ
Q) My recovery won't flash the 4.4 zip... aka "Status 7 error"... what do I do?
A) Get the i9100_SlimKat_4.4.2_compat_recovery zip attached below... flash it... reboot to recovery... be amazed by new TWRP recovery... then:
Wipe - Advanced - Select cache, dalvik, system (and Data if you want FULL wipe)
Install Slim ROM + Slim Gapps
Reboot
Profit!
Q) Root doesn't work!
A) From a clean build you need to enable root access for Superuser itself. This is different from some earlier versions of android (4.2 and below) in which Superuser by default had root access on a new install. To do this, go to Settings -> Developer options -> Root access. If an app attempts to request root access before Superuser itself has access, it may cause problems with that app in the future where root requests are silently denied.
Q) Developer Options? What Developer Options? I don't see that in Settings??!?
A) By default, this is conveniently hidden from view... as it does contain settings and options that can (and will) break stuff if you don't know what you're doing. If you require access to this, Settings -> About Phone... Then tap on the Build Number 7 times.
Q) How to change DPI?
A) Currently, this feature hasn't been ported... so you'll need to install Texdroider DPI from the playstore... or edit /system/build.prop and change ro.sf.lcd_density to the desired value
Q) I upgraded and lost my sim unlock, none of the unlock tools are working?
A) Unfortunately, I have nothing but Bad News™ for you Seems Samsung locked everything down and Google played along... Get a "proper" (aka carrier) unlock... or use older versions of Android... There is nothing we can do
Q) Music just randomly stops playing... and then won't work properly until reboot and/or drains battery?
A) Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot we can do. Due to new SDCard handling and issues with FUSE, there is a strange quirk with Exynos4 devices like i9100 and n7000 where the system freaks out and dies... users have had various levels of success trying some of the following workarounds: 1. format sdcards with ExFAT (apparently can cause issues with backups and/or GPS apps??)... 2. Put all your music on internal SD...
More details can be found in this OmniROM thread...

Hi, look nice, but menus in customisation don't work. When I click on Nav bar or status bar options button, nothing happened
Dsp manager is crashing on both opening the app itself and with every track change in music players.

Just installed this, all seem ok.
Keep up the good work.

I love the ROM but whenever I play music in Google Play Music I get "DSP manager has stopped", is it not included in the ROM?

Honestly, DSP has been causing issues on so many devices. With marshmallow Omnirom (creator of DSPManager) ditched support for it and as a result it has became very unstable. Regardless though, I will be replacing DSPManager with a modified very of AudioFX by CM that will be fully compatible with the ROM
