not sure what it does but at work we have a "guest" wifi that makes you agree to something.... wonder if that was causing it to act up...

You aren't the only One that app killed my battery faster than keeping the screen on pretty impressive how an app can manage to drain battery that fast and this is on my home Wi-Fi network. The app is trouble and if it's not draining battery for some people it's definitely not helping their battery either So best to keep it turned off imo.

Mine was doing the same thing even with the app off.. still running WILD with GPS .. climbing. Ended up killing it that way.. going and hitting FORCE STOP under apps, killed all background apps in Dev options.. Funny thing is.. first few weeks with this phone.. It never showed up.. Suddenly it's there and going nutz!!! (It's all fixed for now) lol :good:
This is what mine is doing.. CONSTANTLY. I can watch the GPS usage climb.. and i have location off.

Does this app work I keep hearing great things but I've tried and either it didn't work or I didn't get it. Any advice? Thanks

It really makes a huge difference. All I use us the mobile data option, and I get an average of about 75% increase.
Yes it does. I've done a couple battery calibrations and use j/d and also see a pretty decent improvement. Not to mention using bi-winning 3 with the baling 1.8.8 kernal!!!! Great combo.

If only there was something about battery life? A guide maybe with apps that could be downloaded.
Actually I have a detailed explanation on how Juice Defender works on post #3 and a copy of the free version.
Well this is what I get without turning off data or wifi just undervolting. No other special apps that's y I'm wondering.

There's really not much of a difference for me, but others say it works.

Just curious why do you need your battery life for more than 2 days??
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
Y not

I don't know why, but Juice Defender wrecks my battery life. It keeps it from entering deep sleep so I've stopped using it. My phone is probably one of the unlucky few though.
Ya so I tried this on my G1 and never worked then I tried it on my vibrant and wrecked my battery also I was just always wondering if I didn't have the right settings on or something so I just forgot about it and move.on

Going abroad for a few weeks, taking EVO LTE, any tips?

Visiting my family in Romania and taking my evo. I just need it for the wifi to check some emails, light web browsing, texting with google voice, and taking pictures/video. I find it more convenient than my older bulgy camera for pictures as I can just keep it in my pocket like I do everyday anyways. They use gsm not cdma, so I will be in airplane mode the whole time.
Anyone got any tips or neat apps I should get for the trip? Will GPS/geo-tagging work there? Thanks.
Use labs from Google maps and download the apps they work offline (airplane mode) and you will just use gps, I done it before and im doing next week since I'm going to cancun I download the map to make sure I don't get lost

Lol no, saw that on google reader heh, that's what got me thinking. But I can do the time conversion in my head without thinking, I won't be using data, and I don't need the third.
How do you use labs?
Does the GPS work when you're in airplane mode? I tested it on my dad's GSII a few weeks ago and it didn't for his phone.

I've used NDrive for navigation in Germany where I didn't (obviously) have a signal. The program is free and you buy the maps for fairly cheap.
But that was before there was Google Maps caching. I'll try that next time.

I hear this is semi-antiquated advice (I say semi because I'm not entirely sure that it doesn't help)
but have you tried to charge your battery all the way up and calibrate it?
Also...it seems that you have a voice mail. You should certainly check that, don't want to keep anyone hanging lol

No, so I will. BTW that voicemail is just a whole bunch of people talking in the background, must be an accident.

Here is a link to the app I use (although there are others ofc):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEsImNvbS5uZW1hLmJhdHRlcnljYWxpYnJhdGlvbiJd
Charge to 100% and while still plugged, open the app grant root and calibrate. Then you want to use your phone until its at around 5% battery and charge it all the way back up to 100% before using it and then you should be good. If not, then we can look into other alternatives ^^

Try to use other governors and schedulers, turn off mobile data when not in use, use the 'greenify' app. It hibernates apps. Use your phone after full charge until it almost dies

Why does this keep popping up?

Why does this keep popping up and how do I remove it. It pops up every few seconds even when I hit clear. I don't like seeing a battery symbol up there if my battery gets below 30%!
Thanks.

Do you have avg antivirus installed? I used too and after every perccent drop it would pop back up
Via LG OG running Rootbox 4.2.2
Looks like you have jb. Long press on the notification until you get the little menu.choose app info and you will see what is generating it. You can also disable the notification from there.
