[Q] LG G3 call log showing different numbers called w/Google Voice - Sprint LG G3

Hi all, got my G3 last week and quickly noticed that on ALL outgoing calls using Google Voice (I have it ask me every call whether to use Google Voice or my cell ph#), the dialed number shows up as something completely different than what I dialed in the stock dialer call log. Different area codes, altogether different ph#s. Didn't ever happen with my old GS3 or old school EVO, and searching around seems common on Samsung devices + some G2s but I can't seem to find a fix for this problem on this particular phone - or others reporting it on it for that matter.
FYI I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app, checked settings for anything... odd. Help pls?? Thanks in advance...

When you call someone with Google Voice, it uses your phone to call Google Voice servers who then dial the number you called. Get it? It calls Google, then Google calls your selected party(number).

Its been that way since they came out with Google Voice on every phone I've ever used in the last 4 years so I dunno what you mean it didn't do this before. It's been this way forever until they released integration with Hangouts a couple days ago.

[Q] How to Set Up Google Voice Voicemail on Note - Errors out

Has anyone gotten Google Voice working on their AT&T Note? It errors out when I try to switch to it via the app or through settings -> call -> Voicemail service.
Mine works just fine without setting it up at all. I get visual voicemail and everything.
Reinstall and run the setup by launching the app

I got the same error over and over, finally got it working by manually putting in my google voice number into the call forwarding settings, worked right away

Same issue here.
I'm having the same issue.

Actually i take that back, i tried again and it worked for some reason.
I had this problem in order for me to fix it i went to google voice from my computer, deleted my phone from the list in google voice and then set my phone up again from my computer. after that it all worked fine.
Similar problem - just Error with no more information and an OK/Cancel button
Re-install didn't work.
I ended up using the code from GV to "activate" the phone and that set all the forwarding numbers. It appears to be working, but doesn't say that Google Voice is the provider.
Still would be nice if MMS would work with AT&T/GV, especially since the messages just get dropped.
I had the same issue. Make sure it says ATT in carrier when you log into google voice (the website). If it doesn't, try to redetect it. Mine still showed Sprint for 48 hours before it detected I was actually on ATT.
Also entered the codes as mentioned on this site:
http://kalsey.com/2010/10/using_goog...cemail_on_att/
The important part to save you a click through:
"Second, open up your phone’s dialer and dial the following, replacing 1234567890 with your new Google Voice phone number…
*61*1234567890# (then hit send)
*62*1234567890# (then hit send)
*67*1234567890# (then hit send)
You should see a message appear on your phone after each time you press send. This will set up your AT&T account to take all calls when the phone is busy, when you decline a call, or when your phone is turned off or out of range and forward the call to your Google Voice number."
After doing the above I was able to change Carrier in settings to Google Voice without any problem.
Alternatively, you should be able to dial *004*xxx-xxx-xxxx# (where xxx-xxx-xxxx is your Google Voice phone number) and press call and it will automatically set everything up as well.

This is what I did and it worked perfectly.

Using either the single code or the individual codes, the forwarding numbers are all fine, but I still cannot change the provider to Google Voice. I don't know that that hurts anything.

caderoux, you should be fine. As long as the forwarding numbers are there it should automatically go straight to your G Voice inbox. You can always call yourself to double check...
Just had to go into Settings->Call->Call Forwarding and set the "Forward when unanswered" to my Google Voice number. For whatever reason, "When busy" and "when unreachable" were set properly, but the "when unanswered" wasn't being set by the setup process. However, voice worked fine once that was manually set.
I was also having problems manually setting it up, so i called the *004*xxx-xxx-xxxx# code with my google voice number and its working perfectly now.
Setting up through Gvoice did not work.
Dialing the code on my phone gives me a "call cannot be completed" message.
I had to go into Settings->Call->Call Forwarding and manually set all three forwarding numbers.
Edit: I just realized I was missing the # on the end of my gvoice number. The code worked when I put it in correctly.

[Q] Cant send/receive texts thru stock, only can with Google Voice

Hello everyone,
I am rooted and locked runinng MOF 2.3.5 ish v2.0.
Yesterday AM I started receiving an error (unable to send text) when trying to send texts through GO SMS. I also received the same error when using the stock messaging app. Then I discovered I was also not receiving texts. I can send and receive texts through Google Voice. I integrated my Google number with Sprint several months ago. I had made no changes to Google voice settings, or my text settings in several months. This just came out of the blue.
I tried restoring a backup from Titanium, that did not work. I tried de-linking Google voice from my phone and that did not work. I uninstalled GO SMS- still nothing. I have since re-linked Google voice to my Sprint # as it is the only way I have of receiving my messages.
Today I called Sprint. After a few tests with no luck, they instructed me to accept the OTA 2.3.5 update. They claim that one of the issues fixed in this OTA update was a fix of this "known issue with SMS". I told them I did not want to do that because it would perma lock my boot loader. They also suggested having them de-link Google Voice from my Sprint #. They said that if they de-linked Google Voice, I would not be able to re-link Google voice to my number later and that was a "known issue" with Google.
So, I have 3 options...
1) Keep it as is until upgrade time, but of course Google Voice does not have MMS support. And Google Voice leaves a lot to be desired with SMS threading and customization.
2) Take the OTA upgrade and "hope" it solves my texting issue, but of course that opens another can of worms with the bootloader.
3) Have them de-link Google Voice and hope that works. However, I enjoy having one number when I travel, etc. And if it doesn't work, according to them I wont be able to re-sync and then I will not have any access to my texts.
Has anyone else ran into this issue? I didnt see the exact issue in a Google search.
Thanks in advance
I also use Google voice to manage/backup my voicemails and texts remotely. I hate the google voice app. I only use it in it rare situations where I have no signal and no roaming available, but have wifi.
This has happened to me a couple times, I'll notice my gvoice has texts that my phone never received via SMS.
What is your preffered network set to? I've noticed my prefered network mode changes mysteriously on this phone. I'll just set it back normal and all my missed sms come flooding in.

Thanks for the reply. I normally set to automatic. I just checked and it was changed to any cmda. I will play with the options and see if that helps. Thanks again.
type in *#*#4636#*#* on the phone dialer

Hello, it was on CDMA Auto (prl). What do you generally set yours on for domestic use?
Your answer got me thinking. Saturday afternoon I removed a sim card from another country because I was here in the us and didn't need it. So when I got home I put the sim card back in and switched network to automatic and then all my texts arrived. Thanks again

Google Voice on T-Mobile HTC One

Anybody else using Google Voice on the HTC One? No matter what options I choose, when I call people my new T-Mobile number shows up instead of the Google Voice one. It ignores the "Use Google Voice to make all calls" option.. Any Ideas?

I don't know if it's related to your problem but every time I try and switch to Google voice I get the error
"Failed to retrieve and save current forwarding number settings. Do you want to switch to the new provider anyway?"
I hit yes and then I get the error
"Forwarding numbers change unsuccessful. Please contact your carrier if this problem persists."
Have you gone to the website, blown out your number there, then setup the phone again?

Yes. There is that error too.. To get around that you can manually set up the Voicemail number by using *004*[phone number]#. I believe you have to turn WI-Fi off for it to work.
I think you can also call T-Mobile and give them your voicemail number to set up.

Do you call out from the built-in dialer or from Google Voice. Mine shows when I call from Google Voice but not from the integrated dialer.

Just a note that when I dial without an area code it doesn't show my Google number, it'll show my TMo number. It's been like that with previous phones too though.

Wow.. I think that was the issue. My old phone must have been adding my area code. I guess I'll have to add area codes to some contacts or find the option to do it for me.
Thanks for your help.

I also did this, and it works insofar as missed calls ARE now forwarded to Google Voice. However, my phone still uses "My carrier" as the Voicemail service in Settings and, unfortunately, I don't get any notifications from Google Voice for new VMs.
Not sure if there's any relation, but I can't even set up my T-Mobile Visual Voicemail. It just times out, and tech support said "known error, try back in a few days".

I'm having the same issue in call settings. I cannot switch from "my carrier" to "google voice" without an error. Google voicemail works properly but I don't get a real notification. I have it setup now so ill just get a text message.
EDIT: got it! I just uninstalled and started all back over again.
This has been going on for awhile now... I have the same issue on my S3. The MMI code doesn't even work, it errors out. T-Mobile has manually set it and it still doesn't work. The only time that Google Voice picks up instead of my T-Mobile voicemail is if they call my Google number AND I don't send it to voicemail but let it ring out (otherwise it goes to T-Mobile voicemail). Frustrating as hell.
I was able to fix it by setting all the numbers in the Call Forwarding settings to my Google Voice number. It still says "My carrier" in the call settings, but missed calls forward to my GV voicemail and I get a notification.

Thank you for that, I never thought to try that. It worked great!
Have you tried going on GV, disabling past phones, and activating the new one? There is an option where you will enter a code (do it without wifi calling on) which is like **044*GOOGLEVOICENUMBER#
It will send a code to fix the forwarding. Did that and had no issues, it's under the settings option if you log on to GV..
ive been having the same trouble
Pre-paid T-Mobile customers can't use GV for voicemail because there is no call forwarding.
[QUOcancelTE=Benjimang;40823987]ive been having the same trouble[/QUOTE]
This is what worked for me. This informing following info was found in a Tmobile forum. The 1st step likely isn't necessary but was done during my stumbling to a solution.
1. **004*1(Google voice number) #
Again that part may not be necessary.
2. **61*1( Google voice number) #
This command forward calls if no reply
3. **62*1( Google voice number) #
This command forwards calls if not reachable
4. **67*1(Google voice number) #
This command forwards calls when busy.
Note: to check status of forwarding use the following commands .
*#61#
*#62#
*#67#
To cancel forwarding use the following commands .
##61#
##62#
##67#
The following command changes forwarding delay.
Also,it is untested by me so I'm not certain if the forwarding number should be changed to the Google voice number or left as is try at your own risk.
**61*18056377249**seconds#
(For example, 5, 10, 15, etc.)
I found on the T-mobile forums that the way to fix this is manually set the call forwarding settings to your google voice number. That has worked for me and so for no issues. Pretty sure dialing the ** numbers is what the Call forwarding menu does in the background.
Seems to me like google voice doesn't work with wifi calling.
It's weird, seems like when I'm on wifi and someone calls me, it goes into a loop.
It'll ring on my phone, caller will get call forwarded but it seems to forward back to my phone so it rings back again.
Has anyone gotten google voice working with wifi calling?

Straight Talk (AT&T sim) Voicemail

Alrighty then. I've spent two days on the phone with Straight talk trying to get my voicemail working. First issue was my call couldn't be completed as dialed. We fixed that after a day or so. The last half of the second day was spent on hold for 2 hours while she "worked on my account". I can finally call out to the voicemail system but its asking for my mailbox number. I've read that it was my telephone number but that's not working either. I've checked for ussd codes can't find anything conclusive, I've checked my phone's settings in About Phone -> Status and there's nothing there either. Any help is appreciated.
Any ideas folks?

I have not had any problems with voice mail ether. But I hate call in voice mail so I went to the appstore and tried many different visual voice mail apps. I like (Better YouMail) the most. I have lots of voice mail. I can not live with out visual voice mail.
I have the at&t sim card from straight talk and I have had no problems setting up the call forwarding to forward the voice mails to the better youmail system. However T-mobile does not allow straight talk users to change there call forwarding.
---------- Post added at 06:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:46 PM ----------
It sounds like you are having a caller ID problem. If the person calling you is being forwarded to voice mail and your number is not being attached to the call then the voice mail system does not know what mail box to send the caller to. If this is the case better you mail wont help you unless you buy a dedicated number from them. So that way they know that any time a call is forwarded to that dedicated number it should definitely be directed to your Better Youmail Mail box.
Straight talk needs to fix this problem for you. You should not be required to buy 3rd party voice mail just to have voice mail.
Turns out it was a sim card issue. She updated the info on her in and ota updated it. Asked me to reboot and bam voicemail started working fine.

[Q] Did Google Voice stop working for anybody?

I've been using Google Voice as my voicemail provider since my HTC Incredible. At that time, Google Voice was not "officially supported" but my phone let me set it up successfully anyway. I only occasionally used it for voice calls, mainly I wanted it to capture all my voicemails so I could access them via the web.
I got a Rezound and set up Google Voice there, again, not "officially supported" but it worked fine and captured my voicemails the way it should. Last year I switched to the Galaxy S3, then the DNA, and it has worked fine on all of them.
Two weeks ago, however, I went to Europe and roamed with my international data plan, and upon returning found my old voicemail was back. I had to dial *86 and punch my voicemail password in for the first time in years to get my voicemail. I figured I just needed to change the setting back to Google Voice and it would be fine.
Long story short, I can't get it to work anymore. Has anybody else experienced this? Any ideas on how to get Google Voice working again?
It's still working for me. You may need to setup the forwarding services again.

Deactivating it and reactivating it worked out...instructions were in the Settings menu of the web interface.
