[Q] SM-G850F vs SM-G850A; will SM-G850F work 100% on AT&T - Samsung Galaxy Alpha

Hello guys. Apparently the SM-G850A cannot be rooted (I want to install Xposed) so I am thinking of getting an unlocked SM-G850F. But I cannot confirm if SM-G850F will work with AT&T? And not sure if there are any other differences between the SM-G850F and the SM-G850A?

Won't get LTE on AT&T.

Dang! Thanks. Do you know if any of the other variants will work with AT&T LTE? The other variants can be rooted.

Only the A version, which cannot yet be rooted.

Obviously the 850 A will work on AT&T and it
looks like the 850 M might but triple check because I have heard that Exynos do not get LTE in USA / Canada.
Your other best possibility for ATT is the
Alpha SM G 850 W8 this is a Qualcomm Version used
by Canada Bell which.seems to have all the Bands
for AT&T and TMobile USA .
Don't know about rooting.

I found a SM-G850A Which was rooted for ssome reasons
Idk how to do it but all I know that it's possible?
With one way or another

[Q] Galaxy S II 3g Data Bands Clarification

Hey just want to be sure before i spend $700 on a phone.
I have Nexus One At&T model and am looking to buy the GS II. I live in Costa Rica here the 3g bands are on the 850mhz frequencies same as AT&T. If I buy the unlocked version i9100 it will work on the 3g correct? The specs on Samsung site say it will just want to be sure.
Thanks

I don't know about costa rica, but we get 3g speeds for att in usa. So if your carrier uses same 3g bands as att usa you should be good.

K cool yeah. My AT&T nexus one works great here with 3g so GSII should too.
Thanks!

Yep, your good.

can i9100 work on Tmobile's 3g & 4g today?

I know that it couldn't 5 months ago,but I don't know if it works today...
And if the international version doesn't work on Tmobile 3g and 4g, how about the Tmobile version of Galaxy S2(T989)?

Unfortunately it still doesn't work now and for the unforeseeable future it wont ever work.
Luckily the tmobile sgs2 does work on tmobiles network.
nope i got mine in europe and the antenna hardware acquires different frequency than the one in the US. Just google search "T-mobile frequency"
I thought there was a version from asia that had a aws band. And are any of you using the europe one on T-Mobile? If so how are slow is 2g?

ok!I give up buying the international version since I live in The US......
So,how about ATT version(i777)?does it work on Tmobile 3g and 4g?
It's just because ATT version is cheaper, and so is Tmobile's plan.

No..............

Anybody using this on AT&T?

I know the specs show that it has AT&T LTE bands, but had anybody actually used it on AT&T LTE yet? If so, please report your impressions.
Thanks.

I'm confused why so many people are worried about unlocking and band compatibility. Get the one from your own carrier !

Works exactly the same for me using an AT&T SIM in the T-Mobile HTC one. The other way around, I get less HSPA+ service using an AT&T SIM in a T-Mobile HTC One.

No. The AT&T one doesn't fully support T-Mobile while the T-Mobile one fully supports BOTH T-Mobile and AT&T.
For people who don't want CDMA-based service, the T-Mobile version is the best one to buy for compatibility.

Are you sure about that, Maybe the AT&T version needs to be unlocked for it to work on T-Mobile's HSPA+ Network. I hope like hell it does because I would like to have the 64gb version working on my Network of choice, T-Mobile of course.

This has been discussed to death on the boards.
All the phones have the same internal radio hardware but what's been flashed to each device is different.
i got a att version unlock, big mistake for tmobile. i flashed tmobile rom and radio. alot of places in new york i get 2G which it was constant 4G with my note 2. Place where i get 4G i only get 7mbps. while with my note 2 i was able to get up to 18mbps. Order the tmobile version will return this one. The only reason i bought this is because they had it locally in ATT store while tmobile htc one is on backorder and not avail in any store.
Unfortunately Samsung doesn't just make the same model for both I would imagine it would save them money also but att phones work slow on T-Mobile but other way around your golden

Difference Between Samsung Galaxy Mega i527 & i527m

Anyone know the difference between the canadian version of the galaxy mega i527m and the US AT&T version i527. Honestly I am new to android and wanted to buy one of these phones. Being a noob I assumed there was only one north american version. I am canadian so I ended up buying one from a ebay seller in canada, who's auction shows what looks to be a canadian device according to the photos of the box and model number, so I ended up buying it and am currently waiting for its arrival, but then soon after I bought it, I read on here about someone who bought one from the same ebay seller and received a brand new unlocked AT&T version. So if this ends up being the case for me as well, will the AT&T version work the same for me on my canadian carrier Telus? Will I be able to use the Telus LTE network for data? What other differences would their be?
Thanks in advance
The m version has the extra 1700mhz lte band in order to make it compatible with robelus' lte network. I don't think that you will get lte with the sgh-i527 version.
I almost did the same thing as you until I figured it out. So, I bought it locally in canada instead.

According to Samsungs website, the G850F/International one supports the 2600 LTE band (B7)
This is from the UK Samsung site, and in the UK we get the International SM-G850F model.
