TF700T Device root USB problem - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone, thank you for your attention.
As you already know I got TF700t (with docking keyboard) and everyone knows that this device is slow if it's not rooted. So the problem is that my usb cable broke and I first bought cheap chinese cable but when I connected it to the pc something happend. It was working fine just to unlock my device. But now when I try to connect it to the PC , the only thing that is happening is tf700t display turns ON. So I went to the shop and bought better cable but it's the same thing. And now I can't root my tablet. I tried with APK roots but they don't work on my tablet. So if you can help me somehow.
Thank you !

[Q] Transformer without USB with 8.6.6.9-20110804

Hello! I've a problem with my Asus Transformer (wifi version)
Today I tried to connect it to the PC with the USB cable and nothing happened: no charging, no usb detection on PC. Can you help me?
I think the cable is ok because I can charge the pad with the cable and the AC. I restored the tablet to factory defaults 3 weeks ago, after updating to 3.2. After that I sent the tablet to ASUS for warranty because a problem I had with the AC. They returned me the same tablet, cable and AC with a "Test ok" message, so I think they made no modification.
But today I've listened that a new firmware versions is landed, the 8.6.5.9. I looked at mine and I have a new one, 8.6.6.9!! I don't know if it was the update I made at first days of August.
The thing is that now I can't connect the pad to the PC. ¿Maybe is for the firmware version? ¿Someone with the same problem?
Thx
I'm not sure its firmware. Sounds to me like a bad usb connection. Can you verify all the pins are in place in your device?
Yes, I think the pin's are all ok, I can't see nothing bad there. It can be a problem with the firmware? Is it normal this 8.6.6.9-20110804? I read that people now have the 8.6.5.9-20110816

[Q] Usb 3.0 not recognizing Prime by Asus Sync

Hi all,
I am a total newb at android and anything here on the board. From what I can tell: nice work guys! Considering we are all newbs with the prime I also want to throw in my question and share with you my experience.
I am wondering if your TF 201 is recognised by USB 3.0? My Laptop Asus N73SV (Win7 64Bit) connects only by USB 2.0 through AsusSync.
Having received one of the first designated 64GB Primes and later my dearly anticipated European hillbilly keyboard I today think the inlay oft he tablet fell once or twice of the production-line. So I wonder if the usb3.0 issue might be related to that or is it more a general thing?
Since last Monday I am in contact with Asus Support and they advised me to send in the tablet because of the lousy WiFi/ Bluetooth and GPS reception. Having opened the flaps of the tablet to connect the dock yesterday I want to give the whole setup back! I could live with the strong fit of the two pieces (TF101 docked and undocked very smoothly but I exchanged because of a broken WiFi connection). There fell a tiny piece of plastic out of the right bottom hole and an even more tiny one dropped after shut-down vibrating today. I will insist on a replacement.
I still think the Prime suits me best out of all silent computer devices and I will just wait another month or so till I get a perfect one. Sad, though I doubt a little the approach of a single tasking OS on such a blazing tablet ??!!
Anyway, I wish you a rock-solid TF201s and hopefully soon a little bit of a more sophisticated OS than this one. Google got the market, now they should invest in their power costing OS. Why not buying into the MeeGo which Nokia abandonned. My son, an apple fanboy, was stunned by the silky sliding of the N9 screens. Or will MS put it’s WindowsPhone on the Eeepad? When will ubuntu work on tegra3 processor and touchscreen …….
USB 3.0
I have an ASUS N53SV and it connects fine to the USB3.0 port and the USB2.0 port without asus sync. I have an BC series TF201 64G and the PC runs WIndows 7 64 bit
Thanks, so does my N73. Have you actually tried to Asus Sync your N53SV via USB 3.0 with the Prime?
For me no luck. Could be the N73 though 'cause it also doesn't boot up when I have an external USB 3.O Harddrive connected to it. I usually forget after a week and while reboot I wonder why the dumb thing hangs

Tried it with asus sync and like you it doesn't connect when connected into the usb 3.0 but does work with the usb 2.0. I have a Thinkpad with USB 3.0 I will try it on that one to see if it is a ASUS pc issue.
Edit: The thinkpad doen't work with the asus sync at all not on the USB2.0 or the USB3.0, it connects fine as a drive, tried rebooting the pc,tablet and changing the cable to the TF101 but it doesn't work.
Thank you XXRAY, so why not try to figure this one out and let's go into details:
I assume your N53s setup is also: the hdmi1.x next to the usb3.0 next to another usb2.0.
2 questions:
- have you ever noticed a short interruption to your hdmi-device when you connect your external usb3.0-harddisk?
- Does your N53 boot up when the external usb3.0-harddisk is connected?
Well, if you are curious, you might try it, otherwise: No sweat man! Your News just comes in nicely with me 'cause I am going to send my N73 to ASUS anyway as long as it is still with guarantee. I am fed up with unplugging USB3.0 devices to start that N73 Beast (it handles litteraly anything I throw at it and the Prime together with SplashtopStreamer is the missing terminal I need).
Maybe just one last question: Do you know how to setup "Boot on Lan" on your N53?(I assume we have a similar bios ...).
I really appreciate your help and I hope you won't have hazzles with your TF201 as I do. I will try to get a replacement later on today.
Sent the notebook in and ASUS replaced the mainboard. Device boots now also if there is a USB3.0 harddisk plugged in. No further testing with the Prime though. It went for RMA as well and the outgoing of this is not clear yet. Case closed.

Prime USB 2 PC not connecting

Hey yall,
I got a quick question. My Prime for some reason will NOT connected to my PC as of this afternoon. Ive tried connecting to multiple PC's afterwords and none of them would detect the Prime at all and vice versca as my Prime would not pull up any notifications showing that it was connected. I have the Asus sync drivers installed and I know this becuase my Prime was plugged in to the PC and I was able to view all my internal memory files and was about to push a file to it when it just stopped communicating.. any suggestions would be helpful and I will give thanks.
Im already factory resetting and restoring from a nandroid..i will update and find out if it works once the restore is complete...
Yeah ...that didnt work. I even went as far as factory resetting and starting from scratch but it does not work anymore. Anybody care to jump in?
OK now my prime won't charge at all unless the screen is off. Does anyone know if this is a charger issue or prime itself???

Could be a charger issue. Do you have a dock? you can try hooking it into that first.
Inspect the charger cable, look at all the connections and see if any of them look broken or bent

Where is the USB located on the prime in the first place?

My bad...., i know it now, cause i dont have the 40pins - usb cable. Now i have to buy one myself. Sorry guys. Thanks.

P7500 (WiFi/3G) doesn't charge, instead goes into MTP mode when plugged in!

I don't know if anybody else has had this problem before, but I hope there is somebody out there who can help me with my problem.
Basically, until a few days ago, my Galaxy Tab 10.1 was working fine until I did a reinstall from a backup as I was having a problem with the device due to it running sluggishly slow and crashing every so often.
Now, for some weird reason, the device won't charge at all when the USB cable is plugged into the official USB AC Adaptor and instead all I get is the "MTP Initialization" message that somebody would usually get when connecting the Tab 10.1 to a PC or Laptop.
It seems to charge when hooked up to a laptop very slowly but that's about it.
If there's anybody out there who can help me fix this problem, it would be most appreciated at all (to be honest, I can't wait until I go back to university in September and I can sell this POS and buy a 64GB Transformer Pad Infinity instead!)
EDIT: I've tried another cable and now it's saying that it's MTP-Connected instead of not MTP-Connecting at all!
Bump as I have a feeling that this isn't a one-off problem and that it's affecting a lot of other Tab 10.1's as well...
Never had that issue.
Are you sure your cable is ok?
Having exactly the same problem, no idea how to fix it at all. Looks like it's faulty usb port, because sometimes my laptop 'recognize' the tablet, but it's very rare (don't really know what does it depend on). I'm afraid sending the tablet to service is the only solution .
Try a different charger, different cable and check the port for debris
Sent from my GT-P7500 using xda app-developers app
I've checked the port and there's no debris in it, I've checked the new cable that I've bought and it's already worn through from the look of things at the end with the plug that connects to the device itself.

Asus ZenPad Z380KL - problem with charging while using OTG

Hi guys, I have a problem with my Asus Z380KL tablet. Im want to use this tablet as a head unit in my car and I need to use OTG cable to make it work, also I need to have charging in the same time. I also want to use AutoMate app to control tablet, especially auto on/off while charging/not charging.
And now is the problem, I can easily achieve working external devices (usb dac, FM transmitter and pendrive) with charging in the same time, problem is when I cut off the power from charger tablet still thinks that is charging, of course it cant be cause there is no power source but still I can see charging icon and in settings showing that is still charging. It stop doing that when I unplug micro usb plug from tablet but obviously I cant do it all the time cause tablet will be build in dashboard.
Now, with normal charger, without OTG cable its working perfectly, when I cut off power it stops charging in the same time, also I tried couple OTG cables and on every single one is the same thing.
Any ideas guys how I can fix that? Im not sure if thats software of hardware problem.
Also device is not rooted and it has ASUS oem software with Android 6.0.1.
Thanks guys for your answers and your time! Cheers
Up
Really nobody knows what could be a problem?
