[Q] clockwork recovery in stock recovery

Is clockwork recovery the same with clockwork mod recovery (from ROM Manager) ?
I notice some users flash their roms in clockwork recovery after performing stock recovery. I'm really confuse.
Note: I plan to root my vibrant following method A Noob guide thread and flash clockwork mod recovery in ROM Manager.
In stock recover if u have the update.zip in ur sd card just hit reinstall update. The phone will reboot. Hit it again and it will switch to clockwork recovery then u can flash the rom from there

Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids. Root before installing cwm recovery...or you could do what he said then use the cwm to browse to the folder you have the root zip in then install it.... ROM manager will replace any "update.zip" named file on your main sd directory once you "download the latest cwm recovery" what I do if I don't have the files handy and I'm playing with my phone is just download root zip , make sure cwm update.zip is on sd..."reinstall packages" as he said, then install root zip from download directory. hopefully helped, I go bye bye now.
---------- Post added at 09:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:35 PM ----------
Err stock recovery = flashing back to stock with Odin or they could be referring to the stock recovery before having **** work mod (but most likely not the latter)
All ROM manager does is allow you to select the path to your flash target before booting into recovery, I'm more hands on so... I don't use ROM manager much. latez

Key Mapping for Recovery start
Can someone dont forget to implement Key mapping for starting the NEW recovery Mode.
Im proudly a happy user of this great phone but a recovery to start from off situation were pretty cool.
An app or a tool for erasing download count and others to be tweaked were also very helpfull.
Best regards

I guess you downloaded them from the official cwm site?
Soz for asking all theae questions but it's pretty interesting!
Not really no, but the size is different they're bigger I'm assuming because of some minor bug fixes.
Yes I've downloaded them from http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager

You ll need root access and the app superuser!
Get the .img file from first post.
Get an terminal emulator from market and open it.
We ll flash it via dd on terminal.
Move the .img to internal sd via file explorer.
In terminal first type su.
The command for flashing is in the first post. Begins with dd.
All right?

[Q] Serious help needed. Stuck in Recovery

Downloaded the new Clockworkmod Recovery from ROM Manager only to find that I could not back up to the external SD Card. So I tried reverting back to an older version (v5.8.4.0) and try backing up again to the SD card.
My phone booted into what appears to be a broken version of CWM where none of the volume and power buttons work correctly. Pressing the volume down only makes the screen scroll down. I can't select anything at all. I can boot into download mode but Odin doesn't recognise my phone. Should I download Samsung drivers and try to flash a stock ROM?
This is really stressing me out as I'm afraid I might have screwed my phone up! Any help is greatly welcome.
[SOLUTION]: Flashed a stock ROM and gave myself a stern talking to.
Just flash a stock ROM, sure

I noticed
Also Recovery version 6.0.2.7 refuses to mount external SD card. Any suggestions for an alternative to ROM manager? Or should I just uninstall it from my current ROM?

Have you flashed back to a stock Rom?
Yeah I have.
Then I suggest rooting with auto root and flashing philz recovery after and if it still won't see the card then you might need to format it.....and personally I always do that in the phone.
Hopefully a clean install, with fresh root and recovery will get it going again, fingers crossed

What do you use Rom manager for anyway?

Here is a .zip file containing a backup of the stock Huawei Fusion 2 ROM inside the .zip file is the stock recovery image. You can download the .zip file from here.

What you do is transfer the backup to your sdcard and then use CWMR to restore the stock backup. Restoring the stock backup should replace CWMR with the stock recovery image. For more information I would recommend taking a look at this guide here.

To help me understand what went wrong, do you have Clockworkmod Recovery installed on your device and are you still able to get into recovery mode? What step out of the procedure in thread you linked to failed (Did it fail on step 1, step 2, etc.)? If you can answer these questions I can help you out some more. Also if you need to flash your device back to the stock ROM check out this thread. Let me know if you still have questions I'll be happy to help.

I would recommend transferring this stock ROM to your device by booting into recovery mode, connecting your phone to your computer through USB and then using ADB (Which should be accessible in recovery mode) to push the zip to recovery mode which you can then flash. If you have any questions please feel free to continue asking as I'll be happy to answer them.

follow the below url for your device support
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2
You can find lots of custom ROM for your device over there,
For installation you need to copy .ZIP(cm-xx/any custom rom) file and Gapps by flasing it in CWM/TWRP any recovery you got.
For CM12.1 and its Gapps please follow below url
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-t3185406
Still having problems please let me know
Dont Forget to click the THANKS button :good:
Give me some time to check Gapps
Also please let me know why you are unable to flash Gapps,
---------- Post added at 11:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 PM ----------
Alright I found Gapps for you by following Cm12.1 from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-t3185406
So now try below URL and select NANO, download it and flash it. Still having Problems please let me know
http://opengapps.org/?download=true&arch=arm&api=5.1&variant=nano
@gamemaster123 any updates
Thanks for answering but i still have a problem.
I have "EMPTY" phone. I have NO operating system in phone, when it turns on it is just stuck on boot screen logo.
Can i somehow insert .zip files (cm12.1, gapps...) into phone and then install them from recovery?
Is there some way that i can install any operating system through computer without phone?
Thanks for replies. It would mean a lot if you help.
