[Q] Does the Mediapad X1 support T - Mobile LTE? - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

Hi guys. I currently own an Xperia Z Ultra C6806.
I am intrigued by the huge screen on the Mediapad X1. One deciding factor is whether or not it supports LTE ON T-Mobile.
Do any of you guys have any experience in this area? Anyone have any success connecting to T-Mobile LTE with this phone?

T-Mobile US 4G supported frequency(band): 700Mhz(12), 1700Mhz(4), 1900Mhz(2), 2100Mhz(4)
Huawei Mediapad 4G model:
-Model: 7D-501L: support TDD-LTE:B38/39/40/41
-Model: 7D-503L: support FDD-LTE: B1/3
So I don't think that it supports 4G LTE in US.
However, the above two models and the 3G model 7D-501u will support T-Mobile 3G (3.5G) at frequency 2100Mhz
This is from my research at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-Mobile_US#Radio_frequency_spectrum_chart

I live in Staten Island, NY and when I took my sim card out of my T-Mobile Note 3 and put it in my x1 (I have the 4g Chinese version), it was pretty quick. So for me it work on LTE.

Hey man I live in the Bronx and work in manhattan. Did it indicate that it was connected to LTE or did it just show the big H.
If its not too much trouble could you tru this out in an area where the note 3 indicates that LTE is present?
Thanks.

[Q] S2 HD LTE - which version for 4G in US/UK?

Hi, I'm looking at buying a Galaxy S2 HD LTE, but I'm not sure how to work out which version will work for 4G in which countries.
I'm going to be using this in the UK - so it must work perfectly for data in on 3G in the UK, and I'll be travelling to the US and I'd like to use 3G and 4G in the US.
I'd also like the phone to be future compatible with 4G in the UK.
Is this feasible?
How do I know how to match up the phone's specifications with the service specification from each country?
Thank you!

[Q] Huawei U8860 How to use 3G on T-mobile in the US

Hello All,
Has anyone had any luck getting a Huawei U8860 to work on T-Mobile in the US?
Here are the details on the phone:
It was a Chinese model that I upgraded to the worldwide Android 2.3 ROM from the huawei site.
I have voice and 2G Edge Data working, but I can't get 3G.
It is a quad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) device.
The phone says it supports 3GGPRS, HSPA and WCDMA. I also read a CNET review where they were unable to get 3G and were limited to 2G Edge.
Has anyone had any luck with this device in the US? T-Mobile or AT&T?
Thanks
3g connectivity
I am in South America, and I am experiencing the same problem. No 3G connection! Please help!!
So far I've tried two officicial ROMs (2.3 and 4.0) withou luck. In fact, I was hoping that the problem was fixed with the new official ROM released today, but I am still getting just EDGE connectivity.
Help!!
I think the problem is the radios on the phone. I did more reading, and it appears that it does not support the HSPA frequencies, so it cannot do 3G in the US. Apparently, the only penta-band phone that does 3G world wide is the Galaxy Nexus. Oh well, the phone is still usable, I just have to suffer through 2G speeds.

LTE is HPSA

I just got off the phone with Telus and they told me that LTE and HSPA are the same. So if I get the LTE version, unlock it, when i head to Europe in a few months the phone will work there too. (on other carriers)
Is this true?
Nope ,, its not the same
Thats what I thought, thx
HSPA+ should not be confused with LTE, which uses a new air interface based on OFDMA technology. HSPA+ is an evolution of HSPA that upgrades the existing 3G network and provides a cheap way for telecom operators to migrate towards 4G speeds without deploying a new radio interface.

let me know if u get 55+mbps on your "hpsa", or u prolly meant hspa.

Anyone Have the C6806 on AT&T?

Anyone out there rocking the XZU model: C6806 on AT&T? If you are, does yours shows that your getting LTE? I have the C6833, cause I thought this got LTE, but all I seem to get is H+
So, if your getting LTE, please let me know. Thank you for your time.
Yep, I'm on ATT with a C6806 and getting LTE. Had to switch to the ATT APN when I flashed CM, but yes, definitely getting LTE. And the 6833 doesn't get LTE for ATT, doesn't have the right band IIRC.
Yep LTE works great on the C6806. Was in LA the other day getting 30+mb down and 20+ up.

There are some locations in which the 6833 will get LTE but it's so not likely that it's not advertised as being compatible for AT&T. Even so, there were reports that some folks needed to have a recognized IMEI associated with their line of service to get LTE despite model and APN.

Hi Phaze1585,
When I had my Z Ultra LTE (C6806), I was getting LTE on AT&T. However, there are two things you need in order for this to work:
1. Band 17 support which the C6833 does not have. However, AT&T may support band 4 (which the C6833 does support) sometime in the future but don't know when. If you look on Wikipedia and search LTE bands, it says AT&T supports bands 4 and 17 but AT&T currently implements band 17 predominately. There are reports on this forum that the C6833 should work on T-Mobile's LTE since they are using band 4.
2. The SIM card needs to be activated or associated with an AT&T LTE phone. If it is an LTE phone but not "approved" (basically sold) by AT&T, you will only get HSPA+. Not related to Z Ultra but in lines with the point, I purchased my dad a Xperia ZL and activated a new SIM with AT&T (previous phone was a Moto Atrix 2, HSPA+ only). When I booted the phone, it only connected with HSPA+. When I inserted my SIM which at the time was associated with a Galaxy Note 2, I was able to get LTE on the Xperia ZL. Similar stories can be seen by searching on Google.
Hope this helps.

Does anyone own the Mediapad X1 4G? Would love some feedback on the device as well as

I've been going on YouTube to get some reviews but its mostly a quick hands on. Does anyone own the device and have any feedback on it? Any issues? I was thinking about getting the 4G version but I can't find anything on it!
I've noticed the phone has been updated to a new version of android recently... Can you get root with the update?
There's a 4G version of this as well, does that connect to the 4G bands of AT&T or does it just get HSPA+?
I've been trying to look for the Chinese forums for this device to get reviews or user feedback in general but I can't find anything!
Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the info. Do you like the phone? Any problems with it?
Does anyone have any experience with it in the US? It seems like I'm going to be the only one who owns it in the states! [emoji18]

The 503L works in Malaysia where the LTE bands are 1800MHz and 2600MHz FDD. Nigeria probably uses a band unsupported by the device.

There was one other guy I saw in the X1 related threads in this forum here, who said that the H+ bands on AT&T work fine.
This is truly a fantastic device and has all the right boxes ticked. You can even use it as a powerbank in an emergency.

Thanks for the info. I'm glad to hear you like the device, because all I read were wifi and connectivity issues. I'm going to go see what bands AT&T use. Thanks again!

Fantastic device. The best tablet i have ever had. Durable and compact. Software very smooth.
I'm in the US and am on AT&T. The LTE bands don't work in the US so you would probably want to get the 3G version (Unless you travel overseas and might want 4G)
If a huge screen and massive battery are your thing then get this phone. If not, your better served with the Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
Other than Screen Size and Battery, the Mediapad X1 falls short in alot of areas.
Pros
Screen (Why else would you get this phone?)
Battery (I get 3 days on a charge)
Don't need a tablet
Cons
Poor performance (Compared to the current snapdragon equipped phones)
Quirky Wifi Performance/Occasion dropouts (In the US)
Old OS (KitKat is out, but fairly buggy right now)
No custom recovery or roms (This would probably fix alot of the performance issues)
High memory usage (Even after rooting and removing all the Huawei stuff)
Just a little laggy in general (Annoying pause after unlocking the screen)
Build quality is a little lacking (buttons feel cheap and are easy to accidentally press or hold)

I suppose "Poor performance" is relative based on the Antutu score, since I'm happy with the device overall.
I did some exploring with ROM dumping tools, and I think I managed to successfully extract the /system partition. Still exploring though, hope to pick up some ROM modding skills.

Do you get at least HSPA on the device? I know its underpowered because the Ultra has a 2.2ghz vs this one has a 1.6. I was really waiting for the Ultra 2 that would have a flash but I need something now. I didn't think I would need flash that much but I use it all the time as a light.
Did you upgrade to the latest version? Did that improve the performance? How well does it connect to the network?
I don't know about the wifi, I have a Samsung Note now and I get wifi authentication errors all the time!

Yes HSPA+ works just fine at around 5mbs. That's certainly fast enough for cellular data.
I did upgrade to the leaked Kitkat build, it had some nice speed improvements however the DPI was set to 400 which was yuck, and the wifi performance was total crap. I had to go back to 4.2 unfortunately. It wasn't good enough for a daily driver, hopefully those issues get fixed for a proper update...
The wifi issues on 4.2 are not that troublesome, with the leaked 4.4 rom they were very bad.

According to some other posts I read, Huawei may not be able to legally state FDD support as they are not licensed for that spectrum in China. However there are reports that the modem supports all frequencies.
Can I know what is the model number of the 32gb version?

The 703L supports FDD 1800 and 2600MHz, and probably some other FDD bands as well, as it has been reported working in France, Germany, Malaysia and Singapore, which use FDD bands,
Many thanks your confirmation dear friend.
I'm guessing there is no Mediapad x1 that works on T-mobile AWS
