Second it specifically says d852.

Any plans on supporting the other models

Ya i built it for D855 when it was kitkat, but sound didn't work back then

Thanks! Great work. Can't wait to try D855 HYPE

What is the changelog from 0.8.0?

Great looking post!
Trying the new version in hopes this works on my D852!

Just picked up a Canadian D852 since I got an amazing deal on it...saw so many ROMs (D850) so I thought I was good...then realized 850 Roms don't work on 852 and my heart dropped.......
Thankfully found this thread, thanks so much. Really looking forward to updates, will send a donation for sure when I can

Bad idea. Wait for a Dev to get it and build or add the changes in what we already have.
If its not bypassed then I'm sure its a prep for the L update. We all know that often there is an update before the next big os jump. But idk. We shall see. Maybe its an update long overdue anyway. Lol
Sent from rotary technology Phone
with the LS990ZV5 update, Your G3 OS is still Android 4.4.2. The update should bring some minor fixes and security patch. Like the G3 D855 model have recently receive update with some security patch!
By the way, Some one already got the Android 5.0 Update on LG G3 F400S Model
http://www.mylgphones.com/android-5-0-lollipop-software-update-for-lg-g3-f400s19c.html
and that security patch may very well break root.
If you have TWRP don't take the OTA.
If you're not rooted, but think you want to root, don't take the OTA until we find out if it's been patched to prevent current root methods.
If you are rooted with stock recovery, don't take the OTA until we find out if it breaks root.
I'm hoping it fixes the horrible auto brightness and occasional unresponsive screen. Other than that couldn't be happier.

Not that I know of. Sprint's Community service people know literally nothing about this update as of this afternoon... ugh! I just want my compass to work. Then I would truly LOVE my phone... I wish Sprint had a clue.

At&t just got an update
Lameooo... I first found out about the Sprint LS990ZV5 update on November 6. It is now the 19... almost two weeks... Sprint Reps tell me they haven't heard of it... REALLY?
I have a possibly awesome phone without a working compass... that sucks! Of course, the update may NOT even have a compass fix. Who knows?!
Scratch ZV5, say hello to ZV6!
ZV5 isn't coming our way but ZV6 RDF is out and source has dropped.
I give it 24-48 hours before it is announced. Maybe sooner before someone finds the file and posts it.
Now, the million dollar question... does it break root?
Nice, glad to see you here garwynn, visited your threads allot when I had Note 2. I still have Note 2, but its just a wifi toy. Thanks for the stuff you do man............

Im downloading the source now and plan on finding out. Thanks for letting me know it was out! And thanks to @engine95 for pointing me to this post.
UPDATE: I won't have the time to mess with it too much tonight but it still uses Android source 4.4.2_r2 so no Lollipop yet.

Google lg g3 source code - first result should be lg's official site. then just look for lgls990
EDIT: Or you can just click here and find lgls990, lol.

possible developer for HAM2.

Hopefully he takes it up. He's a good Dev.
Can you guys find his G+ page? I can't find it. Unless I'm blind...
That would be incredible.
Getting a rom port, that's "the dream".
An official version update would only get us so far, but getting cyanogenmod, that's hyperspace.

oh, this is greeeat, he is a very good dev that fixed many problem in the buggy LG Nitro HD(p930) which is my previous phone.
@tdm, welcome! and hope you can spend some time on this great phone. Thanks!!
PS, from his g+, he is now a CM employee..man..this is exciting news...
Nice to see someone pick up development. For my needs, stock JB4.3 works perfectly, but you have to figure, apps will eventually require
higher than 4.3 to operate, which means those with the HAM2 will be left out.
lalala. I have just had a HAM2 sitting on my desk for a while and to busy to mess with it. LMAO
I have learnt compiling kernel from source code. Of course, there is a lot learning curve for me to bring up MT2L03.
Yeah, that's me, guilty on all counts...
Just got first boot into CM11. Nothing works yet and the screen won't turn back on after it goes off, but hey, it's progress!
That on its own is already immense progress! Thank you very much! :good:

Good to see some time enthusiasm here. Too good if a phone to be passed up by cm. Even if it were just an aosp 4.3. It would be an improvement. Also willing to add to the monetary pool for the other effort.

Pretty much that. I didn't find any useful tutorial, so i had to just try it out and experiment with different commands. There are some linking issues with headers, that i had to make some modifications. On top of that, the ram disk, and device tree stuff had to be extract from original bootimg, I found a tool in here

LOL! Same. I picked up another HAM2 just after Christmas because even without any new OS updates it does more than I need with aplumb!
The freebie bluetooth speaker that came with the holiday bundle is a great bonus (that tiny thing is loud and had some bass!)
Seeing development on this phone become active again is like a late present
Kudos developers and I'll join in as a volunteer if needed for testing. I have a spare MT2-L03 Standard unlocked phone for testing and backup.

[UPDATE] Android 6.0 MarshMallow for Lg G3 (in testing) TeamJB [D858,D855]

I know
We Team JB were the team of 6 now 5 , started this project to bring Android MarshMallow Custom ROM for LG G3 users. we tried our best!
we have given works to each other! we know there is a build.prop editing caused us shame! it was a black sheep in between us whose work is to compile our work make a ROM and test it on Virtual BOX than G3's.
But, hardworking never fails. We seek help from LG to help us in manufacturing the ROM, and good news is we 4 are hired by LG to help them building Official Firmware of Android MarshMallow, when Google officially released it.
We will BACK soon with a BANG!
#TEAMjb
Only words...let's see some results.....
Wow. Congratulations guys. I hope it will end up with a good LG Marshmallow ROM and stock Marshmallow ROM for G3.

Substratum!

Just so everyone knows I've been testing with @nicholaschum to get Substratum working on Sony! So far so good, we have a working version and he has gotten the rest of his team/themers involved! I will say as of now there are only a handful of themes on the play store that work! Big thanks to the substratum team for making this happen!
EDIT:
https://plus.google.com/+NicholasChumCDT/posts/1of4kXyAPL6
what themes work?
These so far, I haven't had a alot of time to go through and test a whole bunch having a newborn and all lol. However @nicholaschum has passed the new info down to the themers so we should definitely be seeing a lot in the near future
Also, the playstore version of substratum will be updated shortly so stay tuned!
Great i will wait for sub update! thank you

Attention Play device ROM Developers and Maintainers:

Please pay a bit more attention to the reason why most of us bought this phone: https://www.androidauthority.com/motorola-moto-z3-play-review-885207/
Must I stress this? I'm sure I am not the only one getting annoyed by the lack of Moto Mod support in most current Custom Roms.
(Pixel Experience and Lineage 15.1 implementing it the best when it comes to 8.1)
There is even an entire sub redit complaining about this...
I am no developer myself, but here it is laid out on how to make a ROM that supports most Moto Mods, this seemed a bit buried and hard to find, but seems extremely useful as if someone has already done the nitty gritty work:
There is a detailed Mod Porting tutorial at the bottom of this thread:
And I don't know if this is possible but it would also be great to have something like a flashable zip or base that supported Moto Mods for treble or/GSI ROMS in the future.
If anyone can get a Pie rom working with MODS soon enough, you'll beat Motorola to it. Think about that... you could work for them, because sadly it's something they haven't accomplished yet lol.
This should be in MOTO Z2 PLAY GUIDES, NEWS, & DISCUSSION.
Try looking, it has been explained before why we only have battery mod support. Besides, development is dead, there are no Devs now.

I looked and I found that it is possible to have more than the battery mod support, hence this post. The ROM I am on now, lineage 15.1 (Oreo 8.1 with November security patch)> works with my projector mode also.
Past custom Roms have also supported more than the battery mod.
I hope I don't have to explain the concept of looking to you, there are no Devs currently, development is not dead, they are waiting for/working on Pie. That you would know if you have been looking and reading the forums and posts by Devs.

For your information, one of the old Devs here said only battery mod for z2 play because the other mods caused too many problems on custom ROMs. Also, nobody is working on pie on xda for z2p. The Devs that where here all left, they are not waiting, they moved on.

Even tho I have proof of the projector mod working very stable on my phone on lineage 15.1 January security update???? And other mods in the link I supplied in the post??? Cool story...
The whole point of this post was to help devs like that accomplish it. I am guessing this is one reason why many give up...You have no idea how incorrect you are obviously, I have read 2 devs for these mod compatible ROMS state they were waiting for Pie. Because 8.1 is sufficiently accomplished now. Waiting= no current activity/posts/8.1 updates. I just technically had a dev here work on lineage 15.1 for me yesterday, compiling the new security update.
Want the link to this best ROM for the phone right now or can you LOOK for it by yourself? Thanks to me it's really not hard to find.

I was going to respond to your misunderstandings but, had to much of a giggle at your progressive edits to further attack me. Goodbye, no time for you.
Please explain this misunderstanding of mine:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2-play/development/rom-lineageos-15-1-t3731228/page42
And look where that got me. 2 stable mods, 8.1 64 bit, January security patch and even a microg version.
Again I will add another screenshot taken from the post about mod compatibility.
...
Fact: A Dev compiled a security update for lineage albus yesterday. Another made a microg variant a few weeks ago.
Fact: the link in this post is how stable mod support can be accomplished.

It's gonna be more likely to be seen in the right thread section (as now). Otherwise it looks like you believe that you are higher than the rules we all here try to respect (the convenient thing is to keep each section ordered).
Have a nice day. :good:

Now please have a look back at your posts, they look better, don`t they?
Further inflammatory posts containing disrespectful and useless remarks like "stupid, idiotic, butt-hurt" and so on will be removed and not only edited would also unleash some "respectful" pm`s straight to your inbox.
