[Q] How to Root a Model# NX505H Nubia z7 running 4.4.4 - ZTE Z7, Z7 Max, Z7 Mini

I've tried towelroot v3 and it doesn't work. Sometimes it says "No internet," sometimes is just crashes.
Build #: NX505H_CNTelecom_v1.07
Any ideas?

Follow this method: nubiaforums.com/showthread.php?tid=102

Problem Solved
It's in Chinese but pretty simple.
1) Download the software in the link below.
2) Connect your phone to your computer
3) Unzip the file and run the software (It'll be an ugly green screen with lots of funny letters)
4) Press '4' (this will boot into a Chinese version of CWM)
5) Flash Supersu (Navigation in the CWM will be obvious)
6) Reboot (the top options on CWM) and pat yourself on the back
7) Flash Recovery of your choice.
The actual rooting software can be found here:

Can the NX505J* roms be flashed onto the NX505H? I just received the phone with NX505H_CNunicom_v4.00

Here We have the Root And CWM for Nexus 10 On Android 4.2.2!

NOTE: Skip Steps 1, 2, 3 if you already have them.
Step 4 - Download SuperSU v1.04 (UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.04.zip) and copy it to your sdcard on your Nexus 10 tablet.
Step 5 - Make sure you have backup your data as it will be removed. Then switch OFF your Nexus 10.
Step 6 - Download recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.2.3-manta.img and copy/paste it in the android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory.
Step 7 - Now go into Fastboot Mode on Nexus 10. How? Press Volume Down + UP + Power key for a few seconds till you see some text on the screen.
Step 8 - Navigate to android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory and open Command Prompt (Shift + Right-click > Open Command Prompt).

Step 12 - Press the Power button again and select “choose zip from sdcard”.
Step 13 - Now using your volume keys, navigate to the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.04.zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.
Step 14 - After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu. Then Choose yes flash recovery back (this will make CWM your permanent recovery mode)
That’s it. Your Nexus 10 is now rooted on Android 4.2.2 JDQ39 software version of Jelly Bean and even has a custom CWM recovery installed. Check for the SuperSU app in your apps list to verify.

I think you have to unlock your device first. Then you can easily install your custom recovery
how do I install TWRP now?
never mind was trying to flash a .TAR file this wayyy... figured it out. need a .img
Use the nexus 10 toolkit
Side Load via adb,
then re run the everything script in toolkit.
Worked like a charm for me, however, I did have to reflash back to my first backup, to be on stock 4.2.1 with stock kernel

hope this one works :fingers-crossed:
I followed your method and got:
1.- Clockworkmod E:can't mount /sdcard/
2.- System stuck at Nexus X logo
What do I do now?
[update]
1.- Got factory image: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#mantaray
2.- Ran "flash-all.bat" from the tgz
3.- Flashed recovery-twrp-2.4.2.0-manta.img
4.- TWRP asked if I wanted to install SU, I said yes
5.- Happy days.
Sorry if this has already been asked and I'm not understanding it.
I bought my mom a Nexus10 and it's missing some Indian fonts on it. I saw I need to flash on a fontpack to add them.
The tablet is totally stock, on 4.2.2..
Do I need to unlock the bootloader first (which wipes all the data) and then do the steps from the 1st post?
This whole process is not working for me. I am in windows 8 and it just doesnt let me install sdk nor even ask me to install drivers. Can you suggest what is the possible way out? I am unable to move ahead due to these issues :/
Root failed.
I followed all instructions (I have successfully rooted a number of smartphones and the Nexus 7 before this). The end result is that the Nexus 10 is unlocked, but hangs on bootup with just the X showing. I can't go into Recovery mode (I just get the Android lying on his back with an exclamation point showing and eventually it tries a normal boot - as far as the X).
I can't try Restart Bootloader as this, too, leads to just the X and hangs. I have reset the tab (power + down volume) and also have tried to reconnect the tab to the PC, which now does not recognize it, putting fastboot.exe and adb.exe out of reach. I think something might have gone wrong installing CWM, though it did boot up a couple of times after that with a couple of errors that passed by too fast to copy - before it started to hang. I never got a chance to put superuser on it as Recovery mode is out of reach. I tried a master reset the last time I got to Recovery Mode, but got several minor errors and now seem not to have ANY bootloader working. Short of sending the tab back to Google to have them restore a 'cherry' Android 4.2.2 (for a sum), I'm lost as to where to go next.
Any ideas?

http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers - Click on O.S.
You'll find your stock system there. Instructions for loading it are included in the zip downloaded. I believe the EMEA Gen1 is for the generic worldwide version, but you might want to verify that. I know that the ORGFr one is for Orange France and the little "s" at the end would signify single SIM versions.
Found this guide to install recovery:
One. Loads Famaroot Just "Framaroot-1.9.1.apk" follow the link here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?s=e12cbb38af7dd8a173308bb ...
The. Apk to be installed on the Z3 - Z3s / Once installed, it's ordered by phone root app Famaroot.
Two. TWRP 2.4.4.0 files stored on your SD-Card llllllll2510 to post the link here.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0XQigIT17uEcDQtaDJ3U0UtOWc/edit?pli=1
PS. Files Name TWRP24Recovery_Z130_D10-02-14.img.
Do NOT paste it in a folder deep secret I do not find.
Three. Install app "[ROOT] Recovery Tools - Flasher" on the phone to me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mkrtchyan.recoverytools
Then, with a flash TWRP 2.4.4.0 [ROOT] Recovery Tools - Flasher by.
Select top (Flash Recovery) and select the top (Other from Storage).
Then browse to the file TWRP24Recovery_Z130_D10-02-14.img. Flash to order
At the end of the process [ROOT] Recovery Tools - Flasher will ask you to reboot into recovery-mode or not.
I answered yes to the reboot to check the flash recovery ... we just finished it.
NOTE ***: It may cause damage to the machine. Or insurance
You must accept the risks in the operation of your own.
I found this on a forum that was in a foreign language to me and used Google Translate to get this info. You can find the original thread here:
http://droidsans.com/node/153986
For returning to stock for warranty issues, just use the original firmware you downloaded from Acer.
Tried the first part flashing the ROM using the provided stock Roms.
That failed it downloads but as soon as first real install occurs it rejects and aborts install access or accept error.
And returns the key part of the file name
I think? No expert at all ? The stock ROM updates do not match the previous ROM on my z30. Do not exactly know the specs of my original ROM proximus.... ??? Would have preferred gen ROM overriding all that stuff?
Or do I need to force adb/ fastboot only to load the system partition.???? But what is the adb/ fastboot command then exactly do I need to expand the zip a second time? After extract zip and instruction PDF?
Will delay cwm tarp after first signs of life of the phone.
Thanks for your answer
sometimes I know.
often I do not know.
Its always good to be able to ask.

[Root SM-A320F /FL/Y] Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 - The most advanced 4.7 inch Samsung yet

This device is more reasonable to buy as it is small and elegant at a decent price.
It is IP68 water-friendly device and the display is much better - higher FPS than on higher resolution OLEDs - good for action games.

Unzip the file
Run Odin from the unzipped folder
Browse by clicking AP button the *.md5 file from the unzipped folder
Connect the A320F in download mode (start the device by holding Power+Home+Volume DOWN)
After starting the device in download mode, press Volume UP one to allow the download
A new COM port should be recognized by Odin after the device is connected via USB
Press Start button in in Odin
Rooting will take place automatically and the device will restart twice.
After the first restart you can disconnect the cable from the PC.
Second restart might take a few minutes.
After that you will find the SuperSU app installed.
Other, more complicated methods:
Rooting using custom recovery:
You will need:
SM-A320F with Exynos CPU (waiting for updates on other model)
Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 on your device
Odin v3.0.4 (download link below)
Team Win Recovery Project - TWRP (download link here) or ClockWork Mod Custom Recovery - CWM (download link below)
(Recommended custom recovery: Team Win Recovery Project :good: - more features, newer, works better)
SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815 (latest ZIP version available today - download link below)
SM-A320F TWRP & CWM recovery installation procedure:
On your device enable developer options and then disable OEM lock (FRP lock) for the device to allow you to flash custom recovery
(Activate OEM unlock from developer options menu)
Boot your device in Odin downlaod mode (hold VolDOWN + Home + Power)
Flash the *.tar file of TWRP or for the CWM using Odin's PDA option
(Uncheck Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time)
Force reboot your device (hold VolDOWN + Power for 10 seconds)
SM-A320F SuperSU ZIP installation procedure:
Copy SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip on a microSD card (trough USB data cable or any other method)
Unplug the USB data cable from the phone and shut down the device
Start your device in Recovery mode (Hold VolUP + Home + Power)
(RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCED - this warning is normal when booting into CWM custom recovery but not with TWRP)
The recovery menu will appear
> Using TWRP Recovery:
Swipe to allow modifications
Tap on Install
Tap on Select Storage at the bottom and select MicroSDCard then tap OK
Browse for the SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip and tap on it to install it
Swipe to install SuperSU (confirm Flash)
> Using CWM Recovery:
Select Install zip update package (use VolDOWN/VolUP to navigate and Power to select)
Select Choose zip from sdcard
Select SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip and press Power to install Super SU
The installation will perform automatically and the device will reboot twice.
First reboot will take longer. Please be patient. After the second reboot you will have SuperSU and root.
Downsides/bugs:
Knox will be tripped the second you flash a custom recovery (Warranty void: 1 - non reversibile)
(That means that you will lose the warranty for your device and that can not be changed)
(Perhaps that's why I personally can't invest more than $300 in a Samsung cellphone ever)
You won't be able to use Knox-related functions including Secure Folder ever again
Because of a SuperSU bug you won't be able to use Smart View (Miracast, project the screen to smart TV) unless you make an edit as follows:
Lewdog45 said:
Use a file browser such as Root Browser and go to the root of your device then locate the "System" folder and find build.prop and edit it with any application that can edit it and find the bottom line, right at the edge of the bottom line you need to press enter twice and then paste this:
wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable
And then save it and reboot your device.

Format the SD card on your PC using FAT32 option (use an USB adapter).
Copy the zip on the card, Insert it into the phone and reboot into recovery to test.

Yes. You can flash twrp in cwm and reboot to recovery. Twrp will be there instead.
wich version to choose?
Sorry. There's no twrp for a320 yet, but in general it's working fine to flash new recovery with existing one.
Hey guys, I will receive my a3 2017 soon and I was wondering if it would be preferable to root it now than waiting for the update to Nougat and re-root it then... Any idea when the update will be available for this phone? I was also wondering if I should use a specific brand or type of micro sd card with this phone?
Thanks

Help me root Cubot Rainbow

Hi everyone
I have been trying to root my cubot rainbow with no success, I have trier every way possible on which I will list.
King root - apk and PC version
Kingo root - apk and PC version
Iroot - apk and PC version
Towel root - didn't Evan let me open this app
Root genius - apk and PC version
Then I tried custom recovery, I got the tools of needrom and I got to it I did everything right I -
Unlocked my boot loader (I think) as once I accepted to unlock it there was no way to check if it actually was unlocked because everytime I did "fastboot OEM device-info" it returned something like "Failed(no controller)" < something like this anyway so with me not really knowing if IRA unlocked or not I went onto the next step.
With the scatter file and recovery.IMG to hand I opened up sp flash tools and then tried to flash the recovery. It then told me everything went okay and it was done. But when I boot to recovery it's still at stock.
I then tryed flashing with fastboot and same thing happens it tells me its all okay but its actually still stock
This leads to is my bootloader acc unlocked then? (I did try multiple times and uninstalled and reinstalled drivers)
So anyway is there any way to root my phone?
Instruction here http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=741031&st=1000#entry54800941
but on russian
Thank you for your reply I have had a look and from what I can understand it looks positive, but.... I can't find the instructions or translate them properly for the actually rooting
Here google translate of first post, bold below it is what you need:
1. Fully comply with the instructions for the firmware of custom recovery
2. Download and put in the root of the SD card archive SuperSU
3. Turn off the smartphone, hold down the + volume and power buttons simultaneously, select "Recovery Mode"
4. Select "Installation" and select the previously downloaded archive.
5. Reboot the phone.
After enabling, Root-rights and SuperSU will appear.

Tried everything else for past 3 days, Cannot get Root access.

Tried everything for past 3 days, I cannot get Root access.
1) Bootloader unlocked
2) Activated Developer options
3) downloaded Su
4) Flashify or such other options don't work.
5) Also installed Minimum ADB & Fastboot, renamed recovery file, (and I believe also installed the TWRP).
Still can't get to the option of Install Recovery, Take Backup of Stock ROM or Data.
Tried Vol up + Power button, but there is no option to install (despite having SU in a memory card). The only options I get ( on a touch sensitive screen) are to test the phone on some criteria (technical terms I can''t remember) along with an option for Chinese. The options on the screen were Fastboot, download, recovery (and 1 more I can't remember currently)..
I suppose I have to choose Fastboot, and then install TWRP (I renamed the img file as recovery.img before installing it through a cmmand prompt (run as administrator).

i know it may frustrating, maybe next time just post a link to your thread.
as @narshi shukla mentioned, you have to initial boot in recovery from fastboot (btw there is no need to flash, just booting is required at this time)
have you downloaded the right twrp image, check the size of your file? you can alternative download from the mentioned support thread
did you read the note?
"Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot."
this means your stock recovery will maybe flashed back over twrp right after reboot. you have to repeat the steps each time, until you have successful entered into twrp recovery.
once in twrp recovery, you have to select the SuperSU.zip from external sd card. press the "install" button and select file. if file is not visible, go back and press the "mount" button, make sure external sd card is mounted. you can use a USB-OTG-Adapter and mount a USB-Stick as well.
go back to install and select the zip file, swipe to confirm flash. if flashing fails, goto "Advanced" and select "copy log to SD". you can upload the recovery.log file here for further analysis

Use Magisk for Rooting. It is the best. Make sure you have installed TWRP. You can use KingoRoot or KingRoot app, if your Android version is 2.2 , 2.3 , 4.0, 4.3, 4.4, 5.0
