[Q] TWRP for verizon G3 - Verizon LG G3

Good afternoon
I am on verizon and I just flashed back to KK from LP I am on 12B. I just Rooted with the LG one click root. I also downloaded Flashify.
I want to get TWRP for the G3, Where do I go to Get TWRP for verizon? There is the TWRP Manager app I downloaded but Uninstalled because it wanted fix a partition so it can write to the SD card. I said no then uninstalled it.
Should I redownload the App and let it fix or do something different? It has been awhile since I rooted and ROM'd want to get back into it.
the last time I rooted and Rom'd was in 2009 when I had my thunderbolt
thanks again for the information
Chris

You are fine with letting it do the fix. Be sure to get the vs985 version of twrp

If you don't trust the app, you can do it yourself using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790

thanks for the Information, did it last night and everything is good. Made a Nadroid backup.. Now the hard part is trying to figure out what ROM to flash to
Was looking at skydragon or Resurrection.. Choices Choices Choices
thanks again

Latest TWRP is here (v2.8.6.1). Just flash the file in recovery.
Try both ROMs and a couple others, too! I suggest starting with a stock-based ROM, getting a feel for the difference (smaller delta), then moving to an AOSP/CM-based ROM.

Did you flash the gapps with the rom.? I'm guessing that is a lollipop rom so you need the lollipop gapps to go with. There should be a link for the gapps in the same thread as you got the rom.

Make sure that you wiped properly (including System and Data partitions, as well as the caches) in TWRP.
After that, make sure that you installed the Gapps and the correct version of them for the ROM. I like these packages.

Thank you all for the info, I wiped and flashed the rom with the right gapps.

Install or update TWRP with Goomanager if you're on an old recovery. Just click install openrecoveryscript, that easy.
Stock TW KitKat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2721118
There are lots of improvements in JB and KK, as well as a couple fixable "issues" (e.g. sd card).
You can sell it to me and then I will give you my phone, that would be the best thing for the world.
Definitely gonna keep my MDK bootloader. The funny thing that's making me want to change is the App to SD card feature in the updates.
I'll make the switch from CWM to TWRP and give stock TW KK a shot. Are there any GS5 ROMs for us? I feel so out of it lol.
I've been flashing since the OG Droid and had close to 10 rooted phones but after getting my GS4 and having everything working perfect(including the mods, I.e. WiFi Ap), I just left it

I'd use Flashify from the Play Store to update to a new recovery. Using Goo or ROM Manager can lead to possibly having to Odin back to stock and start fresh... Couldn't tell you exactly why but it's happened to a few of us including me.
Also... Go for a ROM like C ROM, Mahdi, or Liquid Smooth... Ditch TW

I too have MDK so.... :highfive:! I am running Hyperdrive RLS 15 and it runs flawless. Loads of extra features if you like that sort of stuff. I used the Ktoonz Kernel with it so it comes with the KTweaker App for complete control over the kernel. Loads of battery life. Its 4.3 but if you want 4.4 then wait about a week or so and Sbreen94 will have it released (atleast that is his current time frame).

[Q] LG G2 VS980 26A Bootloop installing Cyanogenmod Nightly

I have an Lg G2 VS980 running ota 26A and I am trying to install the cyanogenmod 11 nightly. The only problem Is it keep bootlooping. I wipe the phone correctly and everything then install the zip. CWM (I have the latest version of Clockworkmod Touch) says the install was successful. I have tried everything to get this rom installed. I have done multiple wipes I have downloaded the latest nighties I've even tried installing a custom kernel alongside the rom, all the same result the phone would flash the LG logo on the screen turn off vibrate and repeat. Believe me when I say this I have tried everything to think of but still I won't boot to Cyanogenmod. I have rooted correctly using stumproot(It does work on the G2) and flashed CWM touch with flashify. I've followed the steps to flash perfectly still bootloop.
I need help with this I am tired of LG optimus ui and lg software and I really want to have Cyanogenmod on this phone. What Do I need to do to successfully flash this rom and use cm because at this point I have nothing.
So If anyone can help that would be GREATLY appreciated Ive lost count of times ive been bootlooped, and I really want cyanogenmod installed. If not CM then something like PA

I see. Was trying to find a common element, but there goes that theory.
There appears to be a number of people having the same problem with VS98024a and VS98026a. No solution yet so far. At least I haven't found one yet.
To clarify you are running CWM not TWRP?
P.S.:
I might have found our problem. Maybe?
The CM 11 M7 snapshot is based on Android 4.4.2.
I have not seen M7 version for vs980...... Let me know if you find one.

I have the solution..... What the problem is is the newer bootstacks don't have an exploit... The Loki is killed.... So what you are going to want to do is downgrade your bootstack...12b is one that will run some of the older ROMs but 24a is what most are using to build off of.... if you need more direction then this let me know

Thinking of getting G3

Once I get it rooted and got recovery installed I should be able to use AOSP roms right? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you have to revert out to 10b via kdz method, root and install twrp, then you can install an aosp Rom
That being said, the 2/1 build of cm12 is one of the most stable right now from my experience. Smooth as butter. You can pm me if you need any advice

Perfect. I'm very excited to have a device that can run AOSP roms once again. I might try a few of the other roms along with CM12 to see which one I like.
I'm also assuming this method will let me use custom kernels too right?

[ROM][STOCK][30A - 5.0.2] Stock rooted Lollipop Rom for Int. G Pad by skin1980

Hi guys, this is the latest Lollipop ROM rolled out by LG for the international G Pad 8.3.
It's the corean update but works just fine with mine and i hope also with your.
INFO:
1- You can flash it with the TWRP like every Rom out here, i used the bumped TWRP in the original devs thread;
2- The kernel is stock, i only set selinux to permissive because in my works for the G3 i've seen that it's the only way to avoid permission issues;
3- it's bumped so doesn't need nothing special, just flash it in TWRP like i said above;
4- You can dirty flash over the stock 4.4.2 ROM, i made it and had no issues at all.
5- If you are asking why you should flash this instead of the kdz, the answer is that with the "kdz way" you will upload your Bootloader too and you will lost the possibility to flash the twrp and any custom kernel since the new BL patch the exploit used by Bump.
DOWNLOAD
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934553953

The rom is unrooted, to root it just flash this in recovery:

Thanks very much once again ?
Flashed this and everything seems ok so far. Supersu didnt work for me in the first flash with ROM, but when i got back into recovery the second flash worked. Root seems to be pretty strong thus far. I am going to run this for the next few days and see how stock Lollipop is working. Thanks again for this!
Ran for a couple minutes and noticed vibration doesn't work. Do I need to enable something? Pretty solid so far!
Edit: You have to reboot for vibration
Looking great for me so far ,no issues, though I have a lot of setting up to do still ?
Hello,
Very good rom
bye bye kit kat and external sd storage problems
Thank you very much for this rom
Fantastic! Thanks for the work and sharing.
Just flashed it dirty and seems to work flawless.
Major improvements over 4.4 are the "recents apps" button and being able to switch user without having to use hard power button.
Thank you for sharing this!
Can anybody answer me what's with battery, is it worse than on KitKat? And is gamma fixed?
Thank you one again! Cheers!
Sweet! Downloading right now, thank you!!

I did. Full wipe worked fine.
Only issue I've noticed so far is the lockscreen weather doesn't seem to work.
I set it up as you would with the g3 but no luck.
Anyone managed to get it working?
For reference, I started with a completely wiped /formated tablet.
Hey dev, when you say 'dirt flash' you mean I have to wipe nothing? Just like if it is an OTA? Do I lose something?
rom is running very smooth so far without any problems, living in germany. much faster as KK relase.
thank you dev!
Skin yoy are awsome!
Glad to see you here to.. Lg g3 owner mate congrats and keep doing your thing.... Thanks once again you great developer!!!!

G900T unlocked using on AT&T.. Which version of ROM to use?

so I got this galaxy s5 (free) to replace the S4 I had.. I'm on AT&T and the S5 is a T-Mobile device.. I unlocked and am currently using on AT&T without any issues.. I tried Cyanogenmod 12 on it.. had way too many Bluetooth music issues.. so I switched back to a rooted t-mobile stock.. which is terrible.. bluetooth music works great but everything is is painfully slow.. so I want to find a good fast custom rom (that also has proper bluetooth music support).. With so many device versions and so many custom roms I'm just a bit perplexed.. I found some that are debloated stock roms which seem like that would be good. but I'm just a bit confused on what parts I need to have as "t-mobile g900t" and which parts I don't have to have that way? so yeah this is a bit of a newbie question (even though I have run 4 or 5 custom roms in the past (original galaxy s and my s4 both had custom roms). .but those were always at&t devices on at&t network.. so was an easier choice..
at any rate.. looking for some tips on how to best find the right rom.. Would love to do this today/tomorrow.. avoid messing with the phone during the work week..
Thanks in advance!!
Gary
Try the latest stock ROM for the phone. Many of us were having issues with lag with prior 5.1.1 ROMS. The latest ROM has fixed all these issues. Very snappy.
i feel like i remember seeing bluetooth/audio fixes & updates in the CM13 nightly changelogs, you also didnt specify which CM 12 you installed... the last 12.1 snapshot from october or the last nightly from december?
You can run whatever rom you want. If it works with KLTE it works on your phone. Check the S5 unified development. Cyanogen has always been crap on this phone, probably always will be. Try an AOSP based one like Tesla or TipsyOS (probably won't find them on this site, they post all of their roms on their Google+ page)
Unfortunately the only Marshmallow available for this phone so far is CM-13 based so it's also crap and full of bugs...
To be honest, no ROM you find will be perfect. The most stable thing I've found is to just use a rooted stock ROM and debloat the hell out of it then run Google Now launcher or Nova and forget that you have a Samsung device for a while, until the next OTA comes out and you have to do the process over again.

Sort of forgot about this thread. first Thanks for the replies.. So I have been using CM13 since I posted this.. and this has great for speed.. but BlueTooth continues to suck.. no matter what bluetooth device I use with this Rom it skips and stutters. I've finally had enough.. it's been quite a long time with this issue so time for me to switch.. I will try one of the rooted stock roms and debloat it with one of those tools.. thanks again everyone!

If you have the mm bootloader and modem installed just wipe and flash. But I believe cm 13 could be ran on the lp bootloader. I odined the stock tar first that way you know all the partitions are proper. Than Odin Twrp 3 0.0 . Make sure you back up your data from internal storage because when you Odin factory package it wipes phone storage. I learned this the hard way lost a bunch of pictures lol anyway I found this to be the best way. Hoping this helps....

thanks for sticking with me on the all the newbie questions.. bootloader version reported as G900TUV1FOG6.. later in the list it shows Latest Firmware: G900TUVUGPE1/G900TTMBGPE1/G900TUVU1GPE1.. so at first I was thinking I was ok.. but that second entry had me wondering.. (dang.. just noticed this was never submitted (from 6/28).. oh well)..
ok.. So I assumed I'm good to go.. installed the latest TWRP (3.0.2).. wiped the data area and tried to flash Phoenix.. It starts installing Aroma.. and within a couple of seconds the phone reboots back into TWRP.. did this a few times.. rebooting into the OS gets me a new Cyanagenomod not Phoenix.. figure I must be missing a step somewhere (or have something that is preventing Phoenix from installing).. thoughts?
thanks again!!

I think you still don't have the correct bootloader . The firmware is mm because your using CM13. The easiest way to get it done for sure is to odin the official MM firmware. Than install Twrp 3.0.0 flash superuser to have root . Reboot in recovery and flash phoenix rom v12.0 than the 12.6 update. This may take extra time this way but all the partitions will be correct. Or odin bootloader in BL slot and modem in cp slot . Don't set for auto reboot pull battery back into download mode Odin Twrp pull battery. Reboot into recovery than flash superuser. Than flash phoenix. Good luck

OK.. you may be right.. I downgraded TWRP to 3.0.0 and the install started working fine.. but now the reboot into Phoenix has been going for about 35 mins.. I know it can take some time but that seems extreme.. will wait a bit longer and if it doesn't work I'll try the steps you listed above..
thanks again

I think you still don't have the correct bootloader . The firmware is mm because your using CM13. The easiest way to get it done for sure is to odin the official MM firmware.

Gary look in this general section for the post that instructs you how to install factory mm. Follow the guide. Google to see how to install factory tar files using Lunix . I'm guessing my instructional writing skills leave something to be desired lol . Once you have the factory mm up and running install Twrp flash superuser reboot. Than reboot into recovery flash phoenix rom. Good good
