[Request] Oppo Color OS for Nexus 6 please. - Nexus 6 Android Development

I've found developers port it to 1+1 and it is an awesome rom. So I do wish Nexus 6 developers might also make a Color OS rom for Nexus 6.

this is a development forum that you posted in. nothing but actual android development gets posted here. you obviously are not developing anything. normally, you would post something like this in the q&a threads. so, ill ask a mod to move it there.

You have already posted this question and a fellow moderator moved your thread into the Q&A forum.
This is an international site, not everyone is online the same time as you. So wait for an answer.
If you don't receive any answers then this means that noone is interested for your request.
Thank you for your understanding.

ICS CyanogenMod 9 Galaxy S II

This thread regards CyanogenMod 9 for SGS2 only!!!
This is a request that I know many other SGS2 owners want also:
1) Can one of the devs working on CyanogenMod 9 please give us a progress report on how thing are going, this is not a request for ETA.
2) Im just hoping that this thread will be a development conversation regarding CyanogenMod 9.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366341
Try this!
And this should be in the General thread

Don't be so lazy, find out from what they post. Check GitHub. If you don't understand development, you shouldn't be posting in a development thread.
Thanks for th help but that thread is closed after only 2 posts...

can you explain to me how the f*ck this xda website works-threads, types of threades & etc
a) This tread does not belong in development section.
b) There is already a thread in the general section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366341
I'm sorry if you didnt read my earlier post but that thread is closed after 2 posts!
why doesnt it belong in dev section its a que for devs!?
That thread is not meant for discussion. It's a sticky to provide status updates for ICS/CM9. Also, the original ICS discussion thread was closed partly because of you, who kept driving the developers up the wall with your questions. It will be updated as and when there are updates, by moderators and the opening poster.
Also, I personally do not see a need for a CM9 discussion thread. Updates from the developers do not bring CM9/ICS any faster, and in fact takes precious time away from the developers for real development.
Also, from codeworx's blog:
@XDA Users:
If you’re not going to stop spamming and trolling, we’ll leave xda forever.
This means you’ll never get this ICS Port or CM9! Don’t whine, it’s fully YOUR OWN FAULT!
You’ve crossed a dangerous borderline!
We thought about releasing a build after Microphone is working, but today i’ve read the ICS Info Thread on XDA and got shocked.
Because of the IDIOTS who made this thread a disaster, we’ll not release anything on xda before it’s fully finished.

It, along with the other ICS threads, was closed beacuse of trolling and flaming by members (If I remember correctly, you were accused of trolling in one of them!)
MODS: Another thread that should be closed until ICS/CM devs are ready to open their own thread.

Original Development Sub-Forum

Hey all,
As some of you have probably noticed by now, we have a new Development section for original works. As explained in the portal article Introducing the Original Development Forums, these forums were found to be very useful in other sections and there has been a lot of requests to add them for more devices.
Please refer to the article for general guidelines on what is and isn't appropriate to post there, and if you have any questions feel free to ask in this thread or to PM any of the moderators about it.
Those using Tapatalk or the XDA app will probably need to refresh the forums list in order to see it. You can do this by going to the base forum view that list all of the different devices and refreshing or by unsubscribing and then resubscribing to this section.
Thank you for addressing our request
Who would I need to bring a list of those original development threads that still remain in the Android Development forum that need to transfer here?
-Neo
EDIT:
The following fall under the guidelines of First for the device/official/or heavily modified original kernel work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911297
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074906
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1659210
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2071043
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2079282
It may take some time to sort through everything, but the best way to let us know is to PM one of us.
edit: Unless I'm missing something the MIUI and AOKP threads aren't even GPL compliant?

Busted!
Added to my signature thanks.
he didnt know where to put it. give him a break
I have moved a large amount of threads over to the Original Dev section. This mainly consisted of cm10/cm9/aokp/kernel threads that were source built. Please PM me or any other mod if you think your thread should be moved as well.
gotta say. you mods rock. thank you for everything you do.
I almost had a heart attack because I couldn't find my CyanogenMod mega threads!
Thought I was going to be banned or something.

Ok, this explains a lot. I thought I was going nuts for a sec.
i wish we had a poll asking if we wanted this, iv always been agianst separating dev section, for the same thing, this just alienated and confuses the users.
I tend to agree with siul.
Do you know how much extra work is to have three main folders to check under each device? General / Development (read ROMS that are cool but came from another device) / and Original Development (ROMS that are still based on others work but have been tweaked/setup somewhat uniquely.)
Honest to God, those were my reactions. So I know where siul is coming from...how is MIUI in a different thread than AOKP? If you add a few apps that look different and don't ship with AOKP, is that suddenly original?
Again, not trying to start drama but just my two cents.
EDIT: Just read the whole justification for this. I get it, but still think it's another layer of stuff to sort through.
Bad idea change thing back to the old ways Please
This is bad Mostly for the user who are new i seen the other forum that are like this, not a good i idea doing this plus the developer hate going to one forum to the other just to set thing straight

Because all are built from source by the person posting them and not a rom modified from someone else's. It falls under the original development guidelines that are posted in the op of this thread.

I don't see how this works then, because none of my roms are based on someone else's work. and if what you say was true, then all aosp roms compiled from chad's git should be placed on the general dev section instead of the "original dev section" since everyone's aosp rom is based on his work(compiling it docent make it your work). And please understand im just trying to make a point here, no trying to be an ass or anything. i just hate the idea of roms being divided by 2 different dev sections. its just prone to confusion.

That's what I think. All of the AOSP ROMs built from Chad's git are not original unless chad himself released a ROM.

I don't take your response to that effect in any way and no intent to malice received.
"The following are most likely not “Original Development”, and should be posted in the “Android Development” subforum:
Your own “unofficial” stock build of your favourite original, source-built (or otherwise) ROM, particularly where an official or maintainer-endorsed thread exists already."

This plainly states that the self compiled roms belong on the Android Development forum so I side with you in that aspect. However, there is no official or maintainer version of CyanogenMod roms or AOKP thread available so unless Chad uploads his build in this forum as he rightfully could, these builds (from what I understand) can and should be posted here.

cyanogenmod 10 on desire x

Does anyone has some information about cyanogenmod on desire x? I am used to this rom from my older phone and personaly, I love it but i couldnt find anything on CM site, doesnt anyone know more than me?
First we need some skilled owner of this device (as I read thorough some threads its very difficult to build it) maybe after jelly bean update the credit of this device will rise and builders will come

How are you posting in Dev forum when you clearly havent even gathered the "10" thanks and clearly dont know the forum rules.
Anyways, for your question:
CM10 wont be much difficult once the device tree works. it works for recoveries, so some sorting out of vendor files and device make files should be enough to get it booting, but it requires dedicated time which is very difficult for me with my job and home tasks. If some other dev joins forces, i'm willing to help him as much as i can.

Ubuntu Touch?

Real simple: do we have a port Ubuntu Touch? I thought I saw one for the International variant, but I've get to see anything for the i605.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I think I've seen an alpha build somewhere.
Honestly there are a bunch of devices with Ubuntu touch projects and they all are rather early on in development so while I think it would be fun to play with, the reality is it probably won't be a daily driver for a long long time.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
At this stage in development there really isn't much reason to bother. Once it becomes more fleshed out there absolutely will be ports made, it is a relatively simple process thanks to the way canonical set everything up.

Hey guys my name is Jupiter (Kushal) I am new to the XDA developer forums and.I don't know wether this is the right part of forum to post an introduction. Please excuse however I always been interested in Android and I've wanted to obtain a Nexus Six P,but I'm afraid I won't get the vanilla version of Android!

Nexus devices come with the purest version of Android installed. It's pure "vanilla Android" as you called it. If you buy a Nexus 6P new it will have Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow installed. If you buy a 6P used make sure the device has a clean ESN and is not blacklisted by any carrier that you want to use the device with. Also, if you buy it used, no matter what software is installed you can fastboot flash the Google factory images and return it to a fully stock state like the way Google designed it. Don't be scared about not having pure Android on a Nexus. That's the reason you buy a Nexus. If your really interested in a 6P, head on over to the Nexus 6P forums here on XDA and browse through each section. You will find some excellent information about the device in the General Forum as well as the Q&A and development forums. There are some excellent developers working on the 6P and they have built some really great ROM's and kernels for this device. Good luck and it's nice to have you in the XDA forums.
