SuperCID?? - Sprint HTC One (M9)

I'm not seeing anything specifically for the Spring M9 saying it's possible or not possible to change the cid on our variant of the m9. Does anyone have info if it's possible yet for us?

you can change it, but theres no benefit to it on a cdma phone

So we are not able to flash international Roms correct?

You can if you want , but like schmeggy said there is no benefit for cdma. OTA's are slowly making there way out. I'd just wait till sprint receives the 1.40 update (if that's the next one) then look into flashing different ROM's that match up with the firmware.

Only if the ROM states it supports Sprint.

Was just wondering if this is because the hardware is incompatible or because it would just no longer work on Sprint? I had my M9 unlocked and I was planning on useing it on T-Mobile and figured another firmware might work better.

Do not flash firmware from another variant, (Verizon, T-Mobile). You will brick your phone. Also The Sprint M9 cannot be used on T-Mobile, Verizon or AT&T.

[Q] Flashing NON T-Mobile ROMs on T-Mobile HTC One

Can I flash a NON T-Mobile based HTC One ROM on my T-Mobile One? I was thinking about flashing one of the ROMs in the international HTC One forums, like Android Revolution HD. That or one of the international stock ROMs, to get rid of the bloatware. Would this brick my device?
yes any international or at&t rom. sprint wont work
Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response! Do you know why you do so without bricking the device? I remember seeing a LOT of warnings on other android phones to never flash a ROM or radio that isn't from your carrier.

just radios but roms dont include them. just know that most sense based roms use aroma and it hasnt been optimized for our device so it may freeze in the middle of flashing. you will need to hard reboot and try again. just so you know i own the tmo variant ant i have flashed every rom on the international thread.:highfive:happy flashing
all htc one variant are the same except sprint. most sense based roms on international thread include wifi calling for tmo users also

From what I've read, the ROM flash does not affect the radios, so yes, it should work. You will need to setup the data connection in the settings menu.

I think this is a nandroid:

EDIT: Sorry, I see that you meant recovery, not the nandroid backup.
Yeah. I have been searching for the stock recovery for this device. Haven't been able to find it.

i dont know if we can just flash the dev edition??? and then flash the tmobile ratio??
I have a t-mobile variant that I changed to the developer edition thru s-off but for some reason, I feel like my data speeds are slower. We are talking about 2-7mbps from 10-20mbps.... So I don't know if I need to flash something else to it.. Like the t-mobile radio.. But how would I do that?

Unless you specifically did that via RUU, the radios did not change. The ROMs don't contain the radio.

Yes, I changed the RUU to the one provided on the htc website. I also changed my Cid from its stock to Cid 11111111 hypothetically speaking, if I wanted to go back to complete stock, is that possible? If not, what is my alternative to enjoying the developer edition

Ouch, that may have flashed the radio. There are a couple of threads about flashing the TMO radio (attempting to get AWS on international ROMS). You could flash the radio from those, but I don't have a high confidence that those radio files contain everything needed to get AWS back onto a TMO phone that has been RUU.
Here is one of them, take a look:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247171
EDIT: Eventually TMO will release an update for 4.2.2, that will definitely take you back to stock.
Oh ok thanks a lot. Dan I didn't know it would do that .. I hope I didn't screw my phone up... But hopefully the RUU that htc will release in the future will be beneficiary to me.. Because I still have 3g, hspa+ and in sure I will get low

Yeah, be sure and read the requirements for flashing when it comes out. I think you have to go back to stock recovery, for one thing. Good luck!

By unlocking you mean from the carrier? If you update, you should receive the update from the carrier you are on.

After relocking you will (Bootloader). I am putting one of my One's on E-Bay, all the work is already done, S-Off, Dev edition RUU, 32 gig ATT version with the media thing. PM me if you are interested, it is going on tonight for shipping to US only. Very good condition, original box.

Yeah no updates till now, they rolled 4.4.3 but pulled it due to battery drain problems with OTA, but if u flash the 4.4.3 RUU you won't have any problems, or just wait till they roll 4.4.4

I'm sure you've heard from even friends you know to Google things.
Anything that's mentioned in any thread on XDA just put into your search bar or Google now "OK Google" and you will begin to learn all about that bad ass device you hold in your hand.I also recommend either the XDA app or Tapatalk app for easier navigation of the forums you may view.
Unless on att as a carrier you wont get any updates from them, best bet is to soff change cid and flash us developer ruu 3.28.1540.5

I believe what he's saying is that if you have an unlocked (international) version of the M8 you wont get updates from AT&T just because that's the carrier you're using. You'll get the international models updates.
So I bought the device from some guy from Canada
it's unlocked at&t device (I'm not at&t carrier)
This is why you wont get updates from att, your not on their network, doesnt matter if phone is att based, the updates come from the carrier your using. Unlocked/US Developer devices are different they are supported directly ftom htc not a specific carrier. If your cid is CWS__001, You have an ATT branded phone, unlocked or not you wouldnt get any updates from ATT.

Can I change it not to be at&t? If I can I'll be happy for some

Look in the at&t development section and you will find a guide for either "Dev edition" or "GPE" conversion .good luck with
S-OFF

Does the Sprint version have the same hardware compared to the Developer/Unlocked Edition? All the tutorials I've seen are about converting the AT&T Edition since they share same hardware (eg. GSM)

That is the one million dolars question. I been searching and i have found only tutorials to convert the GSM version, and the problem is that the Sprint version uses CDMA. Im not sure if after install the unlocked/developer rom the 3g and 4g will work fine.

I have the exact same issue from the original post, I'm following you @Lussardi, but I don't have big skills in this envorionment. I have S-off and struggling a little with CID 11111111 because of drivers (says waiting phone) but I'll solve it, anyway, you don't have to perform a wipe of anything to install RUU (is that a clean firmware install?)? I have the TWRP, is there a way to flash Developers RUU with that recovery? Or the only way to do it is like you mention with fastboot codes?
Thanks
Edited: Finally fixed drivers problem, now my actual CID is 11111111

Okay, I changed the SKU ID to 21 "HTC_LA_ESN_TELCEL = 21", should I change the radio type too? Actually is at "WORLDPHONE_LTE_BOUND_CDMA = 8", I'm guessing TELCEL should be "GSM_GSM = 6".
Edit: I just turned on mobile data and it no longer shows that ugly GSM icon, now is H+, 3G or 4G
