It's another view but I also think LG trying to fix old mistakes with Software Update part, It would be good if we could get Android M also

Generally firstly korean versions get update than int. versions get the updates. It looks like fake but I hope we get the update.
Btw if this update really exist the version number shouldn't be v40 should be v3X(except v30, exmple v35a for 5.1.1 update. if we get android m update it should be v40X)

It's normal that the baseband is the same as 5.0.2?

Mmm i don't think that LG would update an old phone like G2

Yes it's an old phone but we shouldn't miss the point that it's still a very powerful phone and has a good hardware.

In screenshots.it looks like they would gonna update our G2 to 5.1.1 with Full LG g4 UI as well as our 5.0.2 with g3 UI.i am sure LG would gonna provide us both LP and android M updates besides our chipset is enough powerful to handle android M easily.

Also AndroidAuthority released an article 2 hours ago: http://www.androidauthority.com/report-lg-g2-lollipop-5-1-1-622537/

I'll believe it when I see it. My Canadian g2 is still stuck on 4.4.2. I have to pick between good battery life and camera, or up to date, nice looking software on my nexus 4.

What makes you say that? First of all the update to 5.1.1 isnt a drastic overhaul and is needed to fix bugs that are currently present in 5.0. An android M update would require more work than the 5.1.1 update.
The only reasons we probably won't get android m are:
1. Too much work to update to M because of drastic changes
2. They could have decided to just leave the LG g2 with lollipop, which is fair given the 2 year period since release. Most phones don't get updates after a 2 year period. Except for nexus.

They should rather skip Android Lollipop 5.1.x and go straight to Android M IMHO.
Doing a 5.1.x release for the LG G2 is a waste of time when Android M is already around the corner.
At the time they will release a 5.1.x update, it is probably going to be outdated already because Android M will already be available...
So, LG, if you are reading this, please update the LG G2 directly to Android M instead. That woud be much better.
Regards

It looks as if if our Canadian variant is abandoned permanently on 4.4.2 with no plans to update it, so I doubt any of them will get m

Hope they will release 5.1 with full G4 ui

I dont think that the canadian variant is only the fault of LG. The telecom providers don't even know when their own devices are getting updated and cant provide valid information so we should blame both or none.
Btw if this is true then it will be the v40 update. I didn't knew any other LG device yet which got updated higher then v30(2 android version upgrades) ofcourse excluding nexus series.

Judging from a leaked screenshot, that LG G2 Lollipop update shouldn't be far behind the G3 one, at least for the Korean models, which are obviously going to get the update first.

Pretty accurate.
You shouldn't count on that post at all. They're just making assumptions. As long as lg hasn't officially announced how long it will take before our G2 gets it (if it gets it) then nobody will know for sure.
Well this is only assumptions. If you see they have tagged may be or maybe not. Lg will never use this projection.
So until lg announces officially nothing can be said.
I think they sud consider flagship little longer support

Yep other sources say the same.
Problem with porting is some of the drivers for the differing parts such as the camera. Unless source code is released it would be hard?
I'll have a n6 by then. Lg's slow ass can pound sand.
Come on guys it's LG...They are not committed to updating their phones like some of the other manufactures. I believe Sony, Moto, and HTC vowed to upgrade their phones to Lollipop. This should tell you which companies really "care"...Even ol Sammy announced Lollipop, shame.
Transmitted via Geass
I read an article it said LG G3 would get the update by the end of this year and I figured that's probably fake . Coz I dont think LG would be active to update as they always didn't.
this one seems more real but I'm neither worried nor looking forward to it. we've got some fantastic devs supporting us for developing the aosp based roms which i like the most!
the closest the g2 will get to android L is aosp based roms or a cloudy port from the g3. lg isn't good with ota updates at all.
I have five year experiance with LG, my opinion;
G3>february,march
G2>june,july
Lol toooooooooooo late, i'll sell this phone and get some with stock android, maybe motorola.
No more delayed updates.
The G3 ports we have are fantastic. Even stock 4.4.2 is decent.
Waiting a little extra should not be a problem as long as our G2 works like it does now
Remember, LG only bumped us from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 meaning 1 update total. We will 100% get official L.

Yes but what then when we get L? I doubt we and many other devices will see that big of a difference. I mean, to this day there are some G2 users who still prefer JB over KK. And did you check leaked long video of Sammy S5 running early L build? It lagged and UI stayed 95% the same. Nothing big to expect really so why make such a big deal of it I dont understand

Marshmallow for A5 and A3? (2015)

Hi guys, I've found out that A5 (2015) will receive MM quickly (http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/mobile-devices/smartphones/galaxy-a/SM-A500FZKUBTU -> see updated manual), and what do you think about A3 (2015)? What the chances are for this phone? I'm actually A3 user, I didnt think I'll have MM here, but know.... I'm not so sure Let me know what you think about it!
[EDIT]
Lol, there's updated manual for A3 either!
http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/mobile-devices/smartphones/galaxy-a/SM-A300FZWUBTU
Woah... I sure hope so. It could make getting a CM13 ROM much easier. The existence of the manual for the A3 sure points to it.
Great news, finaly will get marsmallow on A5 and A3 2015 soon

well, I'm not 100% sure though, but what was the other point of updating manuals to MM version?

Well Galaxy J5 (2015) is receiving MM update now and has almost identical spec. to A3 (2015) so I hope so
Sorry when im say this, but why the hell all want this official update which is bloated,in my opinion ugly, because its touchwiz and outdated because of near android n update, confusing,we have 6.0.1 roms and except FM radio its perfect and much better as the stocktrash, more customizle and better to handle?I know yet comes the answer from crying users about: my warranty is gone when im flash etc,but not in german or in the most europe, its not break ur warranty, just look my thread in q/a section about my camera which was broken, ive send it back with knox 0/1 and custom rom and have become my phone some days later back with new camerahardware on warranty,so chill, its all good, its samsung.thanx.

Because the A3 doesn't have any good CM13 ROMs, and this would make it easier to get a fully working one. We have mygalaxya's ROM, sure, but it has a lot of bugs and doesn't even boot in certain variants of the phone.

I tried AICP11 few month ago. AICP is one of the best ROM in my opinion, but for me the lack of HDR camera and GPS sporadic functioning was enough to drop this ROM.
I saw others ROMs has some bugs like screen freezing or touch unresponsive and this is another reason not to update (YET) to custom ROM.
I came on Samsung after many years of HTC and on HTC custom ROMs I had never found bugs like that I mentioned. I mean all ROMs in that area were perfectly running android versions and the challenge was who are more customizable or better looking or faster...
So it's not a matter of knox or guaranty. A stock ROM is a fully working ROM and a custom ROM must meet at least this requirement and after that we can speak about how much is customizable or energy saving and so on...

This is truly weird if the Huawei rep that replied is providing accurate info!
At the very least, they should post the leaked B310 on their site. So, it does look like they don't want to go for full-scale deployment for the middle-Eastern MM firmware yet. A bit odd I would say.
I myself opted not to install MM on my device until the firmware is officially available on Huawei's site (or if I get the OTA release before that). I know the leaked file should be reasonably safe, but I was unable to ascertain, to an acceptable confidence level, that the file is fine. I know it seems to be performing well for those who installed it, but that was not the concern.
Anyway, it'll happen one day

In Indian Honor Beta testing form, the mobiles listed for registering for Nougat OTA contains Honor 5X and 5C.
So the probability for Nougat to Honor 5X is high I would say.
Also you can note that Honor 7 hasn't been listed in it. So it might leave H7.

Is this ROM compatible with the rest of the 2017G phones or is intended only for Germany?, because for example, in Spain they have a B09 which other countries don't have.

Thanks for answer, too bad we couldn't get Nougat on January, but let's hope the developers can wipe out the most bugs they can.
Every OEM has been having troubles with the Nougat update, even Google with the Nexus phones, and some of them have even rolled back globally the whole update after some days of release it.
I just hope to get a stable nice update, no matter if it take a couple of weeks later.
Thanks for all the information!

It is still undergoing beta testing, I assume you would like a bugfree version right? Then be patient!
Can someone pull the ROM or take a logcat to see the link - thnx !
adb logcat > A2017GB10.txt
do it BEFORE ota update
I can confirm they fix the broken lock screen.
Now it's just like before B08 that broke that.
Good job by ZTE.
Hope next month for as much bug free Nougat upgrade.

Stop complaining? Why? I can understand you, but If they announce it several times and don't deliver something...is it not their own fault? Just saying...no hate.

Can you explain more about this?, I don't see how the lock screen was broken or buggy, I haven't had any problem yet with it and I'm still on B08.
Maybe something I haven't noticed yet?.

When you get notification and pull it down, it should stay down, however it goes to the top of the screen and small.
This is fixed in B10.

LG G6 Android Oreo update will arrive in Europe by the end of June / Good Bye my G6

The LG V30 is already happily running Android Oreo in some parts of the world (most notably the company's home country of South Korea). The G6, on the other hand, hasn't been as lucky. Back in October a unit running Oreo appeared in a benchmark, and then around the end of last year we found out that LG was running a beta test of the software in China.
If you were wondering when the finalized version of LG's interpretation of Oreo would finally reach Europe, for example, we may now have the answer. According to the company's official website for Italy, the G6 is expected to be graced with the update in the first half of this year. Here's a screenshot proving the above.

That unfortunately means that, in the worst case scenario, you will have to wait until late June to see the tasty treat on your G6, a handset that isn't even one year old at this point. LG Italy's official Twitter account has pinned down the update time frame even more - to the second quarter (so at some point between April and June).

Of course you are free to do what you want with your phone, but doesn't that reaction seem kind of irrational? Trash an otherwise good phone because you have to wait a few more months for an update (and not that big an update at that)?
To me its really a matter of expectations.
When you buy a toaster or a refrigerator do you become angry and get rid of it after a year because the manufacturer doesn't upgrade your product after you buy it?
Did LG promise you or advertise when you bought the phone that you will get updates on a schedule?
No I don't work for LG
You think his reaction is bad? You should see the LG G6 subreddit.. I think LG will lose many customers after their very blasé approach to dealing with software updates.

lul ? how?
bad for me i have lg g6+
Last time I've checked, Polish LG rep said that we should get Oreo on G6 around February. He posted that screenshot from above last week and now there's a news from LG Italy that Oreo will arrive in Q2 2018...
Let's wait till the end of February and check if LG is f.cking their customers with loads of bull.
If they are, the customers should f.ck them when the new LG phones get released.
I respectfully disagree. How many of their average customers care about updates?
People who comment on forums are a select (weird) group, probably a very small % of the customers. For those folks, timely updates are important.
I am a bit of a technophile myself, and although updates are fun, more important are the long term useability and durability.

For me lg on g6 is making great mistakes both on security patches that oreo, x performance, xz xzs, main competitors have not only the updated patches but also oreo.Mai more smartphones lg, I also have the screens in which lg italy told me to my question since I have to change my smartphone and I'm undecided whether to stay in sony buying xzs or lg g6 as you are at the level of updates and speed of release? fast and timely response. I am attaching the screen in Italian

From me
BTW found the discussion on Twitter, seems they're discussing about a test (i say "they" because i don't know if the screen is yours), who knows, usually Poland is the first country in Europe to receive Major updates in LG History, but the KDZ didn't pop up yet...
I'm calling out that there is an elephant in the room.
This might sound kind of provocative, but could it be that LG concluded that Oreo is not really a major update, and is therefore not in a rush to get it on existing models?
It seems to me that there is a lot of hype in new versions.
When I look at the list of the new "features" in Oreo, it's really quite unimpressive. Picture in picture? Icons that change shape? Who cares? It's a much smaller difference than say Kit Kat to Lollipop.
Of course when you buy a new model phone you want the latest software on it.
But just because Android came out with a new version number it doesn't mean its that much different. Modern OSs are pretty evolved and full featured now, so many improvements are basically stylistic changes that are like getting new style clothing.
Most of the things that Google hypes as major changes are more like minor tweaks. Other than the security updates, can anybody tell me how Oreo is any more functional than Marshmallow?
Also , many of the evolutionary improvements are pushed through the Google system app update anyway. Anything else can be obtained via other launchers
Just playing the contrarian here...
