Some info for users of alternative chargers.

I have a Xperia U, supplied with EP800 charger, but I charged my phone with an iphone charger, because EP800 had this weird sound while charging that bothered me. It went 3 weeks with no problems until one night, left my phone charging but then on the next morning it was dead: no power, no blinking led, no safe mode, even no flashmode, nothing, just had this orange led while connected to the (iPhone) charger or the PC, but nothing else, obviously no sony logo or anything booting.
Ive searched through forums and concluded that it was HW issue. I sent it into technical service and they gave it back with "no issues detected".
Then arrived home, connected to the (iPhone) charger and nothing, so finally, just to try, I connected the phone to the supplied charger and, guess what, it started charging with no issues...
So, some advice if you are using alternative chargers is to check the charger if you face some of this problems, dunno if it happens or P or Sola.
BTW EP800 charge have 5v 850mA output, might be useful if yours died.
I've never charged my Xperia U with the Sony charger only ever charged it with my HP Touchpad since the day I got it 3-4 months ago, never had a problem.
Seems like The Evil Apple's doing to our beloved androids... ...Just kidding.
Does Apple use high frequency DC chargers?...if yes then maybe it is the reason.I have also used samsung's charger and didn't face any issues.

[Q] [P] Device does not charge with a car charger

Hello.
I need your help.
I've my Sony Xperia P since a week.
Today I noticed that the Xperia P is not charging on car charger.
While the charging flash appears, after navigating the device has less power than before. I started with 91% and at the end i had 83%.
I thought the problem might be on the charger and've tested two other cables.
In all three cases, the charging icon appears, for a short moment it comes a message "please disconnect the charger to save power" (Same which comes when full charged with the wall charger) and the battery continues to discharge itself .
Durring the other tests the Batterie went from 82% to 71%, and 71% to 59%
I tested a Motorola charger 5V 850mA, an HTC charger 5V 1000mA, and a Noname charging cable 1200mA 5V
All three chargers have work on my previous phones Motorola Milestone and HTC Sensation, aswell as on devices from friends like a Samsung S1 or a Motorola Razr i
My questions are now, you have these problems too? How do I get XP loaded in the car? Which car charger do I need? Or what settings I have to do to make the existing equipment work?
Or maybe this is just my device that is not in order?
I'm still on the latest stock rom, bootloader still locked, just rooted.
Thank you for your answers.
Greetings
Eismaus
Interesting, I never get the "please disconnect charger" message.
Have you installed any battery related apps?

1 - I use a DK30 dock at home. charges very quick (using default wall AC unit)
Any wall charger that has 2000 mAh and 5-6 volts will be fine.
The mag connector is supposed to charge faster than microUSB. Haven't tested that, but it certainly saves capping and uncapping the microUSB tab.
2 - As long as you have 2000 mAh going into your device from your car, you'll be fine. it should still charge your device. It will depend on what cigarette plug your have.

[Q] Charging & Jacking issue

Hi Guys, I got my unit of xperia z2 on earlier august 2014 this year.
Been using the phone quite satisfying until recently.
First let's talk about my headphone jack. So far I had tried to used edifier earphone & samsung earphone. Both of this earphone i able to listen to it for a few week, after that the earphone just stop working, it would start off where you able to hear static sound follow up with only just 1 side of the earphone able to heard. After that it totally can't connect at all.
Is this an earphone issue or my z2 jacking issue?
Secondly, regarding of the charger. Yesterday i had used it to play game until it heated up then I had plug it to my magnetic dock to charge.
The light was there, but the phone was not charging at all, when I plugged it out, it return me something that say :" insufficient power in power source..", then I plug out & charge it via usb port, it still doesn't charge but the message didn't came out.
It got no issue charging if i off the phone.
But today morning i charge it again using the magnet dock, there is no issue again.
Is this the sony docking/cable/adapter issue?
Based on this 2 issue I got, should i send it to service center?
Are you using the original Sony dock? A 3rd party wall adapter?

[Q] Sony xperia sola charging problem

I cannot charge the battery trough the phone. The battery seems okay so i assume if i could charge it, it would work just fine. I know there are offline battery chargers, however the xperia sola's battery specific connection to the phone cause troubles. I couldn't find any specific charger for this type of battery. So my question is: If i manage to take the charging wires from the usb cable (the red and black ones) and connect them correctly to the battery, will the battery charge without destroying itself or generally, what could go wrong? I also wonder if the phone-battery type of connector is purchaseable somewhere and what's it's name.
I apologize for any language mistakes, as english is not my 1st language, and I hope you can help me.

It gives no solution but I had the same problem and I was able to buy a spare "usb port" online and had it manufactured onto the board at a hardware store.
