IS it okay to flash T- Mobile on an international Gear S - SM-R750T - Samsung Gear S

Can someone point me in the right way. Looking for US rom and could you explain the steps to do this. Can you help with this @cipherswitch
my model is SM-R750SZKASKC from Korea I want to use this with a US rom is that possible?
Thanks
V

Yes you can try but it will fail
I have the same exact watch and have been looking into this for the past day. So far I tried flashing T-mobiles firmware for the Gear S. Which you need to use Odin installer for but it failed. Then I downloaded and installed the origanal firmware as the factory reset was not working.
I then found a cyanogenmod ROM which I also used Odin to install and that one worked. Only when I had bought my watch the IMEI was all 0's. So I reinstalled it in the following order.
installing TWRP performing a Advanced wipe/ wipe all data
Then reinstalling Cyanogenmod and inserting my sim card.
Rebooting to TWRP to install the Gapps zip.
Then magically the watch booted with a imei number odly enough.
But it still wont connect to my cellular network.
So I am trouble shooting this now if anyone has any insight that would be great.
Heres the form to show you how to install the custom ROM

Heres info on SK telecomm

Heres the stock firmware link wich I have not tested but I dont use sammobile anymore so if you want to check there sight good luck.

[Q] No mobile network after flashing roms

Would like some help. I have flashed CM 11 and can't make calls. It says mobile network not available. Tried flashing AOKP rom as well and same thing. Mobile data works fine, although i have gotten a popup twice that says 'Google Play Services not supported by your device, please contact your manufacturer' (no noticible issues from this, google stuff i've tried so far works). I have included a screenshot so you can see my baseband and rom version, etc.
Now, i had a great deal of trouble getting a rom flashed to start with, CWM put me into a bootloop and TWRP wouldn't flash anything because it said it couldn't mount /storage when i tried. Used Philz advanced CWM (love it btw, will be using it from now on). Still wouldnt flash the hltespr specific CM11 version so had to use the unified hlte version (it gave me the status 7 asserts issue, but editing the asserts out just gave me a bad file error when flashing). I wiped data/cache/dalvik between each flashing. I don't know if any of that would have bearing on this problem, just including any details i can. Any advice?

Have you upgraded your bootloader to NH7? I know most of the newly-updated CM-based ROMs require you to be on NH7 before flashing. That's most-likely why you weren't able to flash the htlespr ROMs. The unified ROMs no longer include the correct APNs for Sprint, so that's why you don't get service on it. I don't know why mobile data works on it.

No, didnt realize that i needed to do that. I'll do some research on it because i don't have any idea how to update the bootloader. If you have a link to a good tutorial that would be wonderful! Thanks!
Ok so i tried that, found this tutorial, followed it, no luck. Tried full wipe/reset after that to see if it would let me install the hltespr versions, still no dice. Same situation, mobile data works, calls don't. Will have to wait till daylight to try texting so i don't wake anyone up but i suspect that texting won't work either. Has anyone experienced this and fixed it? Lol i really didn't drop $100 on a phone to be saddled with all the Samsung and Sprint baloney that it comes with, don't wanna unroot....
Bump
Anyone have ideas on this? Have continued to try fooling around with the udater-script file to resolve the status 7 problem so I can install the hltespr variant, still no dice. Please someone help!
Bump!
Sorry, I typically don't have access to XDA forums on the weekend, so couldn't answer your question till now.
You flashed only the baseband/modem, not the Bootloader. If you want to update the Bootloader, you need to use ODIN to flash the Complete OTA NH7 Update.
In order to update the Bootloader, you need to make sure that you use the PC ODIN (not the mobile one) and that you completely power off the phone before you enter download mode (don't access download mode by using the extended power menu when shutting down the phone). I don't think you need to do the battery pull that Freeza had in his instructions (I didn't do it when I ODIN-flashed the NH7 OTA update), but it wouldn't hurt to do it.
Thanks for that, I will try it as soon as I get home tonight! The next thing I had decided to try was to unroot, to back to stock, then try flashing that before I start with the custom recovery and ROM. Do you think I should do that first before doing the whole thing or could that work just flashing that with my phone as-is?

Well, I always recommend a full wipe (data, system, cache, dalvik) when flashing ROMs. I haven't wiped my internal storage or external storage since I got the phone, so that's not really necessary.
I don't think that unrooting your current ROM is necessary. Flashing the ODIN OTA update will automatically remove root access, so that's not an issue. Here's the steps I took when I updated to NH7 and installed my current ROM (see my sig):
Make a Nandroid backup.
I always do this just so I have a "record" of what I left behind. It also allows me to have all of my app data that I can restore via Titanium Backup (you have to buy the Pro version in order to restore specific apps from a Nandroid backup). I always store a copy on my ext. storage and on dropbox.
Do a full wipe
As I mentioned above, I always wipe data, system, and the caches when flashing ROMs. While I have to take some time to get the new ROM exactly as I like it, it minimizes any potential FCs and errors that some people get when dirty flashing.
Install NH7 all-in-one via ODIN
I installed the NH7 via ODIN. Please note that this is the fully stock, unrooted ROM and will also install the stock recovery.
Let the phone boot and connect to Sprint. Update Profile and PRL.
I do this periodically whenever I go back to stock (from AOSP). I rarely have connection issues, but updating the PRL an profile can help with those.
Install a custom recovery using ODIN.
My recovery of choice is TWRP, but others have found just as much success with CWM and Philz. Just make sure that you're installing the correct version of the recovery (4.4.X version, not the 4.2.X version). I always reboot to the main system after installing a recovery, but that's up to you. In the rest of this post, I'll say "TWRP," but I really mean "custom recovery."
[OPTIONAL] Make a Nandroid backup of the stock ROM
I always do this, but I recognize that it's not necessary, especially since we can just ODIN back to this image at any time. I just like having the option of having a stock backup on the device (in case catastrophe strikes while I'm away from a computer).
Use TWRP to flash your AOSP ROM of choice.
If you haven't installed any apps or messed around with the settings, you shouldn't have to wipe before flashing, but (in case you haven't noticed by now), I tend to err on the side of caution, specifically: wiping everything (data, system, and the caches) before I flash anything.
Set up the ROM how you like it and [OPTIONAL] make one last Nandroid Backup
Whenever I set up a new ROM to the exact way I like it (statusbar settings, accounts set up, apps installed and configured, etc), I make a nandroid backup of my device. This allows me to go back to that "fresh" image whenever something happens to the device and I don't have to muddle around fixing those minor tweaks. Again, I tend to err on the side of wiping the phone too often and taking too many backups, but I've rarely had issues with my phone and ROMs because of it (to the point where I can spend most of my XDA time helping others with their phones), so it might be prudent to follow the advice.
Anyways, that's how I upgraded to NH7 and installed a custom ROM. Others may take a less conservative approach and you're welcome to adjust any of the optional steps.
Hope this helps!

OK, did all that successfully, when it went back to stock stiil had the same issue. Mobile data functions, mobile network for calls/SMS doesn't. Did the whole update prl/profile and even tried reactivating from settings, still nothing. Was able to install custom recovery (Philz) and the hltespr CM11 variant instead of the unified generic version. Still has the same problem, mobile network not available. Everything else works perfectly. I did verify in settings that it still wound up as the NH7 after everything I did. Note I did a full reset before each thing that got flashed in this process, and one more for good measure after. Let it boot to the system between steps too.
Lol I've been rooting and switching between ROMs for years and have never encountered anything like this. I'm stumped....

Dumb question but are you a Verizon customer or Sprint?
Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
Sprint, I've had big red before but when they did away with unlimited data it wasn't worth paying their high rates.

Anyone have any ideas on this? I am just confounded as to why this continues even after being reset to stock.
Same Issue!!!
I have the exact same issue and have been trying to resolve it for the last 2 days... Did you find a solution?
I have the same problem on a Samsung Mega. LTE and 3G data work but phone won't dial if LTE is active. It WILL voice dial if only 3G is active. Sprint. CM11.
I had this problem after flashing ROMs as well, but went into Settings>Connections>More Networks>Mobile Networks>Network Mode and selected LTE/CDMA....no network had been selected. That fixed me right up. Weird part is, I could still avcess the web without WiFi....but couldn't make calls or ise my bluetooth headset until I had performed the above steps. Hope that helps.
thanks forget the little things reset wifi and sprint cell extender

Music from SD Card
I just flashed the rom on my e970 and everything works including the phone seeing the SD Card but I can't get any music player to read the music that is on the sd card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Use sd scanner app from play store, that works fine for me.
Will this support Mod kernels? I think that's what I want to say but I'm not a complete Android geek.... Yet
2g-3g switch problem
I can't switch to WCDMA from gsm. It only receives 2g signals.
When I try to launch mobile networks , it crashes.
I couldn't locate the modem settings in engineering mode either.
i have thesame problem...
Upgrading to CM12 Lollipop
Hi, I'm trying to upgrade to Lollipop from this ROM and at first while flashing the CM12 zip i encountered the error "This zip is intended for gee, geeb" etc. So, I tweaked the updater-script and removed the assert and ran the script which installed the ROM but I'm unable to install the Google Apps. I tried with all gapps packages (minimal, micro, full), but none of them works. Can you please help me out?
Does this have anything to do with build.prop? Even though I flashed the fix to show as ATT e970, the CM12 updater-script identified this device as "geehrc4g"??Also, build.prop has some lines like
ro.com.google.cliendidbase.am=android-kt-kr
ro.com.google.cliendidbase.am=android-kt-kr
Do you know where can I find the exact build.prop for e970 (Kitkat)?

is all good w the e971 and this rom?
Hi, just wondering how everything functions on the e971 with this rom? Flashing roms is new to me and am so bummed to finally receive word from Rogers there will be no official update for this device which is in my opinion unacceptable buying a flagship device and getting only 1 update for it 6 months later when the phone manufacturer has updated it, I'm done with them, anyways some help would be appreciated as I need my phone to function properly, I am on official JB 4.1.2 from Rogers, I have unlocked the device to be used with any carrier, now I am planning on rooting using the zv9-zvb universal root method, i was then planning on unlocking bootloader using freegee and then using freegee to install cwm phils touch and then gonna install this rom, anyways are those the propper steps and if I so will all functions of my e971 work as they should with this rom?
Also if i need to go back will it be as easy as downloading paulicats rogers 4.1.2 zip and using cwm to install it and revert back? Any help would be greatly appreciated and if your ever in my neck a the woods I'll buy ya a beer. Thanks.
Working fine for me
This is my first android device so I was attempting this for the first time, I was on Stock JB. First I Rooted the phone(universal root kit), unlocked its boot loader(app from playstore), was taken to cwm, tried to flash the ROM it didn't work a status 7 error occurred, then I flashed philz recovery, flashed the ROM again and its working fine.
I am new to this android world so this may sound noob but is there a way to backup my apps only so that I don't have to re install them every time I flash a new ROM. (Will be trying a lot of roms from now).
lg optimus g e971
When flashing the kittkat do I need to us cwm and be rooted
how to flash e970 stock ROM!
I tried it by installing zip via cwm recovery but it says error in zip.
Flawless Installation
I just installed this ROM on my LG Optimus G E971 and the entire installation was simple and flawless. Prior to this ROM, I had [ROM][5.1.1] [GEEB] [Mako base] Unofficial CM-12.1 which is a great ROM too, however, I wanted to try something that was based on stock. I have the latest version of CWM for LG Optimus G E971.
This is how I installed the following ROM:
1. Downloaded the ROM onto my phone
2. Booted into CWM recovery
3. Wiped data/factory reset
4. Wiped cache Partition
5. Installed ROM
6. Rebooted
Once I have used this ROM as my daily driver for a while, I will get back and share my opinion and thoughts about it.
I stumbled on to this rom and I must say it is very good. There are only two issues I am having that hopefully someone can help me out with. The first issue is an annoying data network setting prompt that happens when I boot up which tells me that I will incur additional data charges. There is a setting under mobile networks that is checked called "ask when data connected" Whenever I try to uncheck it it reverts back to being checked. The second is under access point names. There are two other apn there that I cannot delete for some reason. Does anyone have any ideas how I can resolve these issues?
how do i flash e973 kk flash to my phone?
first of all, im sorry to bring back an old thread back to life, also for my lack of knowledge,
but id really love to install KK on my e973.
I managed to root my phone using root with restore by Bin4ry, but im lost at the steps forward from that.
Could anyone advise me with the prerequisites, tools and steps?
Thanks
Mobile network not working
The only thing that doesn't work is data/mobile network connection. I can make calls and receive texts, but data doesn't connect. What are some fixes I can try?

Just straight on top of the rom, or should I do a fresh install?
EDIT: Also are there different versions of the modem? This post only has one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2220048

Yes the one you have linked to. Just reboot into cwm or twrp which ever recovery you have and flash it. Once done reboot.

I'm not really sure what APN is, but after Google-ing it I found this on AT&T's support site (att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB424489&cv=820#fbid=lMQAN_Ixyrx).
I don't know what it did, but following the instructions fixed the problem
Thanks for the advice

Emergeny calls Out of service area

Hello everyone,
First of all i want to thank you for all this guides that i was trying to use here
So here's my story.
I got Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 with bootloop issue so i decide to fix this by myself.
I was trying to install fimware using KIES but i doesn't fix my issue.
Then i was trying to search for right rom on several websites.
The right one and only working one was 4.0.4 with orange brand logo.
So i was excited that its finally working
Then i realize that my imei is null and my sim card is not working.
So i was trying to restore EFS using several tools and methods.
Finally i got it default IMEI 0049 but it was still not working.
My phone is not qualcomm based model so i cannot use nv item reader writer as it's required to edit IMEI
Even after applying phonutil patch my device is not being recognize as Qualcomm one.(because it's not)
So i was still looking for another way to change my imei manually as i have my original one on the box and under battery.
Finally I realized that i cannot make even Emergency calls it comes with message Out of service area.
So i was trying to apply few modem and radio updates to my phone but none of them are helping.
Anyone have similiar issue?
I have another Galaxy S3 that is working can i copy imei or whole system to my not working phone?
I know that after that i cannot use other device, but thats ok if its possible.

Have you tried patched modem and kernel? Did you read the guides on xda >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/ref-imei-efs-stuff-i9300-including-t2393289 << and no you cannot copy imei from another phone.

I tried everything from this guide.
Regarding patch:
4.0.4-I9300BVALE4 firmware is the only one working on my Samsung
Patched modem and kernel that i found and try it are XXUGMK6.
Maybe they are different one or dedicated to my firmware

The reason you can't make calls is because at some point your phone software was on 4.3 this means your efs as changed to efs v2. Now because your current firmware is at 4.0.4 then your efs can't read this because 4.0.4 is efs v1. So you need to get a 4.3 stock rom onto your phone (I know you said only 4.0.4 works) but what are you using install firmware are you using Odin? If so what errors are you getting installing with Odin.
The patched modems and kernels are for 4.3 so they won't work on 4.0.4 or any other apart from 4.3
I was trying so many of them but its always ends with samsung logo loop it doesn' matter if i'm
do things like wipe cache, factory settings etc everytime its not working.
Even on 4.0.4 only this one rom is working.
Im always using ODIN, with KIES its always ends with samsung logo loop.

Ok a couple of things you could try (if you haven't already) I presume you have a custom recovery? Try flashing a custom stock 4.3 with recovery I suggest this >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/rom-sammys-stock-deodexed-rooted-t2585670 << This is as close to stock as possible but can be flashed with a custom recovery like Cwm,PhilZ,Twrp etc. You will also need to flash a 4.3 modem for this which is included in the thread. If the modem in the thread does not give you a signal (presuming the rom boots ) then keep the same custom rom but flash a patched modem and kernel on top with your custom recovery.
Don't forget to factory reset after flashing!
If none of that works you can always try the rescue firmware here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30087735&postcount=6 << obviously flash the 4.3 one. Hope that helps
Thank you very much for your help i will try this and let know here if it's working

So it's me again.
I have good news and bad news.
So i was able to install both of firmware with success.
After applying patched modem everything was still working.
But when im calling 112 for example im still having "out of service area" and my imei is still 004999...
So issue is still exist.
I can discover any network when i choose network its even says"registred on network" but then if im trying to choose some number im having error message that im not registred or if emergency call "out of service area".
Any ideas what still can i try ?

No Cellular on Custom ROM

I had my s2 hard bricked and now i got a new motherboard for it, the thing is that on all stock roms (2.3 and 4.1.2) the phone works perfectly but all the custom roms 4.4 5.0 6.0 the cellular does not work, it gives me no service, tried flashing modem from cwm but no change.
i also tried different recoveries etc but custom rom no service
sometimes in custom rom imei used to be blank but it comes back after reboot, in stock no issues at all
any idea what im doing wrong or is there something up with the new board?
thanks,
Update
I was searching and I read somewhere that installing NeatROM by Sale will help, i downloaded and installed it, the good news is that cellular works and i have full 3G access.
Question: How to proceed further?
i could experiment but the thing is that if i flash a non-working rom (no cellular), i will have to flash stock from odin and start all over again
any ideas?
Update 2
i tried NeatROM and it worked perfectly, then i tried installing slimLP and boom, no service again, this time,my IMEI was blank too, so now i'm flashing stockrom again.
any idea anyone please?

LineageOS 14.1 for i9300 network services are not running.

I have null imei after update. LineageOS 14.1 for i9300 network services are not running. Is there a solution for this release and post? It is possible to make a development like "Zuluman, ariza", can you do this? I want so much. The only solution to this problem. I live in Turkey. I bought a device IMEI changed from abroad. These problems were solved for 4.4 and before, "Zuluman and Ariza". However, nothing was done for the new releases. Help, thank you
You need a patched modem.
Beamed in by telepathy.
I have it for 4.4. But not for later versions. Required for later versions. I want to install 7.1. Required for 7.1.
I recommend you flash a stock rom and see if the problem still exists.
Lineage os is frequently updated and it is very likely that the build you have has issues with wifi.
Beamed in by telepathy.
I tried to install but I get Error: 7 in the TWRP.
Tried with 3.0.2.2 and 3.1.0
Anyone with this problem too?
I have no cellular data on my Galaxy S3 i9300, with Lineage, though it works fine with Archidroid, which I have installed since. Cell Data worked briefly with Lineage, but now not at all. I believe it might have been triggered by turning off wifi, but not sure. Tried a complete wipe of all caches, data, system, etc. plus a reformat of internal before clean installing lineage-14.1-201727-nightly with GAPPS pico. My IMEI is still intact, so that doesn't seem to be the issue, as cited above.
I have the same problem unfortunately. I just wiped my old stock android from my Galaxy S III and installed Lineage OS 14.1. The installation seems to work well, except that my Sim card is not recognised. When I check "Baseband version" in Settings/Phone Status it tells me "Unknown". I assume it has something to do with the modem driver. Does anybody know where to get the right modem driver?
I tried googling for a modem driver and installing it with heimdall. But then my phone didn't start anymore and I had to reinstall Lineage OS...

Do you know where I can find such a stock version? Unfortunately I made a mistake with the recovery backup...
Look at sammobile.com or updato.com for the latest stock ROM.
Thank you! Unfortunately this didn't work... I downloaded the firmware (for Cyprus because the phone was bought in Cyprus) and used Odin to install it but now when I try to turn on the phone it just shows the boot screen (saying Samsung Galaxy S 3) and then goes black... I'm not sure what I am doing wrong here. Perhaps I didn't choose the right firmware, do you know how to find out what exact firmware I should download? I got the phone used, so I am not 100% sure it was bought in Cyprus, perhaps UK but it was bought without a network provider.

Is there anywhere I can get a clean unlocked stock rom for the U.S. GT-I9300? I lost mine and had to use a T-Mobile rom from elsewhere. Why is this, or a rom from any U.S. carrier nonexistent on the lists? Thanks!
The gt-I9300 was never sold in the USA so there was never a stock USA rom. The T-Mobile s3 was the sgh-t999.
Is the phone shown as the get-I9300 in download mode?

That statement doesn't make sense to me. I live in California, USA and bought it as an unlocked, no carrier, International GT-I9300 from BestBuy. It never had a carrier logo associated with it originally, but since I had to replace the original rom, it now includes a T-Mobile splash after the Samsung S3 splash.
Yes, it states that its a GT-I9300 in Download mode.
The gt-i9300 international was never sold by T-Mobile USA as it doesn't support LTE in the USA:https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9300_galaxy_s_iii-4238.php.
This is the T-Mobile USA s3: https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_iii_t999-4804.php

Thanks, but I'm not looking for a T-Mobile USA stock rom. I'm looking for the GT-I9300 USA International, Unlocked stock rom that originally came with my USA purchased GT-I9300. From what I understand, local service providers have access to it, but Samsung won't post it publicly, like the others. Hoping someone may have a link to a copy they've found or backed-up from their own USA GT-I9300.
I have never heard of or come across a USA international rom for the gt-i9300.

I brush three times I9300ZCUBML1, or useless.
lineage-14.1-20180124-nightly-i9300-signed.zip
And brush the rom can not use 5Ghz wifi, but when using the signal I9300ZCUBML1 than my nexus6p weaker, simply can not be used in a stable, so no problem.
Where did you get the ML1 ROM? I don't see it on sammobile.com: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s-/GT-I9300/. Since the ROM ends in ML1, it could be a 4.1 ROM. Thanks.
Following is worked for me on my Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 with LineageOS 14.1:
1. Flash original ROM with Odin. (if at this moment IMEI is not correct use program "Samsung Tool" to manually edit IMEI)
2. In security setting, set SIM card lock to none. (After this you should permanently disable SIM pin request on startup on every new ROM)
3. Flash custom TWRP recovery with Odin.
4. Root phone.
5. Make nandroid backup of EFS using TWRP.
6. Wipe cache, system, boot, data and flash custom ROM (do not reboot system after flash).
7. After flashing custom ROM, restore EFS using TWRP.
8. Flash Opengapps, wipe cache, dalvik cache and reboot system.
9. Set everything up Google account...etc.
10. In options check if IMEI is valid. (If is not, reboot to recovery and try again to restore EFS)
If you don't have working cellular network after flashing custom ROM, read following:
From Play Store install app "Cell Network Reset".
Open app and run "Reset Cell Network". (This step is weird because some times after few minutes i get working network, some times after few seconds. Also some times i need to run "Reset Cell Network" few times in a row to get the network working)
I hope it will work for you
