Moonlight Game Streaming With Xperia Z4 tablet - Xperia Z4 Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Evening guys,
I came for help because i desesperatly try to stream with my xperia z4 tablet using moonlight game streaming.
But every time i execute a game from the tablet there is all the time this error message "The connection was terminated".
I have tried to reboot, pc + tablet, update Geforce experience, try all combinaison of settings on moonlight but can't find what cause the stream to crash.
I think it could be maybe the parameters of my router maybe not well configurated? Because it didn't work also with my Xperia Z3 phone.
I don't think its hardware related or speed bandwith related because i have a very good rig & connection.
Here my spec:
Windows 7 pro 64 bit
i7 4790k
GTX 970 asus strix 2oc
8gb ram
motherboard msi b85m g43
Connected via ethernet with my router (supplier Orange in France for those who might know)
Speed connection : download up to 900MB/s
Upload around 200 MB/s
For the WIFI its configured for 2.4 and 5 Ghz both.
Speed test with the tablet WIFI : download 190MB/s
upload around 150 MB/s
I hope someone would have an idea how to fix this!
Thanks in advance guys !

Hi,
This thread is being moved to your own dedicated forum , where the experts may be able to help you better.
Good luck!

I've found something to solve issue, I've installed windows 10 over Win 7 and its work now.
I'm looking now for a way to map key of my Dual shock 4 controller to make it work with game stream titles that doesn't have controller support.
I think i will try tincore key mapper, if someone have a better solution i'm taking it!
Thanks

Splashtop movie streaming lag

Splashtop remote desktop was just released and it works gr8 however when I stream video it has a slight lag. Is this caused by my PC not having enough processing power and is there a way to fix this. My pc is running duel core 2.8 processor I believe.
how fast is your internet connection?
Dual core 2.8 should be enough I would think. More ram may help if you have space to upgrade.
Also try putting anti virus in silent mode or the appropriate equivalent.
And disable all non necessary back ground apps
Unless your trying to stream out side of the LAN internet speed will have no effect whatsoever. And unless router was made in Bedrock it would be current enough to provide at least 64mps, that would be sufficient as well
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Internet connection is not the issue i have 35up/35dwn Vfios I have only 3g of ram tho (win7 32bit , ) and streaming through LAN and streaming through remote connect seem to have the same lag. Router is brand new sp not a router issue...
I don't know if this will help, but I came across a link at the splashtop support forums. I don't have enough posts to cite the link, but it's to do with GeForce cards not working properly with the splashtop 'optimisations' and is related to drivers.
You might want to have a look at it if you have a geforce card in your machine. I have one in my PC, not sure what version of the driver is installed because I'm at work. Might see if any of the tweaks in the link sort out my flickering problem. (Splashtop worked fine the first time I used it, but since then I get intermittent blackscreens and flickering; my machine is a quad-core i7 920, 6GB ram, geforce 295 GTX, Win7 64bit, and is connected to my LAN by ethernet.)
Maxy
Thanx @Maxy ill give that a try
No worries mate. For info, I updated my nvidia drivers last night and it sorted my problem, mostly. I still have a little skipping, but it's much better.

I've noticed lag with streaming video over splashtop on WiFi. Whereas, I experience no lag streaming video with SubSonic over wifi.
IMO -- Subsonic streams movie files a lot better; plus you can control quality of the stream. Splashtop is GREAT for remote desktop, and pretty good for streaming other stuff.
there's no app for SubSonic on the HP marketplace yet (probably wont ever be) but SubSonic creates a server for you on a .org domain, you just have to donate some money to the developers and bam. Give it a shot!
Try changing your wireless channel. Swapped mine to 11 and it works a treat
Check your server pc. I've noticed it's more cpu usage than broadband bandwidth. The server software is very cpu demanding even for dual cores. I've found my Intel E4400 is struggling to keep up. Check the server pc's task manager to see your cpu usage. I'm looking into upgrading my cpu to correct this issues. I've found the server software uses (on my cpu, other may vary) 40-50% and when I watch netflix, the silverlight plug-in uses another 40-50%, maxing out my cpu.

[Q] Archos 7.0 could it be the right hardware for NAS music jukebox ?

Hello,
I have been considering to make a setup for a music jukebox fed by a NAS HDD. There are quite a lot of dedicated product for multimedia player, but they all require a display to browse the NAS files (except the squeezeBox touch, wich looks almost like what I would like to have, but requires proprietary soft, not working with any NAS).
Basically, I want to manage music for my living room, but I want to keep any display away as much as possible.
So I thought that a kind of small tablet could do the job.
Requirements :
Acces to the NAS via network, preferably via ethernet.
Stereo output (any kind even if digital is prefered).
Small display 7 inch ok, 10 inch maximum (I don't want any angry birds invasion).
Cool file browser, preferably with music management (artist, style, album tags... CD cover if available).
I discovered that Archos made cool tablet and that OS may be hacked, so I can expect to find a good rom for this kind of use (or may be cook my own, though I don't look forward this)
More of all, you can find cheap Archos 7.0 home, Arnova... devices.
So now I think the best is to ask to those who already know the more about the device (and I would apreciate any advice for I might need something else).
So far I know there are no decent android tablet with ethernet port (I'd rather not have to rely on WiFi), but may be there are some adaptor.
Thank you for reading. More thangs to come for those how will take time to answer.
Not sure exactly what you want but it sounds like you should look at MPD, the Music Player Daemon. I set it up on my file server (a linux box, not a NAS) and there are android clients for it that let me control it from anywhere I get wi-fi. I've also seen MPD run on openwrt devices too... google "mighty ohm wi-fi radio" for more.
Thank you Jimmy,
Indeed, I found some soft that could do the job. I guess you recommend this project. Sounds like very promising.
In fact I have more question about the hardware. I don't think the Archos 7 home provide any kind of ethernet port even through an adaptor. So I'll need to set up WiFi (I don't use WiFi at the moment, for I prefer wired solution). I discovered that it is possible to hack the Archos tablets, but I don't know for now what are the gen8 and gen9. I suppose that Archos 7 home are g8, but not sure for now.
May be should I consider some other hardware issue, but since I only intend to read music I suppose the archos 7 home should have enough CPU power.
Another alternative seem to be an Archos9PC, but first it is more expencive, then it runs Windows I really don't know.
You are wrong, the Archos 7 Home ( you are in the wrong forum for that ) is Gen7.
Gen8 ( 8th Generation ) is the Archos 70 Internet Tablet.
While the HT has enough cpu power, i don't think you will be happy with it, but who knows.
The Gen8 has UPnP directly in the Firmware and the std Musikplayer allready has an option to use the "normal" twonky ( or whatever is running on your NAS) Server.
You can use a OTG Cable and a USB-Ethernet adapter, but Wifi is alot easier.

I suggest as I do. Run NAS with the DLNA. Setup a western digital hd media player to your audio/video system. Use the "bubble upnp" app on your Archos to controlled it all. I use this method and am able to play content from the NAS to the WDHDTV or straight to the tablet or vise versa... from tablet to WDHDTV... bubble does it ALL.... if you want video too...HD video maybe? Use a PC/Linux or some Box to run TVMOBILI on your box and have it index the NAS instead of the built in NAS Dlna... it is better Dlna server and supports MKV without transcode... and also supports AllShare (Samsung TV protocol) so you can just use your Samsung TV as your player instead of WDHDTV player... I have all 5 things running now and I have many options in my media arsenal

Looks like the kind of app I'm looking for. Thank you Josh.
I do NOT want anything but music, for I 've banned TV and internet from the living room. (TV and net have dedicated place). I don't want to set up a LinuxBox either (I'll probably do that for the HDTV in another place, but one thing at a time).
So the questions are :
-Would an Archos 7Home be good enougth for that ?
-If yes, is it possible to change the ROM of the Archos 7 home for a homecooked optimized rom ?
-is there somewhere an option (as for Archos9PC) to cradle the archos 7 Home whit a ethernet port (to avoid Wifi) ?
Finally, considering the NAS working along with bubble upnp, is it required to install some soft on the NAS and are there some kind of incompatibility (that's one of the drawback I see with the logitech squeeze box touch)

WiiU Pro Controller

Hi, I've been trying for like five straight days to figure out a method to get the WiiU Pro Controller to work with my HTC One and I've had no luck. The problem is that I need a pin to enter on my phone to pair it when in reality you don't and that's the problem. I can't find a way to bypass not entering a key. I've tried everything and have failed, I'd pay to see someone to get this to work and I think this could be the place. Any help?
Same here. I am looking and will report back if I find something
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2
Anybody have info on this? I have had no luck with the PS3 controller or the Wii U Pro controller and would love a solution.
I don't have any experience with the WiiU Pro controller but Android 4.2 broke Wiimote support. I am running a 4.1 ROM to use a Wiimote for games. Also I used to own an HTC device and Sense wasn't compatible with Wiimotes and I had to switch to CM to use one but that was ages ago.. Food for thought.
Hey there,
I've lately been exploring the true potential of the Wii U Pro Controller. So far I have been able to pair it with PC and utilize it flawlessly with a Steam game (Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition), so I've moved on to see it's capabilities in the android world.
I've done quite a bit of research and can confirm the only way you can possibly utilize this controller up till today is with an app that specifically claims to support it. At the moment the only known ones are any of Robert Broglia's apps. He has managed to incorporate a feature called "Scan for Wiimotes/iCP/JS1" which works like magic with the Wii U Pro Controllers. I have been able to connect 4 controllers to it just by enabling the scan and pressing the "Sync" button on each controller. Unfortunately though this doesn't actually "pair" the controllers per say, it seems like it's only a very temporary connection which disappears once you press Home button or exit the app. This limits you to only SNES/GB and the other few apps he has but hey at least it's a start.
Now moving onto the actual "pairing" side of things - I have recently downloaded a number of bluetooth manager apps and joystick input apps to experiment with, and using a combination of a few, I was able to somehow pair the controller!
[See attached, noobs aren't allowed to post URLs ]
HOWEVER - unfortunately I have tried using it with a few apps (mainly N64 ones) and it seems to be totally unresponsive. Either that or perhaps I'm not using the correct Joystick button mapping apps...
Btw I'm still using 4.1.2, during my research I've noticed a lot of people on 4.2 have been unsuccessful with most of what I've mentioned above...

Unfortunately, I dont remember
No, regardless of it being paired, there is not a single way I can use it, all four lights on the controller remain blinking (probably normal till an intended-for-use app instructs it to light only 1 LED), and whatever app I try to use it with, won't register or recognize any keypresses.

I assume your Android OS version is later than 4.1.2?
Supposedly this works, but you may need to attach a bluetooth dongle to your device (yes, even though it already has bluetooth built in):

is this the app?

uh.... i found this app in the app store recently and was curious if this would help anybody... it claims that i works with wii remotes and does work with the ps4 controller~
the reason that i cant comfirm if it works or not is because i dont own a wii u pro controller (yet lol)
i hope this helps! sorry if it doesnt
damn it aparently i cant post links yet..
anywho you can search this in the android market and it should send you to one of his apps

This might help anybody having pairing issues. My nabi 2 has an option for ''bluetooth time out'' before changing it to ''never off'' i couldn't pair my phone. Afterwards it paired effortlessly.

Hi Zulu, I think I saw someone get a bit of hate for this suggestion with your Nexus Player LolliRock ROM but is it possible to install the Leanback Launcher onto this full Android ROM and emulate most of the Android TV experience? My reason would be that I want the freedom of the full Play Store app and settings but I do like the Android TV interface for use from my couch.
Also, presumably this requires an unlocked bootloader but not root because I've been struggling to root my 16 GB model.
Thanks for your work.

Sure that you can. The leanback launcher is a stupid launcher like others but just a little more stupid because not support mouse. But you can start Android TV apps also without leanback launcher. http://www.apkmirror.com/?s=leanback+launcher&post_type=apps_post
You can start the leanback launcher also like an app if you create a shortcut like in this video https://youtu.be/NMqz8e33oq8 So when you install Android TV apps, you can have all in one bad place that is the leanback launcher. Without create a shortcut for every Android TV app. ( 10 in total )
I prferer Googl Now Launcher.
People not understand that you need just more accessibility on apps and this depend from developers.
You can control an app with a mouse, dpad or controller if a developer want this.
After that you can use Android, Android TV or also Android NOOB.
One thing is sure, Android TV is limited on purpose and you can't have all apps from Google Play.
The 320 dpi in build.prop is not compatible with many beautiful apps also if you sideload.
Every standard app is better and faster than the leanback version. Try standard youtube and leanback youtube to understand.
For me the life is too short to waste time with directional keys. I never used a classic Smart TV for this reason and all my TV are Smart TV.
For this reason i like full Android.
You think that if Android TV was better than Android I lose most of my free time to build these firmware ? I'm not so stupid.
But do not worry i appreciate and respect the requests of all
To have Youtube at 1080p and up read this post

I suggest to read also the comments. to understand really what i think.
I am very tired of the forced closures made to defend the economic interests of a few.
Many of these closures are also passed off as security but are just violations of the rules for fair competition between companies.
I hope I am not overlooking something due to lack of sleep, but am I correct in saying the nvidia game controller that came with the box doesn't work in this rom? My box isn't recognizing the controller after flashing rom, gapps, and su
After reading a little closer I see it can be made to work if connected via usb, but I much rather have it work wireless since I use the box connected to a network cable and wireless network connection doesn't pose any interference for me. Is there a way to restore the wireless controller connection?

For the controller in wireless mode: ( wired works well )
Request it to Nvidia sayng:
Please Nvidia if you sell an hardware controller, why you not publish the drivers for Android, Windows and Linux like all other companies that sell an hardware controller ? Or explain how to add it in a custom firmware ? You publish also the source code, why not publish it as closed binaries like others parts proprietary ?
In the second post you can find an alternative to use the controller in wireless mode.
It work better than native wireless mode, everyone can compare also in Nvidia Grid. ( Grid is beautiful also with my bad adsl )
And don't forget that you can use also any other standard controller ( also a 5$ chinese controller ), because the voice search capability and audio routing is possible in this firmware in many ways. The smarter way to make voice search in google now ( the full google now ) is with a webcam attached or with a bluetooth headsets. It's smarter because you can do this without nothing in your hands. Just sayng: " OK Google " + videochats in hangout and more...
Unfortunally i can't solve this for now. The only one thing that not work, but not for my incompetence.
I don't want use bad words to explain better why this behaviour. But smart people can understand.
Has anyone tried this on a shield tablet? I would assume you ca get a close experience. Also are the Nvidia apps bundled in the rom(controller, grid, game stream)

I like this ROM, but I have come across a few things that might make me go back to stock. The problem with wireless game controller not working unless tethered to the device (Not zulu99's fault), and Doom 3 will no longer run. You start it and it immediately just goes back to the home screen without any error to reference. I downloaded the stock image and am still debating as to whether I want to go back to stock or not.. I didn't say it before and I should have, but thanks for all the time and effort you have invested in this ROM.

This firmware is for Shield Console, not for Shield Tablet.
Shield hub that have also grid inside can be downloaded directly from goole play.
for game stream i can work on the nvidia proprietary apk, but i tested Screen Stream Mirroring app and it work.
You can also record your gameplay with any app for screen recording so this is not a problem.

No i ported full Android to Shield Console, because on Android TV you are in a walled garden and you can't have all apps from google play
In Android Tv you have also by default density to 320 dpi that is not good for standard apps.
If you like immersive mode you can simply use xposed framework.
Thanks for the clarification. With that said how can I get the android TV experience with Google now search on my tablet? Is it possible?

Kinoconole emulates a 360 controller, which might be why it works. I believe it even installs the controller driver (I'm not sure if it's the default controller driver or a modified version). However, it can cause problems if you used a 360 controller, and have the proper 360 driver installed, prior to installing Kinoconsole.
Try uninstalling kinoconsole and the 360 controller driver from device manager.
Let me know if that helped.

FWIW, this app was what FINALLY let me launch Magic: the Gathering Online (MTGO) via Steam and have it remote play. I used this app to search it up and launch the client, and viola, now I'm playing MTGO in my living room with a wireless mouse/trackpad.
Thank you!!!
