Thinking about upgrading but never had an LG phone, thoughts? - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have pretty much had note phones since they launched and was all set to get a note 5 when I saw they removed the SD and battery stuff so now I am on the hunt for something else and saw the V10. Does LG try to block rooting phones or anything like Samsung had for security knox? Any major issues or anything come up with this phone or LG? I am a bit set on just getting one since it's one of the few phones that still have some of the features I want but I've never dealt with LG before

I came from the Note series and I'm very happy. Rooting is easy, no knox type security.

Thanks, at first I was worried about giving up the s-pen before my brain reminded me I hadn't used the thing in four months so the more I look at this phone the more sure I am about grabbing one after work. Since you had a note does this screen seem smaller or did you not even notice the switch?

i believe the screen is the same size, but you have the on-screen navbar rather than the off-screen physical buttons of the Note.
ive been a huge Note fan but i too am considering this device. i saw it in the Tmo store and was immediately drawn to it. i see some users with car bluetooth issues tho, so that's making me hesitate just a tad. but we'll see, maybe we'll both end up getting it. with a plethora of storage and the promo giveaways they are drawing some of us in haha.

Yeah not gonna lie, I saw the free battery, charger and SD card till the 15th and thought well maybe I should just jump on it. The bluetooth issues seem odd since it's user an older BT and not the new one like the note 5 has but my car is behind the times because I love it far to much so all I got is an aux port which from how the headset line is setup is gonna sound pretty good maybe even not need to edit the volume settings to make it louder like I did with the note 4.
I just really can't accept a phone without a removable battery and an SD slot on it. I know it's not for everyone but when you have had one for years you find it very hard to go without and after poking around on google it seems my choices are slim.

ah, i forgot about good ol' line out. but i dunno, i may get one and just test out everything within my return period.
yeah, non-removable battery makes me nervous, but even tho i had spare batteries for the Notes, i never needed them! but not being able to store everything i want, without an OTG drive, is an inconvenience for sure. keep us posted on what you end up doing..
Edit: by the way, i think LG holds promise. they made the Nexus 4, which a friend of mine used for over 3 years! and i had the Optimus G briefly, buying from a friend to help him with financial problems, and it seemed very solid and was maybe the most powerful phone at the time.

I'm. In the same boat as you guys, needed the storage and battery. As far as the spen, you have the screen capture (which is mostly where I needed to use the spen), where you can write on it with your finger. Not as nice as the spen, but if you want to use a stylus, you have that option.

I called the shop and will pick one up tonight, I forgot that we can return it in 14 days without any issues so I will just take it for a test drive and see. I keep hearing mixed reviews the more I read of them today.

Not if it's within 14 days at least from a real tmobile store. I did it with another phone a few upgrades back and didn't have an issue, just say the phone isn't for you or you can't get signal like on the old phone.

Isn't there a $50 restocking fee? That's what I was always told.

Yeah I keep reading that and it's the only reason I haven't gone to try T-mobile with this phone (would be coming from AT&T). If I find service isn't what I hope for I don't want to pay that $50 restocking fee.

i ended up picking one up myself, and i honestly don't think you'll be disappointed. it's way cool! feature-rich yet seems to maintain a light and snappy feel. and i'm glad to say bluetooth music works fine, it even auto-connects when i start the car, just takes maybe 10-15 seconds longer than my previous Notes.

They are charging me a restocking fee for returning the Note5. Got the 64 GB one with the wireless charger so I had to pay $215 up front. This phone costs $49 up front (doing jump and monthly installment). Actually saved me money for a phone I enjoy more.

I was nervous when I jumped from my note 5 a week ago, at first i was more interested in jumping to the galaxy s6 edge plus.for me I always felt the note or edge series can do no wrong, but it felt like the whole time I was being cheated, never understood why til I seen the LG v10 I felt that way. LG is doing the whole more for less thing and I feel more justified paying $600 for a device

There is the fee but honestly if I keep the phone for a week and change I think it's fair. Better 50 and find another phone or 600 for a phone you aren't happy with. Kinda pissed the clerk at the store off when I told him that logic, forgot how much the people in tmobile stores rub me the wrong way till last night. Almost an hour to upgrade my phone, none of that was waiting it was all the sales stick after I said I just want the V10 and nothing else I even said I will pay full price for it right now if you will shut up.

Just started playing with it today it feels nicer then my note 4 and a bit quicker but could be I haven't brainraped this phone yet. But from feel and look alone I do think it seems a fair price for what I got and the free stuff LG is also a nice bonus. I hope development on this phone picks up to the same levels as the note did. Damn it samsung why did you have to take away my SD and battery.

2 visible white dot on the bottom of the lcd screen

-sigh- almost 4 weeks of ownership and already having an issue. I just noticed these 2 highly visible white dots (to the left) just above of the capacitive buttons on my lcd. Only visible on white background though but i call tmo and instructed me to get to a local store so they can have one of the reps to look at it before replacement (awesome). I'll take a pic of it later prior to visiting the store.
sorry for the image quality but here it is. I tried taking a few shots of and this happened to be the best shot. What do you guys think caused this?
i dont see it. use ms paint to circle them with red. i seriously dont see anything
I can see them. They look a bit like glares. I never seen this before. Hope you can get this replaced somehow.

ooooooohhhhhhhhhh i see this now. my friend has a large spot like this on his Evo 3d. comes from too much pressure being put there on the screen. at some point that part of the screen got pushed very hard.
Mine has the same issue! And this is one that I got via warranty exchange >_> There's no way in hell I'm paying another $10 for a warranty exchange, though.

yeah its those 2 highly visible glares or dot when you look really close to it.. i've taken it using my digital camera (which obviously takes crappy image btw) and although it may be hard to see by others on the monitor - it is really visible in person. I'm still a little confused as to how this developed.

it's been taken care of and the replacement device is on its way... thankfully it was still covered by warranty. Not sure why it wouldn't be since i just got the phone 4 weeks ago lol
which leads me to my next question.... In regards to warranty that is. Is it worth it to add a PHP (Premium Handset Protection) bundle? I mean, i remember when it used to be $5.99 (i believe) and i just noticed after ordering a replacement device - Tmo added that feature on my plan. Current cost is $7.99 which is still not bad but is it really worth it shelling out 8 bucks for something that can be prevented? I'm pretty anal when it comes to protecting my device (thanks to protective TPU case) and i hardly drop it by accident. However, "****" does happen to anyone when you least expect it. What do you guys think?
It can be worth it in case something happens like theft or out of warranty. But generally they offer you crap and try to say it's comparable.
Did they say you still have option for insurance? Generally unless you get it when the phone was new you can't add it on later

That's what i'm thinking but no, the rep never said anything or made any suggestions as far as adding it on my plan. I check my account frequently and that was the only time i discovered that it was added the day the replacement transaction was made. However, she did mention that even though my device was still covered by warranty, i was charged with $20 for device exchange since i didn't have the PHP feature added to my plan versus $5 bucks if i had it. -shrugs- eh its whatever. Atleast i know i'll have a brand spanking new device in a couple of days and HOPEFULLY.. yes.. hopefully... the annoying screen bleed on the bottom (normal build issue) with the device won't have it. lol
i just started a 2 year with tmobile and got the amaze for free. im wondering if this was a bad idea. i dont like the one phone because it lacks a dedicated camera button and some other stuff I dont like about it (its too thin actually). worst case I cancel for 200 and use this phone on straight talk until a better phone comes out I can start a new 2 year with.

that's a good point too... I too recently just switched from Individual plan to family plan (even though I'm the only one who's truly going to be using both devices) because i wanted this device (amaze) ever since its debut. Not a fan of One series either because of.. well.. a few things that i've come to expect on a high end device which lacks of... availability to expand storage, option to pull battery, dedicated cam shutter. To stay on point - isn't there a policy or something that after you cancelled your service there's a 1-3 month waiting period again before you can sign up???.. -shrugs-

[Q] Is it worth it?

Hey Guys
I'm moving back to the big red in about a week and I've had my eye on the note since it was first anounced internationally. I really want to know is it worth the hefty $300? I really want to get it and finally have a great smartphone, but I'm afraid that I'll hate it, or have buyer's remorse within the first couple months after. What do you guys think?
That all depends on what your looking for. I personally think this is the best phone ever (as long as we can get this bad boy unlocked which is looking pretty good). For me it was about size, I love the size of this phone but I completely understand those who think it's too big (there just wrong but it's okay) and then there's the spen I personally haven't used it that much but if you like it then there really isn't any other option. So if you want one or both of those then I'd say get it, if not than maybe the s3 or the dna might be a better choice(be careful with the dna though with the battery and sd situation).
I completely agree with everything he said, it is ridiculous the battery life this thing gets I'm a power user and I still have battery left the end of the day which is just nuts not to mention the phone is awesome.

I actually love the size of that thing, aha. I want it for the fact that it's a beast when it comes to processing power and screen size. I also like that I can also expand the memory on it. I was thinking about the DNA, but I'm coming back from the EVO lte, and I actually hated what HTC did to ICS, and I also don't trust that small battery with a 1080p screen running all day. So would you say it's a go?

If the size of the phone isn't a problem for you, then go for it. Keep in mind that Best Buy will match the price of Amazon, I got mine for $200.
I'm partial to the note but I will tell you the dna is a fast phone with a great cam and screen I have both. .. The dna however is going on ebay for Christmas money. . . It's all what you like and how much you want to spend... The battery isn't the downfall for me it is the memory but not everyone needs more then 10gb of memory

totally agree with everyone. its the best phone i ever owned and ive had alot. you will not regret it.
Actually still debating this myself, I already have the phone but am deciding if it's worth keeping and selling my Galaxy nexus or returning and keeping the nexus. The note is faster, has much better battery life and radios, but $850 is $850. I have until like January 2nd o chose so I will see what happens.
You get 14 days to decide, which I feel is plenty. I definitely think it's worth the $300 coming from my Incredible.

If you buy on contract, you only have 14 days to cancel an upgrade though. I've heard best buy or some other retailers give you more time to decide you want another phone, but you still have to keep a verizon smartphone contract after the 14 since that part is up to verizon. Since the OP said $300 I'm assuming he's buying it on contract.
Edit: To be clear that is what I've heard online, not from official sources. But I've heard people say Best Buy associates often make it seem you have the full 30 to completely back out when it's only to switch phones in the last 16.
I don't think the size of the phone is as gigantic and everyone makes it out to be. I have a size 29 waist and it fits fine in all of my pants even with the fairly bulky flip cover. The only issue I could think of is if you have small hands and mostly want to use it one-handed. I don't have any issue with this, and I found that typing one-handed isn't bad when you use the stock one-hand keyboard which shifts the keys toward one side of the screen.
If you get it from verizon the holiday return policy is good till jan 15 for any purchases after nov 27

Hi,
Why so much. I thought it was 699 off contract plus tax?
Thanks,
Bryan
I paid $700 for mine (So I can keep my unlimited data) and I still think it is worth it at that price. For as much as I use, what I use it for, and the battery life is amazing, I couldn't imagine having any other phone. The size of the phone becomes a nonfactor once you adjust to it. I know I will have this phone for quite awhile and look forward to what the next Galaxy Note has in store for us down the road.

I did the same thing for the same reason. I wanted the first note but that didn't come out on verizon and I'm glad it didn't. The extra GB of system memory really allows the note 2 to multi task. What blows me away is I can put the phone through the ringer and not have to charge it until I want to (when I go to bed).

my LOVELY Verizon corporate store experience today

so, i used to run a verizon franchise store for 2 years. we prided ourselves on excellent customer service, and just treating people great overall. i know what a headache corporate stores are, and how incompetent corporate employees tend to be, so when i worked there, i made myself fully aware of all aspects of each phone, and i helped people immensely.
i've had so many bad experiences at corporate stores, but today trumped them all.
so i ordered online, and all i had to literally do was go there on my lunch hour at work, let them activate it, then i would leave. that's it. it was paid for, and i was gonna do the ESN swap myself (bc i have unlimited data, and put it on another line.)
there's like 3 people in there. in front of me was this dumbass girl who took 15 minutes to decide if she wanted a white or black iphone. then, she spent 10 more minutes trying to get her parents on the phone to approve the upgrade. so by now, it's like 12:30. i have an hour lunch until 1, and i'm hoping it'll be dunzo in a few minutes.
i get called up, i tell him im just picking up, he gets it, activates it. i say, "don't do anything like put on screen protectors for me, just power it up please so it activates and then i can go, because i've got to be back to work at 1." he's like, sure no problem.
we activate it, great! i do one last screen test......bam. dust and dead pixels under the screen. i was like, you HAVE to be kidding me. so i say, man i'm incredibly sorry to have to do this, but look, there's problems with this screen. can we do an exchange?
he's like oh let me see...and he looks and can't see the issues at all. so he brings it to his manager. his manager spends time staring at it and is like, "there's absolutley NOHTING wrong with that phone. don't do an exchange." and i overhear this..i'm like um k..guy comes back, says "yeah sorry, we can't see it." i go, "man look, it's right there. see that speck of black? dead pixel. see those other specs? dust under the screen." he's like, oh..let me show him again.....
so he shows the manager, and this seriously goes on for 20 minutes. he kept saying "There's nothing wrong with that screen; there's no dead pixels. i have PERFECT vision, and there's nothing wrong wtih it."
so i walk over, and i go "look, pal, i have 20/20 vision. i've had phones with dead pixels before, and hell, my DNA right now has a dead pixel. i'm NOT living with antoher $600 device with dead pixels again, when i should be gettinga perfect device." and he's getting all mad at ME because i want a flawless screen. REALLY GUY?!
he keeps saying there's nothing wrong, and he has perfect vision. i'm going, "WHY would i make this up!?!? i JUST got the phone minutes ago, and saw a defect. WHY would i lie about a defect right in front of you? WHAT do i have to gain!? NOTHING!"
so he's all pissy and goes "ok whatever, this is a busy store, i have a busy store to run, i can't be sitting here looking at phones all damn day, just swap it out, i don't care." i say, okay thanks! lol...and then i ask the guy i was dealing with, so i can return this at any verizon store, not just this one, in case something is wrong with the next one right? he's like yea, but i mean, you only get 1 return and that's it. i'm like, seriously? what if it's defective? and the manager overhears and butts in with his 2 cents: "oh well, you know, we can't have you sitting here going through ALL of our stock and opening ever phone just to see if you found one you LIKE." i laughed and walked away.
seriously? what an ass. and THAT man was a manager of a corporate verizon store.
it then took like 20 more minutes JUST for them to swap it out. seriously. another 20 minutes to swap phones. at this point, i'm late back to work, and now i had to use MY OWN personal time from work because i was over a half hour late because these arrogant people wouldn't simply admit the customer was always right, which was our standard motto at my franchise store.
yet another reason to deal with the local businesses rather than going to corporate verizon; these people don't know a thing, and they don't care about a thing you want. you goto a small business franchise, and they actually care, because it's THEIR business.
so yeah, if you're ever in NJ, don't go to the Howell store on Route 9!
sorry for the book, but i had to vent

so he's all pissy and goes "ok whatever, this is a busy store, i have a busy store to run, i can't be sitting here looking at phones all damn day, just swap it out, i don't care." i say, okay thanks! lol...and then i ask the guy i was dealing with, so i can return this at any verizon store, not just this one, in case something is wrong with the next one right? he's like yea, but i mean, you only get 1 return and that's it. i'm like, seriously? what if it's defective? and the manager overhears and butts in with his 2 cents: "oh well, you know, we can't have you sitting here going through ALL of our stock and opening ever phone just to see if you found one you LIKE." i laughed and walked away.
seriously? what an ass. and THAT man was a manager of a corporate verizon store.
it then took like 20 more minutes JUST for them to swap it out. seriously. another 20 minutes to swap phones. at this point, i'm late back to work, and now i had to use MY OWN personal time from work because i was over a half hour late because these arrogant people wouldn't simply admit the customer was always right, which was our standard motto at my franchise store.
yet another reason to deal with the local businesses rather than going to corporate verizon; these people don't know a thing, and they don't care about a thing you want. you goto a small business franchise, and they actually care, because it's THEIR business.
so yeah, if you're ever in NJ, don't go to the Howell store on Route 9!
sorry for the book, but i had to vent

That sux. Nope, no home screen lag at all for me on AT&T.
The only lag I'm getting is from SwiftKey as I posted in the other thread. It's mostly when I'm in Hangouts with the keyboard up and I press the home button. Hangouts will close but SwiftKey stays on the screen for a few seconds.

I am glad u got ur lg g2 but I feel ur pain. I don't even try to deal with stores. They have no clue no matter what store from what provider u go. And I think no offense the Verizon lg G2 version isn't as good looking as the international or att version. But that is just my opinion. Enjoy ur g2. I THINK LG DEVICES are very good as of late and sadly underrated. I personally use lg since probably the last 2 years exclusive. It started with the lg 4x HD to the optimus g to the g pro. All very great devices. I am still not sure if I wanna get the G2 since non removable battery and storage always make me kinda turn away from devices. Nothing is more annoying to send or exchange a devices just because the battery went bad. But like I know myself I probably gonna get the G2 sooner then later lol

I had a horrible experience getting mine. I went to exchange my Motorola x for the g2 in a corporate store. They told me I had already done an exchange which I had on one of my lines. But the exchange I was doing wasn't on that line. So they told me I couldn't do it, and so I call customer care and they tell me that the system is saying I exchanged the phone when I switched two devices already on my account. So she says she's correcting the issue and the woman is on break and to come back in a half hour. So I wait a half hour and come back to the store about 45 minutes after and surprise! No fix. So I leave again empty handed and go to the store I originally wanted to go to. The customer service rep I called on the way told me to bring both phones on both lines to the store so I did. Turns out I get there and it took them literally 5 minutes to do the transaction and I didn't need my other line's phone. Absolutely ridiculous.

bam! thanks lol
yeah pretty much the manager was an asshat who didn't know what he was talking about, and was clearly blind despite saying "I HAVE PERFECT VISION" like 5 times. what a total douchebag. lol
typical verizon, i'll never be a verizon customer ever again. i dont care what their lte coverage is. just a terrible company.
So the dust issue makes me wonder - is the screen not infused like Samsung's?
Damn, that sucks! I picked up my G2 yesterday at a corporate AT&T store and was in and out within 10 minutes. Got a perfect, unwrapped G2 precious. They didn't even break the sim card from its plastic. Maybe it helped that I entered the store and said, "I want a G2 at full retail price, nothing else." Easily the most flawless buying experience for a most flawless phone

Similar here. Went in, upgraded a family member's line for my phone despite it being a non-LTE phone. Was in and out in 15 minutes. Couldn't have asked for a better experience especially after going to Best Buy and having the guy tell me that the line getting upgraded would be disconnected because it didn't have a LTE SIM card.

You would think it shouldn't be so a headache. But I honestly don't know why so much uneducated ppl work for cellphone companies. Like when I went to Verizon here by me today and they wanted to tell me to rather get a droid or S4 or wait for the freaking iPhone 5s. Hell no. I am with Att anyway. Yeah I know we can debate about what network is the best but that isn't the point. I was there to just look for myself on how different the Verizon version is and I didn't like it as much but that isn't the point either. It just makes me mad they wanna push u to something else and there r many ppl not as educated on phones like you and me and they will go with that the rep tells them and miss out on the best phone to date. It is a shame.

Went to a different Verizon store today to exchange my G2 and had a great experience. It took awhile, but the agent saw the issue I was experiencing and agreed that it was worth replacing (random brightness dim/brightening). Sadly, the new one has the same issue. He even agreed with me that the back of the phone was awful. Rare to find such an honest salesman @ VZW.
My old phone got really hot as well and this one doesn't get half as hot, so I may still keep it.

Shattered my S4 Screen

basically as the title says... I dropped my phone and shattered the screen at the top and bottom corners... it's still operable at the moment but it'll get worse over time. I have an upgrade available on my account that I can use or I could enter the Verizon edge program... I really don't know what i should do. it's obvious the edge program is only useful if I upgrade every ~12 months and I have a tendency to switch phones quite often but with a newborn son I may lose interest in upgrading/getting new phones so much... I'm mostly looking at the HTC M8 only because ive had the galaxy for a while and im ready for something other than touchwiz. use upgrade, pay 250 and sign another 2 year contract or enter Verizon edge program and pay nothing now and be able to upgrade again in a year... opinions?

any opinion on edge vs upgrade on 2 year contract? I was fortunate enough to keep my bootloader unlocked on my s4 too but it's still restricted development.
There's a ton of ROMs for an MDK s4. With all the unified AOSP ROMs now and the TW patches that allow for almost any Int'l ROMs I don't think there's ever been as many options as now. Just saying that's all. The M8 is cool too though

Edge is a huge waste of money. Over 2 years you spend approximately $1,100 more than you would by just using your one subsidized upgrade and buying/selling your phones off contract. I can find a breakdown I did with somebody else on here to explain the BS that is Edge.

lol I'd just order a new glass off Amazon for $20.00 but that's just me.
I've done it like 3 times on the S4 and 5-6 times on the S3.
I'm the IT guy for my company so I fix a lot of phones.
It takes patience but there are really good youtube videos out there showing how it's done.
I've got it down to about 45 minutes now.
If you have the skill, you can get new screen and digitizer for $150. That's what I did. There a lot of Youtube videos that shows how.
Yeah I thought about replacing it myself, I know I can... I think I'm just using it as an excuse to change phones ?
I do have the gpe ROM installed, actually love it. I'm just really intrigued by the build quality of the m8.

The new crop of phones are only incremental upgrades over the S4.
I'd say, fix your phone. Wait. Get something later toward the end of the year maybe.
For me, it's all full price anyway.
I have unlimited that I'm not giving it up until they take it.
I am about to replace a Galaxy S4's outer glass, just as many others have. The replacement parts are very cheap and atop of that you can take the phone from beat to mint if you put the time in. The outer trim (chrome) is what I want to replace as well but thats a tad more difficult I imagine. Anyway my advice on screen removal is to use a piece of clear tape on the cracked glass before using the heat gun. This will make removal easier and helps to prevent scratches or broken LCD/Digitizer.
last 2 that broke in my house I made profit fixing
I broke mine don't know how but I got a used one off of craigslist its easy to talk people down in price, I just swapped my mobo iin to that and put the new phones mobo in the broken one and sold the broken but still working one for 200 made a 50 dollar profit.
did the same when my sons friend broke my sons s4..

What ever phone you get, use a downloaded interface... such as Nova Prime. Yeah, it'll cost a few bucks to get into it, but you buy it once and then you use it on every phone you have after that. Why?
A> You learn one interface really really well. This means that over the years you become more comfortable and familiar with it.
B> It is heavily customizable so if you get tired of it, just change the way it looks. This can be kind of daunting if you want to completely customize it the moment you install it, but you don't have to. For me, the most important things were being able to change font sizes, icon sizes and icon spacing. This means I can see more of my background and less of my icons in the way. I make the screen fit me, not the other way around.
C> Once you have it set the way you love it, you wind up upgrading to a new phone... no big deal, you pop in your micro sd card or copy over a directory and you can restore your backed up launcher settings to the new phone. Pretty easy. Then the new phone looks and works much like the old phone did.
D> The customizations on something like Nova Launcher Prime are sick. You can change all the effects and it runs really smooth on my phones over the years. There are other really great launchers out there. I've tried a bunch of them, but nowhere near all of the big ones... so try something different. I stopped trying them when I got Nova Launcher Prime on a "Deal of the day" and I don't regret it.
I've tried using the stock launcher on the last three phones I've had and in 10 minutes I'm downloading Nova and putting it back on when I upgrade. Stock launchers have gotten better, but they are far behind the best custom launchers out there.
Thumbstarrepair.com fixed my wife's S4 for $50. Does it the correct way using LOCA and not cheap tape.

Samsung Note 7 faulty and replacement or had enough

This thread is for those who have received their note 7 and are returning it due to battery issue or other issues like build quality, screen scratching easily, lag etc
I'm still on pre-order and no sign of stock but i checked on CPW website uk and its stating date of 21st Oct.
Also those who like me still waiting for phone. I'm really considering cancelling my order and wait for Iphone 7 plus, Google pixel xl, Moto Z, LG V20 I hate it when a top end phone lags or isn't buttery smooth.
Would be interesting to know if you're waiting for replacement and how long is the wait? Also if change of mind and y and what will you purchase instead?
I'm in the uk BTW.

I'm returning mine because of the battery. I've found the phone to be excellent with absolutely no lag or stutter. In fact I'd go as far as go say it's smoother than my Nexus 6P which had thermal throttling performance problems. I'm waiting for a replacement from Samsung as this is the phone of the year for me. I believe the Exynos version the UK has is more fluent than the US Snapdragon version. Samsung told me it was a minimum of 3 weeks for a replacement.

Another interesting point, some who have tried to return product have been told to keep the phone until replacement. This includes amazon and cpw the reason I believe none of the retailers are willing to take the risk of a potential fire in their premises. Imagine having hundreds or even thousands of these phones just waiting to set on fire. Just in case if anyone was wondering.
Amazon is issuesing refunds and asking their customers to keep the phone until further notice, might be the case for some lucky buyers get refund and get to keep phone.

That makes sense must have deliberated between lawyers as who would be liable etc.
Risk of fire is probably very low but not worth taking risk.
all other competitors will be loving it especially apple, this all plays nicely into the hands of Apple. What timing.

I'll have to see this to believe it, the unit i tested in CPW stuttered lag. Even the reviewers on youtube all suggest there is lag.
I hate lag also and my Note 7 is great, I see no lag or stutter, no overheating. It runs great. I was worried about Touchwiz but it's fine.

Mine also is smooth as silk, its a great phone, i'll wait for a new one. I gave my details to samsung customer care yesterday. I also kept my old phone, while i wait, i change the option of fast charging to off. Also i charge phone when i am awake and keep a eye on it. Honesty it doesn't even heat up while charging. I also sometimes shut it off when charging sometimes. I am not worried that it will catch fire. I think the ones that have a problem would show symptoms, just like us when we have problems we have symptoms!

Thats a real bummer!!! Good news i would think it is still covered for a replacement! But according to corning glass it could happen 20% of the time and 80% it should be ok. maybe the angle it hits the ground and surface. I for sure have no expertise in these matters...But i feel for you and all of us that invested in this phone....we shouldn't be experiments for these large companies to test their products!
I returned for a refund and now am back using my Note5. But I will rebuy the Note7 once I am sure the battery issue is fixed.

How did Samsung mess up? Its a developing story and they responded as soon as they could. Do some of you sit anxiously waiting to catch your next breath??????
They've identified the issue within a couple of days and are working on a resolution plan which is why they are saying they'll contact us in the next week once stock and plans are understood!
The problem has been the messages coming from retailers and we all know they are full of sh.. just to get you off the phone!
Give them time. I'd rather this was managed that rushed with mistakes.
If you fancy an iphone then what are you doing on Android waiting for the note7. If you jump to the LG...good luck there. I've never even seen v10 in the UK! And how do you know they won't have an unlucky problem...**** happens

Do phones catch fire when turned off?
I'm sure the real reason for leaving phones with customers until exchange is that they know the risk is low so why inconvenience customers by taking their phones off them and potentially leaving them without and at the back of the queue having refunded them. It doesn't work.

Wow man. Easy tiger I think people have the right to be annoyed frustrated considering the nature of the problem. Battery exploding I mean it's pretty bad, yes they are trying to resolve the issue but people expect better especially when you fork out around £700.
As for sharing info, experience, sentiments and considering other options is nothing new. No one should feel threatened by it. This is the way of the world, it maybe not right or wrong but it's the way it is.
So dude join the discussion and take it easy.
