Thank you very much for your reply. You have just cleared my confusion.
I asked that question because there was a lot of conflicting answers about this topic on other social media sites and forums. Some are saying that only certain models have Gorilla glass while others are stating the opposite. With all the weird marketing plots that this company follows, we started doubting everything really.
Note: It is not mentioned at all in this link: http://www.vmall.my/honor-7.html - Maybe this is one reason behind the global confusion about this specific topic.

Yes, you're right about confusion. vmall.eu where I purchased mine doesn't state what the glass is. The Indian site doesn't, neither does the Chinese site.
So, still doesn't give a conclusive answer

After digging further into this mysterious topic, i found this link: http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/en/products-with-gorilla/huawei
Comparing the CPU names and numbers, does that mean that we do indeed have a Gorilla Glass with our PLK-L01 model? (Or this add to the overall confusion of this topic?).
So far, if someone asked me: "Does it have a Gorilla Glass?", i would mostly likely with: "If you believe so".

The Indian version of Honor 7 is PLK-UL00, and it doesn't have Gorilla Glass, which I confirmed by talking to Huawei Customer care person, and as far as I know the chinese version also is PLK-UL00 so that is why maybe both the sites doesn't have specified it. And BTW I tried scratching my device (PLK-L01) using keys with mild pressure, and it didn't got any marks.

My advice is that you don't believe the Huawei Customer care on their 1800 number link.
They are at best, data pushers, who only search a fixed database to answer your query.
I asked them about encrypting my phone (Enterprise requirement) and they said Settings > Security > Encrypt. Now Indian Honor 7 phones don't have this, though chinese and European phones have it.
Also, I don't think that Huawei would manufacture one version with Gorilla glass and another without. To think about it, it would add tremendous amount of complexity to the manufacturing process. I can understand that on the software part, but not on the hardware part. that would also mean that Huawei has to manufactire a certain number of phones for EU, a certain number for China and a certain number for India and so on.

So, what should we conclude? As the customer care person said that there is no Gorilla Glass, and Corning states otherwise.
Sent from my Honor 7

I am not saying that PLK UL00 has Gorilla Glass or it doesn't but just because the Customer Service Representative in India said it doesn't have, don't go by it.
I would rather go by the Corning Glass website.
My experience says that very few phones have hardware changes for a single model. Infact I have only known Samsung to do this. Some Galaxy S5 had a Sony sensor and some a Samsung sensor for the camera, if I remember correctly.

So, i think we should conclude that Huawei Honor 7 have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 as screen protection, on the basis of Corning website, and by my little experiment

I would go with Corning

Code:
Visually stunning, incredibly tough Corning® Gorilla® Glass enables today's sleekest smartphone, tablet, and PC designs, while providing exceptional damage resistance to the scratches and bumps of everyday use. Gorilla Glass is sensitive enough for today's most sophisticated touch applications, and is available with an easy-to-clean coating. The Honor 7 has a 5.2-inch full-HD display, featuring scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with Native Damage Resistance technology.

KIRIN 935 8-core CPU
I guess this could solve our troubles

Oneplus one or Xperia z2?

I just seen this phone and I really can't believe the specs of the phone for the price of £260 (16Gb) £290 (64gb).
It's not waterproof or dustproof but to be honest I don't really care cos none of my phone was neither.

We are talking about £300 cheaper phone with same specs. What do you think guys?

It has no stereo speakers and it is 2 mms wider than the Z2. Also, the battery is compared to the Z2's battery quite small, especially if u regard the larger screen and the faster cpu (2,5Ghz vs 2,3Ghz).

The One Plus One looks a bit tacky to me....I don't really like how the camera isn't flush with the body. And I prefer unibody.
Of course that price is awesome, but the size is ludicrous. Even the z2 is borderline size wise..
Unless Cupertino pulls something out of the bag this year (quite possible), xperia z2 is easily phone of the year for me.

Only cons aganist z2 is, not water or dust proof, wee bit smaller battery, no micro sim card slot and also glass body.
3100 mhz battery vs 3200 mhz not a big deal at all. that battery will last you whole day if you are not playing with your phone all the time.
external micro sim problem can be solved by paying £40 extra and get the 64gb version.
glass body for me is a con if you drop your phone it shatters and you cant use it.
if the z2 price down to £400 in august I can go for it otherwise will think about it

No hope for the LG G3?
Specs are one thing, but how it all performs is still an unknown. Could be super amazing or just good value.
I have used Cyanmod in my Samsung Galaxy note 2 it is supercool ROM and if you have those specs with that ROM it can fly you up to the sky. I was checking the price actually it doesnt even cost £249 or £299 it cost only £178 for 16gb £209 for the 64GB this is a bargain.
I will definitely give it a go once it is released.
Founder of the company is the ex vice president of Oppo. Oppo find 7a has got similar features but on system chip, memory and ram oneplus one beats it. and Oppo find 7a cost 400 euro which is £350.
This phone might sweep the market off.
If you check the link below you will see the OFFICIAL pricing which is an image taken from the Oneplus one invitation conference at 7:30 am this morning in beijing.
http://www.phonearena.com/news/OnePlus-One-release-date-and-price-unveiled_id55452
Still great prices though
OnePlus is doing a good thing by putting price pressure on the larger OEMs.
But looking at the differences with the Z2:
1. No IPxx certification.
2. Lesser camera
3. No MicroSD
4. Marginally smaller battery
5. Not sure how Google Play (and services like Chromecast) will work on their ROM
6. Not sure about device reliability and support from OnePlus
I would still rather pay a bit more for the Z2. But this is my own preference.
I think the 1+1 might have an IP cert because in their promo video it shows a bunch of phones being sprayed with water. This probably means the cert isn't as good as the Z2's IPX8 and I haven't seen what their official cert is (if indeed it exists at all), but they seem to be promoting it as at least water resistant.
Personally, the Z2 is about as large as I can handle, and the 1+1 is even larger and made by an unknown company, so I am sticking with the Z2.

The video you're referring to is quite misleading without any context. The clip may just be showing an oleophobic coating deposition process.

The OnePlus X has an SD 801 inside and less fancy hardware. Could be that OnePlus saved money on the hardware and innovation part.

Well, Mi5 has only one aluminium frame. They had to sacrifice rigidity of the phone to make it cheaper.
The phone has top components, though, so I think it's still one of the best Android phones (if not the best) in its price range.
Get a sleek looking case and you're fine. Since i live in Myanmar i payed the same price for it as they cost in China. So i have to handle it more careful then normal. Like a Chinese vase?
If you like rugged, get the Redmi Note 3 snapdragon. Fast, though and heavy.

And where is One Plus now? SD 820 and more expensive than the Mi5.
The time when one plus was a flagship killer are long gone. One Plus right now is too expensive to be budget, and too bad to be premium.
The difference is that the Mi5 is true budget, compared to the OP3.
What One Plus released now with the OP3 is: either go for budget SD 820 -> Mi5 or spend 50 to 100 USD more and get a real flagship over the OP3... don't bring one plus on board after the current release.
Don't live in the past, the OP1 is long gone and old.
Yet if you want to compare you may also compare stuff to the Nokia 3210, that's a "bend proof phone" ... yes I am kidding. Don't live in the past.
thx for clarifying.
I would like to give you +20 Experience and +5 Prestige for that, but I'm struggling to find those options on this not-so-advanced forum.
anyways, as far as I can see, this is present:
Mi5 vs OP3 - one breaks, another doesn't
so, there's absolutely no need to live in the past for anybody.

You can change the order, I've done it on mine. Just need to follow the instructions here: https://www.xda-developers.com/customise-the-navigation-bar-android-oreo/
You can remove the app once you've switched them and it stays the same . Now I just want someone to make a TWRP for this so I can change the video codec and I'll be happy.
Another thing i found is the colours are on the "cold" side, and i prefer warm. So what i did is put on night mode and put the intensity to minimum and voila!
The idea is from a review i saw on youtube.
Which color would look better on this model.. Black or white.. Any suggestions
It's a matter of taste, i like black.

I just received the phone, got it from Gearbest in a Flash Sale for 175 Euros. Added expedited delivery, so paid 180 in total. Delivered within a week! And no customs charges. Brucey bonus.
So far, I like it a LOT. It's only a smidge bigger than my Galaxy S7, but the screen is HUGE compared to it. And I love Android One - no bloat. It has some functionality I'd not seen before, I especially liked the "restore settings" from Google option, that literally put all my shizzle back.
The camera is probably the only downside, that's just not as responsive as the S7, it just takes that bit longer to focus, but to me that's no biggie, as I don't care all too much about photography.
The Snapdragon is nice & snappy (see what I did there?), and combined with 4GB of RAM & clean Android One, performance is excellent.
PS - I ordered the X6 International version, which, when started up, identifies itself as the 6.1. So if you order that one from Gearbest, you're good. Here's the link: https://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_009787976351.html?wid=1349303
Amazing that you can get a phone this good for so little money. And it's not a ridiculous 6.2" or bigger "phablet" either.

Apple has pathetic sales in India, so apple is more popular in USA and Europe but not in India?
Doesn't mean Apple is any less famous.

Oppo is very famous the world round. It's been in the mobile market since 2011 (from around the birth of Android) and they are a big player in the electronics world (mainly audio).
The problem we have is that too many are brainwashed by the "ideal" of Samsung and Apple. The two companies are highly adept in marketing and as such, their prices are sky high. Then we have better options from the Chinese market (big boys Huawei and Oneplus with the very quickly up and coming Xiaomi and Oppo brands).
Mention you have an Oppo Reno 10x Zoom to an iPhone 11 owner... you are laughed at and mocked. Mention it to a savvy person who knows technology...you are fist bumped and utterly respected.

Screen sensitivity is poor (on mine) waiting to hear from mine about returning it tbh.
Like the form factor. Coming from note 20 ultra it's not as slick. Not sure on whether to keep or go back to note.
My Duo 2 all okay. Frustrating no good cases yet. Need ability to lay it flat for note taking. Perhaps the Duo Surface Pen case will have a suitable lip all round?
