Problems with snapchat - Sony Xperia C5 Ultra

Hi guys
Just bought a new C5 Ultra on friday and work overall great. But now I´m having problem with snapchat. I´m not able to use the video recorder in snapchat, when I try it freezes and I get the following message:
"Snapchat was unable to open the camera. You may need to restart the application on your device"
I´ve tried to restart the phone several times but always get this problem.
What to do?
update - also now the camera doesn´t seem to work proberly

If you have enabled" OK Google" hotword from any screen, first disable it and then try using camera for recording

I had this exact same problem for a few weeks when I initially bought this phone. I tried the "OK Google" hotword method but to no avail.
The way I fixed Snapchat to record videos again on my phone was to free up storage space on my phone. I always have at least one gig of space free. Since doing this Snapchat is working normally.

Hey,
so my first problem is that Snapchat isnt working, because my Google Account cant get synced. But if i want to add a new or remove and add it again, google services just crash at the point where he checks all the stuff.
Haven't found a solution yet.
My second problem is that video playback isnt working after around 2 hours after restart. Just an error with "Can't play that video".
Thanks in advance!
Which firmware you have,is phone rooted, any mods installed?
Try to fresh install latest stock ftf for kit kat or lp via flashtool and set up those things again.
Hm....strange problem about video playback....

YouTube problem in z5c

I'm having this problem, is really annoying sometimes when I try to play videos on YouTube it says "There was a problem while playing. Touch to retry" I have to reboot my phone every single time that this happens, I don't know why, it's getting really annoying, what can I do?

I have the same problem.
suddenly, the camera stops working, and I get a message saying something like "the camera is in use by another application" message. and not in use by any application, or use a camera app third.
at the same time when the camera fails, if I put youtube I have the same error message, as if it had network, and you can not load the videos.
to me obliged to restart the terminal.
my phone is a compact Z5, yellow, it appears in the box 2.1 review.
bootloader currently open, had the installation stock, and to try to solve the problem I did a clean install of the latest version .200, with their wipes.
but the problem has resurfaced ...
any ideas?
Thank you, and happy holidays

I have the same camera problem. Also can't play videos on Twitter, either. It happens after a while, but the only solution I have found is to restart the device. Anyway it appears again after some time. It's really frustrating. I hope to find a solution to fix this. I'm in the latest firmware version. 200 and have an unlocked bootloader. Hope Sony fixes this in a future update. I'm waiting for a custom Rom also just to see if this problem disappears, but is a new device so I guess I'll have to wait. Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem.
Thanks, Happy holidays! [emoji2]

I can also confirm both of those problems, both YouTube and camera. I also have unlocked bootloader and I'm running .152 currently. Really.. REALLY annoying. I can also confirm that the streaming problem doesn't only affect YouTube, but some other apps too, for example video streaming on Relay for Reddit or Facebook videos.
I'm running stock (locked bootloader) and I have the problem with the Youtube app. In my case, it happens with specific videos. I thought the problem was just the site being weird, but looks like that's not it.

Yeah, it also happens on other apps, like twitter, everytime I try to play a video it says "content not available" as I said the only solution I've found is restart the device, but after some time, the problem comes back again. It's really annoying because I have to restart the device every time. But for now I'm using Chrome to play Youtube videos. Another problem I have is that I can't add chrome bookmarks on desktop, it shows empty even though i have many bookmarks (including Youtube) , so I have to open Chrome app and then access Youtube. Hope the marshmallow update fix all this. Because it's really frustrating

I was getting the YouTube issue on every video, but clearing the phone's cache (fastboot erase cache) seems to have solved it.

Thanks for this reply. I'll try wiping the cache tomorrow and will report back if it fixes the problem for me.
My cousin has the same issue on Z3 Compact, after updating to Lollipop. On Kitkat it was fine. So it's certainly not device specific.

Can you do this with an locked bootloader? A bit funny though, since we did a factory reset, which would erase the cache partition.

I cleared phone's cache via recovery but the problem appears again after a while. Is there a difference if I use fastboot command?

I see, no there's no difference. I presume it has to do something with the system, then just being easily fixable with clearing cache.

Sadly, it didn't work for me. The problem is still there. I really hope this gets fixed in the Marschmallow update, I hate that I have to keep rebooting my phone.
problem still persists. sigh.
This is good news for me, I rooted mine the day I got it and thought it was ad blocker hanging up or something. I have to restart a few times a day to get by it.
The accessing sim notification is the worst though. That I wish I could fix.
Has anyone been experiencing this with the MM?
I can't recall this happening for about two weeks now.
Option to fix temporary

Before to start, I need to make clear some points. 1) I dont speak english very well 2) I am not a programmer
The youtube problem I fixed deleting the app and installed an old version.
The problem with the camera what I did was, I installed MM, and I used the official Kernel to root but I didnt install the Xposed.
I hope it helps you guys.

I'm experiencing this with MM update (currently .182). Can't open youtube videos, take movies with camera, or use creative effects / sweep panorama etc. Reboot helps just for a while.
EDIT:
I discovered that problem with creative effects / sweep panorama is unrelated to video problems. After restart I can watch youtube videos and make movies with camera, but creative effects or any app related with taking photos doesn't work. Its interesting because 4k and Timeshift Video works. Any clues? Maybe i disabled too much preloaded apps, who knows.
I see that this thread hasn't been that active lately. Are you still experiencing this because I am, and it's pissing me off.

yup, I recently moved up to marshmallow and its still there. Ive tried every youtube version known to man and it still happens. I have to reboot so many times a day its ridiculous.
edit: I have noticed its linked to all video playback on the device, snapchat videos do not work without a reboot either.

Second screen crashes while in phone calls?

Hi,
Anybody else having a glitch where whenever you get a call or call out the second screen crashes after rooting? It's annoying since you can't slide to answer or hang up because the second screen crashed. Thx for the help!

Did you install Xposed Framework? If so, then you have to install the second screen fix for it, otherwise that will occur.
Link to second screen fix

That worked after I learned the hard way I couldn't use es file explorers download function to download those files haha.
Thx a ton!
Thanks, Ive been using xposed for a few days but apperantly havent used the "phone feature" ahhahahahaha
So now, after the fix my phone updates 2 android apps on every reboot....... Any fix for that?

Google.android.quicksearchboxindicator

Anybody can help me identify this issue.
Whenever I am trying to use my recorder, either audio or video. The box will come out saying (if I am trying to record a video) "camera is currently recording audio. com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox:interactor will not be able to record right now"
What is annoying, once the box comes out it will stop my recording.
Please shed some light anyone.
I am using a Huawei P9+
Thanks
Ok google interrupt with other audio services

I had the same issue with my Honor 8 and it would pop-up each time I was trying to record something w/ the video camera (that it ended up messing up some shots).
Long story short, I tried the following suggestion on YouTube:
but this tip didn't work for me... not sure if it's b/c I upgraded my Honor to Android 7.0 (I'm basing this off of my screen choices looking different than the video).
But then I tried the suggestion on this video:
,
and it finally seems to be working... NO MORE POP-UPs! Woo-hoo!
Hope this helps!
Video fixed pop up message but other issue occurred.

So your video got rid of the annoying pop up message, but I found out that this disabled the mic when using the voice commands "OK Google". I had to enable the Google Mic services again in order to use the Google Voice commands again, which caused the pop up message to show up again.

Can you try removing the Google search app and reinstalling? That may work in getting the mic service to work again while keeping the pop-up suppressed.

"ok google" screen off workaround ?

Hey,
So i was trying to get google assistant to get triggered when voicewakeup "ok Emy" is triggered, using tasker.
But, the google assistant is not responding to any question.... it just shows 3 dots (as typing) but does not give results. is there a way to get it to work ?
Thank you !!

I used smart unlock with my pebble to make my phone always unlocked. And then I use tasker to swap ok emy to ok google.
I set a quick "go to home" action and then launch google assistant. It works everytime when I wake up my phone with ok emy, but Huawei is **** at detecting ok emy (needs to shout 4-5 times before it could wake up....)

Thanks, Shady282! I am actually using the free Automate app but it should work the same. It isn't detecting the "sound trigger" in the title of the window.
Seems like I need to detect "Place*" instead according to this thread in the Automate forum: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!s...t:date/automate-user/QD1LX2px33I/UFaq398BBAAJ

The automate is able to detect text on the screen. For the keywords, you can use "*Place a call or find your phone“
I initially used the automate but later on turned to Tasker because it is faster and potentially consume less battery.
