Last, no one here is responsible of what you do with your device. This recovery is meant for only samsung A800I with exynos chipset. Once I got the phone I didnt find much help on how exactly to root the device and get custom rom loaded on it.
What bits and pieces of information I found was confusing... never the less after some reading I got to understand the basics of what needed to happen.
So here it is:

Steps to Install ClockworkMod Recovery on Galaxy S4 I9505
Step 1: Extract Odin 3.07 file using winrar/7zip/winzip or any other extracting tool.
Step 2: Switch off the Galaxy S4 I9505. Then boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home buttons together and then press the Power button until the device turns on. Now press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
Step 3: Launch Odin on the computer.
Step 4: Connect the Galaxy S4 I9505 to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn blue with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added.
Step 5: In Odin, click the PDA button and select the [RECOVERY PROVIDED] file.
Step 6: Verify that Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes are selected in Odin. Also, ensure the Re-Partition option in Odin is not selected.
Step 7: Double-check and click Start in Odin. The installation process will now begin.
Step 8: Once the installation process is completed, your phone will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.

At this point reboot the phone direclty in recovery by holding the VolUp button and pressing Power button until it vibrates.
You should see it power up and blue text appear in upper left corner " Recovery..."
if you don't pull the battery and try again.
You should see the familiar CWM Recovery appear.

I take no responsibility for damaged devices. If you are not ready to loose your phone possibly forever keep it stock.
It worked for me.
All systems are operating at this point.
Small glitch with having to restart BT after I walk away from my car and get back in it and trying to reconnect to it.
The IR Sensor doesn't work. I saw that the drivers are being implemented with some of the nighly builds.... so its not far from being operational.

Thanks for documenting your steps! I was running CM10 on my Epic 4G just before I switched over to the GS4 Developer Edition phone. I'm thinking of flashing it again.

the flashing of the recovery was a succes acording to odin.
giliwawa: Maybe your recovery.tar was corrupted... You can try another one, or come back to the stock one which can be extracted from a firmware update.

@Jawad Twam IDK if I used this guide to flash twrp recovery on my s7262 or not, cause it's been a long time.
I just wanted to ask why one can't get into recovery mode by pressing the hardware keys. Is it cause I installed twrp or is there anything else I'm missing? I did got into recovery mode through advance reboot in developers options tho. And download mode was working as well through hardware keys.

Maybe the recovery file you flashed, is corrupted. Also, what shows on screen after booting into recovery.?
@Yogesh1969 no it wasn't corrupted. I wasn't pressing the buttons in the right pattern, which I didn't even knew existed by going through the guides given online(even on xda's numerous posts). This video helped me out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MP-mglw46h4&t=83s
It's all about proper pattern and timing. And no one mentions it neither on XDA nor on any other website. I tried to find the video through google search but rather I got other BS videos than this helpful one. It's thanks to the history option in youtube I was able to locate it.
If you press all the buttons at the same time, nothing happens. But if you do the same thing in the case of download mode then it works. Like What?? Then when you flash a custom recovery or even root your device, the red warning symbol doesn't shows up on the top left corner of the screen when device boots up, making me to believe that whatever I was doing wasn't working. Unless you install a custom rom or a rom with a custom kernel, then only that warning sign shows up.
It's just all big steaming pile of sh** that samsung created and other forgot to address.

[Q] HardBricked Android (SIII Mini)

Hi XDA-developers, I have a SIII Mini and I flashed a custom rom but it failed, my phone restarted and now it won't charge or go on, I don't want to use the USB JIG way , so does anyone have a fix for a hardbricked S3 Mini?
Boot into download mode with vol down + home + power. Download your stock firmware from sammobile.com
Use ODIN to flash it. (ODIN has a thread here)
Note: Always add your tar.md5 file to the PDA section of ODIN. NOT Phone.
Thanks but its hardbricked

btw volume down+home+power button is called download mode. recovery mode is different. And also your tutorial mentions xposed uninstaller. how to use uninstaller if phone bootloops and we don't have twrp recovery? :/
Sorry, my fault. I have edit it to download mode. Thx for correcting.
I don't find any boot loop. And if you do, then you can try reflashing the phone back to stock.
the original recovery is still there.
you can as well install TWRP but you will find that red kernel error on boot (enforcing).
and you can only boot to TWRP by using NDR utils -- not with buttons.
its the 6th time am getting into bootloop

What is TWRP?
I quote
TWRP is an open source, community project. TWRP development is done by roughly 4 people at this point. We also have a large support community with many people who are willing to answer questions and help people with their devices either through our IRC channel or on forums like xda-developers.
Team Win was originally formed to work on porting WiMAX to CM7 for the HTC EVO 4G. After our work on the EVO 4G we wanted to work on a project that would work on more devices than just the EVO 4G and we settled on working on a recovery. Today TWRP is the leading custom recovery for Android phones.
WHAT IS THE USE OF INSTALLING TWRP?
TWRP is used for installing custom software on your device. This custom software can include smaller modifications like rooting your device or even replacing the firmware of the device with a completely custom "ROM" like OmniROM.
You can find the source code for TWRP at github.com/omnirom/android_bootable_recovery/

I have Odin v3.12, and it only has one AP button, but no PDA button.
I clicked on AP button in Odin, and selected the twrp image.tar file. Check.
Then you tell me to click on the AP button again and select the CWM file, but if I do that, then the twrp file is no longer selected.
I'm afraid to guess because even though it's old, I don't want to brick this thing.

To get TWRP on my device, I followed the instructions listed here: tab-4/orig-development/twrp-install-twrp-root-samsung-galaxy-t3111934
(I can't post links. Just put forum.xda-developers in front of that)
Instead of using TWRP 3.0.0 or 2.8, I used this newest verison with Odin 3.09 (instead of 3.12)
And it worked on my T230NU
"SOMEONE ANYONE" ...those mysterious instructions entries...
i probably qualify as an anyone, that is im doing this for the first time, though i have some experience with doing the same thing to my old HP Touchpad (tenderloin) device over and over again over the years, to keep it from throwing up alerts about apps stopping... So yes i was confused by the same glitches in the instructions since i dont want to brick my old tablet and try to follow instructions exactly:
A) in STEP 2:
"Device Added on ODIN"
>> no Odin doesnt actually print those words out, i think the op is sort of restating the sentence above it.
B) in STEP 3:
"Click on the AP button (PDA in many Odin versions) and select the CWM recovery file"
>> I think this is just a copy/paste error the op took from some other post and never cleaned up, presumably CWM refers to ClockWorkMod which is different recovery in itself, and i don't suspect you can have two recoveries installed, no? plus, its not mentioned anywhere else in this thread no link of anything, so i just ignored that line and proceeded according to the rest of the instructions.
C) STEP 4:

So I just ignored the items noted above, the only other thing i did that is different from this thread is i had previously installed the samsung USB drivers noted as seemingly important in other threads, i dont know if that matters since ive never tried it without them, but anyways, I hit 'start' and it worked fine and said PASS in about 5 seconds, then a bit later rebooted, but took a couple minutes to get out of the Samsung logo boot screen -i almost thought it was bricked for a moment there- but it finally came through and it all seems okay. so now i can reboot into TWRP and see all of its options, so now im ready to give a try to install the Pixelized OS!
For my T230NU, TWRP reboots (crashes) reliably in the middle of the wiping-the-cache process:
The TWRPs i tried are "twrp-3.0.0-0-degas.img.tar", "twrp-3.2.1-0-degas.img.tar" , "twrp-3.3.0-0-degas.img.tar"
I selected the usual four items to wipe: "Dalvic cache", "cache", "system", "Data"
(the built-in one-swipe factory-reset wipe crashes just the same)
I installed them all with Odin 3.12.3
This older version seems just fine: "openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-degas.tar"
Will this image work with Verizon Tablet SM-T537V?
Hey, will this work on degaswifi (regular SM-T230)?

Flashed it successfully on my SM-T230NU, however I am also experiencing a crash during a built-in wipe. I reverted back to v3.0.0 and it seems to be working as expected. Thanks,

Download TWRP version 3.2.1-0 from
http://www.mediafire.com/file/0bhuw8gw233c3wa/twrp-3.2.1-0-degas.img.tar
HOW DO I INSTALL THE RECOVERY?
1.Download Odin from http://www.mediafire.com/file/sbobzdpre78l569/Odin3_v3.12.3.zip
STEP 1:
Put your phone into download mode.
Press and hold these three buttons until you see a WARNING SCREEN! to enter into the Download mode:
Volume DOWN key + Power key + Home key
When you see the WARNING SCREEN press the volume UP key to continue into the Download mode.
STEP 2:
Open the ODIN application on your PC. Connect your phone(while it is still in the download mode) to the PC using a USB cable.
ODIN will show an Added! message on the message box.
Device Added on ODIN
STEP 3:
Click on the AP button on the ODIN application and select the twrp-x.x.x-x-codename.img.tar file.
Click on the AP button (PDA in many Odin versions) and select the CWM recovery file
STEP 4:
Select the appropriate options before flashing the recovery image.Make sure only the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked and all other boxes are un-checked.
Select the ODIN Options
STEP 5:
Select the Start button, which will start the flashing process. When you get the PASS message, then your phone will reboot automatically.
Click on Start and wait till it completes
Now your Samsung Device is flashed with the TWRP image and you may disconnect your phone. Your phone should restart by itself if not press and hold the power button. Boot into your recovery by holding together power-volume up-and home button.
HOW TO UPDATE YOUR RECOVERY?
Your TWRP recovery can be easily updated by flashing an image file. It's very simple and easy.
1.Download the latest version of twrp. Make sure it is a .img file
Download it from http://www.mediafire.com/file/1q0oq8s8yykcxov/twrp-3.2.1-0-degas.img
2.Boot into the TWRP recovery
3.Press on install and then press install image
4.Click on recovery
5.And follow the instructions and that's it.
If you found this helpful, please give me a thanks. Have a nice day. Enjoy

I have a SM-T230NU (nook). It freezes at boot after the "nook" logo screed is displayed. When I power down it immediately reboots to the same logo screen and again freezes. I can't turn it off without taking the back off and unplugging the battery. When I plug the battery back in after a few minutes, it stays off until I try to boot again and the same cycle repeats itself. Any ideas how to fix this.
