Any custom rom or pre-rooted ones for C5 ultra ? - Sony Xperia C5 Ultra

Hi everyone
Isn't there any custom rom or doesn't anyone want to make new pre-rooted roms for this beautiful device ? I really appreciate to those who could make any new mods , rooting and recovery options but still want to taste how that new custom rom runs on this C5 . Please please !!!

me too mate... it would be nice to use miui on this device...

im wondering why this phone has not any good support via developers
c5 is one of best phablets , isnt?

Hmm that's a good question.... i wonder why....

we would hire a developer orask someone and donate him.. it doesnt look good here... no one working, teamihackers seems to be stopped for a long time

That's why I sold my C5 Ultra many months ago. No development, no mods, hacks, no Android M, NOTHING...
Went and bought a Z2, not only being 30% cheaper but better in every possible way aside from screen size.
Seems the C5 Ultra didn't sell too good.

[Q] Stock Rom Tweaked? [Is it in demand] ETA: Tomorrow

Hello all Neo users
I have received my Neo and have the bootloader unlocked, I am wondering if anyone here would like a stock Tweaked Rom? Similar to the Wolfbreak one on x10
Let me know, because if there is then I will get started soon enough
I have no experience in developing but I am keen and have all necessary programs, cygwin, Ubuntu kitchen etc...
Best Regards
Thats good news.
Im first tester
Thanks buddy
Bit gutted with over 90 views and 1 comment
It won't look any different than the stock rom, but there will be some themes available from myself and maybe some Neo users if they want
I will start on it tomorrow afternoon, (little busy at work till then)
I'll let you know the progress
Regards
Thanks
I would also be interested in this rom. Quick question would I need to unlock my boot loader to install it? Thanks

And yes you would
Unless someone made a working recovery like xRecovery on x10... but I highly doubt that,
You can relock bootloader at any time anyway, there are tutorials and a video
Regards
I would be very interested in a striped down ROM with all the SE crap removed.

Very good idea
I am interesting also for the ROM something different. Good luck with your work.
Idea of a stock tweaked ROM is very good. I think, stock firmware are good, stick firmware with twicks better
If you know, the most popular ROM for Acer Liquid is t&l - lgcmn and trahelman had same idea and made the best ROM.
id welcome some tweaks as well (at least until we have a fully working cyanogenmod).
what i can think of:
- percent based battery indicator on status bar
- buttons to turn features (wifi, gps, etc) on/off on the status screen
thank you for the idea
I'm up for some of this too if the OP does do it.
I'm a bit jumpy about being a tester with rom's, but if its bug free and its clean and fast then its fine with me.
chill...............
awesome i loved the wolfbreak rom! and we have cmw recovery with DoomLords kernel. i would do this right away

Right guys just let you know I'm just having a feel about with some Tweaks myself before anything gets released for testing...
Thinned out a lot of apps too
For now there is no ETA
when there is a ETA I will call mods to close this thread and I will start a new one in Development section
Best Regards
Good luck for your work, will surely give it a try on my Neo!
Will be willing to test on my neo when you have something in development.
sounds great - one thing I think would be interseting is if the email program could be upgraded to one like on the samsung SII which lets you chose when peak/off-peak times to sync (so you dont get pinged at 3.30am!) - also 2.3.3 is a big flaky as a base ROM in terms of data sync - I have to re-boot daily at the moment..
there is one more thing i would welcome in a custom rom: currently it is not possible to set a different locale and language. i use all my devices in english language, but that also means i cant get date, time and other settings according to my locale (slovakia)
Hey guys I have Arc coming this week sometime so this will be supported for both therefore it will take longer :/
Neo will be first though
Not much time today to experiment Sunday should be a good day though

[Q] What is the best Custom ROM for Xperia X10 Mini pro

dear all what is the best X10 mini pro in the market where all the features working ?? please advice... thanks
Each rom has its strenghts and weakness. You should try each one and see wich suits you best.
I've tried Paul's ROM's, they're pretty good. Sonystyle and MiniCM7.
Now I'm using slade's GinTonic and I'm pretty satisfied with it.
I will also give Eyama's roms a try (GingerDX annd Flame.E).
Go ahead and test them, I'm pretty sure one will suit your needs.
I hope someday they could all work togheter and make something like "xda oficial rom".
Hi
sorry but I got one question:
Why is everybody askin what the best rom may be?
These roms all got there features (read them in the related threads)
and they all got there advantages and minor bugs.
Everybody has his own meaning about those,
so please go out there and get your own
experience
If you are really interested you should
invest some time to get a feeling for your device and roms.
Peace
And if you really wanna know,
just open on of the thousand other threads sayin "What is the best rom"

I Agree with you, man. But sometimes its hard to know where to begin. I didnt want to install a lot of roms and every time have to install all softwares and reconfigure my phone. Its like formating you computer every week. :/
I just came into this post cos I was waiting somebody had answered his answer. Cos the ROM i installed on my mini pro is not good and wifi is not working properly, now i am trying another rom that seem to be better, but its still beta, it means that ill have some problems (hopefully not) and ill have to at least install the final version.

Are you tryin Flame.E beta ?
If you read the bug section and the features
of the roms you're thinkin they fit with you/your phone
you'll see that there are for now with Gingerbread not that
many bugs and there not as many reboots as before
And installing a new rom isn't that hard
if you workin with your recovery backup
So just read the latest posts in the dev section about the roms
and it'll be fine
Peace
I tried GingerDX, Flame.E (by Eyama), SonyStyle and MiniCM7 Pro ( by Paul). All is great but the best for me is MiniCM7 Pro.

well guys, i asked this question for the same reason diegodacal said!
i wanna get rid of the stock ROM which is too slow and limited! i tried all the ROMs inside XDA related to X10 mini pro the issue is none of those ROMs is complete enough to continue with it. why developers in the X10 MINI Pro section don't combine their work and get one strong and bug free ROM version!
let's take as example of community work LINUX itself! the whole world Community is building Linux and now Linux is one of the most advanced and powerful OS!
i wish i can contribute with all other developers in XDA together united to build a super ROM for each device running Android.
for the moment, the best ROM that i tested it and found it somewhat suitable to my need but not fully functional is the GinTonic SE of Slade87.
To combine all the developer work
would be awesome, but this is left to the developers

You see it yourself
It's what I said.
Everybody needs another rom for him
For example me:
I love Flame.E by Eyama and I hope it gets to final version soon
Just read about the roms in the posts.
May take an hour but then you can decide by yourself
which rom you think fits you best

well man i'm all the time with the Open Source Programming as i'm also a Software Engineer and i know the benefit of Open Source. To have a strong open source software you need to combine efforts.
i wish the other developers here read this too. combining efforts i mean we all discuss what kernel and baseband we take for development and then start to develop our unified Roms all together around those requirements.
well do you think that MiniCM7 Pro is good enough to try it??
If you won't try, you don't know it ;-)

Why not Firefox Os, Ubuntu Touch, Tizen, etc.,

Hello friends, mates, our beloved & respected developers..
Even though our X10 being an old device today, it runs upto 4.2.2 & 4.3, All credits goes to our developers. :good::good::good:
I thank them all, behalf of all our X10 users.. For all their hard work and time for all these wonders happening even today..
Its a joy n fun thing (my personal opinion, no harms) using n trying lot of variations of custom roms :silly:
Now coming to point..
As we all know, the final official update was Gingerbread. Ever since then our devs have been supporting through all these custom roms n kernels which all works wonders on our X10.
But the major n minor bugs still persists without a proper solution till now.. For ex: camcorder, wifi tether bugs. (May be its not important for daily use, but still its a bug and those features may be useful at times..)
I just started moving my mind over newer emerging OS like Ubuntu touch, Firefox OS, Tizen, etc.,
(I am not a developer, I just know to use custom roms & love them, thats it).
Just curious to know things about other OS, like if it is possible to port them to our X10, what may be the requirements, what may be advantages n disadvantages (if any) etc., etc.,
So friends, mates, our Respected Developers, please do share your infos..
Thank u all.. Love u all.. :good: :victory:

i am agreed with u mate. i own a x10i since 2010 and i love it. i started my android experience and development from this x10 and i really like to see a new development for this phone. its a beast.

Me too own this from 2010 sept. i love this phone except for 2 things..
1. Total ram is low ( of course our devs made wonders over gb. even jb works very well even though its shouldn't be in our device.. :highfive: )
2. No official updates after 2.3, i hope thats the reason behind camcorder issues in ics, jb roms, i read somewhere stating similar to this.
I don't know y our devs didn't take interest in other OSs.. Some strong reasons will be there.. We may understand if the devs respond and clear our doubts over these

[Q] ROM support?

Hey guys, I recently got the xperia Z2 over the HTC One M8 to test out before I commit to buying it and having looked on XDA, I can't help but get feeling his phone won't have a great ammount of ROM support from most developers, at least not for a while. Am I wrong in thinking so? I also read somewhere that rooting or unlocking triggers some DRM stuff and things like x-reality stop working. Is this true? If so, what's the point? I though Sony was trying to be more developer friendly? If anyone could answer some of these questions I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm not asking for an ETA on ROMs just that I don't see a massive Sony market in the US and so I feel like it will be lacking in terms of choice. If that is the case and especially if i cannot convert to a GPE equvialent or something then at this point would the HTC one M8 be a better choice?
I also got the Z2 because i liked the phone way better then S5 and M8 but am also worried about developer support. I also got Z which now has quit some support but still not as much as i was used to have on my HTC's.
Phone had a lot of dificulties at launch, late release and stuff, its not even worldwide available yet, but yeah, development wont be as active as s5 or m8, but i prefer quality over quantity, so what if s5 has 10 exactly same roms with different name, you will get all major roms since its one of the currently big 3 phones.

Yeah exactly. I am more worried about the DRM stuff and the fact that I do like stock android so I may want to convert to GPE; in your opinion, is the ROM scene for the M8 worth swapping this phone for?
Thanks niaboc! but do you truthfully think I should wait and do you think there will be a good enough amount of mods etc? Also what about the DRM stuff?

This is great news! I've been missing your Existenz Roms from my Z!
No argument there, the phone did have launch issues definitely. I understand your quality over quantity issue but 3 ROMs I need without fail are PA, Slimkat and a Google play edition; especially the GPE. Do you think that will happen truthfully? On the M8 it already has and its a matter of flashing it now really. I feel like if I choose the Z2 and wait and the experience isn't good then I may be disappointed quite a lot no matter how great the phone is and I'm worried about that seeing as it is an expensive investment!
Drm seems to be a problem of past. I unlocked bootloader, lost drm keys, and only thing i lost is music and video unlimitted service, which i wasnt using anyways. Its your choice, we cannot see future and tell how many roms gonna be here compared to m8, but im sure its gonna be plenty for my needs. I bought z2 and m8, and they both are briliant, but as you can see im using z2 now, while my father got m8. Only real advantage in m8 for me was feeling you get holding it, that shape is amazingly comfortable.

What's the point to have 300 roms who are nearly identicals.

Hmm. You make a good point and I will definitely take that into account. Others are reporting loss of x-reality and features like that which I don't want to be restricted on if I root and unlock my boot loader. As for the M8 you're right it does have an incredible body but the Z2 in white looks so amazing!
Fair enough! I have this phone till the 26th so if it looks good by then, I may keep it! The DRM stuff, I dunno I'll have to deal with it I guess! Thanks!

Hey there im new! Help a brother out? Elephone s8 ROM

Okay.. So here goes..
Elephone s8 purchased 2 months ago.. I'm with you guys when I see the frustration all you guys have with this phone..
You may have noticed this morning that Elephone has released not such an update but a patch so to say.
I Really dont want nor trust this company.. Its an unofficial update that will probably be aload of rubbish anyway.
Now I have been looking at skeletons ROM on here.. is it good? do you still use it? Is there anything new since?
Im just fed up and hoping you guys can shed some light.. Im petrified on where to start to even flash my phone as ive read up about devices being'bricked'? but willing to just to get something that is sufficient.
I merely ask as you guys are the guys to ask.. The leaders IMO in everything android.
Any information would be greatly appreciated
Eragon is already dead. Skeleton has abandoned the project so no updates has been made since his last one.
I have not tried it nor the custom rom that was released on Elephone forums.

I suggest just using AEROM. Aerom is better than stock and Eragon. Aerom will be updated soon. And aerom fixed lot of bugs.

Erikki123 man I hope you're right.
how do you know about the update? can you share a link?
we're really hoping for oreo here for more than a year
You can download the new rom here but I wouldn't recommend it:
https://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-14242-1-1.html
I have tried all three roms but the stock rom worked best for me. Additionally I flashed twrp and installed supersu for root.
I don't expect any future updates for the AEROM. I think they brought this out as kind of compensation because there will be no android 8 for this device. For me it caused more problems than it solved but experiences may be different on this special phone.
Edit: link corrected
I have tried all three too, and for now I stick to Eragon anyway.
I have contacted Elephone and can confirm that S8 and P8 are officially "dead", indeed.
That's disappointing, mainly because Elephone had started a campaign a year ago (or so) and promised at least two years of support from then on.
But then I have known Elephone from their previous flagships, owning both M3 and P9000, so I'm not really surprised.
But then they did a MUCH better job at bugfixing with M3/P9000 than thay did with S8. At least P8 is running rather flawlessly.
Please also find all required files for rooting the Elephone S8 at:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/k1ldc..._root.rar/file
I hope this helps.
