Problem getting bootloader unlock code - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First, I try to log in with my usual Huawei ID. It doesn't allow me. I try to get my password back, they send me an email in Chinese with a link to restore my password, I click on that link and the web does not exist.
Then I created a new account. I finally logged in! But, when I was typing my phone information (IMEI, serial number, etc) and when I finally clicked on the submit code buton, it said the following:
The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days.
Any ideas with that?

Hi,
I can tell you I tried during months on the website and always got the same error code as you. Then I used DC unlocked, it cost me 7€ I think and I got the code in 4 minutes. It saved me a lot of time, so don't hesitate. Please have a look at a tutorial where they talk about the official and unofficial method. That's the unofficial method which works great.

never again huawei!,because I have to pay to have the code!??????? , ****!

To pay 7€? Are you kidding me? For a phone that you got at least 50€ less expensive versus the competitors...

This means that the registration on Huawei website must be "old" at least 14 days. If you can wait 14 days, you will can get your unlock code without further problems.
This doesn't means that I agree with Huawei statements.
Hope this can help you.

I waited 60 days , I think are sufficient....

Certainly, a problem is occurring. I'm reporting mine experience that was positive, at 15th day I was able to generate the code and next to unlock the phone.
The message was still the same ?

yes,the message is alwais the same
The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days
ciao

Hi,
I can tell you for sure you will never get the unlock code from the huawei website. I tried for 4 months i think. I tried with my huawei account linked to facebook, i tried with a new user account not linked to facebook, I alsways made sude the huawei ID was connected on the phone, I got in contact with Huawei club also which only warned me about the risks of rooting the phone, etc.
I still don't figure out why it worked for some and why not for some others, but paying 4 or 7€ definitely saved me a lot of additional headaches.

Hey guys, thank you for your comments, I tried yesterday in Huawei's website and it worked, I'm not sure I will use it yet, but I've noted it just in case^^

Unfortunately you cannot get another persons unlockcode.bin as these keys are unique to each phone. (As far as i know) If someone knows any different please shed some light on this. Now I got some good news and bad news. Good news is that it isn't you. Bad news is that there's issues with the dev site. Users have reported that it takes a long time to get their unlock codes. Unfortunately there's no way around this. Keep ttrying. Eventually it'll go through. Good luck.

Alright, thanks for the update and info. I will keep trying!
Clear the cookies and cache of you internet browser, And try again. It usually helped me with the site.
After I had my phone in for repair yesterday, I had to unlock the bootloader all over again. I went to HTC DEV and put in my code.
I'm still waiting on the emails. I tried about 7 times, attempting to get a new unlock_bin each time, and still have not gotten 1 email. I think they are experiencing a problem with their mail server. It wasn't in my junk mail or anything.
Try again later today, it may have corrected itself. I found an old unlock_bin that worked for me from a previous unlock.

I'm getting a new one today and will be going through this same thing apparently, I still have my old unlock code as well, But i'm pretty sure that wont work...
It wont send me the damn code either.
And I'm very experienced with this process, I've done it probably 10 times.
It just wont send.

[Q] Purchased a used Nexus 9 and now having issues

Purchased a used Nexus 9 on Ebay factory reconditioned.
Unit's arrived with someone's email info associated with it.
Factory reset within Android seems to do not much of anything, I haven't done anything in recovery yet as I read that might require the registered owner's password.
Tried to unlock the bootloader so I could flash a fresh image but getting that permission is denied
What steps do I need to take to remove the other user, make myself the owner, unlock the bootloader, and rid myself of them? I'm about to email the person who's listed as the owner and see if they're willing to help in the event I need them to do something
Thanks!
What happens when you remove their email from Accounts in settings?

That's a new security feature in 5.1. You either need to get the former owner's username and password, or return it for a refund.

It's running 5.0.1
Just talked with Google support - man they're easy to contact as a note. He said since 5.0.x didn't have the feature that locks the username and password in through a HBoot factory reset so to try it there. I'm at minute 9 of waiting for the thing to reboot to see if it worked or if it's going to ask me for a password.
We shall see however
After two hours it didn't boot. Got into recovery, factory reset doesn't seem to work, plenty of errors about trying to delete folders.
Took Google's suggestion and downloaded an image that was still in the 5.0.x range and tried flashing it ... get nothing but errors PU-FAIL
Noticed the hboot version number was for the WiFi, was sold it as an LTE/CDMA... downloaded the correct WiFi-only stuff, flashing fails.
It updates BCM, then PU-FAIL and something else on everything else.
Unit doesn't boot any more.. just sits at the spinning balls screen.
Think I got a lemon...
Managed to get it to mostly flash 5.0.2 - first part flashes fine, second part fails on .sig missing, extracted and flashed everything individually - cache failed a few times, few times it flashed fine, always throws up errors in recovery that it can't write it.
I'm beginning the believe the unit was refurbed and they missed a bad EMMC

Return it. Never buy electronics on ebay...there is no official warranty and after 60 days, the buyer protection of paypal terminates so you have no leverage with the seller in case of problems. Also, seller refurbished items are the worst as they repair things with no finesse and dont usually do a very good job of diagnosing the issue or replace with cheap parts. I have a lot of experience in refurbishing as I am a Samsung trained technician that works for a major Canadian retailer that has licensed repair centers across the country. I often try to make money on the side by buying broken Samsung phones and tablets and going through official channels to get replacement parts. Official replacement parts are more expensive but I get them at wholesale cost. What I have learned in my years of dealing with replacement parts is that a lot of those that use chinese replacement parts often end up with more problems than they had...you often see that in screen replacements, some of the quickest and high profit margins, using chinese parts will leave you with problems such as undercalibrated screens, low precision digitizers, backlight bleeding, and such. eBay is the biggest market for those parts and a high percentage of sellers on these channels make a living off those repairs. In any case, bad idea.
Yup, initiated a return. Wasn't what I ordered (ordered LTE/CDMA version, got WiFi), bad EMMC. as far as I can tell - I can flash 5.0.2 but always getting cache errors on clear and never able to do anything.
After a few more flashing experiences I found that I had about a 90% chance of successfully flashing a partition and about a 70% chance of getting into recovery.
These of course should have been 100%.
Thing's boxed up, sitting with a return label on it in the outgoing mailbox at work. Ah well, was interesting being a nexus owner if only for a couple of days

Trying to unlock bootloader -- Can't register on Huawei website!

I can't register on the website because it's taking a really really long time to load the website. I've tried different browser with the same result... Can someone let me borrow their account/ do it for me so I can get my unlock code?

Same issue for me since Wed last week! I am beginning to think that $200 just doesn't buy as much company support as $600 does.... Will probably sell the device if I can't get the bootloader unlocked soon.

This has been happening since the day the phones came out. The good thing is that you only have to unlock one time. After a month with this phone, I am very happy with it. So don't let the unlock website ruin the phone for you. The rumor is that they run their website with hamsters, they probably tire easily. Small price to pay for such a cheap phone with such good specs.
I like the fact that Huawei has gone out of their way to tell developers how to unlock things and mess with things. Even one of their company reps has posted several times that he will give advice for those making mods.
Hello,
I had problems with the website as well - registering was fine, but the unlock part was always "busy".
I got my code by using the chinese part of the site - horribly slow, but it works.

Hello, that won't do it, only the unlock does.
Unlocking the bootloader won't prevent OTA updates.
But custom recovery, like TWRP will. You will have to go back to stock before installing updates.

Not sure, if it's the same issue, but I think everyone has been misinterpreting the 14 days warning. What it says is the ID "has not been used on the phone for more than 14 days." While most people have understood that to mean "you have to have used the phone for 14 days," what I discovered it probably actually meant was "The ID you put in here has not been used on this phone for over 14 days" or, in my case "has never been used on this phone." I think the hard stop is trying to prevent granting unlock codes to inactive users, not new users. The second part of the equation is that the ID with which you log in has to be in some way tied to your phone. I had tried to log in with Facebook because my email registration had screwed up. I was getting that error because I hadn't used that Facebook account on my phone. So I downloaded the Facebook app, logged in with my account, and tried again. This time it worked!
TL;DR: Make sure you log into Huawei site using an ID (phone number, email address) that is actively tied to some account on your phone, be it Google, Facebook, etc, and you should get past the 14 days error.

I have created Huawei account using my yahoo email
Have installed Facebook app and login using the same yahoo email
Have installed yahoo mail app with same yahoo email
I still see the message
"The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days."
I was thinking of that in the same was as you @ultimahwhat thought, in previous two days in have installed almost every app published by Huawei and login using the same Huawei account by thinking it may identify my ID as "used in the device" still no luck.
Even I reset my phone to see if I missed something in initial setup like if I have skipped any Huawei login process in the setup process, but there is no such step in the initial setup.
So actually very disappointed and reall have no idea of what they say.
Feel like I would never buy any Huawei device again and never recommend Huawei to anyone.
This is gonna be my first and last Huawei device.
Dear @wimbet
Can you please explain what Huawei actually mean by that 14 days message and what Huawei expect user to perform for obtaining the unlock code as there is a big confusion in this matter?
I am very thankful for any information.

Help with erecovery please and thank you

So i was just driving and my new mate 10 ALP-L29 which i bought from Europe as im in US just went into a bootloop about two weeks ago. Can get to erecovery but this is my first Huawei device, well second as i had the mate 9 but for a month and then got this so i didn't even root it. But this one i bootloader unlocked and rooted and thats it. I didn't get a auto factory update that i'm aware of as I'm Almost positive i disabled it. Also cant use Hisuite or whatever its called as i disabled HDB(think its called that but you know what i mean) so i could use fastboot properly on windows 10 due to the driver issues and had to disable to unlock. I borrowed a windows laptop because i run linux and my win 7 vm wasnt recognizing the device and honestly got lazy and didnt feel like fixing and borrowed a friends windows box just to try real quick. Ive been a private phone dev since android came out. Never released anything here because its just a hobby. I know my way through an android device as well as anyone could. So i know what i'm doing and never had a problem except with this (hopeully not perm brick)Huawei right now. I Bricked maybe one phone in the beginning days of android in my learning quest and any other close call to full brick i fixed but its been many years since then and will always be learning but am very efficient repairing and coding android. So in my quest to fix I Changed 3 different routers DNS settings(one at a time as none worked and i wanted to try all of my routers)to recommended ones for getting erecovery to work from online guides but it always connected but failed to get package info multiple times with dozens of tries with router hoping it was an issue. Used 2.5 and 5 ghz and manually picked channels and a few DNS setups i found to try. None worked. Obviously tried wiping data and forced firmware flash by putting udate.app and files from the extracted full ota firmware packages tar.gz files from funky huawei and other sites including Huawei. Tried multiple ones. none worked Paid with every inch of hatred put aside for people that advertise on XDA which is against rules and turn a profit as this is an open source community and i cant believe xda allows it. So that pay service, funkyhuawei, did not work and will not pay 50$ again because its been 2 weeks and no helpful response from said actor. anybody run into this and hopefully its my lack of huawei experience thats the problem. DNS was also changed per FH instructions and ERecov didn't work for the FH repair either as well as his hisuite method also. EMMC is ok. It did not fail from what my tests concluded. Huawei have horrible policyies as it shouldn't matter where in the world your are. People buy a product they shouldn't make you jump through hoops to get help and void warranty if you are in unsupported country. Any help appreciated. Love this phone but ive had over 50 android phones since the start from every other manufacturer. And they really make it difficult to get help. again phone just bootloops and will eventually boot to erecovery and stop. ITs a ALP-L29 again and it just happened while driving as i took out of pocket it was at erecovery and since then will bootloop about 3 times and finally end there at ERecov. thanks
If you sent an email to FunkyHuawei support, we didn't receive it. Maybe you should email again.
Honestly i cant be a part of that. Im still mad at myself for breaking my own code. cant and wont support pay service. And if your gonna charge. Id rather make a phone call. Im good on email and waitng around for back and forth when a phone call could solve in a minute. gonna charge you should have a support line number. thanks though.. I get you have to charge for overhead, but i find it hard to believe one person or group of is the only people intelligent enough to mod huawei devices. Pretty positive its/your huawei under the FH name just making extra money. thanks though. I assure you i sent multiple messages. thanks anyway.

Unlocking bootloader immediately

Hi all!
I got this nice phone yesterday. I made a Mi account about 3 month ago, hoping that when i get the phone i can unlock it immediately. Sadly, MiFlash Unlock said that "You need to wait 360 hours..." etc.
But i found a way that could unlock immediately. :good:
- First of all, you need to download latest MiFlash Unlock. Get it here. (You need to update it in the app itself, just to be sure you have the latest version.)
- Sign in, Install latest drivers, connect Mi account & device etc.
- Go for unlocking, to the point where it says "You need to wait..."
Now the fun part:
I was reading guides and stuff in this forum, where i found a thread about 360 hours of waiting. There was a comment by @arddy1 (Thank you) which solved this issue.
- Download this MiFlash Unlock tool (This is an older version.)
- Sign in, go for unlocking (It'll still wipe everything so make backups)
- Reboot
- Enjoy
It's not 100% working but you can give it a try.
Hope i helped! Happy flashing :good:
So you're able to unlock instantly with that mi unlock right? Are you sure you have not waited 360h before?
In my case, that mi unlock version didnt make me unlock immediately, but to skip additional waiting hours. I still need to wait 360h before can unlocking.
I heard some old or admin mi account can unlock instantly. In your case, I dont know how it works. For normal account, normally you need to wait 360h on whatever any mi unlock version.

I wonder how it worked for me :|
according to my theoretical & practical research old tricks like using old miflash, old account do not work. i used also this version with veteran account and it didn't decrease waiting time by a nanosecond. the only trick still working is when xiaomi gives you extra ~3 days to wait as a bonus for not using the device (who would use non-rooted device?), you can skip it with old miflash.

I've ordered one, should be here Saturday. Given that, I'm reading where you basically have to use the device during that 15 days? I'd honestly prefer not to until I can set it up how I prefer, from what you gather, using the old version will allow that?

Good attitude. I'm strict too and i didn't use the device at all, and also borrowed SIM card for the registration process. So i got penalty 3 extra days for not providing Spyaomi enough of profiling data I can imagine excited sheep, having privacy in mind as last priority, will use the phone most actively during the first days, which is perfect for them.
You don't need to do it. After 15 days, get a bail from extra jail with old miflash. Just make sure to keep the account, i switched, and the countdown started over. After oem unlock, you can delete the account from phone, then delete it from the xiaomi website. Bye bye:victory:
