OTA Update after root - Blu Vivo 5

I rooted this cellphone since the day one with the tutorial in this forum. Now, I got a notification about an update to improve FM radio, it's not much heavy (only 97mb or so) but my questions is
If I install this update, can I lose the root? or will I have problems with the system?
I hope you can help me with this question. Thanks in advance.
(BTW sorry for my english :v)

Once you root you will not be able to update. Even if you unroot. You will get a message about the system being broke

[Q] help! help!

hi guys! I am in desperate need of assistance. I am on vacation and my internet connection is absoutely horrible. I need to root my htc thunderbolt so I can start using the wifi tether app. I have read and read and read some more and watched several videos. My problem is not the rooting part. I have flashed firmware before and rooted once before some time ago. I can follow directions very easily. I do not know which files to download to root my phone. There are so many and I dont want to download old versions. my android version is 2.3.4
my sense version is 2.1
my software is 2.11.605.5
please either tell me which root file is the best or post a link. I will appreciate it very much. Happy Holidays
Use revolution to root...it has all the files u need to help root

How to get rid of OTA update without installing it?

A bit of a nooby question, but I've never come across it or had to do it before.
I know I could flash a custom ROM but nothing quite stands out just yet, waiting for S3 USA release. There should be a lot more action on the ROM side then.
But at the moment I'm on stock, rooted and woke up with an update on my phone yesterday. From what I've read there's 2 updates 1 after the other and 1's a new kernel. I'd rather not update and root again if there's a simple way of removing the update e.g. like say delete a file from somewhere. After all my phone's running 100% as is.
Anyone know the answer? Its bugging me now, you can only perspone it for 3 hours at a time.
If I don't get rid of it by tomorrow I'm going to reaserch if i can just update over a rooted stock ROM. Find out about the new kernel build make sure I can root after updating and reluctantly update.
Thanks in advance
Marc

Hi mate
I have the same problem and can't get rid of the OTA update available message, if you find a solution then please post.
Many thanks!!
download the 'update' from sammobile.com it's the LF2 rom, install with mobile odin and tell it to keep root.... problem solved
I just used titanium backup to delete the updater. Seems to be working fine for now.

Official update Jelly Bean

Hello. I have a Galaxy S3 and received updates today officially jelly bean. My phone has done root. If you install the update, something will happen "bad"? Considering that I did root and not the original files .. wait a reply. Thanks !
I think, root access will be void, and you have now on complete stock rom
Can I undo the update somehow this operation? I gave reminder in 3 hours, but I do not want to go to the root of the jelly bean because it is very much useful.
Up!

The update will probably remove root. But you can re-root your phone afterwards using CF-Autoroot or one of those other Toolkits afterwards.
Since you are root at the moment you might want to backup your data with Titanium Backup or a similar app. Just in case.

If you update via OTA after rooting, you WILL lose root. You may however root it again (provided rooting methods are available for the newer software version). You may or may not lose your apps (depending on the type of OTA update) after the update. So make sure to do a good backup first!
Flashing a custom ROM will almost always require you to do a full wipe (or format) of your phone, which will remove all your apps as well as personal data (excluding your files). You DON'T NEED to root custom ROMs, they are already rooted.
And yes, you have asked in the right place.
So thank yoi very much for ykir reply and thank you for ur time
I am happy i ask in right place of the forum
MERRY XMASS TO ALL !

Question about Installing android 4.4.3 on rooted N5.

Hello,
I currently own a rooted/unlocked Nexus 5 smartphone and my carrier just pushed me the new android 4.4.3 update and it's been a while since I've been in this situation (get update while running andoird with root access).
My questions are the following:
- If I remeber well from last time I had this situation with my galaxy nexus, installing 4.4.3 will not harm my phone, it will still be unlocked, no data will be lost but I won't have root access anymore nor be able to use apps that require root. Is this correct?
- Is there a way (or will there be a way that I should patiently wait for) to get the 4.4.3 update, whithout loosing data or root access? Last time, I installed the pushed update, lost root, had to wait for the tool I used to be updated, then had to root the phone again and lost all the data (yes I saved most of it but still is a pain in the arse to redo everything).
I am aware that the version just came out and I have no problem waiting for amazing devs to do their mojo, I was just wondering if updating rooted versions was possible without data loss and I should wait for it or if I will have to root the phone again ^^.
Thanks in advance for your answers
