Best pictures quality RDN4 vs LG G5 - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Good morning to everyone. As I wrote yesterday, I prepared a mini photo quality comparison between rdn4 and LG G5.
Unfortunately I could not get out a lot of photos (I was in-laws in the village?))
But I was able to take off several mainly nearby.
I can say that many times the result surprised me!
Really worthy rdn4 standing against device wearing of the best cameras of 2016 !! (LG G5)
At the end I will do and link from google drive folder with the photos in their original quality.
I expect comments?)

Can you upload the images directly? They look like they've been compressed, especially since it went through whatever editing software to write the models in.

LG G5 is classes above the Redmi series, they are not even comparable. Perhaps the real comparison would be between LG G5 and Xiaomi Mi5.
RN4 is a good phone indeed but it falls into the mid-range class.

Thanks for the great comparison! It really highlights the real world camera performance difference in less than ideal (mostly low light, which the G5 is well equipped to handle) conditions. The Redmi 4 does well for its price, but it really is miles behind in terms of detail (extremely soft photos), its white balance is off but at least noise is kept to acceptable levels. It's camera algorithms are surprisingly mature, showing less oversharpening and fringing than the G5 and that considering it had to work a lot harder trying to retain detail with that poor sensor and lens. Can you do a follow-up review in good light?

Looks like The G5 has a better camera. Bad news :/

I have a Redmi Note 4 and the camera is decent, not not very good.
In low light condition it is even worst...

All the Redmi pictures have a horrible yellow tint. Plus the lack of OIS makes the pictures blurry - especially the one with the potted plant

Care to elaborate? I don't understand what you're asking.
sorry for the bad english
what i was trying to ask is if anyone has upgraded to a newer phone compared to the rezound, how do they find the camera performance of the new phone is vs the rezound, reason being is i have a a few newer devices like iphone 5 and g pro but still seem to prefer the camera performance in terms of overall quality of the picture of the rezound and would just like to get users opinions on other devices camera performance thank you
I went to an LG G2. I miss my rezound camera. The G2's is decent, but the rez was so quick.

wow i think i will try and buy G2 NOW THAT THE g3 is comming prices are already dropping have you ever compared your pics to that of the s4 ?
The darker image is from the Resound the lighter is from the One. This is in a dark area to show the low light difference, so both will be a little grainy

Post pictures & videos taken with the Nexus 6P

Hey all,

I hope that was a really early pre-production unit because that's not very promising for all the hype they pumped at the event.
The bench one isn't focused properly.
The night time cityscape has a ton of noise and poor focus.

One thing I noticed is that the black strip's edge was really sharp and odd looking.
found some test photos from both 6P & 5X here: http://venturebeat.com/2015/09/29/hands-on-with-lgs-nexus-5x-and-huaweis-nexus-6p/
selfie looks NICE on the 6P
Looks pretty good to me. I don't think it will be anywhere near S6 though. The selfie camera on S6 Edge is unreal. It makes you look better than you actually look in real life which I'm assuming is part software too lol.
Low light ones seem very poor.

Is it just me or do some of the pictures look oversaturated? Especially the one with the red wooden bench.
Compared to the crap that other Nexus devices shot these look quite good. Are they Note 5 quality? No. I don't think they are bad though in the slightest.
Found this 6P photo album on Twitter with a little Googlin'. The VP Eng (Android) @ Google posted this.

that slow mo was sick as hell. I really like nexus phones for their dev support. wish i can get one from Singapore soon
These photos are great. For the bench photo, it was simply focused on the grass instead which is as easy as touching the screen to change focus.

haha that's exactly what my wife kept saying about the G4, the selfie camera on the G4 imo is better than the Moto X Pure and the OPT.
I thought the pictures above were fine.
As long as it's better than the G4 like some reviewers have mentioned I'll be happy
I'm looking at the pictures on my iMac at work and I have the brightness pumped up just to see how good they are... I must say, I'm pretty impressed! I'm not sure what kind of quality you guys are looking for but I suggest you go buy a camera at this point. It's a SMARTPHONE first then somewhere down the line it's a Camera as well. Let's not confuse what we're investing our hard earned money into.
many of the photos that are going to be posted by Googlers will have filters applied im assuming (all stuff that can be done right in the photos app or snapseed). but for point and shoot, i think they are pretty impressive for the stock nexus camera app which usually isn't up to par.

On MIUI the camera quality is a bit better than on LineageOS based roms.
If You are really in the manual controls just for fun or not You will need to edit the build.prop file and that needs root.
The light sensor can suffer gratefully in low light conditions generating a lot of noise.
If Your goal is to get the best pictures in the World of mobiles eg. visible every single snowflake in mid air without smudges => get a DSLR camera and a phone.
The stutter is pretty much responsive there is almost no lag when pressing the shot button
great photos!
Camera quality is excellent with Google Camera with AutoHDR+.
Quality is comparable with my entry-level 10 years old compact camera when shot in raw. Not the best camera in the market but more than enough for average usage.

There is still no solution (Redmi Note 4X). Oreo will probably not be. In vain, the camera2api works, Gcam is not good. [emoji849][emoji848][emoji2955]

That's what custom ROMs are for. We have Oreo and Pie (in early stage) and perfectly working GCams which makes our camera a lot better than on MIUI
GCam port by BSG produce very good quality photos with HDR+ mode. No lag while taking snap.
I have using my device for more than 3 years now. I mostly use it for communicating over chat apps and media consumption. I have been using various builds of LineageOS (official and unoffical) after the first year of purchase. But more importantly, Gcam has been with me even before that. I started using Gcam mods like that of BSG's 5.* during early years of development.
After coming long way now, the mods are mostly stable and all the included features works flawlessly (keeping in mind the device specific restrictions). The first thing after setting up my device after installing a new custom ROM (or upgrading) I do is install Gcam mod without doing anything else.

How well do ported Gcam work for the V30?

I really need to know if various ported Google camera apps works well for this phone. As in you can continuously take photos without the app lagging or run into issues.
I used to have an LG G6 and it worked great with Gcam. Now I have a V35 and Gcam works terrible for it, I've tried all the different dev version and it's all the same. Gcam would take the first two photos fine, then the third time onward it would become jerky while taking photo and taking 3 times as long to finish the shot (6+ seconds). Bottom line is the G6 takes better photos than my V35 because of this.
I am on the fence about buying a new Pixel 3a or used Pixel 3 just for the camera alone. But I've been concerned about Google quality control and how well the hardware will last. I've read so many hardware issues with the Pixel 1 and 2 so I don't even want to touch them. So I'm considering giving the V30 a try, but I really need that Gcam working well. I don't mind owning another LG phone as I love the quadDAC.

For LG V30, especially on most recent firmware, stock LG cam works well. One of the major requests for custom ROMs is to somehow get LG stock cam back.

The Gcam ports I've tried are really best used for 1) night sight (long processing time for ea pic) 2) rear camera enhanced plus - but only 1 shot at a time.
The ports are simply not perfect. They don't work as well as the regular LG cam app - except in the cases already mentioned.
That said, I think it really comes down to what your needs are. For me, having both apps installed works very well (just use whichever is appropriate for the situation). But if you believe the GCam app (on a google phone) would be that much better re fast multiple shots, then that would have to be your choice.
Lastly, it's *possible* the next version of Pixel phones has a dual rear lens. That would change things quite a bit I think, as the GCam ports of that app would then probably be more likely to be fully functional.
This is a night sight pic with the 'No Hex' version of the Gcam ports, taken at about 4am, notice the black sky...

Terrific stuff here. A friend just had his 808 rebuilt. (Then he bought a Samsung! Who would-a-thunk-it?) In other comparisons like this I notice the Sony tends to bring some yellow or off-white tone to the photos. What had the colors that are closer to the actual?
Colors is not an issue here, they could be easily corrected in RAW or raster editor.
But resolution is a disappointment. I've expected at least 20% advance over Nokia.

Yah. Got yah.
There is a big mistake. For Nokia 808 there exists a number of mods, one is even made by a russian hacker Osenok, one of many that let you shoot in full resolution with 100% jpeg quality.
Having seen the examples and comparisons, even the xiaomi / samsung with 108mp sensors couldn't resolve more details than the more-than-10-year-old Nokia 808.
And the Pro-i with its 12mp is no resolution beast in any place. Any flagship with a 48/50/64/108mp sensor would beat it in daylight with no sweat.
Walking on the wild side: upping the Nokia 808 to full 41MP status?
Following an interesting Twitter exchange, and in light of the paucity of new updates coming out for the Nokia 808 PureView, I'm more inclined to give publicity to what are normally classed as 'hacks', breaking through the usual Symbian OS safeguards in order to achieve extra functionality. In...

Yes agree. We get to choose our flavor of digital rendering by phone manufacturer. No different than Kodachrome, Extachrome, and Fuji film renderings in the day.
