Please fill out Petition - Note 7 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi all,
As you all now know Samsung has completely recalled the note 7 and killed it off. Many of us have lost a lot of money in the sense that we have sold our old note phones to get the new note 7 along with lost money on on extras for note 7.
Some of us have had to go and downgrade our contracts to phones we didn't want but as we all need to have a phone we have been forced to tie our self down for 2 years of unwanted phone contracts and when note 8 comes out we won't be able to get it.
Please fill out the petition in the link below :

$1000 gift card? A free galaxy s8/s8edge? How you expect them to make money then?

Why would I worry about them making money when I lost money on all the extras I bought for the note 7 and had to go get a ****ty phone out of desperation and I sold my old note phone upon getting the new note 7.
They will make there money back but I won't so I don't see any point to your question.
I don't care much for a free note 8 or a 1000$
But I do want a note 5 for all the hassle I have gone through because of their move to fully stop the note 7. I am in need of a Spen phone and I do not own a tree in my back yard growing money nor do I have a a$$ ****ting money. I work hard for the little money capitalism allows me to earn while the guys at the top takes all the money.
Many of us have families to support so not all of us can just go out and get a new handset cash every other month.
My **** list can go on but I will stop the moaning here.

I hope this isn't actually serious.
What would be more reasonable would be a promise of a discount on the Note 8 (or whatever they will call it).
Asking for A THOUSAND DOLLARS (I actually lol'ed at that, in my office... people asked wtf I was reading, I showed them, and they lol'ed) is ridiculous. What this petition accomplishes is that no one will take any requests for added compensation, or even a future discount, seriously, because they'll know "it's never enough".
Why don't you ask them for a new car too, because of the wear and tear of driving your car to and from the store? Maybe they could get you a new house too? After all, you no doubt emotionally and mentally associate your current house with the traumatic experience of owning, then losing, your Note 7, and therefore you cannot live there any longer without suffering mental anguish. They probably owe you a million dollars as well, not a thousand. Far too much pain and suffering due to the Note 7 fiasco for a thousand dollars to cover it.

I am scarred for life. It is just too much. My pain and anguish is just too much. I have to sue over this. But I am sure a million or so would make me whole again.
We would all like a Note 7. No one had to immediately sell their old phone. Samsung is losing a bunch of money on this. I do hope, really do hope that they will see this through and rerelease the N7 with updated charging firmware. I would certainly buy one. Heck, I would be happy to buy an original phone with updated charging firmware.
Nothing out there really does as well. The S7 is ok but smaller screen and no stylus. I have really gotten used to the stylus. I have big fingers and they just don't work as well.

I just received an email that 200 people signed it. Keep it going guys.

doesn't really make sense to me but i'll fill it out. I would understand exchanging note7 for S7 Edge and getting illegibility exchanging that S7 edge for future note 8 free of charge but getting S7 edge +1k $ heh, good luck.
What i much rather see is a petition filled for Returns and Exchanges of Note 7. Samsung dropped a ball big time in that department and so many of us are struggling with this process. Rather get the media / people / Samsung to acknowledge that problem first.

[Q] Should I take this trade?

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket with AT&T. I also have an Acer Iconia A500 10" tablet. Both are rooted running custom ROMS. The tablet is actually running a leaked ICS. I have been proposed this offer. A guy has an upgrade available. He wants to buy me a brand new white galaxy note in exchange for these two devices.
If it were you would you accept the trade?
No. LOL he should give you cash, you can decide how much depending on condition of your phone and tablet. Wait a few and watch Note's price drop.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Skyrocket eBay average sold* price for used phone in perfect condition: $400.00
Iconia A500 eBay average sold* price for used tablet in perfect condition: $300.00
SOURCE.
That is $700 and for that you can get a brand new I7000. That guy would only have to spend $300 on a white note and take a $400 profit off you.
*"Average sold" means the average price for that specific item that actually SOLD. Not the price they are listed for sale.
But you cant calculate it at 300 he is also giving up his upgrade. You have to look at the average sale price of the Galaxy note and its close to 700.
I did actually consider selling both the items and turning around and buying one myself but then I go through the hassle and time of selling them, hoping that I get enough out of them. I also go without a phone in between the time the skyrocket sells and I get the note because it is my only phone.
I am not eligible for an upgrade at the moment so I would pay that $700 price tag. Yes, he may only pay $300 but he wins by getting both devices and saving some money on the purchase and I win by getting the note without the trouble of having to sell both devices and hoping I get enough.
The question I come down to is if the Note is a good enough phone to ditch the skyrocket whose only advantage over the note is that it has NFC and the tablet, which I hardly use because I have a laptop and an iPad, for the note that has the larger screen.
The main things I use my phone for are as a GPS navigator, a web browser, and a camera. The larger screen would seem to be better suited for all of that. I would hope that posting this in the Galaxy Note section you would have some insight as to the performance of the device as well as the customization available (ROMs, Kernels, etc). I've owned the devices I'm giving up, I haven't owned the Note. Just looking for pros and cons and personal opinions. No need for comments like "He's ripping you off" or what not. Just explain why you think he is.
Thanks guys!
I would take the trade. Trying to sell stuff on craigslist or eBay is such a pain. But that is me and I was desperate for the note. I had my skyrocket + $200 cash on my end on craigslist looking for a trade. So if you are impatient and don't mind taking a little hit go for it. The note is an amazing device. I also have an iconia and I have not used it in a week.
However if you are asking here that would indicate some trepidation on your behalf. Trust your gut.
I would take the trade + $50-$100 cash back from the guy who has the Galaxy Note
if it were me....i would not do it.
he is winning either way you look at it. the Rocket is a great device in its own right......plus a tablet?
sell one or both and see where it leaves you. at&t has the note 649 right. if anything trade the rocket to him plus a little cash and keep the tab or vise versa
thats my OP
700? There's one in marketplace right now for 550 shipped. They're going to be on the market for about that much for awhile..your choice ...easy deal for trade or sell your devices for what they're worth and pocket 150.

I came from the Skyrocket and dont regret it at all. Probably biggest decision is how much will you miss a full tablet. I would say he is making out a little ahead and may be able to talk him into 50 dollars or so but if its what you really want its worth it IMHO.

He still has an iPad, and from what he says he uses his devices for, the iPad more than fulfills the 'full tablet' requirement. No, it isn't an android tablet, but the iPad still surfs the web well, apart from flash.
i would tell him the skyrocket or the acer iconia and $100 for his Galaxy note - if he says no then tell him to go F** himself.
Good luck
I more or less did this exact thing, since I wasn't eligible for an upgrade on the Note. I sold my SR and a Toshiba Thrive on ebay for about $680. But then you take into account Ebay fees and then Paypal fees and you're out almost $100. So the offer is not terrible really, if you wanted a Note anyways.

Too much driving from Florida.
I wasn't serious anyway. You'll end up losing out on the deal if you trade with the guy. Try to sell them separately and you'll come out even. The Skyrocket should get you $300 on Craigslist easy. That alone should be enough to pick up the Note from him and you get to keep the rocket and the tab

I assumed as much Just figured I'd call your bluff.
After looking around craigslist and ebay I could probably break even with enough money to buy the note but then I go through the hassle of selling them and then being without a phone if the phone happens to sell before the tablet and I don't have the money for the note yet.
It basically comes down to whether or not I really want the note. I've been to AT&T twice to play with it and like the phone but that one wasn't rooted, OCed, or running a custom ROM. I know it has to be faster than the one they have on the floor.
So far I've seen comments that people have switched from the skyrocket to the note and don't regret it. I'd be curious if there is anyone who does?
I had two skyrockets with in a two week period and both developed problems and were returned to AT&T, I told them to keep the skyrocket and I would pay the difference for the white note and I think that the Note is a much better phone than the skyrocket!!! It is a great phone and a even better tablet, I have not touched mt Galaxy tab since I got my note.
I have a deal pending on my SR for $350 shipped and the Iconia 16gb A500 will probably get you $250 so that's $600 from you. If you pay the paypal fee and shipping like I am, I'm only really getting about $310 for the SR. A NIB Note is getting about $550 so it's really more a question of...Do you feel like you are losing out or getting what you want? I have the Transformer Prime running CM9 with a case and I hardly use it. My phone is what I spend most of my time on.

Just came across this ... Great S Release Date?

Thoughts? Look at the pricing and availability towards the bottom of the page.
Says October 11th and $498. Seems like the legit Samsung site.
http://www.samsung.com/sg/news/local/samsung-gear-s-and-gear-circle-enhances-the-smart-wearable-experience
Is that only a Singapore date?
That's what I'm wondering, either way gives me hope of a US October release. Personally I'd like to grab my 4 and Gear S at the same time, like I did last year with my Note 3, Gear and Note 10.1 2014 in one purchase, made for an overwhelmingly good, fun night lol. But I'd like to kick start my Note 4 with a Gear S attached to it.
that`s about what $400 US?
No idea, I'd pay it though! Just need some US info, I'm more excited about the watch than any other device right now.
As much as I want one. I need to see a full review with a production model.

Eh, most product reviews are usually by idiots in my opinion that have no idea what they are looking at, I realized this last year with the Gear 1, people are still referencing uneducated early reviews about the Gear 1 when talking about the Gear S, I'm still using my Gear 1 that was "so horrible on battery" lol and its awesome on battery.
The reviewers usually know much less than we but occasionally proved useful information.
We still need to know full specs and capabilities.
Agreed, I'm a huge fan of reviews and unboxing videos prior to a purchase but I take them with a grain of salt and worst case scenario I just most stores return policy.
I find it odd that this watch is released before the Note 4 or Edge.
Based upon the leaked Australian pricing, the Gear S USA would be around $375. My guess is they round that to $350 which would make it about $15 a month on a 2 year non-binding agreement or maybe $100 on a 2 year contract.
Finally read the give print on the att site and got an idea of how they plan to set up the gear s. Figured I'd share for any that didn't know.

I think that is a bit misleading. If the watch is 3G and has a sim card, you will be able to receive SMS directly without a cell phone. I think what they are trying to say is that you will be able to add your Gear S to an existing Smartphone Contract but you won't be able to have the Gear S as your only phone.
We'll see. A lot of confusing info out there. Would be nice of them to just give a for sale date and price though.

That includes VAT and of course everything always costs more in England. We also don't know if that site is gouging people or not. My guess is $350 USD.
Lol I'm just getting frustrated with the mobile carriers and Samsung, Samsung did this last year with the Note 10.1 2014 all hush hush until a week before it's for sale, stupid move in my opinion especially for high end expensive products, if someone doesn't make a lot of money and they try to save they don't know how much or for how long, or if they are really in the market for something (ie; like me with a tablet last year, I really wanted the new note 10.1 but had to wait almost two months for just a release date, and I almost bought a different non Samsung tablet instead, luckily for Samsung and myself I held out) but to think that most people can just drop $4-500 on a watch or $7-800 on a tablet on their next paycheck like that, is just stupid and is what's killing their first week sales. I've had my Note 4, VR and especially my Gear S money sitting in a jar just piling up since IFA I've probably accumulated double what everything will cost, but then again I'm not sure lol, I'm sure I'll find out 3 days before it's time to finally get one and hopefully I have enough, or still want it.
I'm not sure who, Samsung or the cell companies, lol but for Christ sakes give people time to plan and not string them along for months with not even a rough estimate of price or what were in for as far as if it's another monthly phone charge. We're 25% through October and still nothing, I'm all about Samsung products so I'll hold out, but how many people do you think won't? And Samsung wonders why their profits are down 40 something percent since last year. Hate to say it, because I hate Apple as a whole, but they were shipping a week after announcing, hit em while it's hot, Samsung yet again announces and let's the oven cool, most people would of scooped this off the shelves soon after IFA because of all the buzz, wait two months and hear nothing about it again most people will move on and probably grab a Moto 360 or something, so Samsung is just hurting themselves.
I personally am not the type who gets more excited over months of anticipation, I get annoyed and frustrated, but I swear by Samsung products, how about the people who don't? That are willing to try them out over the new iPhone, but weren't willing to wait forever and just say screw it and grab the iPhone? There's your numbers Samsung, there's your profits.
I wish they'd Stop trying to beat Apple and worry about stealing their users, it won't happen, they're brainwashed and are not worried about specs or bang for their buck, spoke could release the iTurd and those kids would ready it up, so worry about the people who are diehard Samsung fans, they keep the lights on, I've personally converted about 5 iPhone users to Samsung s5's and Note 3's and will continue to do so.
If they keep us happy, we'll do more marketing then any reviewer or competitive release date will.
Lol so let's get some friggin' info already.
Side note (no pun intended):
I fear the day Samsung stops making removable backs with swappable batteries and micro sd card slots! they did it on the alpha, which I almost considered picking up to have as a side phone to my Note 4 until I saw no expandable memory, next goes the removable back and then we got an android (or Tizen) iPhone which is the opposite of what I want in a smartphone. I honestly won't buy a phone that I can't remove the battery or especially doesn't have expandable memory. The only ones really complaining about the plastic are people that use iPhones and don't plan to buy a Samsung anyways, 3 Notes deep, 4th in a few weeks and I've never had a problem with the plastic. We don't want iPhones Samsung, and iPhone users don't want anything besides an iPhone.
Nice!!!!
The at&t site has full specs up but no release date yet. We know that it'll be a "connected device" meaning $10/mo on mobile share plans & I'm guessing you'll have you have a phone on the plan even if you don't want it. The samsung ppl hinted that the calling/sms features will be tied into GVoice but that's just conjecture. It sounds like it'll either have something to do with hangouts, or an app on your phone that forwards everything to the watch under certain conditions.
I'm not saying i know, just guessing based on all the bits on info I've been given by the 2 companies. I'm wondering how it'll be added to grandfathered family plans, if at all.
But can we just use it like we use the 1st gear and gear 2 connected via Bluetooth?

Oh sorry I
Samsung issued two recalls, stopped production on the Note 7 completely, and now all they can do is hope consumers actually return their Note 7 devices as requested for refunds of the purchase price or exchange towards another smartphone.
I don't have a problem with anything that Samsung itself has done so far.
It would go a really long way if Samsung were to offer a good incentive and guaranteed path to get whatever the next iteration of the Note line ends up being when it's ready to launch.
The most upsetting part of the entire situation is being without such a great phone after getting a taste of how awesome it is. I know it's my personal favorite device ever, and I'm much more upset that I have to give it up and use an upgrade to switch to another device that I have no interest in since when I originally upgraded to the Note 7 I gave up my Note 4 in the process.
When you say you gave up the Note 4 in the process of getting a Note 7, did Verizon offer you some kind of discount for the trade in so you'd get the Note 7 at a discounted price, and if so what was that price?
The reason I ask is because if you have a Note 7 (and haven't returned it yet) Samsung is willing to buy it back from you for the full retail price - they do have some expectation that if you do go that route you'll pay off Verizon for what you do owe on it but that should leave you with some cash left if it was discounted. Since I don't know how much you might have paid for or are going to pay for (if it's under contract) the Note 7 that amount might be worth trying to get your hands on, could buy yourself a used Note 4 maybe.
I know a lot of people are in that same situation where they traded in a device to get a break on the Note 7's full retail price but nobody ever seems to say exactly how much of a discount that actually is or was. I see that Verizon has some program that offers "up to $300 when you upgrade" so I'm guessing that could be the amount, or something close to it, maybe?

Samsung getting a pass??

How in the Holy Hellz is Samsung getting a free pass on the Note 7 debacle?? I even see mainstream Android pundits saying they did about the best they could. That's horseradish. Does anyone else notice how this is being kind of swept under the rug...and quickly too, so they can move on to the Next Big Thing???
Samsung is only offering 100 dollars to people who buy another Samsung phone. The only Samsung phone that is even remotely close to the Note 7 is the S7. So Samsung is trying to entice its customers to buy a phone that is about to iterate in 2-3 months.
What of customers that traded their phones? Many did so comfortable in the knowledge they had a new, functioning phone. Now they have nothing if they choose a straight up refund. Nobody can really "refund the transaction," because to truly redo the transaction they would need the traded phone back...(I was okay with giving up my Note-4 for 40 dollars as long as it was going toward a brand new Note 7. I am not okay with just giving up my phone for 40 bucks and now having nothing but crappy choices).
At best, users came in looking for an upgrade, only to loose everything. Many had to go back to their original phones (if they still have them), and eat the costs of any accessories over 25 dollars.
At a minimum, Samsung should give users a substantial credit toward the next new Samsung phone that is coming very soon.
You're lucky. Here in the UK we've been offered sweet FA.
Well not strictly true, we've been offered a S7 or S7 Edge and a refund on the difference or a chance to cancel the contract free of charge.
Can't really complain. Already got full refund. Also got 2 gear fit2 out of this. They said they'd refund note7 specific accessories, too.
It's going to cost Samsung $30-50 billion dollars - that's BILLION WITH A B - before all this is finally resolved. It will probably hurt them drastically for the next 12 to 18 months so, no, they're not getting a free pass over this.
They're paying for it, substantially.
I really don't care what it's costing them, as a consumer who feels pretty burned (sorry) I don't see why I should. They wasted a lot of our time and in some cases money for a product they apparently didn't test enough.
Sent from my iPad using a walled garden.
There's no reward without risk - in today's world, everything is a risk, absolute consumer safety is 100% impossible and they do the best they can given the situation at hand. iPhones have caught on fire and exploded also, lest people keep forgetting that. Other brands and manufacturers have had issues with their products of various kinds as well.
You can't test for the random events that happen, the world is just too damned complex for that and small compact incredibly complicated electronics technology just takes that to levels magnitudes greater further making it effectively impossible to be able to predict what will actually happen in any given situation.
Two Note 7 devices rolling off the assembly line one right after the other are not identical, none of them are to be honest, when you really break it down.

There's a tone in the past few posts I've read where people sound like they're still negotiating. The Note7's over. Talking about what Samsung should have or could have done is pointless. They've lost billions and trashed their brand image. Some people will stay with them (I did) some people won't. It would be a good idea to do something special for previous Note7 owners when the next generation of Galaxy's are released but I wouldn't count on it. Just like I wouldn't count on getting anything anyone hasn't gotten in the mean time. In the U.S. they had always been offering a $25 carrier credit for people that exchanged or returned their Note7's. They upped it by another $75 if the phone people exchanged in to was a Samsung phone. And that as they say is that.

Thanks for sharing! I noticed the unlocked version is less expensive than carrier specific. I've never gone the route of unlocked - does anyone know of advantages/ disadvantages of going this route? I'm assuming the updates would come from Samsung rather than carrier but, again, unlocked is foreign to me. Thanks, in advance!

You would have to pay off that balance in order to get a new phone.
You
I know that. They told us that wouldnt affect us and they would waive that. So in other wor4ds Verizon lied again. They told us we wouldnt have to do that. I guess I will be changing carriers since I cant trust Verizon to keep their word.
You
I didnt change phones by choice. I was forced by your company to do so. I was assured by verizon that Note 7 owners would be upgraded at no penalty when the Note 8 came out. So you company lied again.
You
As long as we got another Samsung phone we would be able to upgrade at no penalty to us.
You
This is beyond messed up. Now I am stuck with a phone I never wanted in the first place and cant get rid of it.
Verizon
Stephen, you may of very well been told this. Did you hear this over the phone or in store?
Verizon
I want to guide you to the right place to get this information!
You
Over the phone from a Verizon rep
Verizon
Let me grab you the number to our Customer Care Specialist to assist with this issue okay?
You
When Verizon bricked my note 7 to force me to turn it in.
Verizon
Note 7 from all over the world had to be turned in for the safety of citizens!
You
They even released a press release stating the same thing!
You
Yeah thats bull****. My phone was never at risk to explode. Never even got warm.
You
Only 35 worldwide exploded and they were all in Korea. None in the US. The oneshere were found to be fraud.
Verizon
I understand you are frustrated. Everyone had to do the same thing!
Verizon
Let me get you that number so you can get in touch with someone who can help.
Verizon
Or I can transfer you here in chat, how does that sound?
You
just give me the number. I need a break from dealing iwth you guys.
Verizon

Do you straight out them these payments or are you getting a monthly credit from Verizon that will pay off your device like I am? I came over from Sprint back in February when they revealed the unlimited plans and it was a promotion where I traded in my Galaxy S7 Edge and I got the LG v20 for free with a monthly $28 credit that will eventually pay off the phone. Yes I did multiple chats online and in my case, I can swap out my line with the Note 8 and still get the account credits. I even asked if I could "lend my phone to a friend" and they could use the V20 on their account (I'll be sending it to Samsung to fulfill the $425 off obviously) and he said yes that's not a problem because the installment plans don't put locks on the phones. Here's some text of a chat I had earlier.
Verizon
To give you a reference that your device payment credit will continue please keep this agreement number: XXXXXXXXX. This agreement is based on the active line where you device was linked to. Now, just as long as the line is active, regardless you'll use a different device and just as long you will not pay off the DPA (device payment agreement), the credit will continue.
You
Thank you! I have a few more questions.
Verizon
Yes, what questions do you still have while you have me?
You
Can I lend the LG V20 to a friend of mine, since I will no longer be using it?
You
And he can use it on his account?
Verizon
Yes absolutely he can use it on his own account. As long as the device payment will be fulfilled in 24 months, there will be no problem.
Verizon
Yes you are correct
What sucks is I had to give back my note 7 twice and I am using a note 3 there not going to give me anything for it lol

They can give you $425. They told me to place the order and then give them a call and provide them your order them. They will note the order that you will be sending a note 3. As a precaution I paid with my Amex so if they try to screw me I will file a dispute. I'm not going to trade in my S8 Plus

I wonder how I could dispute an issue with Samsung financing...I wanted the 0% instead of my 10% credit card. I don't think they will have issues unless the trade in is in poor condition.
btw, there are folks buying note 7's for 300-400 on craigslist. apparently, samsung is quietly buying them back. i'm meeting a guy in a place with cameras tomorrow to sell mine for 380.
i kept mine - i said bugger off to all those stupid letters and boxes.
and for all those folks who told me i was wrong for ignoring the harassing letters from verizon/samsung: pffft!
i have been using it as a really cool wifi tablet and now it's become my personal trade-in program for the note 8 i just pre-ordered from best buy.

Hi! How can I help you today?
You
I want to know if the previous Note 7 owners who were forced to turn in their phones for other phones will be allowed to upgrade to the Note 8.
Verizon
Welcome to Verizon Wireless Sales chat! With whom do I have the pleasure of chatting today?
You
Stephen
Verizon
It's very nice to meet you, Stephen!
Verizon
Any customer can upgrade to the new Note 8!
You
We were told that if we turned in our Note 7 after the whole exploding battery incident that we would be allowed to upgrade when the new one came out. Is that going to be honored?
Verizon
There shouldn't be any issue!
Verizon
Do I have permission to access your account so that I can better assist you?
You
Yes
Verizon
Which line are we wanting to upgrade?
You
(Blanked by me)

You are definitely eligible to get the Note 8 however you still have 17 payments left on the current phone.
Verizon
That would go the same as if you still had the Note 7 on your account.

I got the deal you wanted, let me give you some advice.
It's about three things. One, don't use chat. Chat is impersonal and doesn't allow you to convey appropriate tone. Two, don't get rude or verbally aggressive. Three, you need a strong account. By that I mean like I have been toting a 250-350 monthly bill with Verizon for over 8 years with a good payment history as well.
After a good hour on the phone, and being told multiple times that I would have to pay off the 500 bucks still owed on the S7Edge I never wanted... and politely explaining that I needed someone to speak to that can work outside the usual box of rules they work within.... I finally got transferred to a supervisor who looked at the account, and said okay, I can make this right. He forced the contract as paid in full which pushed that 500 bucks onto my bill, then immediately went in and issued a credit for the same amount. This made my S7Edge paid for in full so I could not only upgrade early but get the same promotion as every Joe off the street that never went through 5 phones during the Note 7 fiasco. So I got it half price still like everyone else. It will be here tomorrow.
That was the kicker I think. I simply explained that if they had A. returned my old paid for Nexus 6 to me (which they said they couldn't do) or if I had the Note 7 still (which had the annual upgrade available), they would have exchanged it for a Note 8 right away no questions asked. So I simply said, I just wanted them to honor the annual upgrade I was entitled to beginning August 2016 when I agreed to purchase the preordered Note 7. They didn't have to pay off the 500 bucks on the S7Edge. But I promise you my approach combined with my logic and my account strength made it happen.
They even added 12gb to our data plan. The supervisor also personally called me the next day to confirm the transaction went smoothly and to be sure I was happy. I have never received that level of customer service from any company. It was truly refreshing.

They offered me the same deal initially, to pay half the remaining balance on my S7Edge. I said no thank you and called back and started over again with someone else who sent me to a supervisor who paid off my phone in full, all 500 bucks... .

Now that's a shame! I too ignored everybody and kept my Note 7, it takes a full charge thanks to software blocking the charging update that makes it a brick. Also, as predicted, T-Mobile was not able to cut us off if you were paying your bill, so I've had full service this whole time. I, however, won't be selling this to anyone, it's going back to Samsung for a full refund! There is no expiration date on that recall! That's $850.00+ and use of a free phone for a whole year! I'll use an iPhone 5 to get the Note 7 owners discount.

After this I waited until the next day an called. I told the nice young lady what the situation was and she put me on hold. She came back and told me that I would still have to pay off the phone. I told her that would not be financially feasible because I owed $586 on that phone and I pay $521 a month on my bill every month (Have Me. my mom, my son and my wife on my account plus a few other devices). I told her that if I would be required to do that then I would explore my options of going to another company and having them pay off all of my stuff and then I would only have to worry about getting the phone. She put me on hold again for about 7 minutes and when she came back she told me that they were going to pay off the remainder of my phone. Problem solved.
