Replacing China-Phone ROM

Hi, I just bought a brand-less China-made Android phone with the words "4G LTE" on its back. It is dual SIM and a portable TV.
I would like to know if there is a better ROM while retaining the 2 features abovementioned?
Looking at the About Phone and Sysinfo, it says that it is a:
Processor: ARMv6-compatible processor rev 7 (v6l)
BogoMIPS: 668.46
Features: swp half thumb fastmult vfp edsp java
Release Codename: REL
API Level: 10
CPU ABI: armeabi
Brand: yusu
Hardware: mt6573
Android Version: 2.3.4
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7
Device Model Number: e1101_v73_klx1ctp_capella
Baseband Version: MAUI.11AMD.W11.19.SP.V2,2011/10/01 03:35

What would you advise? Thanks!

MIUI se convierte en Open Source
Looking for the same thing, anyway somone could provide a link to techknow china roms? I tried google it brought up several entries. Can't get a bead on it.
h4300, is currently having problems with the screen getting out of sync (i think) starts to scramble and stuff like that.
The power button never worked out of the box, I had edited the key files to get functionality out of it, but I still cant turn it on. When its in the powered off state.
I am thinking this is just a rom issue. Since I am fairly new to the android scene, I cants say for sure.
Certainly, compiling my own rom is an option. Before I even attempt that I have to figure out how to get a recovery option going. I'm not even sure if its possible to get clockworkmod on this phone.
It's just so hard to find info on these mt65xx phones. If anyone has experience with mt65xx china phones, concerning backup, recovery, flashing. Please send me a PM.
What I need to figure out is how to backup the ROM on it, and flash new one. I guess I can live with finding / or compiling my own. However I would like to avoid building my own.
Thank you for you responses.

I want to note, that I would like to just (re)flash the original rom, as opposed flashing a custom one.
I am thinking something got corrupt during their flash process. Talking to china customer support about it isn't yielding any results. They just keep asking me to send it back, and shipping it back costs more then the cost of the actual phone.
If I could just find the correct tools to flash, and back up. It would be a step in the right direction.
Again thank for your responses, helpful or not.
Search google for a chinese htc hd2 clone someone did a port of cyanogen and recovery for it mate. Once i arrive home i will also try to search for the phone again

well decided to send it back (found a cheaper way) Got the new phone and working great except that the app HP Eprint$biz is not printing my pictures over cell data connection, all automatically print failure....
I dont get how it works on one and not on the other its the same phone. Am I missing something simple???
***EDIT** Ehh whatever went to an older version all is well. I can live with that.
I think I just found a cwm recovery....gotta test
Also another ROM ... will test both by end of week.

Have you create a new scatter file for your phone?
The phone is a Hero H4300 using Mediatek chip MT6573. If you look for "H4300 Thunderbolt" on Youtube, you can see that the manufacturer has a new 3D ROM for it. It will be great if we can flash our devices with this new ROM. Thanks for your great job and I am looking forward to a custom ROM for this little wonder, because the stock Bluetooth does NOT work well, and Skype for Android has a problem with it too, apparently.

No I never did create a scatter file for the h4300 with the MT657x3 Flash Tool. I do know it can be done. The process was a little over my head at the time. Being pretty new to the android platform I just wanted a simple solution to do backups and recovery (quick and easy) which is why I was trying so hard to find a CWM recovery for it.
I did manage to get the recovery working using the scatter file that came with the original rom, I just clicked on the recovery file, and browsed to the (CWM Like)recovery and flashed. I got and error when done flashing it (but it works, tested nandroid backup and restore, but thats all I tested) Im not sure if this was the correct procedure....I doubt it was. But backups and recovery worked for me. I dont want to mess around with it too much if that functionality is working.

I am not responsible for any part of the creation of this. I merely translated the sites and found a recovery that worked.
Well I hope that someday we can have custom roms for this phone....

[Q] Android Devices Currently Not Supported By Cyanogenmod

Hello Guys,
Could anyone please provide some info about this case:
o What are my options if I have an Android device (smartphone) not supported by CyanogenMod?
o Is there anything than waiting until my model will be added to the supported list? I bought a very simple and reasonably priced "no-name" phone (Simvalley SP-2X.SLIM), and I learn now one disadvantage is that it is not supported.
o I also did not find anything about rooting, flashing or even booting it up into safe mode / recovery.
Any help and info is very much appreciated.

Well, here it is straight forward, your device only gets official support if the Cyanogenmod teams deems the unofficial build for it stable and reliable to gain official support. If there isn't any unofficial builds then it's safe to say that it will never have official support. As for rooting the device there may be methods for it available, a universal root for example, flashing as in roms and other things, no clue, never heard of that device before and there might not be any support for it either. So with that being said, hope this helps you.

Hi Yoelpro,
Thanks for your info. Since my first post I have managed to root my device - was very happy. It was not too easy, given that it is extremely minimal supported. I already tried TWRP with GooManager, but when I try to install an open recovery sript, surprise surprise: "no recoveries were found for your device".
Any ideas if there is another way to find one and copy it on the phone? I have to confess being too scared even trying to flash a custom ROM without flashing a backup first. I managed to find out that the stock ROM is a Vanilla on my Simvalley SP-2X.SLIM.
Thank you.

Hey there Critical Detox
Thanks for your info. Since my first post I have managed to root my device: Simvalley SP-2X.SLIM - was very happy to see that it is working.
Unfortunately, I could not even find an unofficial CM build, I'm quite sure that an official build does not exist. Interestingly, my device was once perfectly recognized as SP-2X.SLIM and once recognised as HTC (for drivers) during the rooting. I'm very curious IF or AS WHAT my device would be recognized if I started the one click install of CM. I might be a chicken, but a careful chicken as I don't want to do it before saving a backup of the stock ROM to my SD card first. When I try to install an open recovery sript (GooManager), surprise surprise: "no recoveries were found for your device". I managed to find out that the stock ROM on my device is a Vanilla 4.2.2 but could I not find this ROM to download yet.
Any help is very welcome, as I am not quite an expert and my phone is a quasi no-name model.
Cheers,
schmayer

[RECOVERY][SGH-M819N]TWRP 2.8.5.0 Touch Recovery for MetroPCS Mega 6.3[2015-03-11]

TWRP 2.8.5.0 for the SGH-M819N MetroPCS Mega 6.3
With permission from the highly skilled developer who generously took his time to create this build, I share with you Team Win Recovery Project version 2.8.5.0 for the MetroPCS Mega 6.3 (SGH-M819N). I can't take any credit for this build, but all I can say is don't forget to appreciate your developers who kindly take their time to bring things like this to you.
The need for this build arose after discovering the partition table on the MetroPCS Mega 6.3 is slightly different than on the international Mega 6.3, and it created an incompatibility with the more recent TWRP builds. If the AT&T variant ever gets it's bootloader cracked/unlocked (don't hold your breath), then this should also work on it too, as it's partition table is identical to the MetroPCS's. I have no idea about the Sprint variant.
Anyway, down to business...
Downloads
I've attached the recoveries to this post in zip and tar format. If for some reason this isn't allowed, I've created alternate download mirrors. If you need this recovery in .img format, simply download the zip and extract it from that. Chances are, if you're here, you're already capable of handling that. Anyhow, enjoy...

Any knowledge if the Canadian mega had the same partition table? No locked boot loader for Canada. And I have been using the ROMs built for the 9205 I think..
I checked the partition table of my Canadian mega and it seems the same to me. (After a few drinks it looked almost exact, so you might want some one else to confirm). So I flashed it and everything seems to be working fine.. But I will not know for sure until my yearly wipe and reinstall..
Of anyone wants to see my partition table send a message and Ill post it
As an update I've been using this recovery on my Canadian mega i527m for a week now, been flashing and backup and restoring most every day as I Mess with my mega
Only issue I have found is that when rebooting and it asks to install super user I can't cancel out and if I hit yes the screen just goes black and it reboots..
Other wise it's working pretty good.
thank you for posting this.
Nice work
I know this post is a few years old, but thank you so much for this TWRP build!! I have a client that was about to give up on his MetroPCS Mega 6.3, so I suggested TWRP, SuperSU, System App Remover Pro, Titanium Backup, AdAway, BusyBox, & EX Kernel Manager (a GREAT kernel tweaking tool, even for Kernels other than ElementalX!!), and now she's running like a champ!!
Ugh, Samsung crapware just KILLS devices that would otherwise be great, so thank you again for this TWRP build. It made flashing SuperSU a breeze, not to mention the ability to make Nandroid's . . . . then, it was time for bloatware removal and some tweak-tastic goodness!!
I would've preferred to flash a custom ROM, but apparently there isn't a single one that's 100% functional on the MetroPCS variant (SGH-M819N), so again, thank you so much for this. If a decent, compatible custom ROM ever surfaces, at least now we have a way to flash it!!

Aliendalvik not dalvik that's first. Aliendalvik is avaliable only for official devices, it just happened to work on kinzie too (just needed to change some file). I was planning to port anbox for this and any other device but it's currently almost not working and it's hard :/
How do i choose devices? Well i love motorolas because they're very very easy to port so i'm sure they will work. I'm throwing away brands that i hate/i know sfos would not work on them. My 2 crowdfunding campaigns covers moto x style and huawei p8 lite it was almost choosed by people (i picked them from sailfishos port request page). I'll by for myself from my money moto x 1 and x2 cuz i love them X force was choosed because it was very interesting device and also it's probably one of the most powerful sfos powered device rn so i wanted to show people that not only ultra old devices have sfos but newest ones too (well x force is 2 years old but still have great specs). so yeah once anbox get usable i'll try to port on x force and every device that i have/will have
Well guys my work is freezed until my X Force get repaired
